OK COMMUNITY
When I moved in here I found very little wrong with my apt.
I turned in my service requests and they were handled promptly for me.
The office staff was very helpful and the maintenance staff are great.
The grounds are ok and the fitness center is a pleasure. I really appreciate the security gates, that work most of the time. And so far it´s a quiet community.
Parking is never a hassle, either.
I am in for the long haul. I really like it here. And the shopping nearby is great!

The management sucks!
I moved into Chestnut Ridge in 2000. When I first moved there, I thought it was a wonderful place to live. The property was very nice and well kept. The management staff seemed to be courteous and professional at all times. I didn´t have any problems.

Now, that Rita has become the manager. I have a totally different outlook on everything. The property does look terrible. There is always mud or water standing in the parking lot and sidewalks. The pool last summer was so nasty, I wouldn´t have dreamed of going swimming. The hot tub did not work. When asked about it, Rita said they could not afford to keep it running. The electricity bill was too high. I figured that is what we pay rent for.

Rita is very rude and unprofessional. If you let her get away with it she will talk to you like you are a child and I do beleive that she is predjudice. My lease is up really soon, and I will be moving too. When I got off work yesterday, I noticed three different moving trucks moving people out. That tells me a whole lot. None of the tennants are really happy there anymore.

Thank god I got out!!!!
I was a tenate at chestnut ridge for about 7 months, and I have never lived in such a rancid place in all of my life, the whole apt complex is a dump there is always mud all over the walk ways form water breaking, my apt had roaches, when i asked them to fix my counters in the kitchen because they were cracked at burnt, all they did was spray paint over them white. when i moved in the dump the place was nasty there were urine stains on the carpet from a previous animal, the bathtubs and tolits and black grime all over them i had to clean the whole place before i moved in, and when i went to talk to the manager about it she was rude and hateful and said that i was lying and that it was clean when she went through. The maintenace was horrible i had to complain several times before anyone would ever come and then they wouldnt fix anything right. The manager ---- was nothing but a lazy piece of trash, she was rude, incompatient, and prejdice finally after 7 months i broke my lease and moved out i would never refer anyone to this horrible dump i would rather live in a cardboard box behind walmart.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE WORLD!
I am stuck here for another year. The service is the worst. Not only are these people uneducated but becasue you are the tenant they treat you like crap. All of the other reviews are right, maintenance I believe do try sometimes, but the office personnel should all be fired. They are lazy, incompetant, poor in their paperwork handling and talk down to you. Not to mention, they lie to get you in their homes. What is bad, they use their lease agreement as threats to you knowing you basically have zero rights anyway!

Steve is always confused, Rita the manager is a spiteful piece of trash, and some chick named Dana is always in another world with a major ugly attitude.

they should change office help, not maintenance
i lived at chestnut ridge apts. for 2 years, and have never been more disgusted with amanager in my life. (rita) The new manager at chestnut ridge is extremely prejudice, and plays favorites for whomever she chooses. And she or her main office decides to raise our rent $30 a month, two times in a 6 month period.I have many problems from them incompetant bumbling idiots in the office, however the maintenance staff will go above and beyond, to see that your problems are fixed, and (mike) the lead maintenance man there for years, even helped me one morning, by giving my car a jump, even though he seemed very busy at the time.the property is well kept up, even though they do have some problems with pipes breaking often, maintenance does its very best at keeping the place nice.

Sux, Sux, Sux.
These people don´t do anything they´re not explicitly told to do. They´re idiots. They don´t let their residents know when they´ll be without water when they´re making repairs. They don´t fix anything on the general property until you complain about it. They won´t even fix their amenities if you do complain about it. The pool/hottub has been closed for over 2 months now with no explanation and they won´t fix it even after residents have complained about it.

I would rather live with my parents!!!
The toilets constantly backup. The staff is rude and condescending. They gave people whose leases expired in Spet and Oct of 2001 NO increase due to the "economy". However I was hit just as hard by the aftermath of Sept 11, 2001, and I was given an increase in my rent of 30.00 a month for a 12 month lease( from 520.00 to 550.00)! My lease is up in July and when I received my renewal letter signed by the Mger, RIta, it stated my rent would by renewed at 550.00 (30.00 more a month) on a 12 month. Two sentences later, It said, "As you can see, there was no increase for a 12 month renewal". It contradicted itself.

I called the office and got Steven. I asked about the letter and about why some people didn´t get an increase and I did? All he could say was, "I wasn´t here then." I asked if I could find out more info about what happened then. He grudgingly said yes and gave me to "RIta". Rita was condescending and rude from the word go. I asked her about the letter. She said that sentence about "no increase" should not be in the letter -- which was signed by her.

I then questioned her about why some people got no increase and some people at a later date did. She said it was becasue the economy was suffering at the time. Well, I suffered and I still had to pay my rent and now pay the rent for those who didn´t get an increase! I said it was discrimination and she said it was fair. She and I argued for awhile. She also refused to tell me who owns the property.
