I've been living here for 2 years and although this is a great location the property is in very poor condition, and to think they have the nerve to try to increase the rent by $200 during my renewal. They have recently slapped some paint on the hallway walls to give an appearance that they are doing something. Problems since I been here: Water has been shut-off over 20 times most of time without notice, many water breaks they pass the cost on to you. Water is brown, you cannot drink or use for basic task like washing your face. Air condition units are very old and not very efficient; the bill will be higher than necessary. Parking spaces that you pay for are contently occupied by strange cars or management move you reserved sign because they don t know what is reserved or not. Electric interruption to the complex has been over 20 times without notice, one time for over 24hr. The worst Appliance you will ever see in an apportment. Very poor lighting at night. Lot of dogs most over 25 lbs. running around without a leach, and owner not picking up after them. Crime happens but the management does not notified residents about the crime issues.     We have lived at this complex for about 3 years. When we first moved in, the reviews were pretty good but once management changed, everything just went downhill. Our apartment or cars never actually got broken into but I think it was the location of our unit (in a main hallway). The water ALWAYS got shut off and management never does anything to compensate - when you call them because you don't have water for 12 hours the office just tells you to suck it up because he's going through the same thing and it's the city's fault. The people in the office are ok - always new except one guy, who's kind of a jerk. The water is also ALWAYS RED. It's disgusting. I'd have to wash my bathroom every 5 days because there will be a ring of red around my tub, toilet, and sink. I feel like I'm going to get cancer from living there. The place is extremely old, walls are extremely thin (you can hear your neighbors' conversations and EVERYTHING in the courtyard), and your rent will go up every year.       I've been living here for several years, and I've been watching this place going down. It's getting so bad these two years, I would've moved out already if I were not leaving Houston in six months. The first year I lived here, everything is good, but after the current management (merion realty) took over this place, everything changed. First, they raised every charge, including shuttle bus and laundry facility, sometimes secretly. The washers and dryers they installed are so problematic that some of them can never read your card, and some of them will charge your card $5 when it's supposed to be $1.25. The parking is getting worse and worse. It's usually hard to find a space after 9pm. The worst thing is, if you park in certain area, there is a higher chance that all of your wheels will be stolen. In the past year, there were several incidence of car break-in or wheel stolen (the latest one just happened two weeks ago!), but the office rarely (only once) notified residents about the safety issues.         Before I give you my rating of Brompton Court Apt this what have to say fist I am a Christian and I believed in God and Jesus and I do not lie or make up things up. Everything I am going to tell you is the truth. Here is about Brompton Court apt Do not rent here, if you do you will soon learn that you get what you pay for! Staff will be nice to you when you meet them, but soon you'll learn what a pain it is to deal with them. Apartment was full of roaches, among other insects. Not a day went by that there wasn't a roach, even AFTER pest control came TWICE. Several water leaks and we had a lot of MOLD!!! Air unbreathable and smelly, something always wrong with the AC system. Did not feel safe at all when coming into my apartment. If you want to live in a nasty, moldy place, then move here.           my family is here and they cut the water off and it will be on and off about 12 hours this go on and on all the times this place is so old in the bathroom the hot water come out brown and the cold water is so warm not even cold I keep telling them in the office and they say not one thing we can do about it I cant take a shower before I go to work. The manager is very rude I have to go stay at other people s house and take a shower and eat because this keeps happening this is the first time they gave a notice that they will cut the water off and they expect you to pay full rent and basically lied and said I had nothing to worry about And they STOP sending Emails and Letter to tell you thing will turn off or if someone Apt get Broken into they STOP sending that info out .             I moved into this complex in 2005 and loved the complex and the management. My neighbor was one of the staff and I could get any problems fixed immediately . In 2009 my husband and I moved apt in the complex and the experience was good they did not charge us for anything . We recently moved last month and I agree since the new management this complex went downhill. Maitenance is awful. They charged us for valet trash but the valet trash people never took away our trash. Finally on move out they charged us for drip pans oven cleaning and carpet cleaning. This was ridiculous as the drip pans I replaced on moving out , the over was clean on moveout and the carpet stain was documented on move in and we had been asking for new carpet for the last two years. Sadly this place is not what it use to be.

              These apartments are older, but adequate and well priced for the area. However, there are some concerns: 1. It's very likely they will tear down these apartments sometime in the next few years. The land that they sit on is "too valuable". There really isn't much you can do about this. 2. They gave me a large concession on my first year because the apartment had been empty for some time. For my first renewal, the only raise in cost was paying for cable TV ($40 group rate), instead of getting it for free. However, for my second renewal (july 2013), they tried to jack my rent up by $300 (through a base rent increase and a reduction of the concession). I told them the next day that this was unacceptable and that I would give notice immediately. She then wrote a number on a piece of paper which amounted to only a $150 raise in the rent, which I accepted. 3. They are renting a unit adjacent to mine to some people who have a short term lease for the summer. They are the worst neighbors in the world.                 I came home on a Sunday night after being out of town to find a quarter inch of water standing in half of my apartment. A hot water line above my room had a leak. I called the apartment complex immediately on their emergency line and got the voicemail. I left a message that my apartment was flooding. When the maintenance worker showed up he went to work without saying anything to me. He could not tell me the procedure for how I was supposed to handle the situation. I asked him if I should get a hotel and he told me that they might reimburse me for the hotel. I packed up a couple of items including my cat and went to the nearest pet friendly hotel.                   I have lived at Brompton Court Apartments for 4 years and for the firs two years things were fine. If you live near a pool area, it can get a little loud on the weekends due to people playing music and loudly talking, but it doesn't bother me. However after two years into living here my apartment had water damage due to an exterior leak. The walls started to bulge and fill with water near my fridge and I had a lot of mold issues. It took maintenance a whole month to clean the mold and fix my apartment. I asked repeatedly for them to fix it and after a lot of effort I had to get my Dad to threaten them. They fixed it right away. Smaller things started malfunctioning around my apartment. THe kitchen light would not turn on anymore due to an electrical issue (not the light bulb).                     My Brompton Court Apt experience is a nightmare comes true. I'm not a difficult person to please at all but these apartments should all be burned down and started all over. I've been a resident since of 2011 & have regretted it ever since. I have had severe ceiling leak issues & it's been repaired numerous times. I requested to be relocated to another unit & the staff asked for a $300 deposit. They want your money! Why would a resident have to pay to relocate when they're being inconvenienced? The noise level in the front (when first entering the gate) is horrible! You can hear everything going on in the units around you. All of my neighbors in every direction are VERY NOISY! The entrance or exit gates or sometimes BOTH are almost always broken where anyone can drive thru the facility.                             DO NOT LIVE HERE! There are many things wrong with this apt complex. Maintenance is slow - it regularly took over a week for requests to be processed. We lived on the 3rd floor, and there was one section of the ceiling that was would suffer water damage when it rained (no leaks, fortunately, but it left an ugly discolored section that would bulge down a bit). The appliances needed repair more than a few times. The neighbors were generally rude, frequently loud, and would sometimes leave vomit in the elevator/stairwell. Management will try and charge you exorbitant fees on move out - you're not going to see any of your deposit back, and you'll have to fight to avoid a several hundred dollar bill for an apartment that's been left in good shape. It's not worth the hassle.

                              RUN AWAY! DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE! It may seem like a good deal, but BROMPTON COURT IS TRULY HORRIFIC! Management is combative, dismissive and incompetent. Maintenance requests are either ignored, forgotten, or fixed in the cheapest possible way. Water outages occur 2-3 times a month on average. There have apparently been numerous thefts in the complex, but they've only told the residents about 1 of them. My bike was stolen despite being chained. They add unadvertised fees to your rent ($25/month trash fee). They lied to me about what I would be getting when I signed my lease (they said I would have hardwood floors, but instead I have cheap vinyl flooring that's constantly peeling up.                                   The management is beyond incompetent. They genuinely have no regard at all for the residents. I have sewer water all over my bathroom from a nonfunctional toilet in my only bathroom. I made a request during business hours and nobody responded. I called the emergency line and evidently it is not an emergency. Yes, sewer water running all over the bathroom floor and not having a useable toilet is not considered an emergency. I have also had problems with getting my refrigerator and my air conditioner repaired. These are essential parts of daily living. I can't wait to move. There are a lot of apartment complexes in Houston. Do not subject yourself to being treated like this!!!!!

                                    We just had an burglary here in Bromton Court Apt. while we were out of town for three days. Police officer who helped us said there was one happened just last week.We asked at to the manager why nobody was informed and she said nothing happened last week. I asked are you going to notify people about burglary in our apartment so that people will beatleast be alert and she said we don t do that. IN TEXAS it the LAW that the Management have to tell there resident's there is a Crime going on I have had really bad experience with them. Oh, nasty leakage from trash, smelly hallways, and cigarette butts and ashes are ALWAYS having to be walked through on our way to our apartment! ------ Be careful, they LOVE to tow cars here! We've had 2 of my daughters overnight nurses towed! A LOT of crime in the complex but none of the residents know about it because the management never informs the residents of it.                                           I would not recommend Brompton Court Apartments. The management is atrocious. All of the managers are rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. When asked simple questions, they provide flippant responses such as "how would I know about the shuttle we offer, I don't drive the bus!". Getting maintenance requests completed in a timely fashion is close to impossible. I have been living here almost a year now and I still have a hole in my ceiling with a pipe coming into our apartment! The walls are thin, and you can hear your neighbor's conversations. They falsely advertise free parking. There is an optional monthly parking fee that reserves you a parking spot. Almost all of the parking spots are reserved, so it is incredibly difficult to find a non-reserved parking spot. Many of the lights in the parking lots are broken and it feels unsafe to walk to my car at night or early in the morning. I have found several cheaper, safer, and more friendly apartments in the same neighborhood. I will not renew my contract with Brompton Court, and I would not recommend the apartments to my worst enemy.

                                            The water is going to be turned off again in the entire apartment complex this Wednesday, 08/14/13, for at least 8 hours. Last time they turned off the water on July 31, for over 10 hours, again - in the entire apartment complex. No hot or cold water during these shutdowns. Horrible!!!

                                              It was awful, especially the staff. They made mistake date when i moved on, and they had lied to me at the first time. Fortunately, my contract just for four months. However, they haven't returned my security deposit $500 yet since I moved out on Dec 29 2012. Don't rent this apartment!!

                                                I do not think the complex maintanence did a good job. The facility is very old which gives a lot of AC and refrigerators' problems. The staffs responded to repair requests very slowly. Once I have to wait three weeks in the summer to get my AC fixed. The Hallways and Laudary rooms are usually not clean. I had cockroaches problems as well. In general, it is not a good place to move in.

                                                  The new management at this apartment complex is incompetent, sleazy and fraudulent. Once the tenant moves out they look to find small or non-existing faults to extract money from the the former tenant. For anyone considering renting there beware of 1. Faulty elevators, 2. mice 3. large ugly water bugs and roaches. 4. Airconditioning problems and break downs 4. Pluming problems. 5.Managements is not responsive to apartment problems, and very slow to complete repairs. Do not be fooled by the seemingly lower rents. This is due to lower quality. I know, I lived there for 2 years and I suffered the consequences. Finally I moved out, I left the space in better condition than when I moved in. In spite of that they had the nerve to try to extract $275 for nothing. I used to deal with a lady April who was fair and decent in her dealing with tenants. When I called to complain about this unfair charge I was informed that April left the company. A new manager named Roger was very rude and refused to listen to my complaint. If you consider the Brompton Court Apartmnts for a residence THINK TWICE. It is only going to be trouble.
