Not bad/ Pretty good
So there are some scathing reviews about Brompton Court and I really want everybody to get a balanced sense of this apartment since most people who have no to little complaints won't write reviews online. I have lived in Brompton Court for about a year now and the only complaint I really have is that my bike got stolen when I had it locked in one of the racks outside. Theft happens everywhere in Houston and maybe, just maybe even the world. Sure the management could put up cameras or hire a security guard to deter theft- but theft will always happen. Plus, I can only imagine how much more rent one would have to pay for these added measures. About the apartment and the complex: 1) The gym is small but since I work out infrequently and am not very picky, it works for me. 2) Maintenance has been decent- I've had two work orders (1 done in the same day and the other within a week) 3) Parking is not a problem at all- I have my own "reserved" spot but didn't pay extra 4) My 1 BR is spacious and clean when I bought it 5) The kitchen had decentā¦Ā See More>ralten

Frequent Target for Burglary and Theft
There is no security to speak of at Brompton Court. While there is a key-activated front gate, cars without keys regularly wait outside for some with a key and follow that car in. I've lived here 10 months, and in that time both my apartment and my car have been broken into, totaling over $6,000 of damages/lost property. Every person in the complex that I've talked to about it either has had a break in or knows someone that has. The management acknowledges that theft is a huge issue, but is unwilling to do anything about it: The day after my place was broken into, I went to the front office to file a statement and give them the police report. I further expressed my frustrations with the lack of security. The woman in the office said the manager would contact me very soon. I did not hear back for a month. Otherwise, the place is good. Thick walls such that you'll never even know you have neighbors, good location, good price. Maintenance is slow, but they get the job done. If it wasn't for the fact that in the last 6 months Brompton has been increasingly targeted by thieves as fruitā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Just moved in
We just moved in and I wanted to write a review that we like our place a lot. We got significantly more space than the other apartments in this area for less money than the othe rplaces wanted. The drawback is that the apartments are a little older than some of the other places, but they have character and the updates in the units (hardwook floor coverings, marble counters) are nice. Management company has been super helpful and friendly. We moved here from New York, and weren't able to view our apartment before signing a lease and moving. However, April in the front office held our hands the entire time, describing the place too us and our options. Management even set us up with a corporate guest apartment for a few days until our apartment was ready for move. Overall, great place, management, price and location.

Can't Make Every1 Happy
The last review appeared quite negative so let me say this. I moved here from Ohio and I love this apartment and the Business Mgr. has helped me more than the average apartmt places would. I don't know why people are so angry but I am truly happy and thankful to be living here!!! Thank ALL of the management for GOING ABOVE and beyond you all surely make a difference. Connie

It's really a shame the owner has not maintained the apartment buildings. I loved my huge 971 sq ft 1-bedroom apartment, but chose to left due to the building literally falling apart and not feeling safe. My old apartment has been vacant for quite some time and the only thing that has kept me from wanting it back is the totally unprofessional management and not feeling safe. There were many times I noted and would inform the office that lights were out and they did not care. If my old unit had a W/D inside, I would consider moving back, but the truth is, I believe less than 1% of the units have a W/D inside. This complex is not safe enough to have to walk to a laundry room. In addition, the fees are ridiculous and the never ending water pipe issues are a total nightmare. I don't know if there are still frequent electrical outages since no one has mentioned them in a while. I would not recommend Brompton Court Apartments to anyone who values their life.

Hate Brompton Court!!
Worst apartment I have ever lived in! It takes minimum 3 days upto 2 weeks to fix maintenance issues. But the maintenace staff are always seen relaxing and chatting around the complex and in the garages. pathetic management of staff..the quality of fixtures and building is extremely poor. The maintenance staff are also rude and inefficient. I always have two maintenance staff in my apartment to fix the same issue. Ineficient and unproductive maintenance staff!! If you dont want to move out very soon, please donot move in to this apartment.

Roaches everywhere in the apartment.
I have been staying for one year and I cant wait it to be over.Roaches are everywhere in the apartment and nothing helped to get rid of them. Just a nightmare. Cant wait to leave this place. The parking is ok. The pool they dont clean it very often. It is a quite area but the management charge some extra unknown fees.Roaches in the building 2 is the big problem. Do something common...old place attracts them..

Not Renewing
This used to be a nice place to live; however, that all changed with the new management and staff. They are lazy, uninterested in residents, and never smile. We will be looking for some place else to live. They don't make improvements to all areas, but claim to have made them. The parking is horrible, lighting is poor, and the bonus you get for renewing a lease is a painted wall! Come on! Not happy here at all and I don't feel safe!

DO NOT LEASE HERE.....
Power outtages, horrible new management, incorrect billing, roping off parking then painting near your car without warning, a/c in gym leaks / stinking up the gym, along with the coke machine that stinks up the gym, maintenance will eventually show up and remove something from your garbage disposal and leave it on your sink along with leaving other various items in your apt, the a/cs on the roof vibrate and keep you up, a few apartments have been broken into and then Brompton hires security for a week, cars have been broken into, a lady was held at gun point in the parking lot, this place is unsafe!!! And the gate always breaks. I've had to manually open the outgoing gate to get into the complex. That's his secure Brompton is. I pay 75 bucks more a month now for an updated apartment with a security guard at the gate. Don't lease at Brompton, there are much better places.

New managment, they are aweful instead of awesome
I just wanted to list several facts here, and believed that all mature people could figure out what's going on there. 1) elevator: broken every week 2) Gate: the complex gates stopped working at least 2 days per week, and they either cannot be open or cannot be closed (the 2nd situation happens more often). Recently, around 1AM someday, I was kept out of the complex for almost an hour, because no one could open the gate. 3) Voltage: sometimes, the ceiling lights and bathroom lights flicker because of the instability of voltage. 4) fees: New manage group here just rises the fees from almost $20/month to around $35/month. 5) Washer: some washers are "partially" working. What does that mean? It washes clothes, which is fine; But then they just leave clothes there without piping out water. I experienced the above at least once a month. Well, the problem is you never know which washer is working. 6) Dryer: a dryer caught fire once. I saw smoke coming out from the laundry room, and after that 1/5 of the laundry room turned into black. 7) bugs: The good thing is I just saw roaches once throughout the year (I never cook), and the bad thingā¦Ā See More>88renterhappy

Getting uglier every day
I decided to not renew here because the building is too old. It has been poorly maintained and the units are showing their age. Within walking distance you can find great deals from many new builds and get a much better deal -plus, recent reviews about new management are fair and accurate: there has been a very negative change in the last few months (and they dream with making rentals more expensive! -lol ) It was ok until last year: maintenance on time, no unwanted incidents, but since the end of the year we have heard some unpleasant incidents. Some cops live in the complex, but this didn't even help much. In conclusion: this is a place to avoid

How to riun a community
This used to be a good community but the Florida company that just bought the complex seems to be doing all they can to ruin what was a good place to live (fortunately you can find better and more convient options within walking distance...) You used to see here doctors and people from Rice University, but now lots are living (no blame, with facilities in such disrepair) You now can see broken walls, walkway and floors instead... It is a shame...

Great Place to live and courtesy staff.
I have been at Brompton Court Apts. for 8 months and I absolutely love the place. I have had no security issues nor do I here of any and the staff is wonderful. I will certainly re-sign again when my lease is up because of the staff and the peace, safe, home like feel. I am very pleased.

NEW HOME!
Houston is so huge and there appears to be an apartment on every corner here. Coming from Ohio this is a culture shock to me. I did a lot of searching 5 months ago and I must say it wasn't easy, however I am glad that I chose these apartments. I am conveniently located and since I am unsure of all the different streets, I am glad to be on the bus line for now. I was so overwhelmed when I first got in town but thanks to April Rasa and her compadres I am home!! Thank you for making me feel like I have a family here:)

NO POWER NO WATER
This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. I have had power outage 2 times in the past 4 months and had to stay in the hotel for those 2 days. I was not even reimbursed the amount I spent. It was really hard especially with 2 kids and during the winter. I have also had the water problems. The management stops water without any intimation and when asked they always blame the City of Houston. The people in the leasing office are big liars. They always say the supply will be back in 30-45 minutes but it always takes 15-18 hours. Never ever think of leasing an apartment here. Its the worst place to live in especially without basic amenities like power and water.

Website down for a week
I'm guessing they took it down themselves because of the volume of complaints. Lord knows they do not go to work to provide customer service assistance to the residents. They are posting rentals on Craigslist. Now that is what I call desperate.

Brompton Court is a Wonderful Place to Not Live
Where do you start? I have lived at this property for years and just recently large changes have taken place. The largest of which is the property coming under new management. Things new management has done. 1. Created false demand for paid parking spaces by blocking off whole sections of normally available parking spaces due to repairs. The repairs are done, and a nice sign/rope/cones are threatening towing of vehicles if you park there. The management is trying to dupe residents of buildings next to a parking garage to pay monthly for a spot when plenty were available before they roped them off. These residents had to park in the garage or have a long walk to and from their cars. The front gate is consistently and as of this time, broken. It let's in whomever and let me tell you that I've lost track of how many cars I've seen missing wheels/on blocks and windows broken out. Old management hired an HPD officer to patrol the premises after a few residents were robbed at gunpoint. These new managers don't care. The office staff is clueless and not trained well at all. I saw some resident instructing an employee on what the resident neededā¦Ā See More>anonymous

DON'T MOVE IN... SERIOUSLY
This used to be a nice place before the new administration came in September. The manager is the rudest ever and they just want to increase the rates for everything, sending notes to the apartments telling you that you owe money. The security is not good at all. The main gate (and only one available) is open most of the time. They covered many parking spots and lied about their reason to do so. Finally they uncovered them without explaining why, it was just to make people pay to get a reserved one. The only good thing is the maintenance team, they try their best to do a good job. The bill is getting different as it always did and they don't send any messages or mass emails explaining what they're doing. Things have definitely changed a lot and we can't wait to move out!!

LOVING MY NEW HOME
I recently moved here from out of the country. I had the best experience from an extremely helpful staff. I communicated by email originally with Elizabeth who was more than happy to send me pictures and all the necessary information to lease over the internet site unseen. When I was shopping around online and the area Brompton had the best price and amentities in the Medical Center. When I arrived into town Elizabeth was off, but the rest of the staff was more than happy to show me around the complex. My paperwork was ready as well as my apartment in excellent condition right in front of the pool. My apartment is close to the Medical Center where I am currently working on an internship. I use the shuttle service that is offered by the complex even at $ 2 a token it is still substancially cheaper than parking every day. The bus picks up every hour. I have a large dog and this is one of the only complexes that would accept my 'baby' and the jogging trail is right outside of the complex. I love taking him for a jog. Not sure what everyone is complaining about, butā¦Ā See More>anonymous

From Bad to Worse
Moved out. Lease went up 30% to renew for 12 months(it went up about 5% every term on previous renewals)!!!! 30 percent with NO improvements made except to the leasing office; just dead plants, burned-out lights, broken fixtures, water leaks, etc over the last year!! Absolutely insane. They are starting a "valet" trash pick-up which means people leave their nasty trash in the halls, and they charge you $25 a month to pick it up whether you like it or not. Water and electric goes out ALL the time--winter, summer, fall, spring (I'm talking one or the other several times a month that I know of). The 4 hours events (lasting up to 12 hours) they email about now after lots of complaints (some are "scheduled" and some are not). The thing is water will also go out for a hour or so all the time during the day, you may be there to notice and may not; they hope not and don't tell you. Places used to be spotless for new move-ins, but I don't ever see them changing out carpets or anything anymore; they charge whoever moved out an extra fee if they have to cleanā¦Ā See More>999happyrenter

New Management from FL has ruined this place
A new company from Florida took over and, proud of their "Aggresive Management Style" has moved to implement measures that are ruining the place... You will find that parking is deficiently available (they intend to make more money by renting more reserved spaces)after making existing parking space unavailable. Mainteinance is poor (laid off lots of mainteinance staff), pipelines break, foundation problems growing, and facilities in general have deteriorated. Construction and repairs have been neglected and at one of the garages they have sustained a dangerous situation of disrepair for several months... But you will see that new management keeps trying to charge more!

NIGHTMARE!!!
Brompton Court has become a nightmare with this new management. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, crime free, comfortable community with an excellent, knowledgeable staff... don't move here. Oh, and I totally agree on the safety issue being an issue. If it wasn't then we wouldn't be seeing cars on cinder blocks all the time because their wheels are getting stolen.

Don't move here. Seriously.
This complex has a lot of very old units, and they have problems frequently. With that in mind consider that there is a new management staff that could care less about it's residents. The previous management cared about the residents, and moved quickly to resolve reasonable problems like mentioned above. The new management DOUBLED THE COST OF THE BUS TICKETS FOR THE CANCER PATIENTS!! You don't get much lower than that.

New management
New mangement took over on October 1, 2010. In 40 years of apartment living I have never lived with the filth that I have experienced in the last two months. Residents pay $50 a year toward garbage pickup and immediately with new management, my area had one container removed (left 3). Garbage overflows and is having to be put on the ground because now there is not enough room. On January 3, the garbage folks only emptied the containers and left all the garbage that was on the ground. The building floors are filthy. Prior to October 1, would have recommended...but not now.
