Concerned resident
Dear reader: Recently management changed, here are a few things to consider: No notice of change was given to residents, then we receive a bio from office staff bragging that they are from some swamp college in Florida. No longer do we get rent billing or statements. Community web site does not work any longer, no online rent options. Several parking spaces are roped off and yellow caution taped for no use. Front area wall fell down and not repaired for over 2 months now. Metal band installed on some trees to stop squirrels from their natural habitat. My lease is expiring and I will be moving out, I am sure they do not care, it is a shame that the previous people that worked in office are gone, at least they cared, meaning Eric Brown & Kit the previous manager. I wish I knew where the went to. Very Concerned Resident.

The real skinny on the crime in this area
The crime over here on Brompton Road is off the hook. The manager is telling us (the residents)to write positive reviews on this site for a chance to win free rent. Maybe they are hiding something... Could it be the crime? Please feel free to verify any of this at www.CrimeHouston.com . In the last 12 months on this short little block (that includes Brompton Court, Camden Vanderbilt and Berkshires on Brompton) there have been: 7 AUTO THEFTS (2/12/10, 7/15/10, 7/24/09, 9/2/10, 10/26/09, 10/26/09, 11/25/09), 2 RAPES (1/24/10, 2/10/10), an ARMED robbery (11/14/09), 25 BURGLARIES(7/01/09, 7/02/09, 9/02/09, 9/22/09, 2/28/09, 10/12/09, 10/12/09, 11/25/09, 12/19/09, 12/09/19, 12/28/09, 12/28/09, 12/31/09, 1/04/10, 2/03/10, 2/10/10, 3/10/10, 4/22/10, 4/30/10, 6/02/10, 6/16/10, 7/18/10, 7/23/10, 8/20/10, 9/21/10), 62 THEFTS from the parking lot (too many dates to list here). So I think you should just keep looking at other options. I know I am moving when my contract is up. The new management team is horrible.

HORRIBLE PEOPLE AT MGMT
Brompton is trying to charge me with $950 as moving out bill. I left the apartment was completely clean. I left on the yard the stuff that was there when I moved in. Never thought the bedroom mirror was not theirs... Never thought the kitchen hangers and decor was not theirs... Now I am getting billed for all of those items' removal, plus the cleaning ($200) of the carpet which was perfect except for the presence of an a spot ($85) that was there before I moved. Yes, you heard, billed for the spot and for the cleaning it separately!!! I complained to the Better Business Bureau and I suggest you do the same if you had problems with MGMT. I will take my case to court through my lawyer, will never ever pay them that money if I can avoid it. I am really disgusted with the place and its management. THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS THAN BROMPTON. Also, they destroyed my yard for electricity repairs and never repair the damage. I attached pictures of how the thing was left. Obviously, they killed all my plants. Ok to live in, can't get my deposit back
We lived at Brompton for about 3 months (moved here for a medical rotation at BCM). The actual apartments aren`t bad (kitchen and bathrooms were a little old, outside furniture was dusty, but other than that, everything was pretty nice). While we were there the staff was very polite and helped us solve any problems quickly (we had to have our apartment fumigated and the kitchen sink fixed). HOWEVER, after we moved out, we were told we would receive a letter within 30 days, letting us know what would happen with our deposit ($500). Two months later, we hadn't received anything so I emailed them but received no reply. About a month later I called them and was told they would email me with an answer but they never did. I emailed the management group I they replied and contacted the manager for me. I never heard from them again. It has been 5 months since we moved out and we still haven't gotten our deposit back. My lawyer suggested suing them in Small Claims Court, which I'm thinking of doing. If you do move in to Brompton, don't expect to get your deposit back. Or better yet, save yourselfā¦Ā See More>anonymous

New Management is horrible
Since October the management has been changed and every thing is going to be ugly. They use every thing to charge you but they don't give you service. Our house is full of cockroaches and every time that I am asking them for pet control they are postponing it to Wednesday...and nobody shows up in Wednesday! The pool is dirty and you can't use it at all, at all! Overall, with this new management and staff every thing makes you to run away from this complex!

Adequate for the price you pay.
I lived here for almost 3 years. I thought if I live somewhere in Medical Center nicer area it would be safe. Yes, it was a cheap rent and convenient living inside the loop near shops complexes and hospitals. However, in the first 3 months, I got my car break-into in the garage parking. I think that day many cars got break into ( I am not sure) so they installed more lights in the walkway and parking garages. After one year, my car get a second break-in. And right 2 months before I moved out my car got stolen from my reserved parking spot in the parking garage. I let the management know as soon as possible however the staff will not let the neighborhood know because the police already found my car and it's not like it's gone forever. I actually like living here during the day, the staff were helpful and nice, the landscaping is beautiful but not so much at nights. I checked my mail, pay rent, and do laundry (on-site facilities) as quickly as possible and I tried to do all not after 9pm because I did not feel safe at all. The rent isā¦Ā See More>sanmi

This place is not suitable for human being to live.
I moved in during June 2010, and have been living there for 2 months. What has happened? The following are truth instead of my personal opinion! 1) A loundry room blowed up once, and it took workers around 2 weeks to fix it! Two weeks! 2) Those elevators stop working at least once a week. 3) Power outrage during each heavy thunder storm 4) Hot water outrage has happened twice in 2 months 5) My AC stops working 3 times in half a month. 6) The front doors didn't work nearly every day. (Didn't work means that anyone could just drive in) 7) If you want them to fix anything, just call them 3 times per day.

Argh, took a week just to get an ac filter changed. Electric out in the building for an entire day/night. Some residents had to get a hotel. The place could be cleaner but overall is ok for the age. The staff in the office is helpful. The gates out front are broken much of the time. Laundry facitlities could be cleaner and you must have a Web Card to use them which you fill with credit card or check. Sometimes the card works after 3-4 tries and the office says...I don't know why that is happening. Others say its happening too...that stinks when you've walked all the way to the laundry and put your soap/bleach only for your card not to work...then the bleach is already in the machine so what happens to the next person whose card does work and they throw colored laundry in...sign above the machines saying office not responsible for damage to clothing due to bleach...THEN FIX THE PROBLEM!!!

My thoughts on Brompton
I have been a resident here for over 11 years. the staff and manager seem to be friendly and outgoing, they try to take care of any issue I have had. The landscaping here is nice, they do a good job keeping the trees trimmed and the grounds nice and neat. Over all I love my home, I will be renewing my lease once again. If you are out walking, stop and talk to people, it is a great way to meet people and know your neighbors. we have a new dog park, it is a nice area. I revised my previous statement, thought I was too personal. Brompton court nicce.

Look somewhere else
I've been here nearly 5 years. The quality of these apartments went drastically down when Rockwell management took over from Archestone. It's a pretty frequent occurance when we are without water without any prior warning. The break ins have been on the rise since 3 years ago. I know 3 neighbors whose homes have been broekn into. Today I came home to find that my refrigerator has been moved out of its original slot, with a broken baseboard strip sitting on my stove. They did not tell me they were planning on entering my apartment. on top of which they did not even move the refrigerator back where it belong. I feel less and less secure living here. I would seriously look somewhere else with better security before I rent here.

Brompton Court Review
Even though there's a chance to win 6 months of free rent, I do want to take the time to say that I've lived here for almost two years now and it's been relly great! The staff is very nice, they are always willing to help in any way possible. The maintenance staff also resolves any problem in a short time. There's a shuttle that leaves every hour to the medical center which is only 10 minutes away. Overall, it has a very convenient location. There is also a convenience store inside and 5 pools, so they are never full. Although the workout center is somewhat small, it's very complete. In general it's a good value for your money and a comfortable place to live in.

Management Plummeting
I've lived here since 2007, and I *loved* our old manager. Kit Snyder *enjoyed* her job and made an effort every single day to uplift spirits and make our residence a home. Rockwell (previous mngmnt company) was apparently bought out by our current management recently. Nothing is jumping out as "out of control," however there's absolutely no community. The management staff is totally lazy, unwilling to help, makes no effort to reach out, and clearly puts no heart into their job. It's uninspiring to live here, so I'd recommend it to people who spend zero time at home or who are dead inside - and that's it.

Great for Pet owners
This is a pet friendly apartment complex that has a dog park available for 24 hr use. It is equipped with pick up stations and there are lots of places to walk dogs within and around the complex, including the Brays Bayou which is a stones throw away.

Great Apartment!
I have lived in Bromton Court for almost a year now and i love it here! The complex has a gaited entrance, multiple pools, plenty of parking, shuttle to medical center, convenience store, and a workout center! I would definitely recommend this apartment complex to anyone trying to find a place really close to the medical center!

Misleading reviews
Please note that management has been entering anyone who writes a positive review (and brings a copy to the management office) into a lottery for a chance for 6 months' free rent. This may have led to improved recent reviews (this inducement was first offered around April 2010). The apartments are large and inexpensive. Every quarter there is at least one day that repairs in the water supply require turning off the water for that day (usually not a problem). It is quite. There have been break ins, car thefts and even a mugging (no more than at any other apartment community in the medical center and museum district).

Great Apartments
I have lived in Brompton Court for almost a year now and have been very pleased with my experience. It s in a great location, good for those who work near or in the medical center. Also, for nights out or shopping, rice village is only 2 minutes away. The staff is attentive and helpful. It s a gated apartment complex with plenty of covered parking. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment that also has study, which we converted into another room, creating a 3 bedroom apartment. We were all impressed by the exceedingly spacious living area and open design of the apartment. Since it is so expensive to park within the medical center one unique thing that Brompton Court offers is a charter bus ($1 per ride) that leaves every hour during weekday working hours and has different drop offs throughout the medical center area. For the amount of space, the location, and convenient transportation it s quite affordable and a wonderful place to live!!

Nice Community
Brompton Court is a nice community to live in. There is a diverse population of residents ranging from students, med center employees, people who need to be close to the med center, and some very long-term residents. It is a quiet place with great parking. I like the garages because I can park my car in the shade on those searing Houston Summer afternoons. Covered parking is a great ammenity. The laundry facilities are clean and maintained. The card loading feature is helpful so that you don't have to keep up with buckets of change (flashbacks from college years). The gym is secured with a lock so you can feel comfortable working out all hours of the night. The equipment is nice and there is usually enough to go around. While an extra machine or two would be helpful, I think it does the job just fine. The community has trees and folliage all around, giving it a 'homey feel'. Maintenance is always out and about keeping up with the beautification. It really makes a difference and thier efforts are greatly appreciated. I have lived in apartmentsā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Really love this place
When my roommate and I decided that we each wanted separate apartments, my choice was clear. I did not want to leave the community. I love the location, the wonderful ammenities, the great staff, and the community as a whole. The manager is awesome and helped me through the onsite transfer with ease. The day I brought it up she found a wonderful 1 bedroom within my price range. I was a little surprised because with the location I had the expectation that I could not afford a 1 bedroom in the community. But I am very happy that I can stay. Each building has its own pool, so the pools are never crowded. Actually, they stay pretty empty during time that I want to use it. I think it is because there are so many to choose from. You don't have to use the pool in your building, but it is there for convenience. I know in the winter many people take advantage of the heated pool.

Just So So
I have lived here for 2 years and we have certainly had our ups and downs. I think it is decent price for our area. It is not as nice as the surrounding apartments but it more affordable. They are starting to make some improvements, prompted by safety concerns. They are also entering people in a drawing to win free rent if they leave a good review. That is why there is a strange amount of glowingly positive reviews. Overall, I don't mind living here, I had looked at the surrounding apartments and this the largest apartment for the price, so we all to make concessions somewhere.

Wonderful place to call home
I lived there while my daughter was a patient at TIRR and it was so close to everything. The maintenance was taken care of when needed and the entire complex is awesome. Plan on moving back when I move back to Houston.

Staying Put
I didn't have a lot of time to look for an apartment when I moved to Houston. I'm not terribly picky, but after a whole day of looking, I was about ready to give up. My last stop was Brompton Court and I was instantly satisfied that this was the place. The mature trees and lush landscaping make the whole complex stand out. The rent was cheap and the staff seemed nice. The apartments all looked big, clean, and well taken care of. After awhile, I was convinced that there just had to be something wrong about the place. Every maintenance request went through promptly, every questioned was taken care of instantly, there were no noisy neighbors. I thought surely this place is too good to be true, I bet that next year they will jack the rent and I will be forced to leave this haven. Well, when it was time to renew my rent hardly changed at all! I love the location right next to the bayou with the bike paths. Great for Dog Lovers
I have lived here for 3 years and have always been very happy. My favorite feature is the lush landscaping - it's a beautiful place to walk my dog every day. What's more, they even just put in a small dog park; my dog is able to play with other dogs while I am able to get to know my neighbors. Other positive aspects: the staff is very friendly, the apartments are big, the neighbors are quiet, the parking is ample, the store is convenient, and the location is great. Rating Brompton Court Apartments on Brompton Blvd by Medical Center
Been here over 4 yrs. Switched apartments a few times to find the one most suited to my tastes. Management always helped me out in this process and talked candidly and fairly about rent. The bottom line is this complex is old, things break but they attempt to fix problems in a fast manner. For what is offered its worth it, remember we're talking blocks from the medical center. Try out the rents on other area apartments. If there new your looking at a bundle.
