Ok this place looks like crap, but hear me out first!

Bent Tree was one the nicest places I've lived at. This was the first apartment I moved into when I moved to San Antonio and I was put off by there being no gate, the community being built in the 70's, and the look of the exterior buildings. I didn't have very much money and decided to go with this place. I was completely blown away by how quiet and peaceful it was living here. When something broke the maintenance was there to fix it right away. The front staff was very helpful as well. Always with a smile and willing to chat on any questions or concerns I had. This has to be one of those ""don't judge a book by it's cover" kind of places. Lived here for 7 months. Would 100% recommend to a friend. When I left I had no problems moving out or getting charged any fees. I didn't get 100% of my deposit back but to be honest I really didn't feel like cleaning and was tired after the moving process. I did get 60% back which was more than to be bargained for.

Future Homebuyers Beware

Beware of this place if you want to buy a new home in the future. They figure out ways to lock you into your lease, and DO NOT have a homebuyer's clause. So if you want to buy a home, expect to pay out the rear just to move out, a minimum of 500 bucks, plus two months rent. They will try to cover thier own butt and talk smooth, but they are dirty. Before we moved out due to buying a new home, they were building a new retaining wall, only because the city made them do it. And the railing on the retaining wall was not built all the way up. So there was about a 3 or 4 foot gap maybe more, where your children could fall down about 5 feet. A serious safety issue that was not addressed. Maintenance was poor. It took them forever to fix our air conditioner last summer in the heat. We had to call and complain many times. The community laundry rooms are dirty. They have a hands off policy and don't take care of them. As of the day we moved out, one washing machine still was not fixed after numerous complaints. Several of the dryers were broken and would not dry clothes. The stray cat population was pretty bad. It is clear they only care about money at this place. The neighbors are very noisy. It was always loud. Couresty patrol didn't seem to enforce the already bad noise policy.

It was hard to believe

I moved from another place and was real worried about move to place I had not looked at. My friends all said great things so I trusted they knew and did everything through their online system and email with the office. My friends were right! I loved when I lived there and was sad to leave. The office ladies were really nice and always smiled when I came in. The maintenance workers came quickly and always fixed my things fast. The two places I have lived since then have been horrible. If I ever go back to Texas I want to be in the Bent Tree homes.

Home Sweet Home

I have lived here twice in the five years I have been living in San Antonio and could not say enough about how great the community is. The manager has been there a long time and reallly has a great staff. They really made me feel like it was a home and were always patient when I had lots of questions. When there is a maintenace problem it was fixed quick. Is it an older community with some problems from time to time? Yep! The difference is that they are quick to fix the problem and get things back to normal. I lived at new community and things were wrong all the time and the staff was mean and horrible. I am loving Bent Tree so will you too.

Bent Tree Rant/Rave

Here's a bunch of random stuff in my brain about Bent Tree: I have been at this complex for about 8 months now and have never had a problem. When I first moved in I seriously thought I was the only person in my building because it was SO QUIET. Before I moved here I would sometimes drive through the complex and I had the same impression - SO QUIET and NOTHING crazy or rowdy going on here. I have never felt unsafe or heard of anything weird or messed up happening here. The staff is super nice and always willing to help. True - crap happens in a building that is 30 years old (or whatever) but they are always willing to hop on it and correct things. (IE tiles falling off in the bathroom, water not draining properly, that kinda stuff...) They have a pretty good collection of DVD's in the leasing office that you can rent for free. It's updated every month or something. If you're like me and you are constantly over-paying for stuff at the RedBox then you'll love this amenity. Somebody once said this place is infested with cats...I don't know where they're lookin' because I've only seen 3 cats in the last 8 months and I do stroll around the complex fairly often. I've seen mostly families here, some college students and maybe one hoodrat-looking person...but he looked more like an ex-hoodrat so I didn't bat a lash at that one. ;) It seems like everyone else is hiding. Like I said, this complex is very low-key. I put 5's on everything because I think some of the reviews on here are unfair. Most things would get a true 5-star rating but for stuff like Construciton and whatnot I'd only knock it down to like a 4. Hope this helps. Best Place I've Lived in San Antonio

I lived at Bent Tree for a year and I can say it is that best apartment complex I lived in in my 6 years of living in San Antonio. The apartment staff is fantastic! They do a great job of remembering who you are by name and take the time to get to know you as a person, not just a resident. The community is great, everyone is friendly. I've always felt safe here. Parking was never an issue, always found a spot one right in front of my place. Most important for me was that they were pet friendly and the apartment was a great size for the price! My only negatives about the apartment was that the kitchen counter space was lacking. I had to store most of my appliances under the cabinets, because there was no room for them up top. Other then that, I would recommend this place to all of my friends!

so sad to be leaving

I would like to start by saying "thank you" to all the staff at Bent Tree. I can truly say that my son and I were able to call Bent Tree "home" for over two years and it's all because of all their hard work that we felt that way. I am a single mom and the fact that we always felt safe at Bent Tree means a lot to us. Thank you to the Maintenance Manager for always taking care of the maintenance issues. Thank you to the Assistant Manager for always helping with any questions, concerns, or issues. A huge thank you to the Manager for truly showing that you care and always being there to resolve any issues we had. We will truly miss all of you guys and the complex.

unfortunate

its been an absolute nightmare and im counting the days until i can move out. we've reported bedbugs numerous times and the manager refuses to acknowledge it. all they've done is try and cover their own behinds. the cats are everywhere!! i wake up in the morning and my apartment smells like cat pee. i have no pets. completely unsanitary. its a shame, because ive read reviews where people really enjoy their time here, unfortunately this experience has been terrible. and i DO NOT recommend these apartments. you may be lucky and have a nice time, or you may be plagued by infestation, your choice...

Love my home

I have been here a while now and love it. When I first moved two years ago I moved because of the price. I usually only stay in an apartment for a short lease but am glad I have stayed as long as I have. When something breaks they fix it quickly. Everyone here is friendly. I am close to work. Most of all I feel safe. It is an older community but you would never think it since they are always working to make it better. I think the only reason I would move is to buy a house but that will be later.

easy move i ever made

i leased my apt. without seeing it and was worried it would not be a good move. i was very happy with how easy the lease process was and they made it so i did not have to worry about anything. i just moved and have been very happy. it's a good price and the service is the best i have even experienced in all my 8 years in apartments. i travel a lot and think i will not have to worry when i leave. they make me feel like they care.

THIS PLACE SUKS!! DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT!! FAKES HATORZ AND MASSIVE WANNA BE HARD TYPES HERE! THE OFFICE PEOPLE ARE NICE UNTIL U NEED SOMETHING FIXED! Interested in the truth

I had no idea how much people complain until I read some of the reviews below. It is intersting how much people want to blame others. I have only lived here about 6 mo. and only had one bad experience but when I went in they made sure it was fixed quickly. Every one in the office is always ready to help if I have a problem. Maintenance fixes things when they are broken. The neighbors are quiet. I am close to school. I get to check out DVDs in the office. That's the truth so I am not sure where the rest of these people live but don't think it's here.

Glad I Renewed!

I moved here from out of state two years ago and liked my first impression so chose Bent Tree. Maintenance back then was horrible but after a staffing overhaul things have improved drastically. The truth is I have had issues from time to time but things always get fixed. I have been in the office and hear some of the people complaining and it's pathetic what they think they can get away with. I would never be able to listen to that but the girls really work to make sure everyone is taken care of. I read some of these reviews and really have to question them because I am glad I chose Bent Tree.

Two neighbors very noisy

We have been here for over a year. We have had two different upstairs neighbors and they have both been very noisy. Despite complaining to the leasing office nothing has been done.

I Live Here!

I have lived at this place for over two years and have nothing but good things to say. Before here I lived at the place recommended below on USSA but forget it they are horrible. Nothing was ever working, the pools were gross and the people were rude. When I have a problem here the office seems like they want to help and are always so nice to me. They call their maintenence and next thing it is fixed. I think it is funny how some people have to blame others for their problems and just prefer to be miserable. I have never had a problem with anyone here, I really like living here because it is close to my work and friends too. It has only gotten better since I moved in so I plan to be here as long as possible.

nice staff & quite and peaceful

I been living here at Bent Tree over one year and its been great to me. I love it here and plan on renewing my lease. I know that everything here is not so great but, overall its pretty good. The staff here is very helpful and the maintence guys are always working and keeping this property looking good. I wish they could keep up with the pet waste thats left behind by resident. But, pet owers should be cleaning up after thier pets.

WORST APARTMENT EVER !!!!

The worst apartment I could ever stay in.... Recently moved out of it, Thank God !! Worst maintenance and worst staff you could ever deal with. A female with spectacles sits in the leasing office who is always mean to anyone who comes over !! Had a nightmare asking them to clean an AC leak / Bed Bugs Problem / any maintenance.. Recently last month a theft happened in one of the apartments where the thief could just kick the door and get in....You can talk to the apartment guy #143 where the theft happened... Leasing Staff does not cater to ANY request that you ask them... they behave as if they are doing a favor for giving that apartment to you.... DONT GO THERE... NOT SAFE ... NOT RELIABLE ... WORST MAINTENANCE .... WORST STAFF !!!!!

Friendly and Professional Staff

Today was the last day of my lease, so I decided to write a review about my experience at Bent Tree. The Bent Tree Staff in my opinion, where one of the friendliest and professional staffs I have ever dealt with. Samantha and Sheryl are great at there jobs and have pride as it shows. They always say hello, smile, call you by your name and they tend to your issues and concerns. I have had a few issues there at the apartments,(none of which were their fault) and they always went above and beyond to help. The maintence staff also is friendly and prompt with there service. Not every apartment is perfect. The main issue I had was I never had hot water. But I believe they are currently working on fixing that issue. Overall I would recommend this place. And I definetly do not agree with some of these comments, the staff is wonderful.

Quiet and nice

TOO FAR from being nice and quiet

This is definately not a quite complex.You can here your neighbors all the time in a non pleasant way.Even after 10 PM, can hear pressure cooker whistle, vaccuming, walking with thud's on the floor above as well as wooden steps. I myself was waken up by lous talking and walking thud's and apt moving noise recently around 2:15 AM, to find some body from our building moving their apt, making all the noise.THE APT MANAGEMENT HAS NO STIPULATION, IF THEY DO, DON'T APPLY IT WHEN IT COMES TO NOISE. This apt complex being nice is far from true too. You can see dog left afters[Poo-] all around, vomitus on the parking lots; McDonalds, taco bell, wendy bags atleast 10 places in the parking lot at any time.There is always some bad odor bags left outside of the trash bin. Overall its not at all a well maintained apt. Pity myself living here [contract]. Can't wait to get out in the next few months

Great place so far

I moved here in March 2011. I was looking for something close to work (the Health Science Center) and this place is great. The apartment is large and spacious and the neighbors are really nice.

Good Experience

I have lived here for 8 months and the staff are very friendly. Any time I have maintence request it is taken care of right away. The staff is also caring and friendly with my dog.
