Bent Tree Is My Home!

How do I start? I would not live anywhere else - and have. The past few years have been difficult for me and I have always felt like Bent Tree was my home because of what the staff do eveyday. You can tell this is more than a job for these people because they really care. I could sit here and name all the things I would change but I don't need these things. My home is perfect for my son and I and we plan to stay for as long as we possibly can. I see people on here talking about all the bad they see and wonder if they live in the Bent Tree I do. It looks like it is the same couple of people - and no matter where they live they will not be happy. Keep it up Bent Tree!

    Twilight Zone!!

    It is really risky try to honor the leasing contract. It is pretty unsafe and it is an excellent Unfair Housing example. Staff makes a lot of differences among in their treatment with residents. Example: The White ------ Car, still has a flat tire, which is not flat according to the Manager s statement. It all depends on the moon stage to receive a good or not a good service. The Maint. guys are good, committed with the company, hope soon they find another job in another place. This property does not deserve you.

      Bent Tree Rocks!

      When I moved in things were really rocky - everything was clean except my carpet was not so great. I have been here almost three years and seen a lot of positive things in the community. The manager changed since I moved in and, having lived in apartments a lot, it could go either way but she has been amazing since she got here - there was a lot to do. The maintenance guys she has here are great. They fix things right away and say hi any time I see them. The girls in the office will make you laugh because they are so funny. They makes me want to go sit and talk with them. I wish I could see why these other posts only see it as bad. Bent Tree has only gotten better since I have been here.

        The White ------ Mobile

        There has been a white car on property with the words, "lick it" and "suck it" written all over it parked on property for months. Complaints have been made, but nothing has been done to remove this auto or cleans the filth written all over it. It was quite uncomfortable when my son asked what "suck it and lick it" means! Now this ------ vehicle has a flat tire. Other vehicles have been tagged for flat tires. Why was this vehicle not tagged? Could this be an employee's auto? I wish they would do something about this auto.

          During a recent inspection of the community many vehicles were tagged for towing if they were found to have expired registration or inspection stickers. Other vehicles were identified to be in violation of the community policies and were notified of this as well as the corrective actions that should be taken to resolve the issue. In response to our request made to the resident you are referring to the offensive writing was removed and the tire is being repaired. Should you have additional concerns please contact the office so these can be discussed further.

          HELL on Earth

          I had the worst experience ever. I was without hot water for 2 weeks! even after I complained everyday. I do NOT recommend this place what so ever.

            Bent Tree is a very bad place to live.

            If you like cats trying to run into your apartment, cats scratching the paint on your car, the smell of cat urine, fleas, bed bugs, dark parking lots, your auto being broken in to, cracks in your wall, sex offenders and felons living as your neighbor, rude office staff, maintenance never getting anything done, everything falling apart, having your rent check/money order lost then Bent Tree is the place for you.

              Thank you!!

              Management is working hard with work orders and customer service. Requested my carpet to be cleaned as previous professionals had done a poor job. Yesterday had a new professional carpet cleaners do my apt. and even the carpet has the normal wear and tear now it is nice and clean.

                Bent Tree La ------

                There are so many issues with Bent Tree... 1. Cat, cats and more cats - There are cats everywhere. They are climbing on the cars, sleeping in front of one's front door, trying to run into one's apt, causing the flea problem, and smelling up the place with the odor of urine. 2. Maintenance - Nothing ever gets done. I've even set up an account to enter service request online, but they just close it out stating that the work order had been completed. I've had to go 6 months with out an AC (in the Summer), 2 months without a refrigerator, no hot water, no water, etc... 3. Courtsey Officer - Do we have one? I've never received a response from the courtsey officer when I call. 4. Crime - Lots of car break ins, robbed apts, rape, the office has actually had the windows shot out. Check on-line and get a crime rate report and you'll see that Bent Tree has a high crime rate out of all the apts in the Medical Center. 5. Can't use the laundry room due to the extreme bed bug problem here. 6. The pool is always green. To the manager, don't write your rebuttle after this apt review. For 3 years you've done nothing but lie. You've had plenty of time to prove yourself. Don't write that you are concerned and would be willing to discuss it further. Your words are empty. All you have done is make myself as well as other residents' apartment living experience miserable. We both know the only reason you write your response so that prospective residents will not be scared off.

                Great place to live

                I have lived in Bent Tree for over year and don't see myself moving anytime soon. Things were bumpy at first but since the new team of people have been in the office everything is running beyond smooth. Everyone is friendly and honestly tries to make things good for residents. They're always having different activities like lunch to go and DVD release with popcorn gift bags. Now I too hate the cat problem but honestly what do u expect the office staff to do? how about you(residents,neighbors) stop feeding them and stop putting trash out for them to feed off of. These bad reviews are over exaggerated to say the least....

                  Dear Great Place To Live: I am glad to hear your living experience at Bent Tree has been a positive one, though bumpy at first, and you enjoy the activities we have throughout the month. We continue to explore options to address the cats but have few resources as the City of San Antonio no longer considers a stray cat to be a nuisance, shelters are full and residents within the community continue to feed them, though we have asked that this not be done and have been forced to give violations. I apologize that we are so limited in addressing this concern but assure you it is something we are working to control. This week we were approached by an agency that will work with us to relocate these animals to a safer home and are investigating this as a solution for our community.                   Cats, decks with mold, filty carpets

                  There is a man that feeds the cats everyday.,Population of cats gave grown, they are sick and have fleas, very unhealthy. Decks are slippery with mold and you bring it to your carpets. Safety lightings do not work, building 2 and more do not have lights and in general lighting should be fixed.

                    DO NOT MOVE IN HERE

                    Bent Tree always has move in specials - because a large majority of the apartments are vacant. I lived in building 6 and had no neighbors in my building for about SIX months. The maintenance people SUCK. My AC has been broken for over 2 weeks and it's hot outside. I've asked them to fix it FIVE times and they still won't. Bent Tree staff are courteous, but there's always someone new in the office - they don't stay long. The property owners are from CANADA, so there's no one to complain to locally. And when you do complain, nothing gets done anyway. They have a 22 (TWENTY TWO) page lease as well!! And you can't cancel your lease - even if they don't respond to your maintenance request. I can't wait to move from here. The rent may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. I learned my lesson. I will never live here again.

                      very average apartments

                      Bent Tree is a very mediocre complex. I have lived here for more than a year now and I thought I would quickly put my thoughts into words. Pros: nice staff; I got a good price for a one bedroom; I got new carpet and appliances when I moved in; fairly quiet neighbors (i.e., no loud parties) Cons: thin walls and ceilings that creak and pop a lot when upstairs neighbors walk around (I can't stand this); this is an old complex that very badly needs renovation (the cracks in walls just seem to be thickly painted over, door jambs are worn and wood needs replacing, missing door strikes); close by a questionable/shady apartment complex and even a trailer park next door; parking lot needs to be better lit; the apartment runs on a central boiler system (can cause problems for multiple people when it malfunctions) This is a decent place for a college student, a first-time renter, or a person on a tight budget. I am leaving for a better, newly renovated complex because of the lack of upkeep here at Bent Tree. I would pay a little more to get a little more.

                        Dear HELL NO.

                        1- no i do not work for the complex. 2- those people you hate are from India not Arabs 3- didn't you check you apt. BEFORE you moved in? 4- people next to me are gay...but you probably hate them too. There's been no break in apt/cars on my section since I've been here. People are friendly (except for HELL NO), it took maint. 3 days to refill my A/C feon, but they were BZ. I've had no problems with mangement/people/area. I think HELL NO suffers from low self-esteem, inferior complex, redneckness, low I.Q., and education. RX: MOVE OUT and see a shrink ;-)

Questions asked of your husband were never intended as an accusation but to inquire if we had been able to complete these maintenance concerns. Many attempts have been made to do so and to my knowledge we had been unsuccessful in being able to enter to complete the work. Seeing the previous post was similar to your concerns prompted me to ask him on the status of these work orders, nothing more and I apologize if you found this offensive. You have made it clear you are unhappy with Bent Tree , though we have tried to make you feel welcome, and it was my hope we had been able to complete this work prior to your move out.

                            HELL NO!

                            My husband and i moved here with our 5 month old daughter, and i HATE it! This place is infested with cats, fleas, and ARABS! and it SMELLS!!! our bedroom smells like cat ---- ALL THE TIME! Maintance SUCKS. we called them one time cause our toilet over flowed and it took them over an hour to get there... and two days before they came to clean the carpet. They told us apon move in that they would replace the nasty carpet, and they didn't! The patio rale is about to fall off! there is always bugs! cockroachs, nats... its not cool... DONT LIVE HERE!!!! i wish we had been warned!!!

                              I DO NOT recommend The Bent Tree

                              They are currently "upgrading" the landscaping,new signs, etc. What they need to do is fix the problem with not having HOT WATER!! The back pool is always filthy. The washer/dryers always have problems. If you tell management..they tell YOU TO CALL the company that provides the laundry services. WHAT CRAP! The place looks like "projects" with all the crap on tenants balconies. There were also light fixtures in the groud that had been taken out and the wires were sticking out of the ground.....VERY UNSAFE! If you call for any reason to the office they hardly answer the phones........the voice mail always kicks in. Especially on the weekends

                                There is about a 2-4 month wait on all maintenance requests at this place. I've lived here for over a year and regret moving in. The office staff tells you that they'll "make sure the maintenance request gets first priority" but you end up waiting for months!

                                  A few things need improvement, but overall i liked it.

                                  I lived here for a year and i really had no big problems with the place. When i first moved in, the high traffic spots (carpet) in my apt were pretty dirty and i just cleaned them myself. The main pool, by the leasing office was always dirty, i never got to swim in it once. The pool on the other side of the complex was usually in good shape. Other than that, it was great. The office staff were always very pleasant and helpful. I only called maintenance once while i lived there because my a/c stopped working, but they were really quick to respond. The location was great and convenient to everything. The grounds were kept up pretty well. It was a really quiet place. Overall, i had a good experience, id probably live there again.

                                    I LOVE THIS PLACE!!

                                    i've lived at bent tree for almost 2 years now and i think that all these people who talk about problems they have are just trying to make their petty lives feel better.. i have never had anything wrong with my apartment or anyone else' who i know that lives there...i've had 3 work orders in 2 years and they were done INSTANTLY!! i love living here and i am planning on staying much longer... way to go bent tree

                                        Here at Bent Tree the safety and happiness of all our residents is a priority. Unfortunately, when crime rises in the area, it can hit anywhere. Although Bent Tree has felt, from time to time, the rise in crime, it is certainly few and far between. We have made, and will continue to make, improvements to prevent crime and suspicious activity in our community but cannot do this alone.                                         Awesome Management!!!

                                        I moved into Bent Tree this past May. I have had a few maintanence issues, but with the new management, they have been taken care of very promptly. I also receive a call regarding the progress of my work-orders the next day. I have to move out before my lease is up, and the office has been awesome in working with my situation. I recommend these apartments to anyone. They are affordable and great for students.

                                          Very Frustrating

                                          Bent Tree apartments were great, I really liked living there until the last 6 months of our lease. This is when the tides turned. The landscaping was horrible I think just because it was neglected, and when I asked why all the grass was gone, they told me that if I wanted grass for my dog I would need to plant it myself, I thought this was outrageous. The worst part came next about two months before moving out, my husband and I had to move into a new apartment complex about two weeks early because we found out we had bed bugs. This was confirmed by the pest control guy hired by the complex, we did not have them originally. However, the apartments refused to pay for any of our out of pocket costs. We got the bugs from a neighbor, since this is a large attraction for people working on contract at USAA (almost all Asian-Indian people), they often bring the bugs with them in rugs and other furniture when they move. This too was confirmed by the pest control company, but we still left without a bed or box spring (costing $500), and I had to wash all of our clothes before taking them to the new place, and had the couch and chairs steam cleaned (costing $250). Now that we have been gone for awhile, they sent us our bill and credits check, which did not include the return on our pet deposit, which should have been $150. That is alot of money that we are out! I thought our actual apartment had a great lay-out, but it was NOT WORTH IT having to deal with the management! We were intending to move because our rent which was $535, was going up to $699, but this was all very inconvenient since I'm in college and we had to move during finals.

At lease expiration, we offer all our valued residents a fair rate for their renewals. Lease renewal rates offer you a savings off the current market rents and, even with an increase, save you the time and money it costs to move to another home. Without a renewal in place your rent will increase to the current market rent and be considered a month-to-month lease with the published premium, as explained in your lease contract.                                             OLD*NASTY*LEAKY*MOLDY*HORIBLE SERVICE*NOT A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE!!

                                            I have lived in the Bentree apartments for 1 year, These aprtments are old, they said they where remodeling and did nothing but paint. The laundry facilities are the worst I have ever seen in my life. Only 1 or 2 washer & driers work all the rest have nasty mildew water in them & all over the floor. The maintenance never clean or fix anything right. The swimming pools (BOTH) are always nasty and filled with leaves dirt and trash, so you can never take your kids swimming, if you do let them swim in that pool they just my catch something. I would not refer anyone to this place at all, as a matter of fact, I hate that I even paid them any money to live their.

                                              Stay away!!

                                              This apartment complex is horrible. There is bad lighting, we had a horrible flea infestation which took months to resolve. We reported mold months ago and it has not been taken care of. The insulation is terrible we can hear every noise from next door and upstairs. Washers and dryers are constantly breaking down. Its horrible. THe women that work here are great, but the managers new and old consistently make promises and fall through. They have trouble with insects, mold, ac and heating, in addition to several repairs that are needed on the property itself.

                                                Have lived hear close to 2 years and I have not had major issues. However truth be told they do not tell you upon leasing you will be spending an additional $25 a month on water, garbage and gas. You have to pay an extra $40 a month to have the newer appliances, that is if you are an older tenant. They are usually pretty quick about fixing any maintenance problems. I live in a very quiet bldg and that is a big plus. The "curry posse" are very quiet tennants and stick to themselves. And my CPS is very low ( I live in a bottom unit). Parking is okay. The units themselves are old and the cupboards, coounters, doors are worn. Do not get a unit with the bedroom by the staircase, you will hear everyone come home late at night. I am lucky and the people in my bldg are quiet. The staff is friendly and quick to get maintenance working on your problem. The washers in the laundry room have stagnant water and can smell your clothes up. NOt all though so you have to be careful. But they do over charge a bit. However I do not have any bug issue in my bldg although I hear some other bldg's have a problem. I recommend if you want quiet and safe you will find that here. But look around you may find a better deal. This is not the place if you've got kids there is no place for them to play except the driveway and parking lot.
