Always having some water or hot water problem on the boiler side of the complex.. Recently had to boil water to wash dishes and take a dump bath/ shower in the bath tub. This is now the 3 rd management company since moving here.

Exceptional Maintenance,Ro!
I recently visited a friend at The Helix and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service we received from Ro on the maintenance team. He arrived promptly and was professional from start to finish—He is efficient and on top of things. Ro took the time to explain the issue in detail and made sure the repair was done right the first time. He was considerate of our space, worked quickly, and left the area spotless when he was done. Ro truly stands out as someone who genuinely cares about the residents. Thanks, Ro, for all your hard work and dedication—you’re appreciated!

This place is like any other moderately cheap apartment. They're very nice when you're coming in to check the place out and possibly lease. As a resident, they're nice unless I'm coming in with an issue. When I have an issue, they're occasionally nice. Work orders either get done immediately or you have to call because you put it in a week or more earlier and they haven't worked on it at all. Communications from the office are 50/50. If the hot water goes out, you'll get a text/email that it's out or that it's working again. You never get both. Security is a joke. The gates haven't worked in ages. There's an entrance gate and an exit gate and both are wide enough for one car. But people just go in and out of whatever gate they feel like and they usually drive pretty fast too. So I come close to getting in an accident A LOT because of this. The security workers just sit in their trucks not doing anything. The residents themselves are 50/50. Some are really nice. Others are rude. But thats probably every community. When it rains, it floods and you're trying to avoid all the rivers and mud everywhere. I really like that I'm left alone for the most part. I don't have to worry about the office or maintenance bothering me. Parking is usually ample. So far, maintenance are really nice people. The best part is I trust living here. One night, my wallet fell on the ground and I didn't know it. The next morning, I was walking to my car and my wallet was right next to my car with everything in it. Another time, my package got delivered to the wrong unit. I didn't know which one so I figured it was just gone. A few hours later, whoever had it, brought it to me. I've got more examples like this. Overall, there's some bad and some good. Just have to figure out what's important to you.

Great Staff!
Recently took a tour with Loni. She was kind and professional, able to answer any questions I had, and was very knowledgeable about the property and the complex. She was easy to talk to and didn't mind all of my questions and concerns. I appreciate her!

The managers are quick to respond to any issue that needs to be fixed. There is always someone there to answer your.questions. The one thing that I would like to change is some of the community rules need to be inforced better

The community has gotten a lot less rowdy since Tipton took over but the residents still trash the place, the gate is still broken, we got a survey to give a 5 star rating online and show them proof to be entered into a raffle for a TV (which seems very misleading if you ask me), and the pools been closed for a year which is annoying since i get charged $25 a month ON TOP of all my rent and fees just for a "pool View". Tipton should reevaluate these fees if they really cared instead of just taking over and slapping new paint and appliances in the empty apartments.

Great Apartments!
Long term resident of 8 yrs and have loved living here. Help is given when needed and have enjoyed my entire time here. I was not originally from San Antonio. This was my first apartment I have lived in and still is. Never felt the need to move.

The helix really is changing. I enjoy going into the office now. I love the water and snacks. Mia really has been thoughtful and listens to my concerns and getting things done. I was not going to be living here much longer due to the old staff and now that things are getting completed. I am going to renew my lease at the moment I can.

It's a short ------ place, rent is manageable but there are no amenities, no nothing. Maintenance is so trash here, they take weeks to do a 5 minute job. Don't even get me started management that runs this place. Mailboxes have cameras that don't even work and doors that don't close which is why they constantly get broken into. Pool has only been open 2 weeks this summer and they allow a lot of illegal -------- to live here. People sit out and watch all hours of the day and night and this complex has a lot of wanna be mechanics you would think this is a salvage yard

Trash to Treasure
When Tipton Group took over the changes started immediately. I’ve never seen such a whirlwind of contractors for a/c replacement, plumbing, fence repair and replacement, new bright lighting between buildings, concrete repair, tree trimming’s. The apartments have 24 hour Security by seasoned Military professionals, they respond to my text messages in less than a minute. I personally sleep much better knowing they’re here. I had planned to move out beforeTipton took over, but, after speaking to John (from the security team), I changed my mind and decided to give them a chance. I can’t speak highly enough of Mia, she is leading the Management team and is always friendly, professional, and very helpful. I don’t know how she juggles the chaos of all of the contractors, maintenance issues and still finds time to help on the front lines in the office. Jada is such a delight to talk to and is always helpful, a really hard worker. The apartments have come a long way in 2 months and I look forward to the improvements yet to come. I highly recommend the apartments which have a great central location and price point.

Terrific Service
The staff at the front office is exceptional, and every concern I have had was dealt with promptly, efficiently and courteously. I have been here for over 6 years, and intend to continue renting here because of the reasonable prices and the terrific service.

My biggest concern is the lack of security, anyone can drive onto the property at all hours of the day and night. Many vehicles have been stolen and broken into. I have watched drug deals go down. I know it takes time to correct all the issues with a property this size but working gates will go a long way to making the property safe like it was in the past.

Water is always, always an issue here. It's either off or no hot water. Tons of excuses but never a permanent solution to the problem. I've never experienced a complex that could care less. They even sign leases to people knowing they have no water or hot water. It's even embarrassing when residents have company and the water doesn't come on or or the toilet doesn't flush. It makes people look poor or they're not paying rent and they're fulfilling their end of the lease, Limestone isn't honoring their. Life is hard enough and no one needs apartment issues to be added to the list. It's depressing.

I use to live here many years ago but the maintenance and management are hard to reach now. Sometimes the phone in the office is not answered. My water was shut off for about a week. Then they only turned on cold water. They said due to the storm but it was shut off before the storm. People do not pick up after the dogs even though there is waste bags & trash bins provided. The trees are dangerously overgrown and limbs on trees easily break. None of the branches and sticks of wood are removed from the ground. I try not to park under the huge trees. A lot of trees are dying. A lot of ground area around apartments is just dirt, or rocks and dirt, no grass or plants, but the office has beautiful landscaping. The mailboxes look pried open and completely broken. The gates for cars and walk thru gates & mail box gates are open &/or broken, so no security. I have not noticed any flyers put on doors no type of weekly or monthly newsletter or announcements. They do not walk the property. The wash room is caked with dirt and I hav asked that it be cleaned to no avail. The pools are never cleaned, I see dirt on the bottom of the pool, all they do is skim off the leafs. There is a leak in the pool because they have to fill it each day up to the tiles with a lot of water. It would be better to fix the leak so we don't pay for all the water. All the sprinklers are broken. Grass is dead. The wooden property fence needs painting, and mending. The paint on metal railings for stairs are peeling, the concrete sidewalks need pressure cleaning. Just horrible upkeep. The worst part is they don't answer the phone in the office and if you go in person, its locked and the people inside ignore you if you knock. No text, email, ph call from office when bad things happen, like no water for a week. No flyers, nothing. You have to put maintenance requests on the website and all they say is thank you but never show up. Other tenants party all night outside on the balcony and are loud and drink and play music till 1:30 a.m. 3 times a week. There are cigarette butts and trash every where. The parking lots have potholes and are in need of repair. There is no assigned parking but people will tell you that is their parking spot and to move. I kid you not. Fair warning. Unfortunately I can't afford to move right now. And when you have to get a bucket of water from the pool to flush the toilet, that should tell you something.

Worst apt in my nearly 50 years! Constant theft, vandalisms of my car & inside apt, loud sexual harassment honking while getting dressed, racist stalking by creepy ---- young men with cameras, constant stomping from neighbor above, loud creepy video game music, apt mgrs asked me to OD on herbs then called police for not complying when time to renew lease, slipped daily on nails left in my apt & water on sidewalk & in apt from leaks that never get fixed totally, lots of mold upon move in, huge German roaches, daily skunk spray by undercover cop residents chasing me with dogs, murder in Dec. 2018, whole apt shut down for 2 weeks dueCOVID + from daily apt breakins, tasing resulting in dehydration & bleeding from upstairs neighbor & parking lot people disrupting sleep by shining headlights in BR window all night

This place is decent enough but could be so much better. Biggest asset they have is the amazing dog park. I've never seen anything that comes close to it. Not even some of the public parks are this nice. That being said the biggest negative is probably the utility bills. They charge more every month. The first full month I lived here it was about 25 or 30. Now it's almost 60 every single month. I don't use that much water/sewage. It's physically not possible to unless I leave the taps on all the time. What makes it worse is the maintenance will randomly shut off the water to your building and no one will tell you it's going to happen or for how long. It's just pure random mystery as to when it's going to happen. If I'm paying that much there should be water in my apartment to use... I'm up for renewal next spring and I'm moving. I'll miss the dog park but the maintenance and utilities just aren't worth it.

I love it here because it is very piece for and the staff is kind. Sometimes they bake cookies for the kids that get off the bus. The pools are sparkling. It is a quite pet friendly place to live. I like it here better that any place I have lived.

This is our home mom and I moved in August 2017 and we love it the office staff is very kind and courteous, The maintenance men are always on top of there game. The complex is very quiet and there is a huge dog park with benches between the regular apts. and the townhomes it's a good acre. I have had nothing but good things to say to people when they inquire where I live mom and I love the floor plan, and they just redid the entire fence around the property and put up a 10 ft, privacy fence with and I know they are not done yet. When we first moved in the makeready was excellent I was very surprised because in looking at other complexes they were horrible. I right away told mom this is our home and she agreed we signed a 13 month lease with all new whirlpool appliances a heavy duty dishwasher, flat top stove, and huge refrigerator. The washer and dryer connections are in a space all the way in the back of the kitchen so no one can see them with handy shelves on top on each side. The master bedroom is huge I have a queen size huge pillar bed with a chest of drawers, 50 inch TV and 2 night stands with room for my vanity. The master closet is HUGE! I was able to hang up all my clothes there are shelves above the racks for storage and I also put a Large chest of drawers in the walk in. The restroom is very good size and the smaller Bedroom fits a queen bed and bedroom set perfect! Each bedroom has fans with nice lighting the dining area is big enough for a table for 4 to 6 chairs Living room is spacious with room for a couch 2 end tables, a 55-65 inch TV and tons of space to decorate. they all have mini-blinds but I put up curtains in each room. We live downstairs so we have a small fenced in area for outdoor chairs and it looked great at christmas time because we decorated it. The only bummer for me was the downstairs apts. don't have the very cute fireplaces the upstairs units do in the 2-1's but mom and I are disabled and couldn't do the stairs. Parking id first come first served but there is plenty. The complex has 2 pools and the townhomes have one. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to live this is home. Mom and I will be here a very long time.
