Please Ladies and Families, Steer Clear!
It has taken me a few months to be able to write about this but I feel it is my duty to be honest and warn any potential residents of the dangers in the apartment complex. Let me start by saying that my first impression of this place was decent. It has been renovated and doesnt outwardly appear dangerous. I moved in August 2009 and lived there through November 2009. When I first moved in I had issues with the air conditioner leaking in my apartment and soaking the walls and carpet, even getting to some of my furniture. Though maintenance was nice, it did take a couple weeks and two repairs to fix this and communication wasnt at its best. I immediately became aware of the crime. There was an attempted kidnapping of a young boy. There was auto theft. I had to call the police several times about domestic violence in my own building as well as neighboring buildings. An older man once offered me cocaine and waited for me in his truck outside of my apartment for an hour while I was on my lunch break from work. Then there was the murder of a young woman. Early on in my stay in these apartments, obviously, I became fearful for my own safety. I bought some pepper spray and carried it in my hand almost every time I was outside of my apartment, even when walking my dogs. One thursday night I came home around 12am. I got out of my car, got my pepper spray from my purse and began to walk to my apartment when two men asked me if I knew where an apartment number was. I said no and continued walking to my apartment. Then suddenly a man came up from behind me, grabbed me around my neck and shoulders and started pulling me backwards. My adrenaline kicked in and I sprayed this man in the direction of where I imagined his face to be (he was behind me). I was eventually able to struggle free. I ran for my life to my apartment some how with my keys still firmly gripped in my hand. Hysterically I called the police. They showed up several minutes later, looked around the complex and found no one. The next day despite my severe emotional trauma I told the ladies in the office what had happened. I asked to be released from my lease and was forced to wait 3 days to speak with the manager. I am however grateful that when I was able to speak with her, she immediately released me. I found another apartment in the North Central side of town (after researching the crime rate on my own) and was moved out within a week. I am not telling you all this to hurt this complex or because anyone was rude to me. I am telling you this so that you will not endanger yourself. This is a very violent and crime filled area. As a single young woman living alone, I not only urge you to steer clear of this entire area of town, but I also urge anyone to purchase pepper spray. I purchased it to feel safer. It saved my life.

I believe the "5" ratings are from the Limestone Oaks staff themselves, or maybe people who have not seen the full crime potential of this place. Let me tell you, while I was still living there last year (May 2009), I witnessed someone break into my apartment at 9:30 A.M. I rented a one bedroom in the townhome area next to that "pet lover trail." At the time of the break in I was laying on my futon in the living room, while the door to my bedroom was cracked. Thank GOD it was because that's how I saw the person's face. The cops came, got fingerprints that claimed to be strong, and I have yet to hear from anyone. The apartment staff did not bother to even come and fix the large opening in my window until AFTER HOURS of past 6 P.M. Think of your family's safety if not yours!! The cops that had come to assist me said that if they were to find apartments, they would not choose to live in that area because of how secluded it is because of the dog trail. Plus, there are many, many apartments in the area, so the person who broke in could've ran into any one of them. Yes, it is secluded in a way, but Wurzbach itself has multiple apartments. Aside from the break in, the parking is HORRIBLE. Its assigned, right? YES, but people were ALWAYS parking in my parking spot. PLUS, one of my friends' car got dented and he had to get it fixed for $800. The heater blows out mostly cold air in one of the rooms (sorry I don't remember if it was the bedroom or living room) and so I had to turn it up sky high to even be slightly warm. Imagine that.... paying high electricity because of a crappy unit. There were always 5 or 6 cats sitting in front of my door meowing loudly. I apologize to all animal lovers, but this was in the middle of the night and I'm talking about after midnight. A little too creepy.....And...if you don't like paw prints or scratches on your car, it will happen everyday. Paws could be cute, I guess. One other thing that I remember. The apartment I got supposedly was ready, but from the day I moved in until the day I moved out - no matter how much I vacuumed the carpet, excess carpet kept coming off and getting on my clothes every time I sat down. I've never lived in an apartment where that situation happened - even when I didn't have money and lived in a studio at Santa Fe Place on Fredericksburg Rd. If you've lived there then you'd know what I mean. I am hoping that after reading my rating you'll reconsider moving to this place. When I saw the townhomes I thought it was a peaceful area to live at - especially to study. I was excited and eager just as most of you might be right now. Please, reconsider.

Great Place to Live
The unit is located in a great area with centralized access to much of San Antonio. Easy access to the Medical Center, I-10, 410, and a bevy of eating places just down the road make it ideal if you travel to different parts of the city frequently. The staff, including the office and maintenance workers, are very friendly and get any job needed done quickly and correctly. If you have pets, this is the perfect place to live. It is a very pet-friedly area, with a huge dog park on-site. The dog park is large enough that your dog can be let loose to play, a function that's lost with most apartment complexes, where most accommodation is about as large as your unit's patio... The residents are friendly and relatively quiet, making it a nice environment for those of us that have 8-5 schedules (not much noise at 2am, unlike many other complexes). There are 2 pools available which are kept clean, even during the winter months. Unfortunately, there aren't hottubs, so no winter water activities, but once summer comes around I'm sure the pools we be quite popular. All-in-all, this is one of the better apartment complexes I have lived in since moving to San Antonio.

Animal Lovers Dream Apt
I have lived in many apartments in my lifetime and being a true animal lover, this is the best one ever :) The staff is friendly, my neighbors are nice and quiet, the apt itself is very nice with great new appliances....but the absolute best part of the whole place is the animal friendly atmosphere. I own a giant-breed dog and the dog park is awesome!!!! It is huge!! You can let your dog run and play off the leash while you sit on one of the many nice, shade covered benches. There is even water out for the dogs. If you are an animal lover and looking for an apt in San Antonio...this place rocks!

No vacancies for lowlife
I completely disagree with all the negativity. I have lived in about 15-20 different apartments in the last 9 years. Take it from me, this apartment complex is by far impressed me. I don't really know the new office staff as well as I did the old but I do know that shortly after all they came I noticed that my neighbors went from DEAD BEATS to stand up people. That goes for the whole area...its like they took out the trash. I have to say...we needed it. There are 3 maintenance guys and they ALL speak english. I only had to call in one request and it was for my heater on a Sunday a little over a month ago, and one of them showed up in less than an hour. This girl was talking about maintenance not knowing what they are doing when her AC goes out and has her HVAC boyfriend right there....GO FIGURE?? Guess he's not very good at HIS job if you needed to call maintenance. I would love to see more people giving all of them alittle more credit instead of just complaining because you probably didn't pay your rent or were one of the people that this complex didn't want around. I am totally happy living here with my 7 year old son. Traffic is heavy during rush hour but I think that is my only gripe. I hope they keep up with the changes...

Run Away!!
We moved in January 09 and when I signed my lease, I asked them how the crime was and they said they have not had any problems. Well the first month I was there, I wrote them a rent check, got a call like February 6 telling me someone broke into the office and stole all the checks. So that started it right there. Ever since, there has been at least 30 cars over by where I park that have gotten broken into, a child about 4 was playing on his patio and a guy tried to kidnap him right off the patio. Then not to mention that about 2 months ago a woman was killed in her apartment. And they tried telling me there is no crime, MY ---!! The management doesn't like to help with your problems, the maintenance guys are --------- who don't speak english nor know what they are doing. Our A/C was leaking and my husband is an HVAC tech and had to tell the maintenance guys what to do, sound weird?? Luckily we are moving in 2 weeks, we can;t wait. If my son is not safe outside, we don't belong here. And not to also mention that when they said they had a renovation, they really meant they bought new fridges and stoves, nothing else in the apartment is repaired. Dry rot in the bathrooms, paint coming off the bathtub and sinks.

Shocking...I Love My Apt
Ive lived@Limestone Oak for about 5 months & have read the reviews, this complex isnt horrible AT ALL as the reviews read.I had a GREAT move-in special, work orders are done the same day or the following day. The grounds are kept up with & they are cleaned daily. As for roaches, sure you're going to see a few now & then, you just have to keep your apt clean. They have pest control that comes every week. The office staff is very friendly, although some of the receptionist are some what ditzy. The area is GREAT, this complex is the NICEST 1 in the area. I recommend this complex to any1 who is in need of an updated apt at an affordable rate.

dont think about it
Worst mistake ever. This place is a huge mistake.almost as bad as the projects except they charge. There are roaches galore and and the remodeling is less than half done.I have no borders and this place looks nothing like the demo.New stove new fridge thats it. My restroom is an entire loss. There is a smell no matter how much i clean it will not go away, and the mold stands out of the paint. My apt has no borders so ac gets out and mother nature gets in.Half the residents do not have valid social security cards but they will not rent to you with a broken lease.I am a -------- but the gentlmen here stare at me as they toss back the beer and urinate the lawn. I The walls are sheet thin and i have filed over 6 complaints 2 with SAPD. For noise and i got the violation for letting my neighbor know at 1130pm he had woken my children, and his thuggish brother came and threatened ME. The worst part is they still live here after all ive been through no has done anything.Staff advised me to call after hrs security and even at that the neighbor continues to leave an unattended teen hm alone who terrorizes me and intensionally stomps around until 3am when mommy dearest gets hm. I am surrounded by drug transactions and my vehicle has been damaged twice.I literally have had to purchase a firearm because the ppl above me.I cry at night thinking how bad of a decision i have made for my family. My daughter has a heart condition and this place has kept her sick.I would not recomend you here if the rent dropped.Maintence never comes when they say and everything is half done.Just as anywhere else the staff is great at first but dont care after the lease is signed.Save yourself from this mistake it is dangerous and staff does not care so you have to take matters into you own hands.

Medical Center ------
I used to live at Mission Station (the townhome section of Wood Trails and now Limestone Apts.) I am not surprised by the same old complaints regarding this apartment community property. I have always told people that I didn't realize that the Medical Center had a ------ section until I lived at Mission Station (which I lovingly refer to as "Skank Station." If you have any self-respect at all, you will not live in these apartments, regardless of what type of "great deal" they offer you. Irritated2

Worst Mistake Dont do it!!!!
Where to begin..we moved in about five months ago. When we moved in our bathroom sink didn't work, there were stains all over the "new" carpet and the kitchen and bathroom floors were all ripped and burned even after they told us that that the flooring would be all new. Our air conditioner didn't work at all, there was and still to this day no screen on our window, our peep hole has been painted over, its useless you can't see a damn thing out of it. All this on just the first day!! They fixed our AC within 48 hours just for it to break down again 3 days later. We wrote letter after letter demanding that our sink be fixed, it took three months!!! They only fixed it when we started demanding the we be compensated in rent for not having a usable sink. The maintenance men will look you right in your face and lie to you. The girls in the office are clueless. The signs say that they did 4 million in renovations hah! They found 4 million ways to half---- fix the mess that this place is in. They painted over the bathtubs and sinks with regular white paint. The first bath I took here, the paint in the tub started peeling off and floating in the water, extremely gross. The same with the sink, if you fill it to let the dishes soak the paint bubbles up and peels off leaving a disgusting mess. The counters look great until you get close and see that all the did was put black paint over the nasty existing counter tops. Any slight scratch or ding and the paint comes up.The neighbors are probably the worst part though. We watched as the neighbors across from us destroyed their apartment, busted windows holes in the walls, constant parties in the walk way and on more than one occasion we physically witnessed them doing drug deals. We notified the office and the San Antonio Drug Force. They were eventually kicked out and the office nailed sheets of plywood up over the windows and left it like that for at least a month. The upstairs neighbors run an all night dance club upstairs and frequently leave their sliding door and screen open to allow all their pot smoke to filter outside. People party in the parking lot frequently leaving beer cans and trash all over the place. So in short this place sucks! and the neighbors are atrocious. This is by far the worst place I have ever lived and can't wait for my lease to be up!!!

I am tired of their Bull.... Dont live here!!!!!!
I dont play with those people i have called the regional manager lisa cochran--- she is just as unempathetic as the staff... I have called code compliance!!!!!! i will continue to do so and raise hell until they get their stuff together!!!!! we should all begin writing letters and going to the management webite and informing the "higher ups" on whats going on, or else nothing is going to change there. They need to replace that entire staff and at least find people that have had training! Put these girls back on their little yellow bus and send them on their way!!! Calling this apartment another name doesnt change the fact that it is still a piece of crap!

New name, Same bad reviews
They've changed their name now to Limestone Oaks, but they're just as horrible as before described. I moved into an apartment with the 'new black appliances and counter-tops' which I think are they cheap spray on counter-tops because they're already peeling and scratching off. The tile is peeling off as well. Cheap and not worth 585 for the smallest one bedroom. When I moved in they didn't vacuum for me either and they're are grease stains on the walls that they didn't clean. I had to put in light bulbs. I had to complain for 2 months before they finally finished the tub for the second time. Even though it's peeling off again, I decided I was done asking them because they obviously don't care. Plus when they did finish it they sprayed all over the brand new black counter-tops on my lotions and soaps and make up mirror ruining it. There was a leak in my tub on the faucet that had my water running for 4 hours full blast before they came and shut it off. When they eventually did fix it they claimed there was no leak (when in fact a plumber had stated that there was), and then it broke again. Again, I haven't asked them to fix it again, because they won't and it's more hassle then it's worth. Since then, I have received 2 notices where they shut off the water to work on these leaks that 'never existed' when I reported them. They had my number on the gate and it was calling me all hours of the day because no one know their code or had their card key to get in. Since my phone number was the only one they had it called me when anyone would try to buzz in. This lasted for a month. A month of me going into the office, calling the office, calling the answering service, I spoke to every leasing agent in the office that I know almost all of their names. They never took it off and I had to change my number. I gave 60 days notice I would be moving out and they left a message on my machine telling me I couldn't that my lease wasn't up until May. Again, another mistake. I'm glad I kept my copy. Even the manager Carmen and the nicest leasing agent Maricela always say they will do something and It never gets done. Don't trust them. I signed a 6 month lease, thank god. I wished I would have read these ratings before moving here. But, I've since learned my lesson. Whatever you do if you're brave enough to not take my advice and give them a chance - document everything not fixed, take pictures, read the lease closely, and keep receipts, and copies of everything.

Getting ready to move out
I have lived in these apartments for almost a year. I moved in Oct 2007 and will finally be able to move out at the end of Oct 2008. When I first looked at the apartments they showed me a nice apartment that had just been remodled with new applicances and new carpet. They stated that they were planning on having all the first 10 building remodled with new appliances by the end of the year (2007!) Well when I told them when i would be moving in, they said the only one bedroom they had would be one that had yet to be remodled but would be soon. Well let me tell you i have lived there 10 months and they have not changed anything in my apartment. The paint is pelling down next to the carpet, the cable socket in the bedroom is hanging off the wall because they didn't fix it when i asked just simply painted over it. I have bugs constantly, they have never once sprayed my apartment, and when i asked they told me they just spray around the building. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear everything going on around you. I think the worst part is the residents here! Some of my neighbors were nice, but the majority are compleltly disrespectful of other people. I can hear one of my neighbors music loud and clear, I can understand every single word they are singing and he does not even live in the same building as me. This would be okay if were few and far between, but it is atleast 4 times a week. There are people screaming and carrying on in the pool at all hours of the night. With no care for other people that have to get up early in the morning. They just put in new gates, but that does not keep people out, which i never expected it to do. But the parking lot is so small I wish people would atleast go in the and out the correct gate so that you would have room to move your vehicle out of the parking space. My suggestion would be that if you have a normal job and have to keep regular hours, this is not the place to live.

I have been here over a year. The location is good. However the people that manage this place are disgusting. They try to manage this place like dictators & that they are doing you a favor. They will even try to make you pay for cosmetic items that are just worned from being old. Maintenance isn't any better. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do Not live here
I moved into this complex in January. When they were showing me the apartment the people were really nice. When we looked at the apartment we would move into if we signed the lease, the appliances were old and it was dirty. We were told that we would be getting new black on black appliances, and that they would clean it before move in. They didn't even vacuum. Broken tiles still on the fireplace, electric sockets with no covers, etc. First they gave us the run around and said that they would replace the appliances in a week. Then it was two weeks. Finally, they flat out told us that they weren't going to at all because we're getting a special rate that's $85 less than the $740 market value. I'm telling you that they are flat out lying!! The guy who showed us the apartment promised them to us as then. Even said we would have the new black counter tops instead of the old stained ones. Well now, 3 months later, the stove is in such bad shape that if you so much as boil a pot of water the fire alarm goes off no matter how much you clean the eyes and the drip trays. Our dish washer leaks all over the floor, (I've ruined several good towels trying to soak it up), and backs up into our sink. You have to turn on the garbage disposal for 4 minutes to get the all the water to drain, otherwise it just sits there. But then you have the smell of a burning garbage disposal. I have to wash my dishes in the bathtub and bathroom sink. I have told the people in the office continuously, but they say they'll send someone out and no one ever comes. Even the manager Mel has said this to my fianc e, and weeks later, still no help. The one time someone came, he just looked around and said he'll be back the next day. He never came back. I said something to Mel about it myself on Monday, and she said someone would be out there that day or the next. Still no one and its Friday. Nobody ever remembers us telling them about it. Now she tells me that if I want something fixed I have to tell her directly. Well I did and still nothing. I was going through a hard time and paid my rent late, but they won't even give me a break on the late fees. They get their money for having to wait to get mine, but I get no compensation for having to live with this mess. She tells me if she does it for me, she'll have to do it for everyone. That tells me that nobody is getting anything fixed around here. That certainly seems to be true because my neighbors complain of the same problems. They even tell me one thing, and then tell my fianc e another. It's ridiculous. Also, she told me that if I didn't pay her hundreds of dollars in late fees, she would lock me out and I couldn't get back in my apartment. That's a lie, because I know that even if they lock you out they have to provide you with a key in a reasonable time frame, even after hours. She's just trying to scare me. Anyway, I'm trying to work with her and I don t mind paying late fees. But $90 for 4 days late is crazy!! Especially considering the condition my apartment is in. My next step is to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

This is truly a terrible place to live. The price is relatively inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. Maintenance is slow to respond, office personnel is indifferent, noisy and inconsiderate neighbors, etc. Just keep on looking...

My Woodtrails Story
I lived at Woodtrails for over 6 years. Two different units, a child later, I moved out. The reason I moved in was cheap rent. The floor plans are great and the amount of square footage for the price is fantastic. Great closets. The commodity of having washer and dryer without having to step foot outside is too good to pass up. The reasons I moved out. Problems with the water main. I know that it is impossible to prevent a water main from breaking. But, the amount of times that I was unexpectedly without water was ridiculous. The floors squeak. Every year during the summer my air conditioning would go out for 2 days out of each month. There were "wasp looking" bugs coming out of my bathroom light fixture for 2 months in the summer. Yes, the pool kept turning green. It was bad when I came home to find my apartment under 8 inches of water because a pipe broke in the apartment upstairs. Okay, I'm an optimist, things happen! However, the last straw was when I reported mold (from the flood)on my ceiling and around my air conditioning unit and maintenance came and painted over it. (Is that safe?) I saw the constant change in management. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. I don't regret living at Woodtrails. With the amount of money I saved on rent, I bought my own house. I recommend Woodtrails to those who are willing to sacrifice for the greater good.

Was Truely a Disapointment but now things might be looking looking up!!
We recently moved in here and disregarded the previous rumors due to the fact that every place has its good and bad. Well the day i was signing the lease i looked out the back office window and out toward the pool area to see a father and his son jumping in and having fun. Now it seems that ever since i have moved in, the pool seems to always be closed and my son is just plain broken hearted. He looked forward to swimming and still does to this day for that matter. I just cant give up hope for these apartments because i just signed a year contract and am a positive person. They are doing repairs on all the patio's and the exterior of the buildings. It is looking good and is really showing the residents that the apartments are improving. I feel that every thing is going to be fine. As for the floors and the paper thin walls, well thats another story for another day. But for now its an improvement and i am satisfied for the time being. I hope that the improvements continue and i will not loose hope. I would give these apartments a positive review because at least they are making the effort to improve unlike other apartments. So Thank you WOODTRAILS for making a difference. It is greatly appreciatied.

All the reviews posted are true!!!
First to be positive, the inside of my apartment was not bad....nice size, layout was pretty cool. Every maintenance problem I had was addressed very quickly except all of the concerns that I expressed when I first moved in. It took several calls to get those addressed! Otherwise, I never had any problems with the office staff, they were pretty nice to me. My car was never broken into, but I saw many others with busted out windows or just plain run down. Closet was huge, loved it...bedroom was a nice size also. There was also a patio storage, which was nice. Now with the bad, I had my apartment sprayed every month due to excessive insects! A roach actually crawled across my face while I was sleeping! Gross!! I had a prostitute living next to me, so random dudes would be outside of her apartment all night banging on her door....not too safe. One of them took a piss on my door step. The apartment above me had a pipe bust which caused my apartment bathroom to flood from the ceiling....mold began growing on the ceiling and was already growing in my closet. I'm not sure if that is okay. I had three sets of upstairs neighbors over a 12-month period and I could everything, and I mean everything they did! Kids playing, people fighting and the list goes on. I had a car accident in the parking lot of the apt., there are huge bushes that prevent you from being able to see around the corners. There is broken glass and bottles all over the place. There really wasn't a problem with noise in my building, other than my loud neighbors. HOT WATER IS TERRIBLE, or even cold water for that matter. When you had hot water, it was good though. You would be without hot water at least 2-3 times a week without notice, not to mention how many times with notice. I had to actually shower at another apt. once just to get to work because the water was completely turned off. Also, someone stole my electricity meter in the middle of the night so I woke with no power and had to file a police report just to get a new one. ------!!! I grew up in the hood, so I know what is like to live in one. There is constant traffic through the fence (day and night) that divides the complex next door and it is clear that drug transactions are taking place. It is very dark at night and can be kind of scary for a child or female, or even a male to be outside as all of this is going on in the middleo of the night. Also, I heard several gun shots at night! Overall, not the best place to live or the safest.

living here was the worst experience of my life!!! for starters i moved in on short notice and not because i wanted to so i already had a bad feeling about it. the first day of my move in i was moving some boxes in and a guy flashed me. it was so scary and i thought i was gonna get raped or something!!! second, the air conditioner has NEVER worked from day 1. ive put in a work order for that at least 4 or 5 times and it has never gotten taken care of. not to mention the mold that is growing in the restroom. cant u die from that???? my dishwasher doesnt work and neither does my oven. i had to buy one of those little ovens because of it and even if the oven did work it doesnt have oven racks!! the front door gets stuck you have to yank it to open it from the inside, or throw your whole body into it if your coming from the outside. another thing that sucks here is that there is no lighting so im always scared because it is so dark, i cling on to my purse and run for the door every day when i get home. plus the laundry facility sucks!! people always break the washers, dryers, and vending machines just to get the quarters. that just goes to show how ------ this place is. please im warning you, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!

The worst of the worst!
1. Management is RUDE! <br>2. Security is NON EXISTANT! <br>3. Parking Lot is very dangerous for kids because of the lack of lighting and BAD landscaping! <br>4. IF it weren't for the low rent there, I think most people would leave! <br>5. This place is a drug haven! Some of the residents act as if DRUGS are legal and do it out in the open! <br>6. The scum that start drinking at 10:30pm till who knows when, leave all their beer bottles out for all to see and hopefully maintance gets to them before the kids do.<br><br>Bottom Line: If you don't want to live at the bottom of the barrel.....DON'T MOVE TO THESE APARTMENTS! <br> <br>

Would only recommend for my worst enemy!
I haven't come across one happy resident and I have lived there aprx 5 yrs. The mgt was always rude in excess, and it takes 2 months worth of calls to even have maintenance come out and even peak at what is happening. Don't even get me started on all the stray cats, possums, and skunks, or the horrible/lack of lighting in the parking light, or the drunk skum walking in that parking lot at night, or the need to drive at a creeping speed because you are unable to see around the parking lot due to bad landscape. I could go on, but I have a life. I would have moved already if moving didn't cost so much.
