We love the Ashby. We've been here over 10 years and have always been satisfied. The management is friendly and efficient, the maintenance staff is excellent and the area has a high walkability score which is important to us as we like to walk and do our errands. There are restaurants, shops, hair dressers, salons, doctors, insurance agents, banks, and a great number of other services all available within walking distance from the Ashby. Also the school district is excellent, one of the best in the country. I work in one of the middle schools and can attest to this personally besides having two children who attended public school here. There are also private schools in the immediate area as well. There are parks, a library and an active community center all within walking distance from the Ashby. And the area has a rural feel to it which is wonderful for raising children. We're also only a short bus ride away from a major shopping center and a metro stop from which one can go anywhere in the city.

I moved in on January 2014 coming from Iowa, I was satisfied with the professional level of all staff i have met with, the only thing that is bothering me a little, maybe nothing can be done about it, is the truck that removes the trash that comes every day very early in the morning and making a lot of noise.

We are quite pleased with our rental experience at the Ashby. The location is fantastic. It is a clean, quiet building with a very responsive staff. One complaint is that the windows are very drafty -- particularly noticeable in the winter when cold air comes pouring in. Our only other complaint is that the gym is run down and the equipment needs updating. Neither was enough to keep us from renewing our lease.

The Ashby is in a convenient location in McLean within walking distance of restaurants, food stores, drug stores, and medical offices. Community is well maintained and the all the staff is friendly and responsive to the needs of the residents.

It is a pleasure living at The Ashby of McLean, as residents are treated as family. Everything is always taken care of in record time, and the associates go out of their way to be helpful.

Great place to live, very close to grocery and drug stores, and within walking distance of several shopping centers. Nice to have a UPS store, hair salon and deli in the building. Very convenient for residents.

The Ashby offers great apartments in a great location at competitive prices. You get luxury accommodations and services in a good living environment. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking something in the area

We lived here for about 4 months. If you need a short term lease this really is a good place, especially for those with young children. It's in a very safe location and you can walk to the park nearby and the grocery store. We were in a fairly spacious 2 bedroom apartment and had no problems with our unit. Our house was ready sooner than expected, so we broke our lease early since we had initially signed for 6 months. The staff were helpful in letting us know how the process works to find a possible replacement and fortunately, some one did take the lease over within about 3 weeks of our vacating it. Some things to keep in mind - the washer and dryer are small and the washer is ridiculously loud. Our unit was in the kitchen, when the washer is running, you can barely have a conversation. The carpeting in the hallways is fairly worn and dingy but the units themselves are bright and much cleaner looking. And something fishy is going on with the water bill. Our monthly water bill there was at least double maybe even triple what our normal water bill is.

I have been at the Ashby at McLean for over 3 years and could not be more satisfied with the staff, service, and appearance. I am kept abreast of service interruptions and my service issues are addressed promptly. The facility is well appointed, clean, and secure.

I moved in last week and the overall response was excellent. Mercedes and Ester have worked to help me with any questions I have. There was a slight error on my part regarding the features of the apartment, and they worked with me to setup a new move-in for an upgraded unit. I highly recommend The Ashby if you work in the McLean area.

Apartment meets our expectations.Proximity to stores,restaurants etc.etc.is perfect.Property management extremely proffessional.Would recommend the Ashby to any friend.Am expecting to renew my lease for a longer period of time depending on price.

The staff are always friendly, professional, and competent. Two grocery stores, many restaurants, post office, UPS, Fed Ex, parks, a library, community center, and shops like McLean Hardware take just a few minutes' walk. I frequently walk, and have had no safety concerns. Metro access has not been convenient, but that should improve in 2014 with the new Tysons station. Dulles is about 20 minutes away. I use the bicycle storage room. The building, parking, and grounds are generally in good shape, apart from some curious chronic neglects of a fountain & a tennis court. The Party Room is too pricey for me

I like this community.The staff is friendly.They always there when you need them. I don't like inaccurate water bills and the noise from renovated houses kills us .If these can be solved,this place is going to be a real nice place to live in as long as you Can afford.

I was welcomed throughout my move and currently enjoy the privacy of my apartment with my kids. It's very quiet and clean. The pool, Tennis court, fitness center and business center are added benefits for me.

The office staff are wonderful and very helpful. This place is close to Tyson's and DC but far enough away to feel like you belong in a community. This place is clean, well maintained and friendly.

This is a gem of a place to live and perfectly positioned geographically if you have to commute to Tysons or DC. Working for BAH, I sometimes had to go to the 'mothership' near Tysons and other times into DC. Recommend to my colleagues at BAH and in the defense industry to choose the Ashby if you get moved about in and out of the NOVA area.

Needing an affordable place on short notice as my job was relocating me to NOVA for short period (10 months), I thought the Ashby was geat. They were willing to work with me and accommodate my irregular occupancy needs and the apartment was ready and perfect when I arrived from New York which was a huge relief since I never had seen it in person. Now back to New York to for a front row seat of what is the soap opera of aging injured ball-players known as the Yankees.

I've been at the Ashby for about 20 months (over a year and a half). It has been pretty nice. The management team here is professional/friendly and works hard. Parking is sometimes challenging late at night or after rush hour. The residents are usually nice and you will probably have some friendly neighbors (depending on your floor). It feels safe coming home late at night. There have been some changes with the front desk staff and that was a little inconvenient. I've had lost packages, as have my neighbors - but they're friendly people. There are some nice facilities, like the pool. We're leaving because rent is too expensive for the location currently. I imagine that people who move here will be able to afford a higher rent (2500 approx).

My family just moved to a new home this week, but we will miss very much the last year and a half we stayed at the Ashby. So very clean and well maintained and it was so quiet, I always felt safe even when arriving back late or leaving for work before dawn. Great place! We lived on the sixth floor and had the best neighbors! Good luck to everyone and goodbye!

The staff are very helpful....
The staff are very helpful. The apartments are clean. The residents are quiet. The schools are top-rated. The neighborhood is very safe. The apartments are less than a half-mile walking distance from virtually places to eat in McLean. This is a *nice* apartment complex.

Love it here! My neighbors are great the staff is great and everyone tries their best to make everyone happy. There are so many diverse people here that it s impossible to make everyone happy but the staff and the maintenance tries. The front desk is very helpful and friendly. I have never had problems with my packages. The deli is amazing and the couple is the best. Housekeeping tries their best to clean the entire building while the staff always greets you with a genuine smile. It feels good to come home to such a warm and happy place. I have been here for two years and will continue to stay as long as I can.
