Do NOT RENT HERE
Please take my advice: live somewhere else. Constant problems and lack of caring. Mind boggling that a building in a DC suburb should be this bad. From elevators constantly going out to parking issues, its a mess.

Nothing special
The Ashby in McLean is very average but should offer more for this price point. An older building, so a lot of things breaking and slow responses when such happens. Parking could be better. I think this building could use a more modern look.

Good location, but poor living
As a resident of over 10 years, The Ashby does have a few advantages. The building is relatively quiet due to concrete and carpet floors. Also, I the location is good and there are relatively few pest problems. But the negatives outweigh the positives. There is constant construction and it often creates loud noises early in the morning. The elevators are frequently out of service, and parking is horrendous. The building actually stacked pallets of cinder blocks in the parking lot which is blocking dozens of spots that residents could be using. Doesn’t seem logical to me to stack pallets outside in a parking lot, I mean what possible reason?. On a side note, they charge extra for underground parking. But the worst problem at the Ashby is the fact that they do not offer heat to residents even when it cold outside. The building turns the master heat off when it gets to a typically warm season, even if it’s not warm yet. When the low temps are barely above winter level, then how can you deny your residents heat? This issue is not only uncomfortable and annoying, it’s unhealthy. People get sick when they are exposed to cold temperatures for a long period of time. For a “luxury” building, when you have to huddle around a little heater, it makes you feel more like you are living in the projects.

Having moved to the area from out of state, the Ashby has been a warm place to call home. The staff is very friendly and the community is welcoming. The space is always clean and generally quiet. There are several restaurants and shops nearby, as well as the Mclean Central Park. Overall, it’s been a great place to live and I would certainly recommend it to anyone searching for a new apartment!

Ashby at McLean offers the best apartment experience of my whole life! It is clean, safe, quiet, upscale. Everything is perfect. Most important of all, the management and staff are the most professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Grace the manager always responds to my phone call and email requests immediately. I love Ashby at Mclean!

Clean and quite community. The staff is very helpful. We love our neighbors. We can walk to Safeway and Giant and other stores and parks. Near everything but feels far away from the crazy Tysons area.

I first contacted The Ashby back in the fall. My daughter, who has a job where she really cannot conduct personal business, is moving from Herndon to McLean to be closer to work. From the moment that I met Assistant Property Manager, Grace Fogelgren, and toured several units, my mind was made up! The property itself is lovely, the apartments are quite spacious and attractive. Grace has been with me every step of the way during this process, and my daughter will be moving in on May 18, and she can't wait, and neither can I!

The service was outstanding. There is this one staff member that works on the weekends and she is amazing. She went above and beyond for me with my packages or anything else I needed assistance with. The leasing office was nice as well.

The apartment is very nice, renovated and spacious. The balcony is very large, and private from neighbors. The kitchen appliances are up to date and spacious as well. And the washer and dryer are also new. The staff is very friendly, the community consists of mostly older people and families.

What a great place to live! The staff is professional and very helpful, and the building is spotless. The apartments are a really nice size with many closets, and a large balcony. Within walking distance of anything-shops, restaurants, grocery stores. Onsite pool, workout room, deli, business office, and more. So close to D.C., a great location for commuting by car or mass transit, and right near fantastic shopping at Tyson??™s Corner.

Friendly people live here. I enjoy the concrete structure with no noise from the neighbors. I love the views and enjoy being close to everything. I can walk to many stores, restaurants and coffee. Tyson??™s Corner and the bike trails are all near by.

Good . Clean . Dryer should be separate from washer . Kitchen too small , only one sink . Nice mail man and lady. Good business center . Scanner doesn??™t work. Fast response on maintenance request. Guy was very calm and fixed at best of his abilities. Trash room is clean and lobby and aisle are clean . Elevator is bit slow

It is great experience living at the ashbly managment and staff are asam and wonderfull. I feel like I am at home and I would strongly recommend for other, exapet some neighbor are noisy and they get involve with things non of their business.

Calm, relaxed, and a homey feeling! The staff is pleasant and make a conscious effort to know you by name. Extremely courteous concierge staff and greet you with a smile. Ever ready to help out. Floors have been upgraded to make it more appealing and that's a good thing.

The Ashby is McLean is an exceptional place to live! The building is well-maintained and the entire staff is so professional, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. They keep the place spotless. The units are a really nice size and the balconies are huge. I can walk to everything--shops, restaurants, etc. and a bus stops out in front of the building that goes to the metro. During non-rush hour, I can get into Washington, D.C. in 15 minutes. There's a pool, gym, business center and more! And the people that live here are so nice! I think because the building is run so well and they know they have a great place to live!

MY experience thus far at the Ashby at Mclean Apartments has been a most positive experience. The concierge, the office staff, the maintenance staff, and residents have all been friendly and helpful. The Beverly Deli with Mr/Mrs Lee is so convenient. The neighborhood is safe and has so many options for shopping, restaurants, gasoline, etc.

Management is friendly and very responsive to its' residents requests. Common areas are kept clean and well maintained. You cannot beat the location. Because this is an older property, the walls are very thick, so you have a great deal of privacy.
