I really can't recommend this place to anyone and wish I never moved here unfortunately. I really wanted to love this place, I love luxury apartment living and only lived in really nice places my whole life, this is really not that.

Our general experience so far is that the apartment we are in is very loud. Easier the loudest place I've ever lived, and I used to live in Manhattan (Harlem) for comparison. Over all the amenities are nice and staff are helpful.

Everything is wonderful here. I’m close to work, downtown, really anywhere. Staff and maintenance people have been very nice and accommodating. Everyone is nice, no issue and we have our own brewery on-site!!

I've really enjoyed it its quiet, clean, and everyone has been helpful and respectful since I've moved in. Extremely dog friendly and near by a kayak launch, park, Starbucks, and access to the greenway for running or walking.

Except for the loud barking dog across from our apartment we like it here very much so far. Not overly friendly tenet’s but we have only lived here a couple of months so I’m hoping that will change. Since we pay $35 per car to park underneath the bird poop on our cars bother both of us as we can’t keep our cars clean.

love the location with easy access to the river trail. Great staff and a clean, safe, upbeat place to live that's PET FRIENDLY! They need more food options within walking distance but you can't beat the many parks and trails alongside the complex. But the trains rolling by and helicopters flying overhead are constant occurrences and can impact your ability to work from home (attending calls, etc). Thanks

I love South16!! Definitely the place to be if you are looking to be close by downtown! Everyone in the leasing office and maintenance team is super nice and accommodating! The apartments are really nice and the management does a great job keeping the community in excellent condition.

Have been living at south 16 for a month and still settling in. So far Ive been pleased with my experience here but I will say there should be better surveillance around the property and the cleanliness of the buildings should be maintained better.

South 16 is by far the best apartment community in Roanoke. The staff is professional, maintenance is quick to respond, the facilities are always clean. I feel very safe living here. Its very close to the greenway for biking and walking. A boat launch is literally in the backyard, great for kayaks, canoes, etc. Its less than 5 minutes to downtown Roanoke. Its close to shopping, dining, outdoor events, and more.

Any problems I have had, the admin team answers quickly. I had a financial problem come up and they worked with me with rent one time. That meant a lot to me. I stopped to drop off my rent and they knew me by name and asked how everything was going.

Great apartment, excellent staff. I have not lived in an apartment before so don't know how this compares. I wish the doors on the hall were insulated. You can hear everything from inside the other apartments (including mine, I assume) when walking in the hallway. However, my apartment inside is very quiet. I never hear either of my neighbors. Security worries me a little. I had my bicycle stolen the first month after I moved in. It was locked to a bike rack in the garage. I am more careful and watchful now if I go out at night. Whether I would recommend to a friend depends on the friend. I am probably one of the oldest people here. Most people are generally friendly but it is not a community where you know your neighbors. It feels more like a dorm. I love being around young people so it works for me. The same comment goes for DR Pepper Park and Starbucks drive up window speakers. I'm ok with it but not everyone my age would be after living in a large single-family house with friendly neighbors in a neighborhood for my whole life until I moved in here. It takes some adjustment and a positive attitude! The maintenance and office staff make it much easier with their kindness and responsiveness.

You can hear your neighbors literally coughing or talking on the phone. Poor insulation and timeliness of work orders. Bugs come into the apartments - whether summer or winter. Only recommend this place for convenience of location.

I enjoy living at south16 because of how close it is to everything, especially since I have a dog and the field is right next door. The staff is professional and very helpful as well. The only drawbacks are safety and cleanliness. The doors to the elevator are not locked, meaning anyone can get into the building. The amount of homeless people I have seen trying to get into the building that have been stopped because of the doors locking mean that they need to be fixed ASAP. I personally have come home late and have pulled the doors shut because a homeless person was trying to get in. The cleanliness has gotten a lot better in the last year.

I truly enjoy living at South 16. It is close to downtown without being in the middle of everything. The apartments are new and high quality with granite counter tops, modern finishes, large bathrooms and closets, and every unit has a washer and dryer. The management team is very timely in their responses, and have always been willing to help answer my questions. The maintenance team also responds promptly to requests. Overall, South 16 is a great place to live!

I haven't moved in yet but all my communication via phone has been excellent and had constant updates. I was able to have clear answers and if not, was referred to those who did have the answers. Emails and confirmations were up to date and I always had the information I needed. Flexibility was key in moving and it was highly appreciated. I believe I will love the area from what Ive been told and feel safe in my residence living alone.

I absolutely love living here. Its such a great apartment and wonderful view of the mountain. Only drawback would be the noises from the train, dumpsters, very thin walls, and doors slam closed. So noises aside its a fantastic apartment!!

I'm a country girl. I dreaded the idea of living the city life. I'm pleasantly surprised at how cozy and quiet it is. The inside of the apartment is extremely quiet. The train is not loud. It can sound soothing. I feel safe. It's close to everything. Staff is friendly, available and accommodating. I like the city vibe.

It hasnt quite been what it was described to me as. The garage is always dirty, and I was never even given the option to park for free. I was never told that my floors were just bare concrete while others in my building get nice hardwood. Maintenance is quick and great but the apartment building overall has disappointed me after the model room that I was shown versus what I have experienced. There are multiple issues but I will just leave it at that.
