A perfectly great place to live
I currently live at Lancaster Mill and I really enjoy it. We moved in a year and a half ago and besides the normal maintenance stuff we have not had any problems. The apartment is big and I love my walk in closet. The people in the office are nice and always willing to help you out and maintenance is nice also. You should move here and not listen to the negative comments others have left

Mickey Mouse and the mousekateers!
I was unhappy with my experience at Lancaster Mill. I am not going to go into complete detail like management failing to send somebody over to inspect my aptartment for mold...but what I will say is I have complained many many times to have pest control on a regular basis but yet that did not happen. I had to live in fear opening up kitchen cabinets because I was not sure that I would find my bread bad chewed into or mice droppings in the draw. We actually had to take it into our on hands and set traps and we actually caught 8 mice in a matter of 2 weeks! I just think that this is something people would want to know before moving into a new place. If I would have been able to get references of residents before I moved in I probably would not have chose this place. But the price was right as many previous renters stated.

This is a great place if you like a quite out of the way place
I really enjoyed my apartment at Lancaster Mill. I lived there for 4 years and over the years it just kept getting better with the current staff the best they have had.. The only thing that I would change it that I wish I would of moved into a two bedroom because they have the BIGGEST closet I have ever seen. The maintenace staff if pretty good, except I had to call twice for the same thing but they came right over. Like I mentioned, they current staff is great. I think their names are Megan and Margene. They are always so nice and friendly and even if there are a few people in tyhe office at the same time they act as if you are the only one. I had to talk about my move out with Megan and she could not of been any nicer. I wish I did not get a transfer. I highly recommend Lancaster Mill

You should come here
I have lived here for over a year and I will continue to live here if the price continues to be right. When I shopped around for space and price, this place was top bar none. Yes the staff changed 2 times since I have been here but lets be serious who has not changed staff before. The current staff is willing to do what they can to help you in any way. They will work with you as long as you work with them. They are friendly in every way possible. Hopefully my rent does not go up again but thats any complex. If you continue to do the things that you should (i.e. clean apt, minimum noise, pay rent etc) you would not have any problem living here. I do not have problem parking due to the location of my apartment. At least they do not have assigned parking which risk your friends getting their car towed and the money goes to the complex as I have seen in the past. I have viewed the complaints on here and I do not see what the problem is. These people probably expect alot out of things and living conditions and therefore do not uphold their end of the bargain. I had a friend who lived in the same complex and when he had a bug problem, they allowed him to move into another apt immediately. That is due to you communicating with the staff and they will continue to accomodate you.

Although the apartment complex is not the top of the line. Lancaster Mill staff & maintenance team is like a family. The staff and maintenance team go out of there way to help you, but it is up to you to talk with them. Do not be afraid to be honest with the staff. People really like to help others. I have not had any safety problems since I have lived in Lancaster Mill. Prince William County police are readily available.

Loved It
I lived there for 2 years and it got much better right before I moved out. It was ok at the beginning, but the new office staff made it much better. I would not have moved out, but my job transferred. Move here!!

When I first moved into the complex in 2004, everything was fine. The complex was nothing special, but met some of my requirements for my situation. It is an older complex, so it had the usual wear and tear. I worked in Quantico so, because of the location of the complex I did not have to deal with traffic. But a year later the management changed and everything got worse. The staff changed almost monthly. The quality of customer service/professionalism went downhill. The Office staff were not very helpful and most times absent from the office. Even with three staff members, they were often "Out of the office". They were often closed an hour earlier than the posted hours. During the summer of 2007, there were some armed robbers within the complex. And the management did hire security for a short period to patrol after nightfall. Other than the staff, this is not that bad of a place to live. So rent here at your own risk.

Horrible !!!
My husband and I moved here for military reasons a little while ago. I have spent my time here trying to control a roach infestation the management will do nothing about. Maintenance is worthless here as well. My washing machine, dishwasher, and garbage disposal has broken. The only thing fixed was my washing machine after the guy told me I was crazy and it worked fine and then flooded my apartment after turning it on to show me I was crazy. If I was you I would run run run far away from this place.

Do not rent
First, I moved in during a 'special' that got me a half month's rent off for signing a 12 month lease. Then when I recieved military orders to a new base and had to move, they billed me for it. Which they neglected to tell me would happen at the time I signed the lease, even though I made it clear I would be recieving orders. Second, it took me at least 3 times to get them to understand I had recieved orders and would be leaving. Each time a different person in the office would tell me I had to something different. First I didn't need a copy of orders, then I did, then they lost them, etc. All this ended up causing me to get charged for an extra week after I left. Third, they erroneously billed me my last month's pro-rated rent, even though I paid it before I left. When I recieved the bill I immediately called them so they could fix it. They said they would take care of it and send me an updated bill. It's more than 6 months later, I've recieved no corrected bill, and now I'm being harrassed by a collection agency to get the money they're trying to con out of me. Add to those the fact that the staff was not helpful in the least. Maintenance was horrid (I got infested by ants, because of no outside pest control). And rent was way too high for what you actually got. Definitely find somewhere else to live.

Great Place! Highly Recommend!
This apartment community has fulfilled my expectations as a renter. It's in a quiet and comfortable area, the office staff are very helpful and my maintenance issues are resolved right away. The apartments are in great shape and larger than most I've seen in the area. The noise is like any apartment but not to bad. I would highly recommend renting an apartment in this community!

Nice temporary housing for the price.
First off, the apartments are not brand new. That is a given when you walk into the leasing office to sign the paperwork. However, that does not mean all of the units are in complete disarray. My unit had a few cracks in the walls and spots on the carpet, but I did have a newer stove and fridge compared to where I lived before in Lorton. The walls are very thin but that is to be expected in apartments in Woodbridge, trust me. There was a recent armed robbery in the parking lot that was followed by a promise of police patrol, which never happened. The parking is so-so. If you get home around 7pm, it may be tough finding a spot really close to your building but the complex is small. The staff did change almost every month it seemed but they were always very nice. A plus side to this community is that there are not a lot of children. Kids and especially teenagers always cause trouble in apartment places but most of the children that live here are young and keep to themselves. There is a nice park right behind the complex that turns into a spanish hangout at night. The janitors are friendly and do what they can to keep the grounds clean. For the price, it is a low key, nice complex. I know that other apartments may be a little cheaper, but there is usually a wait and lots of teens and crime.

Don't rent here
For the price, it is not bad. However, you have to deal with noisy neighbors, doors slamming (not only the sound but the pressure changes), loud music. The walls are very thin - you can easily hear your neighbors phone convesations. People leave their trash bags in the breezeway for days; two trash bins services 9 building so it is constantly overflowing. Management changes constantly and are never available. In the winter, the parking lot wasn't plowed for days, then all cars were plowed in, and no salt was put down to prevent ice. Management was not concerned at all about the situation.

Very Poor
New management, they suck, they will get you on every technicality they can before you leave. They are not there to provide better service they are there to manage the bottom line and make sure it goes up. Thin walls, insects, poor craftsmanship, old appliances that break, heater does not keep you warm all winter. Complaints answered but never properly corrected. Not enough parking,

This place sucks
I agree with the other reviews. If you must live here get ready for noisy niebors, loud music and screaming in stair well. Cheep materials and bad craftsmanship. Within a week of moving in my water heater broke! stained carpet, leaky facets, crappy fridge, broken blinds, est. The leasing office has a horrible attitude too, Bad record keeping as well. While living here the office said I owed $1,200 which I frustratedly paid, and upon request my account was audited and they found that I was correct and unwillingly returned my money (minus $150 fees). The parking lot is littered with trash and broken cars, and the dumpsters are always overflowing. The one plus side is this place has great maintenance workers that will diligently fix anything you ask. Over all this place is ok, but I wouldn t live here if I where you.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
This place is cheap and ugly, with the prerequisite trash and broken glass strewn throughout the parking lot which is home to one or two broken down cars on cinder blocks. As if that weren't bad enough just wait until you try and leave, that is when you really find out what this place is all about! The property managers and their corporate cronies have no qualms about lying to your face while giving you "the what are you going to do about it?" attitude. They have no problems making up charges and fees, as well as post dating paperwork so that it will appear that they have met legal deadlines for dealing with your security depostis and refunds.

If you don't regret your decision to live here after you have moved in, the management will certainly see to it that you regret it financially when you try and leave!!

look elsewhere
Problems:

1. You'll hear your neighbors all the time, especially when their bass is thumping in the very early morning.
2. Your neighbors will leave trash laying about outside, both on the stair landings and around the dumpster, which fills up frequently.
3. Roaches. It doesn't matter how clean you keep your place when the units surrounding you are filthy.
4. You've probably guessed by now that you won't have very good neighbors. There are some nice ones, but also a lot of problems. Police and fire came out at least three times in the last month I was there, and quite possibly more.

Positives:
1. Maintenance is responsive and competent.
2. Office staff is adequate, nothing special but fine.
3. Proximity to I-95 is excellent.
4. Eastern Woodbridge in general might not have much better to offer.
5. Good prices for the amount of living space, particularly in this area.
