Outside lights only work on 2 or 3 buildings, paint is peeling, the hallways are never cleaned. non residence use the pool and gym. Gate code has not been changed in two years. Staff blames problems on everyone else, maintenance people talk down to you and act like you caused the problem they are there to fix. Dishwasher backs up. no cable tv have to have direct tv.

I have lived at Spanish Fort Town Center Apartments almost since it opened in 2004 or 2005 and I still live here. I have owned a home in the past, and lived in apartments before, new ones. Spanish Fort Town Center Apartments are by FAR the best. At first, I thought I wouldnn't like living so close to a mall, but it has been surprisingly quiet. The overall appearance, the landscaping, the staff amd especially maintenance. They are always prompt to address any issue you may have inside or outside the apartment. I love the layout of my apartment because it had a built-in library shelf, tracking lights in the kitchen, and woodlike flooring for the kitchen. The office area is always clean & clean smelling and decorated in taste. The flowers, landscaping I absolutely love it. They change them frequently so that you never see dead flowers and shrubs that need attending. They are sensitive to those of us who are not pet owers, by establishing rules and guidelines for "clean-up" around the grounds to keep the area tidy. I travel alot, but I love coming home to my apartment. My neighbors are great! I can't say enough positive things about Spanish Fort. I don't "fluff" people this is the truth. Everything is always clean, and if it isn't, one call and it's promptly taken care of. The staff and maintenance need a raise! I don't know what they make and I know that means the rent will probably go up, but if it would KEEP this place like it is now...give 'em whatever they ask for!!!!

I thought I was in love until I moved in. The AC went out several times. You have to register with Direct TV that kept going out. The dish washer and garbage disposal kept going out and backing up with ahorrible smell I had to use bleach tokill the smell. Maintenance could never fix the problem the whole year. The office staff was missing half the time. I was quoted one price when I viewed the apartments and a new price once I signed my lease. Very unprofessional RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Poorly constructed!

I lived here for about a year and moved as soon as I could. Electrical problems throughout apartment. Garbage disposal had a horrible smell because the dishwasher was plumbed into the wrong way. A/C had to be worked on numerous times and was constantly running do to poor insulation. Windows were not installed properly and you could feel either hot or cold air coming through the seals depending on what time of year it was. Entire complex was constructed in a hurry and it shows. Pool is very small and rules are not enforced. Fitness room is missing weights and is never properly maintained and the office staff is not there when they are suppose to be. Dog crap all over the place too. Overall bad place to live!

It's like living in a college dorm..loud and dirty!

Unprofessional and unreliable staff. Poor property maintenance. Loud obnoxious tenants. A weight room that has been missing 75% of the dumbells since September of last year. A pool that is insecure, being used by non tenants regularly. Not a place for children unless you are ok with them hearing constant profanity, drunken parties and playing in grass covered in dog waste because the do not enforce picking up after pets.

HALF THE PEOPLE HERE HAVE DOGS OR CATS. AND YET SOMEHOW ITS VERY QUITE . NICE PEOPLE. FREE COFFEE AND HOT CHOCOLATE. GREAT MAINTENANCE TEAM FOR FREE VENTS AND LIGHTBULBS...CLEAN POOL. FREE WIFI. PEST CONTROL FEE . DIDN'T SEE A LOT OF BUGS OR PROBLEMS. VERY CLEAN ROOMS AND SHOWERS. OVERALL I GIVE IT A 9.

Overall great place to live

I have enjoyed living there for the past year and a half. The girls up front are always very nice and helpful. The maintanence guys are quick to respond to any problems. The neighbors seem to generally be good working people. The pool is very small but pretty nice. One of the best parts is the location though...it is easy to get across the bay to Mobile and one exit away from the Malbis mall.

It's Great!

I have lived here for two years. I lived in a one bedroom, but moved because mold kept occuring in the bedroom and in the bathroom. The staff kept on it and tried to fix it and the maintenance guys finally told me that it is because the window is not sealed properly and they would have to fix it because it is letting moisture in. I didnt want to wait so I asked if I could move. They let me move to a two bedroom. which is absolutely great! it is huge and the only complaint i have is that i can hear my upstairs neighbor when she does anything (close a cabinet door .. ahem SLAM a cabinet door, vacuum at 6am 3pm and 6pm (who does that?) and when she washes her clothes, takes a bath and stomps across the floor) but the pool is nice, the grounds are gorgeous, there are plenty places to jog outside, you can walk to the shopping center. I felt very safe living here, i have often left my porch door open all day and night and not felt like anyone was peeping or going to break in :) .. the neighbors are ALLL EXTREMELY friendly. you get to know just about everyone that lives here. The office has different parties for the tenants like (christmas parties, halloween contests and parties, new years breakfast and lunch, etc...). The front office knows EVErYONE by first name and where you live! how cool is that?! Also you can go to the front office and play pool, watch tv (two different ones to choose from where you can turn the channel to whatever you like), they have a computer center and you can RENT movies for FREE from the front office and return whenever you want to. :D (yay) If you need anything fixed, someone will be out that SAME day to fix it too. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this apartment complex! I have never heard of any crimes in this apartment complex either! the entire community is also GATED.. and there is sooo much to do around here. unfortunately i am moving because i got accepted a Medical School program but I loved it while i was here.. sorry it is so long but this apartment complex was totally worth it. Thanks Spanish fort!!

Nice, but needs some work

Overall we have had a good experience in the year that we have lived here. There are several problems that need to be addressed however. The AC unit is undersized, the electrical installation is questionable and may not meet code in all applications, the windows are not sealed very well and moisture gets in easily which can create a mold problem, and there are several other issues. The pool is small and the area around it has a poor lay out, but it is nice that it is salt water and is generally clean.

I have been living here from their start up date and have had a very comfortable, safe, convenient, and pleasant experience. I am treated like a family member by the staff. They have been very respectful and friendly to me and my entire family. They have done a number of things to pamper me in my requests. I have had an excellent apartment experience.

No complaints here!

We have lived here for about 8 or 9 months and have found our renting experience to be great! The girls in the office are always helpful and always have a smile in their face when I stop by to pick up a package or drop of my rent check. GREAT experience!

Very nice!

Since moving in last June, I've found SFTCA to be a great apartment community. Moving is never easy, but the staff went out of there way to help me and my daughter in any way possible. The layout of the apartment is perfect, the apartments are clean, and the complex itself is beautiful.

Questionable Service

Made an appointment to see an apartment in the afternoon. After taking time off work to go down there and taking the whole family along, I was told by the one person on duty that the office was closing early so that everyone could attend a staff meeting. I was told that I could not see any available apartment. This was a big waste of time and very embarrasing. After scheduling a time and coming down, I was met with a "you were who again? Sorry, come back later" kind of attitude.

Mold and Other Issues

This apartment complex was not built properly, and has major mold issues, especially around the window sills. Additionally, maintenance is not very good. I put in a request several times, and maintenance was unresponsive. There's been a broken window in the complex for over a month or two, and it hasn't been fixed. I don't know what they're waiting on, since that particular apartment looks vacant. Watch out because they also raise the rent on you, when your lease is up. There aren't many options for renting in this area, but I would try one of the other apartment complexes, if I had it to do over again -- especially because of the mold issue.

Very pleased!

My husband and I have lived at the SFTCA now for about 6 months. We really, really like it here! Everyone in the office is super nice and very helpful. Just moving to the area from out of state was hard, and they made us feel at home . The maintance crew are very fast to come if there is a problem. We love the gym...not usually is there many people in there at all. We feel safe and comfortable here and would reccomend these apartments to anyone.

Good experience so far!

I moved here the end of March and so far so good. Girls in the office are nice, guys in maintenance are nice and fast. All of my work order requests have been completed and the girls are always friendly and helpful when I call or stop by! I like living here and have referred 2 co-workers who have enjoyed it so far too.

No Complaints Here!

I am writing this review to offer my opinion since it seems everyone else that writes reviews only has negative things to say. Seriously, if you look at other apartments reviews you will see it is only angry people that add comments. My review is that I love living here and have since September of last year. I work downtown and the drive is great without having to live in Mobile. Beth leased me my apartment and she was very helpful and still is to date. I recommend this community to everyone I hear is looking to move. If I have any complaints it is only the pet waste. Pet stands are provided but tenants do not pick up after their pets all the time! But, I receive notices on my door from the office asking pet owners to do this, so the office is trying!

Could be better

When I first moved here this place was great! Nice and quite Just a few neighbors, being a new place thinking that everything is new it would be well built and quite. Well once we got more people moving in and I finally got neighbors above me and to the back is when I noticed that the contractor that built this place skimped out on the insulation and sound building practices. Even thought that I cannot hear them talking I do hear every foot step they make. I even hear water flowing threw the pipes,slamming doors and cabinets. Office staff needs to be replaced, often mindless, and forgetting that they had a packages sitting up there for over a month, but never even thought to notify the tenant they have arrived. They wont even make the delivery guys attempt to deliver. Messing up paper work and constantly loosing documents requiring me to return to the office often. Once one of the office staff gave a key to a placement company looking at some of the vacant apartments. Well they wound up walking in on me, un-escorted by any of the staff. Goes to show some of the mindless acts they have done. Overall this place could be better if they had a properly staffed and professional office.

Just like a Monet painting..

I have lived here at SFTCA for 3 months now and in my opinion they are like a Monet painting. Beautiful to look as as long as you don't pay too close attention. I moved here thinking they would be a beautiful, child safe, pet friendly place to live. They are in an affluent area, so I assumed that I wouldn't have to deal with the usual "trash" that inhabits many apartment dwellings. WRONG!!! Within a month SFTCA became inundated with what my cop husband refers to as undesirables. Young men with their pants below their butts, and gutter mouths like you wouldn't believe. No sooner do I bring my 6 year old outside, than our ears are assaulted with F-bombs. The parking lot is filling up with cars that would look more appropriate in a junk yard. Not a weekend goes by that I don't have to pick up beer bottles outside my balcony. And the cigarette butts are just EVERYWHERE! Poor Justin our maintenaance man spends hours each day just picking them up off the ground. I can't understand how people can just blindly trash the place that they live. I can barely take my young daughter to the pool because of the bad launguage and constant beer drinking from the young men and women there. I'm grateful that they are a pet friendly establishment, but they don't bother enforcing the "scoop your own poop" rule, so you can hardly walk to the grassy areas without stepping on dog turds. My daughter and I take extra poop bags when we walk out dog so that we can pick up other dog's poop. There are a few positive things though I suppose. The gym is nice, and is never too busy. I love being able to walk to Bass Pro Shop. And we have a great maintenance team. I doubt very much that I will stay the length of my contract though...

Staff and bath tubs

I have been living here since February and I have had a few problems. The first one is that my bathtub was leaking and it took a few weeks to get the crew that installed them to come and fix it... After talking to a few other people living in the apartments they are also having the same problems with the bathtubs and the water leaking into the walls and causing mold and mildew. The staff was really nice at first but then after you move in they are not as nice. A couple of the issues I have had with them personally is that they never return my calls and I have given requests to them for the maintance guys to come and fix things but they never give them the messages. However, when the maintance guys do get the request they are excellent and fast in helping you with any issues.
