Loving the new changes!
This apartment complex has undergone some renovations in the last few months. The new courtyard looks wonderful and inviting. I have been here for quite some time and have noticed the change in how work order requests are now being completed in a timely manner by the Maintenance supervisor, Martin, and his team. I am looking forward to the rest of the changes that are happening around the property. I know it sucks to be inconvenienced by renovations, but in the end, it will be a better complex for us all.

Great place to live
I’ve really enjoyed Nobel Court Apartments! The pool is heated year-round, which is such a nice perk, and the courtyards are always clean and well-kept – perfect for relaxing outside. The location is super convenient with plenty of shopping and restaurants just minutes away. Overall, it’s a great community to call home!

I absolutely love living here! Yvonne in the leasing office is the absolute best! She’s always so happy and friendly and very helpful and responsive to any questions, concerns, or issues you may have. She really works hard to keep all the residents happy and she is always updating us if any construction or maintenance is going to occur. The apartment is great and renovated with in unit laundry and the pool is beautiful and great to use in the summer. Overall 5/5

Do NOT rent here
First off, this apartment complex is incredibly overpriced for what they offer. The only thing "luxury" is their location. The apartment I toured wasn't even cleaned, the toilet was disgusting full of feces. None of their units have a/c even though the building themselves do. You will literally feel better walking out of the apartment. Not exactly a deal breaker but for the price point they charge it's worth noting. My process of applying here was dreadful, I filled it out entirely online but then had to do more forms of the exact same information that was input online already. Only to be denied after initially being told preapproved, their requirement is 3x the month rent, which most places is 2.5 btw. Was told the entire 2-3 days of the application process that judging from everything that was presented to them we would be fine and meet the requirements. We were heavily misled numerous times. The employee Samantha provides fake transparency. Do not believe a word she says for a second. She is incompetent and clearly lost in the process. It could be that she is newer but that's not much of an excuse. There was heavy layer of uncertainty when asked some questions, many times she had to ask her manager who was never there on site. There are some updates they have done on their units but you can definitely tell they went the cheap way about it. The vinyl flooring was cheap and poorly put in so it keeps bubbling and lifting on multiple units we viewed. The bathrooms overall were definitely overlooked in terms of updates and renovations. The bathtub hardware was older and gross with lots of buildup. It really isn't luxury as they claim it to be, a lot of other apartments in the area that fit that title. I overlooked a lot of the red flags and bad points because the location is great for us, my partner being able to walk to work. But in hindsight its not worth it, I'd take a commute over the blatant lack of care and deception we encountered. I'm glad we dodged a bullet, do yourself a favor and please head my warning. Do not rent here. THEY ALSO DELETE BAD REVIEWS ON DO NOT GET FOOLED!!

Great so far
I am the parent of an out of state student at UCSD. Naiza was very helpful and answered all my questions (I had a lot) in a timely manner. She made me feel very comfortable having my daughter live. The move in process was very easy. Jackie and Joe were both welcoming and helpful the day we moved in. It has been a month, and we have had two service requests. Maintenance has fixed the issues within 24 hours of our request.

I had a positive move-in experience!
Naiza Castro, Assistant Property Manager, helped me move in, and she was very accommodating. She provided me with a folder with all the details I needed, helped replace my garage key, and even took the time and effort to show me a different apartment when I was a bit unsure about the location of the unit I was intending to rent. Overall, I think I was really satisfied with my move-in experience and appreciative of the service I was given.

It’s fine
They were very nice upon move in but when you’re out of there they basically try to get all the money they can. They take your whole security deposit. Charge high cleaning fee automatically even if you left it how it was given to you. Wish I would have taken pics as proof to fight it. One manager even told me directly there’s no chance of getting the money back because they always charge you for cleaning and floor replacement no matter what. Also fire alarms go off in the middle of the night for no reason and are super loud. Walls are also very thin and you can hear everyone and every thing, parking spaces super small, and cars get broken into in the garage. Just not great for the price and glad I’m out of there

Aside from the fire alarms going off constantly in the middle of the night, and the fact that I've had my car broken into multiple times. I'd still give this 0 stars. The security is atrocious, the gates to the garage don't even lock, anytime you approach the office with an issue they do nothing to support you. I had my car broken into and they stole the garage key, I saw the office employee walk into the office 30 min before it opened to ask for a spare as I needed to go to work, they replied "we aren't open". The parking spaces are tight even with a compact car and its a free for all for parking so if you come home late good luck finding a spot as the tandem spots aren't even utilized because why would you need to park behind your roommate when you can just take up more single parking. Ask to see your unit before you move in because they showed me the best unit in the whole complex only to move me into a unit with 1970s compliances and wood work. This place is a joke.

As a current actual tenant that's not an active student at UCSD, let me say this: if you are not a student who needs the convenience of the short distance from campus, you should not have to suffer the high rent costs here for the poor quality of living you have to endure for however long of a lease you sign. As soon as I can find a new place to live, I will be moving out asap. As per the rating criteria, I will be writing a breakdown of Nobel Court. Noise: First off, the design and materials that went into constructing the buildings Nobel leases are one of the poorest I've ever encountered. Most corners are cut on construction, meaning that you have appliances that will leak, window seals that will eventually introduce mildew and mold, and crooked outlets/metal vents on almost everything you can inspect. Most damningly of all, the walls here are paper-thin: if your upstairs neighbors have a pet or a creaky bed, you will hear every drop of a squeaky toy and every shift of the tenants upstairs when they turn in their beds. If you live in a unit next to the main street heading towards the highways, be prepared to have a ceaseless stream of car noises and street ambience present at most hours, up to and including: the owners of motorcycles who modify the exhaust of their bikes and rev as loudly as they can coming up the street, setting off car alarms, and people who talk right outside your window. This is a daily occurrence. Why not close the window and mitigate most of the street noise? Because of the poor room design in the 2b 2ba, the non master bedroom window needs to be open 24/7 to allow for ventilation; mildew will grow if this is not done. I'll address this shortly below. Grounds: the exterior stinks permanently of dog droppings that owners do not pick up and the wet scent of sprinklers that essentially soak it into the building. The interior smells no better: the carpeted areas smell constantly of urine and again, mold. The narrow driveway towards the underground garage during the day usually has several maintenance and mail trucks parked on the side, meaning that you'll be forced to make dangerous maneuvers in the opposite lane to get over. The garage itself has very narrow parking spaces and room movement in general, coupled with a low ceiling; you will likely have to back into your space. Safety: the door locks leading into the community are some of the flimsiest I've ever seen, and some doors are left open during the day regardless, completely rendering the 'closed community' aspect useless. Neighborhood: it's a shame a corporation like Nobel has control over these buildings, because if not for their terrible building upkeep and management, this would be a lovely place to live. It's very near a plaza filled with grocery stores, restaurants and entertainment, and about a 20 minute walk to UCSD campus. Maintenance: the one part of Nobel that will respond to you within a day, and the most efficient. Several maintenance men are pleasant, but there was one who was visibly begrudging when I first moved in and pointed out several issues in the room I was renting. The mold/mildew issue in my room was extremely apparent when I first moved in due to a lack of ventilation on the previous tenants' parts, and still has not been resolved. There were also small carpenter ants that appeared in my bathroom area for a month, and mosquitoes during the summer due to the countless puddles around Nobel. Probably stems from leaks in the piping. Staff: one of the most shocking parts. When I first moved in, it took a 40+ email chain for them to initiate the application process with mistakes all on their part due to a combination of technical errors and incompetent staff who took up to a day to respond. When I finally came in person to sign the lease, the woman who helped us at the office told me point blank that "I hate working here." The staff also stopped accepting mail deliveries at the front desk a few months into my stay here, also at their fault (they didn't have a system in place to notify tenants of deliveries, and packages began to pile up.) Worst of all, after getting the signature and money from me, Nobel has stopped responding to my emails in a timely manner. I don't email often except to resolve maintenance issues in my apartment and to ask about the lease, but it took Nobel up to 2 weeks (two whole weeks!) to get back to me. That is unacceptable, and one of the reasons why I am so miserable here. I have not been here long, and I am already looking to move. Nobel, change your policies, your conduct, everything-- and maybe you'll see better reviews here.

Terrible. Twice an appointment was made to pick up the keys to the apartment, and they failed to show up to the office both times, during their normal business hours, with no prior notice. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Super disappointed neibours told us that they increase the rent ridiculously every year. It was true. So we left but that's not they kept 300 dollars out of our 630 deposit when they gaved us the apartment it was in terrible conditions but we were too happy to be leaving on our own and didn't want to complain also we signed a paper that said all the things that was wrong with it! So we thought they were being honest and ttrustworthy but then SURPRISE they charge us 309 for cleaning! when we moved out even tho we left it shinny super clean from cleaning it for 3 days also I thought it was weird that in the letter where we were moving out they put on print reason for leaving and it said moving closer to work and we crossed it the reason for moving was because the raise the rent ridiculously! The last day Amy the manager came and told me hey you didn't do these paper and it was again the same of reason for moving CLOSER TO WORK and I was weird I already did that one and I still scratched that part and wrote reason to move RENT INCREASE and even the guy that was helping me said you didn't had to do that letter again it was right here look! The maintenance guy and cleaning lady were courteous and professional!

Our experience with Nobel Court was not great. We first moved in this community at July 2015, and at the time all other places nearby were full. We went for 2 nice 2br apt at top floor facing south, the rent was the highest but we are ok with it. However, the first month after we move in, problem just shows. The pipeline in restroom generates a loud and high pitch shrieking sound like Soprano in the symphony (only the pitch, is a thousand time higher...). Its not all the time, but quite several times per day, and truly terrible. This happens when water pipe is old, and when you live in high floor where water pressure is high. The Maintenance tried and they cannot do anything to fix it. Later upon agreement, we were transferred to a first floor, no sunlight place with the same highest rent. And surprisingly, immediately after we move out, the same problem unit was rented to someone else without even fixing the pipe...impressive. After we were transferred to the first floor unit, we starting to facing a big problem - so when you live in first floor and at least in my unit. You will be surprised that the ceiling floor is incredibly thin, and we starting to hear all kinds of sound coming from upstairs. People from my upstais don't want to wear indoor slippers. And they sure are heavy footers. So we can hear almost every footstep they make, day and night...And, we can even sometimes here upstairs going to restroom, after midnight (probably a guy...). When we complained to Nobel Court, they told us to deal with it, because this is just normal APT living. (Well, it's Nobel Court APT living I am sure:) And it's kinda extraordinary, when you can literally hearing people pee...). Well, there are Pros for this "unbelievable" place as well. First, it builds up your sound proofing capability (especially when your sleeping while your upstairs are heavily pounding the floor and partying). Our lease ends in one month. And I am pretty sure that if I survives here, I can pretty much survive any other place in this world. Second, it builds your communication skills. As you will need to communicate with leasing center, maintenance guy, and your neighbors for the problem you have. Our upstairs are cool undergrad students. And it's just their living style that they go bare foot because you have the cheap cashmere carpet in room (surprisingly never see this kind of fake carpets in when Iived in China...).And they are just happens to be DNA equipped as heavy footers. But overall, I gave one star because I am little surprised by the greediness of the community. Our lease ends soon, and the rent for this place increases to close to 2400 per month (first floor, loud upstairs, and no sunlight). It sounds like a slap in your face, and say to you that "you've chosen us, this is what you get". Plus our old unit was immediately rented out without fixing the problem, I have to say that I did not see this coming when I signed the lease:) Well, different people will have different experience. it's just that when you choose here, be careful with the water pipe for high floors, and the loudness when you go with first floor (the unit number I lived is 3119 and 2315).

If I could give this apartment complex a zero star rating, I would in a heartbeat. If you are considering living here, I advise to avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. There are 5 major events that lead me to completely despise living at this complex (and I only lived here for 4 months): 1) MY CAR WAS BROKEN INTO WITHIN A MONTH OF LIVING AT NOBEL COURT - I come down to the "secured" garage one day to go to work, and see that my back window is not only completely smashed, but about $3000 worth of stuff was taken from car. The strange part about this was that all this stuff was in a hidden compartment in the back of my car (I have an SUV). After a police officer came and take a report, he theorized that culprit may be a resident at the complex or a friend of a resident. He mentioned that 5 other cars in MY ROW had been broken into, all within A MONTH; he subsequently pointed out a few of them. When I reported this to the management, they told me I had bad luck and that I was the first known case of this happening... 2) MANAGEMENT IS DISHONEST AND LIES TO TENANTS - As I mentioned previously, the cop that filed the report on my car break-in pointed to a couple of cars that he had filed reports on. A few days later, I saw the owner of one the cars that had been broken into a couple weeks before mine and talked to her for a bit. She stated that she had talked to management right after the incident occurred. In fact, she had talked to the EXACT SAME WOMAN I had talked to. Management obviously had no problem lying directly to my face. 3) MULTIPLE DOMESTIC DISTURBANCES (STEMMING FROM ABUSE) OCCURRING LATE AT NIGHT - Multiple times at either midnight or later on weeknights there would either be loud shouting (probably just drunk college students) or verbal fighting. Everything was very audible through paper thin walls, and a few times the police were called in to settle things. 4) EXCESSIVE UNNECESSARY MAINTANENCE - Without fail, once a week some sort of notice was posted on my door saying that some sort of maintenance needed to be performed. Often times this involved having to move my car out of the secured garage for things such as repainting the lines (maybe putting some darn security cameras would be a better use of resources) with the threat of towing if the car was not moved out in time. 5) PACKAGE THEFT - Two of my neighbors had packages stolen multiple times. Considering that there is a "security door" to get into the complex, this is absolutely ridiculous. In conclusion, stay away from this place and save your money from the ridiculously high rent. Prior to living here, I lived in a couple complexes in high crime/dangerous areas and none of the crap that happened at Nobel Court ever happened to me there.

I've loved living here...
I've loved living here for the past year and a half and will stay as long as they don't raise the rent.

Likes and Dislikes: What I like: Great location. Quiet and clean complex. Management staff is super helpful and friendly. They're quick to take care of any service requests. Good gym equipment. Lots of space and storage in the 2 bedroom units. What I dislike: The parking spots are extremely small - but I can't complain since we're lucky to even have off-street, gated parking. Just pray that the people who park next to you know how to stay between the lines. Rent is pretty high and residents have to pay for all utilities.

They should change their name for Nobel Crook. Be very careful with them. Ask receipt for everything you paid because they will try to charge you late fee. Never gave them a posted check. They can cash it before the date. In my case, they did it. That was lease contract violation and they make me paid for their mistake. Watch out!!! If you have a parking, be aware. They gave a parking already assigned to another one. My car get towed. I paid... As I say, they make you paid when they do mistake and they will try to rip you off every time they will the chance to do it. Be very careful with them. Do not go there if you are not a lawyer... Remind this when you deal with them:Nobel Crook!!!!!!

Let me start off by saying that I moved out recently because my lease was up and the new rent would have increased by about $100. That being said I have very little complaints about this apartment. Other than small parking spots and having too low of a clearance to drive an F-350 into the underground parking, the assigned parking was very nice. As long as neighbors don't have parties, noise isn't an issue. The grounds are very green and well maintained. On grounds BBQs for residents are also very nice. Not only does the front door to the unit seem very sturdy and have a nice lock on it, a key is needed just to enter the building (as long as someone doesn't leave the door ajar). The construction of the apartment seems cheap for the price of rent but I had very little problems. When I had a problem with my shower (a bad shower head) the maintenance staff was in my apartment and had it fixed within 30 minutes of telling the office staff. Both the maintenance staff and office staff are very helpful and nice.

I currently live here with my boyfriend and our 7yr old daughter and we LOVE it. It's very safe and quiet. If you ever need any maintenance done its done quickly and correctly. The staff is always very helpful and will treat you amazingly. The buildings and parking garages are all locked; both keys and remotes are needed to enter. The post below said his car was stolen, It was stolen from outside the parking garage and the keys were left in the car. He was my neighbor, that is how I know. ;) so safety is a key part living here. My ONLY complaint living here, is when the manager is off the assistant manager is in charge and it is very clear she does not know what she is doing. There have been times I've walked in and saw she was in charge for the day or the time being, and I will leave and wait until the main manager comes back. He is the only one who seems to have any experience in this field..... :(

noisy
The upstairs neighbor is walking in his apartment right now at 2am; and he also uses his washer/dryer at this time - it has been a few days like this and it happens quite often since I moved in half year ago. The wall/floor is paper thin. If you get a bad upstairs neighbor, you have to adapt to his schedule. And I'll need to get up to go to work every weekday... The more unfortunate thing is a while ago I complained this to the apartment office and requested them to send a notice to the upstairs neighbor, but seems that does not help. Other than the noise issue, it is an OK apartment. Staff are OK, but I don't see they are helping to solve this upstairs noise issue - it is not 11pm or 12am, it is some one making noise at 2am or 3am and it happens not just once or twice.

Not bad
Nobel Court makes itself look quite luxurious. The outside landscaping and hallway decors are very nice. The volleyball court with a bbq stove next to it is very convenient. The glass doors and the "high" security due to the "FOBS" (sensor keys) makes this place seem very safe and high end. But to be honest, I was quite disappointed with the interior quality. The kitchen drawers were all cracked and peeling, some had water damage. The counter looks dirty even though it is clean. The bathroom counter was crooked so water puddles always slide down to the corners where my makeup bag. There must be something wrong with the septic tank because no matter how much we cleaned our toilet, it still smelled. Every morning,I get woken up by either the dumpster trucks or the gardeners who are trimming or mowing. Also, tandem parking is horrible. The price is high for what it is. For me though, if I had gotten a remodeled apartment for the price I am paying $1850 for plan D, I would be extremely satisfied and would give this place a 4.5 overall. If it was not tandem parking, I would give it a 5. Despite all that, the location is great! Between two grocery stores within walking distance. Very close to bus stop. So basically, you are paying for the convenience.

We live here for about 4 years and we love it! It is close to UCSD campus and hospital, shops, mall, interstate 5... Georgette and Renee have always been very nice to us from the day we moved in. They are very professional and always try to help. My neighbors are very friendly people. They all live here for even longer than we do. I like that we have laundry in each apartment. We are overlooking the street so it can get a little bit noisy sometimes Grounds are well kept, clean and we have lots of amenities. All the issues that we had in apartment are resolved quickly and professionally. We would not be staying here for so long if we did not like it!

SCAM
This rating thing is a scam. Two months ago, Nobels' rating was 17. They paid off residents to send in favorable reviews and now they are at 55, probably the highest in the world. It's all a scam. The buildings are old and not well maintained, the staff is ok except for --------- who is a ------. You can talk about the location all you want, its good; but the facility is a slum. So for anyone looking at the 55 rating, its a scam. Who else would pay off their residents to write a review? The place s ucks. ITs noisy, smelly, the garage is pathetic. The spaces are small, its damp and there are puddles on the floor. Everyone I spoke to there couldn't wait to get out. Nobel is truly a 17, one of the lowest in San Diego. They artificially got it up to 55 by paying off residents for good reviews. What else do you need to know??
