Poor Management
I lived in Nobel Court for just over a year. It was shortly after I had moved in that the apartments were sold to an investment company looking to reap the benefits of the San Diego housing prices. Needless to say, it was all downhill from here. It seems that the office was always closed, they never picked up the phone, nor did they care to return messages. I was locked out of my apartment one night as I flew in from a vacation and their after-hours emergency service suggested that I get a hotel room for the night, instead of sending someone to let me in (they do have security and maintenance after-hours). FYI, they did not help me at all that night, so I had to hire a locksmith to come in and let me in (who I paid out of pocket). The management expects its tenants to own up to their responsibilities while they never showed signs of any reciprocation.

Hot water has gone for 2days and we have no idea when it is coming back...<br>I called the management office and no one answered the phone...(of course, its their office hour now)<br>I am moving out soon because of this terrible management and I do not recommend this place not only to buy it but also to rent it.

HELL HOLE
I lived here for 2 years. Couldn't agree more with the office staff. I'm sitting here 6 weeks after moving out and am still waiting on my deposit. They now refuse to answer any emails or calls about it and I'm getting legal assistance. I could hear my next door neighboor sneeze, pee or anything else. This place is HORRIBLE! On top of it all, unfixed leaks have lead to mold all on the 3rd floor - and they refuse to do anything about it.

HORRIBLE!
The management of this place is a NIGHTMARE! Extremely unorganized and unless you are buying their condos, you are considered pond scum. I am finally leaving this place after a year...lets just say since the condo conversion, I have had 12 notices of tours of my apartment (conveniently placed after office hours) where I have had to clean up for them to "show/ sell" my place. The walls are paper thin, I can hear my neighbors taking a shower and their kids crying all night, the security gates are always open now that the construction crew needs to get in and out, they closed all of the underground public parking for the construction crew equipment, the 1 of 2 pools has finally reopened after closing for 4 months for the "grand opening". Even upon leaving this place I have had nothing but trouble...my apartment is sold so now they come in a out of my place to do updates for the new buyer. I have had zero privacy in 6 months. Needless to say...don't buy here - it is TERRIBLE, I can't imagine paying $240000 for this!

Villa Vicenza is Nobel Court and it has issues.
I thought I would write this review so people can have a complete view of Villa Vicenza/Nobel Court life. For those who don't know that they are one in the same, Villa Vicenza is Nobel Court. On the good side, the area is convenient for shopping, the building has a lot of amenities and there's a built-in rental demand from the UC. <br><br>Noise is definitely an issue at Villa Vicenza. Depending on where you live there is a great deal of street noise at all times of day. During the night, the drag racers can raise a racous. <br><br>In addition, the walls are very thin. Living here for a few years, I've heard noise from apartments that share a wall, from below and from other buildings ( my place faced another building ). It would be hard to imagine how that would improve through the condo conversion.<br><br>Car theft has also been a problem here even with security. Many, including myself, have had their cars vandalized and things stolen. Gangs, who are attracted to the area due to the easy freeway access, nice cars and bad security, find little resistance. <br><br>Long story short, I wouldn't live here but I may consider buying and renting the place out ( if the mortgate/rent case made any sense - which it doesn't ). I assume many people who buy are interested in renting ( another reason I wouldn't buy to live here).

I RENTED- AND BOUGHT! AND LOVE IT!
I was a resident of Nobel Court and have purchased my unit under the new Villa Vicenza.. and I love it here! Its quiet (I'm sorry but UC students don't party!) the new pool area is beautiful and I'm thinking about doing the upgrades because even though the original cabinetry (I have the white package) is nice.. the granite, stainless steel appliances and lighting look really great.<br>Most of the people on this site are really sad- If living in La Jolla is the worst you've ever had it- well then I really don't feel sorry for you! Ha!

i agree, DO NOT BUY
they just converted this apartment into a condo called villa vicenza. very thin walls, horrible office staffs who really don't give a crap, and poor floor plans. Recent remodel didn't change anything beside color of the wall, so don't be fooled. When I used to rent there, there were a lot of students and constant noise both from inside (next door neighbor due to the thin walls) and outside.

Do not buy.
The conversions are being rushed to get in the market as quickly as possible. They are cutting corners everywhere possible. I've lived here for 3 years and they are treating me like dirt because they want me out so they can sell my unit. They broke my lease and have contruction crews working at 7 AM every morning, even on weekends. So I am woken up by stomping on my ceiling and loud pounding every morning.

Nobel Court is Villa Vicenza but the comments apply still
These comments are all actually applicable to Villa Vicenza in La Jolla or San Diego, since they changed the name from Nobel Court to Villa Vicenza. It is managed by La Cima condominium management company and the only new thing they have done is add a new coat of paint. This is so google can help identify Villa Vicenza as being the crappy condo complex that it is, despite the name change.

do not buy or rent!!!!!! Sue the management
This place violates tenants rights. There are also housing code violations. <br><br>This place is horrible. Management is terrible. They are unhelpful and are unwilling to help. There is construction everywhere and it interferes with everyday life. You'll be unhappy and regret ever living here.<br>

We should sue!
Seriously.<br><br>Security? Non-existent. The gates are almost always broken or left ajar (the closing mechanisms don't function).<br><br>Fire alarms going off ALL THE TIME! And it takes forever (as in, hours) for someone to show-up and turn them off.<br><br>The place is a freaking fire hazard. I'm definitely calling the Fire Marshall to come and look at this place. They're parking their construction equipment in the fire lanes. Gee...<br><br>I've been trapped in the elevator 2 times. I informed the management that it needed to be fixed. A week later, I got trapped again.<br><br>In all the years I've lived here, never had an issue with water being shut off. Since these clowns took over, water was being turned off "for maintenance reasons" almost once a month.<br><br>How many times have you entered the elevator and been overpowered by noxious fumes? Too many to count...<br><br>Maintenance request? Forget it.<br><br>Oh, and my favorite - the maintenance staff walking into my apartment without warning and unannounced - they didn't even bother to knock!<br><br>Oh, and for you people planning on buying here (it's called Villa Vicenza now, as if the new paint and name makes this place better)... don't plan on having guests over. The parking is atrocious!<br><br>You'll definitely get to know your neighbors - what they're watching, their waking hours and their sexual habits (or lack thereof) - without ever having to leave your apartment! The thin walls guarantee that.

Here we go, it's 2:10 am and the alarm went off once again. It happens pretty much every month. If you want to live in hell, rent or buy this place.<br>

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
Do not rent or buy this apartment, this place sucks. The management is non-existence, and the management people become hostile to you when you are not buying the apartment. The alarm goes off in the middle of night couple of times per month, there is no one you can call. Now they are kicking residents out before the lease terminate, just to get quick cash. Very questionable and dishonest people.

Do not purchase these conversions!!!
I have increasingly become dissatisfied by the treatment that I have received from the Nobel Court managing staff that I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am disgusted by the unprofessionalism and insincerity displayed towards current tenants. The treatment towards new tenants and prospective buyers is a 180 degree turn around compared to that of the current tenants. I discourage anyone that is interested in purchasing these properties from doing so. Not only am I dissatisfied with the staff, but I am ready to give up the mold on the window sills, the sulfur smell from the drains, and the tremendous noise experienced from the thing walls and floors.

don't buy/rent here
I would not invest in this property becuase it is way overpriced for a simple apartment. They are starting to get run down and they won't even renovate it before calling it a condo. Living here is noisy too (lots of noise from street and neighbors) and depending on which apt you're in, it's too hot or cold. Heaters are ancient and no AC.<br>Plus the new managment and owner are especially inconsiderate and will almost go out of there way to be uncooperative.

It was like living in an empty, creepy hotel.
The parking garage was always full, but we rarely saw any other neighbors. It was weird. The Fairfield staff was incredibly rude and condescending, and it was difficult to get anyone to come in and fix any of the (numerous) problems in the apartment. I agree with whoever said that the maintenance staff is great-- I lost my wallet in the garage and the maintenance staff found it and returned it to me the same day! The fire alarm was the worst. We knew it would be bad when it went off the first time at 3 in the morning and we were the only ones who left the apartment to go out to the street-- we figured it must be a pretty regular occurrence. And it was! I can't believe they're selling these places from the high $200s... do yourself a favor and don't bother looking into this place!

I've moved into Nobel Court during their transition from Fairfield to this new company, so now they're selling the property one unit at a time. Although nothing much has changed when it comes to living situation and price of rent, the new staff members are so bad. They are very unprofessional and doesn't seem to care about the problems that deals with the actual residents. The only person you can trust to get things done is James. I filed three IDENTICAL maintenance report to three separate staff member but only when it reached James that it was completed. <br><br>Because of the transition, we were stuck with the buildling going through the renovations. THis means awful drilling/demolation noises starting at 8 in the morning til 5pm. We lost the use of our patio and the courtyard is an absolute mess. We're the first building they're doing this to, meaning if you 're going to be moving in, expect noise.<br><br>Parking isn't bad in the apartment. The spaces are quite big and there are plenty of street parking.

I wouldn't recommend it
Being a graduate of UCSD, I have lived in many apartment complexes in the area and I must say that Nobel Court is the only one that I would not recommend. I live on the 2nd floor of 3 and I am surrounded by noise. Not only are the walls thin but the noise has caused the windows to reverberate. I have left 2 messages to management over the past 10 months and have not received 1 return call. I have spoken to management once and have received a condescending attitude and rude replies. <br><br>I don't recommend anyone to buy or rent these units. I would like to say that the service crew is friendly, very approachable and helpful.

Fire alarm always goes off in the early A.M.
Fire alarm constantly goes off! Often in the early A.M. on the weekdays! We dont even know if it's real or a false alarm anymore!!! That's how often it goes off! New management sucks, they will give you the run around. They try to conseal their flaw with property improvements. Examples of such are the remodeled units which was built in sush a rush that the cabinets are misaligned, the sink plumbing leaks along with the dish washer. The insulation is very poor and there a air leaks from my balcony door and room windows. And on my 1st week of move in, the sink disposal had a nail stuck which stopped it from working. Uppon checking the disposal, the property worker accused us of putting the nail there!!! Ironic how that works!!! Garage plumbimg is also constantly leaking. I had a co-worker live in a different unit and the underground parking plumbing was leaking onto her car causing paint damages and the management team did noting to reimburse or come to a settlement. They will blame you for parking in that location with the leaking pipe! and that's exactly what they did.<br>Dont be fooled by the remodeling they did...it's all a cover up. Thats all!

Terrible Management
The new management is terrible! Staff are rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. Never walk in the office and ask for assistance when there are no "future residents" present. They will treat you like nobody and send you from one staff to another. Poor phone manner as well, so don't ever think about calling them to solve any problem.
