Started out fantastic, ended horribly.
My husband and I moved to the Century Palms at World Gateway in March of 2011 after a less than favorable experience at another complex in Orlando. We had previously looked at the complex when it was the Avenues at World Gateway, but were unable to make a decision as quickly as they wanted us to. A year later we came back and were taken to it right away. Intitally, we were drawn to the staff because they were very helpful and polite and we later discovered how beautiful the property was. We were very happy with our chosen floor plan, as it was the right size for what we were looking for at the time. Almost immediately, we began having problems with our upstairs neighbors. They were loud and inconsiderate and the problems mostly were with their dog. Even after complaining and an empty threat that was made by the office, the noise never stopped. When it came time for us to think about renewing, we were going to go with a four month lease and then move into a house of our own. The renewal rate for the four months was outrageous and even for a twelve month lease it was unappetizing. Laundry units and microwaves are not included in all units, which caused a problems for us. The laundry room is only open until 11pm and does add up after awhile. The pool was nice, but there were occasionally rude residents smoking and leaving trash near the pool area. Parking was not a problem for us, as we were able to get a spot right outside our patio. A large part of the complex is empty, as they are having problems renting, mostly due to location. There are perks to the Century Palms, but after awhile, the cons outweighed the pros. I would strongly consider doing a lot of research before signing any paperwork. If I had the information I have now when we first moved here, I would have chosen another complex in a heartbeat. **I'd also like to add that the property manager is incredibly rude. She made me cry after a meeting I had with her to discuss renewal options. She spoke to my husband and I like we were stupid and didn't understand what she was saying.

Nice but NOT worth it
Ive lived here since last Nov, and honestly its not as nice as I thought it was going to bed. Pros: The apartments are very nice, and all have a balcony The ground are very well maintained The maintnence staff is awsome Very quiet All individual apartments have alarm systems and double locks. Cons: The spaces are a bit tight. THe office staff sucks, there stuck up and rude, you can see the fake oozing out of them when they talk to you If you live at the end of the complex your have to drive all the way around the complex because the second gate is only for exits. The walls are paper thin, I can here everything all teh time from Tvs to dryers going off at 3am. there SUPER strict about everything, it doesnt feel very home like when u cant even leave towels on your patio because it doesnt looks "nice" All in all I have felt safe living here, but it is not what they painted it out to be, and I am not very picky about anything. I highly doubt I will renew my lease here. The rent is ridiculously high the only reason I even moved in is because we cought a good deal on a one bedroom.

this is the absolute worst place I have ever lived
I cannot begin to even discuss the problems my roommate and I had with this place. Last year, the gate was broken probably 8 months out of the 12. It was due to a "lightning" strike which you know happens every day in central FL. Every complex in central florida has these same gates, but yet they couldn't be fixed for 8 months. Oh and the complex was bought out by a new company half way in between our lease. My problem was that I lost my gate key and was unable to use the amenities. They could not make me a new gate key so I went without one for months and months. I would have to sit and wait for a car to drive in and I was out of luck when it game to the amenities. They did absolutely nothing to compensate for their problems but do what? When the gate was working and they could program me a new key, of course they HAD to charge me 25 bucks. The management has absolutely no compassion for their residents and situations that arise. This place is ridiculously overpriced. My roommate and I paid 1200 for a 2 bedroom place. If I pay that much, I darn well should be able to use the amenities! Also... at the beginning with the other company we were allowed to pay separate with debits cards or checks. With the new company, they only accepted a fully written out check. This was another change that was inconvenient to us. I am not going to lie... the grounds are nice and the apartments are kept well. But this place is all about money. Money, money, and more money. And they will do everything they can to get it from you. They say they are keeping up with competitive prices around them.... ummm I am living in a place now that is nicer than that place and its almost 300 dollars less. So that was a big fat lie. I recently moved out and was sent a letter saying that if I did not pay charges (which were not even valid) they would sent it to collections. 2 days.. are you freaking serious? That is how you treat former tenants? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Don't Move Here!
The apartments are poorly constructed so the neighbors sound like they're in your living room. If you work and need to sleep at any time day or night don't move here. Look carefully at your lease to make sure you are paying the right amount. Not worth the money you pay and the apartments are only worth it if you are friends of the staff.

Great Place to Live
The ownership has just changed so it is now called Century Palms at World Gateway. I have lived here for 2 years and will say that it is a great place to live. The 2 bedroom that I live in is spacious and clean with new (when I moved in) appliances. When my air conditioner broke and I had a problem with the door leading out onto the porch the maintenance crew had it fixed perfectly on the same day that I reported it. The facilities (pool, fitness room, etc) are well kept and clean and I use them often. The neighbors are friendly and only on occasion do you hear them, but much less than I have at past apartments. I have never had a problem with the office staff although at times they can seem a little snooty. I would be living here another year but my roommate is moving out of state and I need to find a 1 bedroom place that it slightly closer to my budget. Overall, I have really enjoyed living here and I would recommend this complex to anyone. As I've been searching for a new place I have been looking up reviews and it seems that many times the only people that leave reviews are those that had a bad experience and are looking for a place to complain about it. I had a great time here and I felt that I should share my experience.

Maitenance was helpful atleast.
We moved into Avenues just after they opened. We were completely sold on the apartment by the office manager at the time, Jaime. She was friendly, courteous and frankly a good saleswoman. When we moved in there wasn't really that many other people in the complex and we essentially had a private parking lot. As the place filled up, finding a spot got harder, but it was never impossible and I don't think I ever had to park a really long distance from our door. We were told when we moved in that we couldn't have the cable turned off and when the Bright House guy came we only had a few things moved in, so he set up the cable in the third bedroom and told us we would be good for the rest of the apartment. Turned out that the contractors only connected the cable to the third bedroom. We had to have maintenance come in so we could watch tv in the living room. We ended up having roof leaks that stained our balcony and the wall in the master. We never had any issues with the Maintenance guys, despite the complex changing the whole crew multiple times in our one year. As our lease grew to a close we tried getting it renegotiated since apartments like ours had been going for over $100 less a month than we were paying. at this point Jaime was long gone and Lynn was manager. She did the best she could to help us, but corporate wouldn't let her rework our lease. So, instead since we wanted to stay, she helped us find another model that we liked for a lower rent. After we signed our lease termination on our apartment and were approved for the transfer, Lynn suddenly was replaced. The new manager whose name I never even bothered to learn decided she needed to do an unannounced inspection of our apartment. I was sick at the time so the place didn't exactly look it's best. She then called me the following Friday to tell me that myself, my boyfriend and our roommate had to come to see her on Monday. When we got there she very rudely told us that she had decided to override the previous decision and deny us the transfer, stating that she couldn't afford to have us ruin another apartment on property. However, she'd be there whenever we were ready to resign our lease. This was less than a month before our lease was up. Luckily, I found a new apartment and we got the hell out. We left the apartment cleaner than it was when we moved in, we paid to have the carpets cleaned and everything else, and we still not only lost our $1408 seecurity deposit but were also charged an additional $250. The construction was totally shoddy, the staff was ever changing and getting worse each time, and the rates are just too high. The apartment we're currently living in is only about 30 sqft smaller than the one we had at Avenues and it costs $400 less a month. There were also several break-ins during our year there. Atleast the noise level, maintenance and parking were decent. To anyone who thinks we were probably just problem tenants, the office had nicknamed us the 'quiet ones on the corner.' We only bothered the office when necessary and most of our neighbors didn't even realize anyone lived in our apartment.

Bend over a dollar to pick up a dime. Long time residents beware. The new Manager Jenni Wicker is ruining our community and will be driving us out. We received our renewal letter, she wanted a $135 increase (ridiculous) . We went to speak with her and she has a take it or leave it attitude. She would come down to $90, I said I don't mind paying a modest increase and she said she would have to email corporate. Two weeks went by with no response. I went to the office again, her assistant walked me in. She had her back to me working on the computer. She said what can I do for you? I told her my co-worker had just moved in to the same apartment at a rate of $50 less than my present rate.I said I would wait until she was done with her back still to me. She turned and said fine, then the attitude came out. I was willing to split the difference of the $90, she said no it would be to much explaining to corporate, but she will get back to me. SEVEN weeks have gone by with no response (really). I believe corporate missed the boat when they did not realize Kim's talents. She would make a great Manager. All of us residents talk and we don't even like going to the club house, you can cut the tension with a knife. The ice cream social was anything but social, Jenni Wicker did not once come out of her cave to greet any of us residents.

CSI Staffing
If you can nnot deal with a snotty stuck up office staff, do not even visit here. We have a golden retriever that lives with us. We were at home and watched the notice slide through the door, no knock, no "hi", just a notice that we had to pay $25 because there was "evedance" that OUR dog was not being picked up after. 1)ow many other dogs live on this property. 2)evedance? did they do a poop comparison? 3) how come no one else is being fined for this? This is just one of the many problems we have had with "management" the Manager is on a high horse and thinks she is the presedent of the United States. No one in the office is helpful at all. Even the corprate office is just as bad and stated "We trust our managers". Maybe corprate should come look at how this place is being run.

Pros: Maintenance crew is helpful, grounds are clean and wellkept, units w/attached garages are great value. Cons: Office staff is not helpful, quick to find excuses not to solve your problems. Noise from upper level neighbor is a nuisance. Bad cellphone reception, no choice of internet & cable provider.

Not The Taj Guys
This complex thinks there units are made out of gold, rent is too high! They have had roof leaks and the property is less than a year old! Parking is ok, the grounds are ok, and the only good thing about there maintenance team is Pete. I'm rating the maintenance staff high because of him, hope they don't let him go! The office staff is pretty friendly I have to say that Beth is very friendly and helpful. I have lived here for almost a year they have had a couple of break-ins, in broad daylight mind you. Don't get used to any of the staff, because they won't be there for long. I have never seen a company go through this many changes in staff! You can hear your nieghbors threw the walls, and if you are on a bottom floor good luck with that. I will not be renewing my lease here, no break for loyalty the only thing they will do to make you stay, is clean your carpet. No Thanks! Someone in there corporate office needs to wake up and smell the coffee!!!
