Don't let the beautiful landscaping fool you. I completely agree with all of the poor ratings! Since the people above me wake up at 4am weekly and 5am on the week-end, I can't sleep EVER or even sleep in on a Saturday morning! I thought it was just a defective floor/ceiling problem in my building until I saw another persons rating. The ceiling creaks so loudly, I feel like I'm living in a haunted house! I also agree that everyone is nice but I have one more month here & I can't wait to leave. This is by far the worst living situation that I have ever been apart of. Please, if you want rest, relaxation and your sanity......don't move to The Point.

I thought the Pointe was on point. NEGATIVE! I was getting ready to move to the pointe this pass month thank god I did not sign the lease. They told me my apartment would be ready for me to move in the same week I paid my deposit LIE! They lost my security deposit, the apartment was not ready for me to move into, the apartment was not renovated which is what I was paying for, and their communication skills are HORRIBLE. If your fine with people losing your money The Pointe is the place for you.

Definitely Do Not MOVE HERE!
I never written a review for a apartment complex before but I am so frustrated with this place, I find this a way for me to vent and get my frustrations heard. BEFORE I MOVED IN, I READ THE REVIEWS AND DECIDED TO NOT PAST JUDGMENT ON THEN AND MOVE ANYWAY... BOOOOOOYYYY WAS I WRONG!! First let me start off in saying that the management lacks in resolving issues that you may have. They say they are going to do something and never freaking do it. The bad part about all of that is they are really nice. They arent rude at all. I have asked management to fix the eletrical outlets in our bathrooms in our apartment since I moved in last July 2011 . You would think that the bathroom outlets are very important. I gave up and had to buy extension cords and place them into a working outlet in the bedroom. Then, the freaking ceilings are horrible! You can hear the people walking over your head so loud, you canT freaking sleep at night OR ENJOY A RELAXING SATURDAY. The floors in the apartment upstairs cringe as they walk. THE MANGAER WAS SUPPOSED TO COME LOOK AT THE FLOORS. THEY SAID THEY DID BUT OBVIOUSLY, IT HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED! I have countless times complained about the noise levels in several different apartments in the people and no one seem to care in management. I mean what appens to the leases after people sign them. Does management just throw them away.. UGH!! Then my apartment is in a wooded area, there are crackling trees and a few trees that are leaning towards sthe building.. Any minute now a tree will come through my bedroom window. Told management about that. Did they cut or trim the damn trees OF COURSE NOT!. The people that live in this complex fly through all times a night Blasting the base in their music. OH dont let me forget, that the ventilation is so bad in the apartments that you can smell you neighbor take a dump or smoke their weed or even smoke their cigarettes. NO matter what I do for my guest bathroom, I can not get rid of the neighbors smell in my house... Ridiculous. I read the manager response that was dated back in january 2012 and its --------, they still as of almost JUNE 2012!! HAVE NOT FIXED THE GATE. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON WHY I MOVED HERE BECAUSE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A GATED COMMUNITY. Anyway, I really hope that I save someone the trouble with this review. I wish there is something else I can do about this apartment complex but for right now I DEFINITELY WILL NOT RENEW MY LEASE!

DO NOT MOVE HERE
I stayed in this complex for a total of 5 months. During that time, there was a robbery in my building, a shooting in my breezeway, and someone ran into my PARKED car in the parking lot and let. Not to mention the countless other burglaries and the hoodrats they let in there. If you value your safety, DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX!!!

Run away as fast as you can
I moved in November of 2010 and i left shortly after due to government obligation. Fro the short few months that i was a resident , Ive had bug problems from the wooded area in back of my apartment , maintenance failed to fix my outside entry light as as everyone knows it gets almost pitch black at night . so that posed a safety issue for me. Now that i have since left I'm in a battle with management about returning my deposit .In my personal opinion this particular management team are uneducated , thieves whom thought they had an opportunity to steal from me, which sadly isn't the case. I would recommend anyone to live here even if it was the last place on earth. From what Ive experienced with this complex I'd rather live under a bridge in a cardboard box.

PLEASE DONT LIVE HERE
I moved to the pointe 7 months ago I sign a one year lease cant wait until its up the worst place I have ever lived at. The gate has only been close once seen I have lived here and there are black ants in my bathroom and living room and in other tents apartments no one from the office would take care of the problem for me so I had to take care of it myself and the water bill is way too high I am almost never home to use my water the management say they are worker to fix the gates but I have talk to the tents out here and they say the gates has not been worker for over two years the fitness center has not been worker since I have been here and over A year. The managements has change twice since I have been here and they are all so rude and dont care at all about there tents. There are lots of car thief's and break ins it has been over five home break ins since I have been here and they do it when people are at work the gates are never close this is not a safe place to live at all and the management sucks. Bad place to live dont waste your time or money.

NO RESPECT FOR TENANTS IN AS FAR AS THE PRIVACY RIGHTS OF A TENANT WITHIN THE RULES AND REGULATIONS
January 17th of 2010 I have been living at this apartment since September 8th of 2009. Very soon after I moved in I have been having a problem with this tenant above me. I began complaining about this situation to the office more than several times and have not recieved any type of assistance or resolution from the office. I have even called the onsite security office and they refuse to come out to speak to the lady that lives above me. This tenant has been stomping so hard that I have not been unable to concentrate, sleep, or even study. My doctor had even wrote a letter stating that I need rest. She stomps like a 1073 pound mad cow. She has even, when she knows I am home, she would stalk me around the house. She also listens to all conversations that I would hold on the phone or if I had company. When she was called to the office with this matter, she would lie to the manager ands the regional manager and still nothing would be done. The stomping would get even harder. I did confront her one morning as she was leaving for work and all she did was patronize me as if she had done nothing. I had even called Dekalb County Police and I was told to contact the office of this situation. The officer did say he would go and talk to her but she did not answer the door. The office sent the Assistant Manager and the onsite security to my home. That was because I yelled up and told her's I do not bother her and if she doesn't stop stomping, I would stomp her like she stomps for disturbing my peace. Now mind you, I am 57 years old. There is no way I would hurt her or much less anyone else. Both the Assistant Manager and the Security Officer also knew and let me know that they know I would not hurt her. The manager at that time also knew that. The reason I reacted to her action was out of frustration. The more I complained, she stomped harder. Another time I was so frustrated, I began banging on my ceiling and she called Dekalb Police Departement and the officer came down and threatned to have me arrested. I tried to tell him my side and I could not speak at all. That was the second time I have been humilated, degraded, and was totally treated as if I was inhumane. The office was made aware of this and still they did nothing. Inside my lease it states under the Rules and Regulations. TENANT'S OBLIGATION TO MAINTAIN DWELLING UNIT: Noise/Disturbin Neighbors/Breach of Peace. Conduct himself, and require other persons on the prmises with his consent to conduct themselves, in a manner that does not unreasably disturb his neighbors or constitue a breach of the peace. I even tried to show the Officer the lease and he still did not comply to my wishes of letting me speak like a human being. I have spoke with Internal Affairs of the action of this officer. This was close to two weeks ago, and I have heard nothing from them either about the situation and how the officer handled this. I thought that officers were here to protect and serve. This also means mediate to resolve the problem. In fact, they should have been out catching murders, robbers, rapes and so on.not harrasing 57 year old ladies. When I found out that I did have a tenant below me, I made sure that the noise level of my walking did not bother him or his peace. The office did ask me to move to another apartment, but I refused because I was not the one breaching my lease contract. I have to tiptoe around my apartment in order for my peace, sanity and and my privacy. Mind you, I finally figured out what my tenant above me was being so vicious about. One Saturday within the past week or week and a half ago, I decided to lay in my bed and watch my television. This was so she would not know I was home. I lit up a cigarette to smoke and the tenant upstairs started pounding so hard. I should be able to do what I want as long as I don't disturb the other neighbors. I should be able to smoke my cigarettes all day and all night long until my lungs turn black and the doctor tells me I have lung cancer. In fact, when I moved here I was in the process of quiting and was smoking maybe 3 to 4 cigarettes a day. Because of my concern and all the disrespect I have recived from the lady upstairs, the office management, the Dekalb Police Department, I am close to smoking a pack and a half in a day and a half. I had even called the ambulance because at my age I am concerned of having a stroke or heart attack. My left side of my neck, the base of my head, back, shoulders and arm was in so much pain. The tension was so unbearable. The attendants had checked all my vitals and everything was fine. I was in so much pain, it was as if I was a parapalegic. I have even gone out my way to open my windows when I smoke as not to bother her with my smoking. All this was to no avail!! Also my gas bill is over $100 per month. I am seriously feeling as though I am black and the tenant above me is white, the police was white and the regional manager is white that this is an attack of racism. I am a military brat and have lived with many races in Japan, Germany, North Dakota, Idaho and Montana. I treat all people not because of the color of their skin but because of their race, gender and most of all a human being as one of "God's" people. In all essence, I am sorry that I reacted to a situation in which the action was not caused by me. I AM 57 YEARS OLD AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE REACTED, BUT YOU CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH. IF THE MANAGEMENT STAFF HAD RESPONDED MUCH BETTER, THE PROBLEM WOULD HAVE A MUCH BETTER RESPONCE FROM MYSELF. AT THIS TIME. I AM BEING EVICTED BECAUSE OF I HELD MY RENT OF $1500 BACK. THE MANAGER AND THE REGIONAL MANAGER HAS REFUSED NOT ONLY TO RESOLVE MY ISSUE, THEY HAVE ALSO NOT KEPT THEIR PROMISE OF THE COMPLEX BEING A NICE QUIET PLACE TO LIVE. I AM ALSO FEELING THEIR IS A BIT OF RACISM AND THEY ONLY APPROVE PEOPLE SO THEY CAN GET THEIR COMMISSION. THEY REALLY DO NOT SCREEN THEIR APPLICANTS AS THEY SHOULD. SO THEREFORE I AM RECOMMENDING THAT THIS COMPLEX NOT BE CONSIDERED IN APARTMENT PLACES TO LIVE THERE. I HAVE NO TRUST FOR MANAGEMENT ANYMORE. I HAD EVEN WROTE A LETTER TO MANAGEMENT WHEN I FIRST MOVED HERE GIVING THEM KUDOS, BUT SINCE THEN--GO FIGURE!!! THE MANAGEMENT HAS GONE TO THE PITS. THE NEW MANAGER IS A FOLLOWER TO KEEP THE JOB AND REALLY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING. I USED TO THINK THE ASSISTANT MANAGER HAD IT GOING ON--BUT OOOPS!! THAT IS WHAT I GET FOR THINKING!!!!! THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THE ENTRANCE GATE AND I HAVE HEARD THAT SOME OF THE MAINTENCE PROBLEMS ARE NOT RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. EVEN THOUGH I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THEM FIXING MY STUFF, I HEAR PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS FROM THE NEWER TENANTS. NOW THAT I STILL LIVE HERE, I SHOULD MENTION THAT BEFORE LONG THIS PLACE WILL BE CONSIDERED A PROJECT DWELLING IF THEY DON'T TAKE HEED TO COMPLAINTS FROM THEIR GOOD TENANTS. I DO NOT CARE IF THEY HAVE LIVED HERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. JUST BECAUSE YOU JUST MOVED IN SHOULD NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THEY ALSO DON'T CARE ABOUT THE NOISE FROM THE DOG'S YELPING, CRYING. CAN'T GET NO RESPECT!!!! NOT ONLY ALL THIS, BUT THEY NEED TO BE CAREFUL BECAUSE A LOT OF TENANTS FEEL THE SAME AS I DO AND ARE NOT AFRAID OF STANDING FOR THEIR RIGHTS SUCH AS I. IF YOU CHECK THE RATINGS, WHICH I SHOULD HAVE, I WOULD NEVER HAVE MOVED HERE. THE RATINGS HAVE MORE NO'S THEN YES'S. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!

I have lived at the Pointe for the last 2 years and this is my last year. I am enjoyed my last two years even though the complex had a few issues is seems that it will never solve, my main issue being the gate. It is never closed although it is a gated community. There is always new management so you can't really connect with anyone in the leasing office. You have to call the office at least ten times to have a maintenance request resolved. And the gym--don't get me started. The threadmill have been down the whole time I was there, so you can't really work out. Now the fitness center is supposingly under renovation, but I don't think we are ever gonna get the new equipments that they are supposingly waiting for. Overall, I do like the apartments and I do feel safe there. I am leaving mainly because the gym issue and the water bill is way too high. I wish they would just include it in the rent. Overall, I don't think this is a bad place to live. The complex is fairly quiet.

DONT MOVE HERE!!!!!!
When i first moved here i loved it!!! mind you that was about 4yrs ago so things were alot different then... Over the yrs this place has become a disaster!!! The new management is awful...(which they change at least every year) They appear to be nice because they are trying to get the sell but once you get in here it all changes.. It takes them months to fix things because they dont have any maintenance men.. im sorry they have 2 for all these units.. This is suppose to be a gated community and let me tell you that there is a gate but does it ever work? Hell no!! and i do pay to live in a gated community... but i have no clue what my money is going to.. The Gym is a joke none of the equipment works, the pool is always nasty or is always closed during the summer, Did i mention the management sucks!!! and are extremely rude!! Oh yea and the dumpster area is NASTY!! there is trash on top of trash on top of trash and rats GALORE!! Huge RATS!! New york city RATS!! Which probably could be resolved if the trash was ever put in the dumpster instead of outside of it and left for days!!! This place is a poor excuse for an apartment complex.. So if u have a family or single and work hard for your money and would like to see the benefits of you paying rent every month keep looking because this is not the place... PLEASE!!

Gates fixed no more trash problems
This place is getting better little by little. Remember, this was once a great place years ago. The area went down hill and so did this complex. but as the area has stabilized and gotten better so has this complex. The gates work again..the trash is in the dumpster...the dead beats are getting thrown out. Now its not what it once was but for highway access, park access and the best place to live in this area, The Pointe has some good aspects. Now you do get some loud music when a car goes by but you get that everywhere. Bills are reasonable for an old complex. Now the fitness center is not open and the machines have been broken alot. Once thats fixed maybe the money we pay to live there will allow us to use what we signed up for.

This place looks good.. on paper
The management is negligent and didn't fix things that I had on my move in paperwork that was wrong with the property in the 6 months we lived there. The "gated" community is not at all gated as the gate was broken more than it wasn't throughout the entire time we lived there. In addition, we were told to call the cops if people were in the pool after hours instead of them having some sort of security system to keep the people from other complexes from just walking in and using the amenities. The workout room was a joke with most of the equipment broken and not fit to give to Goodwill, much less have as an "amenity". This apartment looked good on the surface, but for the price and all the things they don't do (like call us back when we were asking to negotiate to get out of our lease early due to an incident involving evidence of the use of firearms at the property) you should keep on driving

Nice landscaping....but that's about it!
I moved into this complex about a year ago and at first I thought it was great. It was a rushed move, and now, I really wish we looked at more places. The staff is very friendly, but the neighborhood itself seems to be going down every month. The apartments are pretty quiet, except for the gunshots at night. I was literally awoken from my sleep just the other night to two gunshots right outside my building. It seems like this has been happening a lot in the past six months (I would say at least 3-4 times a month). Also, if you live under someone, you will hear EVERY foorstep and everytime they take a shower! The gate is ALWAYS broken--although it does get fixed quickly (sometimes),its broken again within a day or two. I don't understand why they do not get cameras?!?! As for the interior----very old! Nothing is updated including the 1983 dishwaher and stove. My dishwasher has NEVER worked fully, so I have to wash by hand. There are many smaller issues from when I first moved in that have never been resolved (cracked bathtub, chewed up door molding, the dishwasher). The lake is pretty nasty as well, and I wouldn't even feel safe going down there alone. I've never been to the pool, mainly because its always packed with unsupervised kids, but it does look nice from what I've seen. They have also raised the rent, even if you are going to continue your lease. You could easily spend the $900 a month on something a lot nicer and in a nicer area--you just have to do some research...I wish I did!

Not the best for the price- The service is HORRIBLE since the management change!
The rent was high for the level of service that they provide. I lived in these apartment for 2.5 years. I signed a 6 month lease after the management change and the service is horrible. I used to love these apartments, now they let anyone move in. For $900 rent, I would expect much better service with many issues.

Perhaps the best in Stone Mountain
Since I last posted this review, things have changed dramatically. The new management team is absolutely negligent when it comes to the broken gate. As another reviewer stated, I'm not certain why they didn't install cameras to catch the perps that keep breaking it. This area is going downhill fast, despite the fact we have at least two cops living in this community. It's still relatively quiet, with a gunshot or two heard three days in a month. The appliances are awful. The landscaping isn't all that good any longer and the rift-raft keep flowing in. I really wouldn't even consider Tucker/Stone Mountain as a viable place to live in any longer. Move in-town or on the Northside, but if you can't avoid this area, then I guess this is the best in area far enough away from the crime infested Memorial Drive.

Bitter Bitter Bitter
I'm responding to the comment made by a resident listed on 9/3/06. It is very obivious that you are bitter. Maybe it's due to the fact that you were late on your rent and May Mokdad (manager) was not lenient towards your inability to pay your rent on time. I've been a resident of the pointe for 2 years and needless to say, that I'm very satisfied with the property and management. Anytime there was a problem or concern, it was delt with prompt attention. And why does someone have to be friends with someone to give reconition where it's due. Sandra amongst the rest of the team are excellent. And I'm not friends with either of them. What you failed to mention is that the pointe is well upkept and quiet. If you think you could find a better apartment in Stone Mountain good luck. I will admit Daniel is not very personable. But i'm not either. Who cares!!! But do whatever makes you happy. Sometimes the grass is not always green on the otherside.
Under New Management...
I have to say that upon my residence here slowly approaching my exit, this new management team is AWFUL!!!!
I cannot help but notice that things break down and not fixed promptly at all. The manager is very uncaring and some of the other comments on here have said wonderful things about Sandra, they must be friends of hers. Teresa is not bad though, she is rather nice. The new guy in there is okay, he's just not very personable. Last but not least...Ms Mokday the manager needs a little more training on managing a property. She is very inexperienced. I'm so ready to go the 30th of Sept is not coming soon enough. I have to say that if Rita and the crew was still here, I would've renewed my lease without a doubt.

It is actually not management by Post anymore but rather by a company called AP.

I am a new resident and I have to say Sandra was a pleasure to work with and it was the easiest, headache free application process I've have ever been through. Beautiful grounds, nice apartments.

I will admit though I hear my neighbor walking around upstairs but only when my apt is completely quiet.

I'm looking forward to exploring all that the Pointe has to offer - so far everyone that has visited has had nothign but good things to say about my new apt!

WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE!!!!!
I must admit I had my doubts about moving into an apartment in the Stone Mountain area because the city is not what it use to be. I have visited almost every apartment in the area and none have come close to the Pointe. From the first time visiting the apartment through the time for me to move in was great. Once i completed the application, i rec'v a phone call about 1 hour later from Sandra stating that I had been approved. My apartment was in perfect move in condition and the maintenence staff is wonderful. It's quite and relaxing. I have read the other reviews and I really don't know what they are talking about. I have no doubt that you would love these apartments.

Only Live on the Top Floor!!
I live on the walk-in floor and I am tortured everyday! I can hear EVERY SINGLE STEP my upstairs neighbor takes. It is not that he stomps around, rather it is the cheap building materials that were used in construction. THE CEILING/FLOOR IS HOLLOW. I can hear talking through the vent in the bathroom. I even heard my neighbor urinating! I can hear the shower, the toilet flush, and walking. The walking is so loud that the whistle of the trains that pass sound like a lullaby. If you like peace and quiet, make sure you move to the top floor!

APPLICATION HORROR
I visited the leasing office and completed an application and paid the cost to process the application. My complaint is that neither the manager nor the leasing agent called me back to let me know the status of my application. I had to call them and to my surprise they said that I had been rejected. When I asked them why they never gave me a straight answer. I never filed for bankruptcy, have great rental history and only owe for my student loans. I kept calling back asking for a number that I could call to find out what's on my credit record and neither SANDRA or her manager called me. I am a very responsible person and I want to take care of this matter and they continue to ignore me. My friend told me that maybe it's a blessing not to move here because no one has the decency or professionalism to return calls. I refuse to deal with people who can't answer questions or have enough education or common sense to look in the right place to retrieve a person's application. Personally I think they typed the wrong information on the computer because SONYA looked in the wrong place when she asked me about my salary. I used to work at a private school and made half of what I make now which is 41,000 annually. Well, never mind I can afford to live somewhere else.
