I LOVED It
After being treated like poop in my previous complex, I was thinking that was just the way renters were treated...until I moved into The MAsters. Right away the office staff made me feel welcomed. Like they appreciated the fact that I was there. Everytime I had to contact the office I was greated professionally and excitedly. Maintenance issues were resolved within hours not days like I was use to. The grounds were always picked up and the property was somewhere I was proud to call home and refer others to. Being a single mom - I felt very safe there. The drug sellers and ------ neighbors were no more. Now I was living near clean and professional people who cared about themselves and their residence. I loved The Masters. Had I not moved out of state I would still be there. I can't say enought great things about the staff and property.

We like it
My fiance and i have lived there for almost 2 years, and it's been just fine. For the money on the North side, it's great. The other apartments we saw in that area we're a lot worse and didn't include a washer and dryer.
The maintenance and office staff have fixed everything we call about in amazingly quick pace.

It's not the greatest, but it's clean and we have great neighbors, and the grounds are really well kept. There are some bugs, but it's an older apt.
Most people who live there I've noticed are really friendly.

All in all, not a bad place to live for the money.
Not if my life depended on it...
I lived here for six months and that was enough for me. My major cause of concern is the peeper that likes to frequent this aparment complex. The staff knows he is there but has done nothing to warn the tenents. As a female, living alone, this is very scary. Not only was he caught looking in my bedroom window and that of a neighbor, he also broke into another females apartment.
My carpet had old pet stains on it, the washing machine is too small to do a good sized load and the lack of windows makes it very dark and dreary. Everytime I drive past that place, I feel sorry for everyone who had the same thoughts as me, "seems like a nice place to live."

Read this before considering.
I lived in The Masters for just under 3 months when my apartment was broken into. The people that burglarized our apartment were the same people that The Masters hires for their lawn service. I was not the first person to run into this issue. A neighbor of ours had EVERYTHING in his home taken out and put into a moving truck during the day by the lawn people and NO ONE even noticed. Not only is it not a safe place to live but they have a serious mold problem. During the time that I lived there I was extremely sick the entire time. After seeing my Dr. I realized that it was due to mold in the apartment. I mentioned this to the staff there and they pulled out a mold disclosure they made me sign before I moved in. I have never had to sign a mold disclosure before moving into an apartment. (I guess that should have been my first clue). They know they have a mold problem and aren't going to do a thing about it. This is not a safe place to live and I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.

The Good and The Bad
THE GOOD:
nice sized apartments w/screened porch and storage closet
great northside location, usually 15min or less to shopping, food, grocery, Broadripple
Pet friendly
decent maintenance staff

THE BAD AND THE UGLY:
-dog poop everywhere!
-BUGS: buidlings have roaches and firebrats. I've seen roaches on the outside of my building, in my building, and in my apartment. Bugs tend to come out in spring and fall.
-they charge $25 a month for a car port and all it is, is a parking space with a roof--no sides.
-geese: the large ponds attract tons of canadian geese so there is poop everywhere
-Rats: tend to swim in the large ponds.
-migrant workers. Every year from mid spring to late fall there several buildings that have apartments rented out to mexican migrant workers who work for a local landscaping company. There are ususally 5-10 men living in 2 bedroom apartments and the aparments are rented under american names. I haven't had any problems with the ones in my building, but the whole thing seems a bit sketchy to me.

Would I recommend the Masters? Maybe. I looked at a lot of north side apartments when I was moving to Indy. After looking at reviews and visiting dozens of apartment, I thought this was the best for me given what my requirements/preferences were. There are some bad/ugly things about this place, but overall it's been bearable.

Has gone downhill
Have lived at the Masters for over two years. The quality of the tenants has definitely deteriorated over the past couple of years. Many more problems with peeping Toms, many more kids now. Streets in need of repair. People working on their cars in the lot, which is not allowed.

Great Place to live!
I lived at the Masters for about a year and would definitly recommend it. The community is quiet and it is lovely for taking walks around the complex. The apartment itself is clean and well kept up. The screened in porch is nice. Mantinence is quick and efficient. Usually same day. Office staff is helpful and courteous. I was once locked out of my apartment on a Sunday night when the office is closed. I called the emergency line and someone came to let me in my apartment in 20 minutes at no charge. Pool area is nice. Office staff once brought everyone rootbeer floats at the pool. Area is safe and conviently located.

I recommend it
I have never had a problem with any of the staff. Appliances are old, but still work (sometimes not to the greatest extent). Nice screened in porch. Very, very quiet community of course you will have someone playing music every now and then, but you get that at most apartment complexes. Off of the main streets enough to not worry about traffic noise, but still in the heart of everything, and I mean everything. Very safe, I have never had any problems. I have lived here a year and would recommend it.

Not the best place to live and not the worst
I have lived in the Masters for over a year. When I first moved in the staff was very attentive and friendly. Everyone moved quickly and efficiently to get things done. Now that there has been management/staff change the service leaves something to be desired. You can let things go the first or second time your treated rudely and chalk it up to the associate is having a bad day, but when everytime you deal with that particular associate they treat you rudely there needs to be a change. I know that this has caused me to not renew my lease.

Great apartment
This apartment is great! I have lived here for 1 year.
I really love this apartment, it has screened patio, the service is good, and you can use email in the website if you need anything to fix. Also they have 1 day service.
The apartment is really well maintained, clean, and nice.
The price is good not too expensive for what you get.
IT is a very great apartment.

Screened In Porch (Huge Plus)
Great place to live everything is close by such as the Castleton Mall, Marsh, Keystone @ the crossing. Very quiet except in August when the train goes by every hour for the Indiana State Fair. Only downside.
