I went to Remington Place to get prices for my up and coming move and I left feeling valued. The customer service here is phenomenal - especially from Takira! She was pleasant, super helpful and efficient! I look forward to when I'm a tenant. I will tell friends and family if they ever need an apt unit to stop by and see her!

I have lived at Remington Place Apartments since 2012 and I enjoy it very much. The management office personal is easy to talk to and bottom line, gets things done. They are currently renovating the hallways which are in need of some updating. The grounds are always kept up and looking wonderful. After they renovated the lobby in my building, all my guest are impressed with the renovation and constant updating. I am not saying this property doesn't have its share of problems, it does like every other property in the area. However, its handle immediately and residents are informed by the management office.

Honest Review Remington Place isn't horrible, but the place definitely has more cons than pros. Pros: all utilities are included with the price; the noise level is relatively low unless you have inconsiderate neighbor(s); no vandalism, theft, and/or break-ins that I've witnessed (there was one incident of someone spray painting a security camera, but all residents in the 2600 building were notified in a timely fashion); laundry room on each floor with updated, decent sized washer (2) and dryers (2); fitness room and large pool (I haven't used either); lobby in building 2600 is well managed with fresh paint, pictures, and plants. Now the Cons: I moved to Remington Place in 2015 with ease. The management staff were seemingly professional and didn't have any problems answering any questions I had. It wasn't until a couple of months living here that I started to smell marijuana in my unit as a result of my 4/20 friendly neighbors. Not only could I smell marijuana throughout my unit, but the smell is all throughout the hallways and often in the elevators as well. Now I will say, on days that the cleaning crew clean the hallways, you'll be able to enjoy about 2 hours of clean, Fabuloso freshness, then it's back to smelling of weed; the carpets are horrid as well. I have complained to the rental office several times regarding the smell; thus far, the only action taken was a notice being placed on each of the residents' door on my floor saying that though management could smell marijuana immediately by the elevators, they couldn't pinpoint the smell, but WHOEVER individual could be terminated if they continued to disturb the peace. The hallways still smell of weed and the rental office staff, at least the woman I spoke to, seemed more accepting of the act than actually attempting to rectify the issue. In short, most people here keep to themselves, mostly working class individuals, but unfortunately there are some bad seeds that ruin the peace of the community. Nonetheless, if you are willing to bear the smell weed at any point of day and/or night, Remington Place is for you! P.S. No need for management to send that generic message about me being anonymous and wanting to schedule a meeting. I've complained several times to the rental office regarding the smell to no avail. It seems you all only take action and/or have a decent response if a resident posts anonymously to this site!

This place is not safe at all. This morning there was a silver mustang siting on two bricks with all four wheels missing. Since I have lived at Remington Place there has been a shoot out in the parking lot. My car has been broken into twice. The front door was broken for over a month.

Myself & my boyfriend just went on Thursday 01/22/15 to view these apartments and the staff was very polite and also extremely knowledgeable. The gentlemen gave me a tour answer all of my questions and I will be going back to put a down payment so I can move in! Very Excited! Brandy FYI: I also have a friend who lives there and never had a problem or heard anything!

This is the worse place I've ever lived the neighbors above me are ridiculously inconsiderate to that they have actual people living underneath them. The management will not do anything about it they said it needs to be verifiable. Well if it always happens when there closed an by the time the patrol comes there quiet doesn't really help. I asked to transfer mind you I have only been here almost 3 months they told me I needed repay the $40 app fee, $300 transfer fee, $200 holding fee, $300 move in fee, and 1st month's rent.. They are crooks and don't care about the well being of there tenants. I do not plan on staying here another year not sure if I'll last my lease.. If you don't mind noise an inconsiderate people then this place is for ya.

I moved here in early 2013 And overall I think it's a good place to live. The rent is reasonable and all utilities are included which I find very convenient. There are laundry rooms on every floor (only two washers and two dryers) but I have never had to wait to wash clothes as they were always available. I live in the second building where the rental office is located and there's usually parking up front near the entrance. Permit parking only and Visitor parking is in the rear of the building but I usually have my company park on the street So they can see their cars from my apartment. The entrance is controlled access but of course if visitors catch someone coming in or out they don't have to wait to be buzzed up. Decent fitness room; 3 treadmills an elliptical 2 stationary bikes and a weight machine. I haven't used the pool but it's pretty big. The walls are pretty thin, one of my neighbors intermittently thinks he's a darn DJ but it doesn't bother me much. The building is usually clean, I haven't noticed any hanging in the hallways or lobby, And there's security that patrols the lot In the evening. Maintenance is decent and responds quickly and staff is usually friendly and helpful. Did have an incident where maintenance left keys in the door with the door ajar and my apartment unattended but luckily nothing was taken. Not sure anything was done about that as far as reprimand or corrective actin but I haven't had any other issues. I'm on the upper floors and haven't had an issue with insects pests or rodents. Oh the elevators can be slow as all get out but stairs are Not optional for me In a high rise!

I've been living at Remington Place for a couple of months and I love everything about it. I found it after a friend mentioned the property, when I was looking for an apartment to move. Before renting I checked these reviews and I was very hesitant about moving in, because of the bad things mentioned by former residents (safety, noise, cleaning, bed bugs, etc.) However, after visiting again and talking to neighbors who actually live here now, I decided to rent a small apartment. This building is clean, safe, quiet, well kept, it has a good design including a clean and fast elevator, an updated gym and a big swimming pool. The neighbors are quiet, respectful, working / middle class people. The management staff are very kind and professional, and the building is kept clean daily. When I first moved I called the rental office for a couple of repairs and they solved the problems the same day. All the apartments have a dishwasher, renovated bathrooms, walk-in closets, and the views are just great. There are laundry rooms for every floor, the parking lot is huge and safe, and there is always security overnight. There are shopping areas nearby, the Beltway is a few blocks away with easy access. So if anyone ask me, I would definitely recommend this place. All my friends who have visited me so far have praised this property, and I plan to stay here for awhile.

                  ??? OH BOY ???

So far we have lived here 4 months now. We like our apartment. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom (full). We are on the penthouse (dont get excited just the name of the floor). So far: they have switched management companies and removed all of the old staff. We are now with Borger management which happens to be the management company for brinkley house apartments. (SN: we just moved from brinkley house because "someone" broke into our apartment 15 minutes after I left out the house. ) And there have been 2 fires in the middle of the night on the 10th floor. Can you imagine running down 11 flights of stairs at 3 in the morning. Anyway, so far it's okay. The only real complaint I have so far is the apartment complex that is behind the trees. You can see it unless you are on the 10th floor In the front of the building. You can here gun shots sometimes and the police, ambulance and fire trucks are ALWAYS going over there. No one hasn't broken into our cars, no bed bugs and no issues with either management company YET. I will update my review if we have any issues good or bad.

If you are thinking about moving here you should reconsider

With in the first 6 weeks both my roommates car and my were vandalized. My back was hit with a rock and someone broke into here stealing her registratation and other things. Both incidence involved mutilple cars. They have "security" and fake security cameras and they are quick to tow if you are in the fire lane or don't have a parking pass. But magical their was no one around and the cameras did not catch it when cars were being vandilized. The front door to the building has been broke for almost two months now so any one can just enter when they please. I barely use the laundry room as most of my clothes go to the cleaners. But everytime I do I have any issue with the machines. One time after the wash cycle was complete it was completly full of water my. Clothes were soaked by the time I transferred them to other wash machine the floor was soaked Yesterday not 1 but both elevators were down. So I had to walk down 10 flights of stairs. I was very upset and ended up straining a muscle in my leg. So after long day and 65 hour work week and a pulled muscle. I went to relax and take a nice hot bath only to find out that there is not hot water. I wait a tried again for almost to hour before I gave up and went to bed. I have only lived here for 5months and I has been a horrible experience thus far

                      Black Trash Bag

I'm not going to sit here and bash RP like it was the worst place to stay in the world. I actually enjoyed my high rise view of the pool! The tenants mainly kept to themselves and overall the building seemed very peaceful AND safe. All of this talk about hoodlums and thugs are coming from those who are soft and probably shouldn t be living in PG County period! Now, what I did have an issue with was the damn lighting while trying to enter the complex. If you invite people over at night YOU HAVE to tell them to be carful because they will pass your entrance and possibly crash. It also could use a bigger sign with that curve/loop being a very dangerous piece of roadway. I am actually surprised that there weren t that many accidents right there. Another problem that I had was with the property manager. She came off more as if she was my girlfriend than my property manager. I m not sure if this was an age thing, but she sure could use a few more courses in professionalism and how to handle situations on a business level and not personally. The reason I am stating this is because around October, I discovered that I had bedbug problems. I was instructed (by her) to pack ALL of my items in the apartment in to separate BLACK trash bags. My clothes I was supposed to wash and dry in hot water (which consumed money & time) and pull my couches, pictures, etc off the wall. I said okay! The exterminator came and sprayed, but never returned. Assuming that the problem had been eradicated I begin slowly but surely not living my life out of BLACK trash bags anymore! Unbeknownst to me at the time, but upon further research; bedbugs can live up to a year w/o eating THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM and to make matters worst; when they bite you there saliva has anesthesia in it so you don t know that you are being bit. Waking up at 8:00am and scratching a bite that happened at 4:00am is a horrible feeling! I would have rather had roaches!!! So after readjusting to the normal life and no longer living out of BLACK trash bags, I started getting bit again. This time, I actually had seen one however. It was about 1am and this particular bedbug must have been living off of me for a while because he was COLOSSAL! I call myself killing it, but he didn t die. Blood splat out, but his head continued to move. I put it in a piece of aluminum foil and then I immediately shook out a few of my clothing items (so I wouldn t transport them to my next destination) and got the hell out of there. The following day I call them rental office to express my thoughts on how the problem should be combated. You would have thought that I was arguing with my girlfriend the way she kept coming back at me and going against my idea. I was like hey, I am losing over $3,000.00 worth of stuff here; I am willing to THROW EVERYTHING THAT I OWN AWAY AND START OVER if you guys will move me to a new unit. She refused! Trying to tell me that I should go through the SAME process that I just went through and pack everything back up in to BLACK trash bags smh I thought that the entire apt unit #611 in the 2600 building should be quarantined off and exterminated for a year. She didn t see this as a feasible solution. After an extensive argument, she finally was like ok well you know what? we ll break your lease then and you ll have to be out by the first and you know what I said GREAT, that makes my merry F ing day this was around the mid January. I dint return to gather (AND STILL THROW AWAY) most of my items for another two weeks. But guess what was still alive when I opened that piece of aluminum foil THE DAMN BEDBUG!

                        Nightmare @ Remington BEWARE

I have lived in this community since 2009, I have had nothing but issues since moving in. The units are very old and out dated. The neighbors are loud and unruley. The rental office staff is not too pleasant. The hallways are creepy. The front door is suppose to be secure, but hardly ever is working, so any and everybody can come inside the building. The bugs are off the hook, they are absolutely everywhere. Maintenence is not professional and they don't properly fix things inside the apartment. The air condition in the summer doesn't work properly. The carpets are trifling inside the apartments. There are only 2 washing machines and two dryers on each floor (and people are always leaving the belongings inside the machines), there for you have to ALWAYS go to an outside laundromat. Cars are VERY frequently being stole and broken into, rims and tires are stolen frequently. I absolutle HATE living in this community and I can't wait to move. The rent is WAY too high, there is no security to monitor the parking lot, I never feel safe coming and going from my apartment. Last summer someone was robbed at gun point in front of one of the buildings. The list goes on and on, there are so many issues in this community it is a real life day to day nightmare, I don't like living there and I am moving as soon as my lease is up, I made the worst decision of my life by moving there. If you are thinking about moving here, make your mind up to move somewhere else, not unless you like nightmares!!!!!!

                          NOT SAFE!!!

The women in the leasing office seem more concerned with putting too much makeup on their faces than dealing with safety issues. As the previous reviewer stated, car theft and vandalism is very common here. There was security, but there hasn't been any since last summer. Not uncommon to see vehicles sitting on cinder blocks, with all four tires and rims stolen. I've been told surveillance cameras do not work, and I have been personally been a victim of car vandalism here on more than one occasion. Maintenance may come quickly, but they do not properly fix the issue. I got to the point where I stopped calling. Water gets turned off without prior notice. Elevator sometimes smell like liquor, urine, cigarettes. There is a no pet policy but I've seen dogs in the building. The leasing office is allowing more ------ people to stay here so it's really gone downhill. The previous staff Ms. Brice and Truman were better and friendlier. This staff now could really care less. I am so happy to be going from this apartment. It would be nice if Realty Management would get rid of the current staff, they can be rude. Plus, these ------ idiots are always pulling the fire alarm and it blares for a long time before the fire department finally comes to turn it off. Heck no, I wouldn't recommend this.

Remington place is not somewhere you want to live if you have nice things. I don't care how tight you tie it down it will come up missing. The management is too focused on things that do not matter rather than having security. They have one security officer that sit in one spot of the parking lot all night long. I have seen over six cars with all of the wheels missing off of them. I can promise you right now if you ride through the parking lot there will be at least one car with the wheels missing. I hope management is reading this also. They can send out notices for all types of dum stuff but can't fix the issues of safety. Don't move here!

Let me tell you, I wish I had listened to my instincts before I moved into this place. If you are a person that has any class about yourself, dont move here. Firstly for the amount of money they charge for rent, you shouldnt have to suffer with certain things. I can understand the normal problems like a broken appliance here and there or a slow drain in your tub, but the stuff that goes on here takes the cake. Before I moved here I lived in baltimore county. I payed half of what I pay here for more space never seen one roach in over 4 years of living there. Before I moved here I looked this place up on apartment ratings. After reading the reviews I backed out. I then spoke with the manager who is very nice and professional (one good thing). She sort of persuaded me that the place was decent. I have to say since day 1 I have regretted the decision. I am now just waiting out my time to move. I have seen like too many roaches, the hallway on my floor is like a damn bong a heavy aroma of weed. There are drug dealers right outside the building on the street by the school. Brinkley rd is like a deaf trap. The shopping areas are terrible. The main hallway is founkey. I cant even describe the smell. Like I said if you are a person of class not the place for you. I am just waiting my 10 months out so I can get the hell out of here.

You can imagine the culture shock of moving from rural PA to PG county. So far everyone I have run into has been extremely warm and friendly including the leasing staff. Takira and April are always happy to answer my questions and are always professional. parking: more than enough spaces and ample lighting; however, lot security is a shame... On two seperate occasions I have come home to find a car sitting on blocks. This could easily be rectified by gating this community as many before me have suggested. So my advice is get a good alarm system or locking lug nuts for those expensive rims. And park your car somewhere you can see it from your apartment. noise: no complaints about noise at rediculous times of the day but I do live in a quiet hall with no kids around that I'm aware of. Construction: walls are solid and you can't hear through them as if they were made out of paper. Cleanliness: The grounds are kept in good order and I have yet to see a bug of any kind except a small spider in a corner somewhere. This is my first renting experience and thus far it has been pleasant.

This place will continue to get bad reviews until it becomes a gated community

Lived here for a few years so I think I have a pretty good idea how things are. Here's the problem history...When I first moved here back in 2007, there was a constant problem with the water pipes or something because they constantly were turned off for repairs. My car was broken into twice in as many months during that year. The theives stole my car radio during the first break-in, while the second time, there was nothing taken out of my car. In the summer, the AC continued to be problem. There have been two murders that I know of that occured in this place. I highly doubt that these murders were random. However, the Rental Office needs to sit down with the tenants and discuss some of these issues to put the tenant's mind at ease. Instead they just send out flyers and put them on your door. Now over the years, they have made some futile attempts at increasing security by installing cameras around the buildings at the entrances and exits to monitor the grounds. Truth be told, I don't even know if these cameras are on. If they are, they aren't stopping these car theives from breaking into cars. Now, the theives are into stealing rims. I saw someone putting in a police report because his car was sitting on centerblocks. I saw an SUV last month in the same condition. So if you are trying to move here, get rid of those chrome rims. On the plus side...Parking is quite generous. Never had a problem finding parking. But that may be because everybodys car is either towed or stolen. It's very quiet here which can be a good and creepy thing because of the location. You are surrounded by woods and there isn't sufficient lighting. They have addressed the water problem because I haven't seen any more water issues as of the past year. Also, the recent change of management has been a step forward. Most of them are very professional. They keep this place relatively clean, although trash disposal is a little bit of a problem on the weekends. The recently renovated the hallways and elevators. The elevators look like they belong in a hotel. I really like them. Unfortunately, some of the tenants/visitors in the building are trashing them a little bit. While they still look very nice, they don't look like they did when they were new. Any issues I've had with my apartment were taken care of relatively quickly. I've seen a bug once or twice but nothing too major. Laundry rooms are adequate. It costs a little more to wash clothes there, but I guess you are paying for convenience. Again, you gotta take the good with the bad. The average lower middle class person shouldn't have too many problems here. But this place won't suit everyone. If security is a big thing to you, I would go somewhere else. If you have a really nice car, I wouldn't risk living here either. A lot of the major issues would be rectified by becoming a gated community.

WOW.....Remington Place is Going Down.....and Fast!

RP actually wasn't so bad when I moved here in 2009. But now, I wish I had moved out when I had the chance. I just so happened to be stuck in another lease with them this year and just might pay to break it! The lights at the front of the complex as broken for about 2 years, fixed, then broken again. The gym equipment rarely works so I paid for a membership to a local gym when I pay $1200.00 a month to have a "gym" included in my lease. The main door's entrance is supposed to be secure but has been broken for about a month now. So, anyone can come in and out. There has been no notices posted letting residents know when the entrance will be fixed or if it will be fixed at all! The air went out about 5 times over the summer for over a week. The heat went out 2 times this winter. The water was cold last night and has been juggling between hot and cold since technicians "worked on it" in December. My clothes have been ruined twice trying to do laundry at RP so I normally go to a laundry mat. The cycle has stopped in the middle of washing and my clothes have come out of the dryer completely SOAKED because the dryer wasn't operating properly. Let's not talk about "SECURITY!" Lately, nothing has been broken into, but "security" to Remington Place is having an off duty police officer who lives in the building, park his marked vehicle at the front of the entrance to make people think we have security. Needless to say, I've never seen this man or woman who is supposed to secure the property! Last but certainly not least, I come home everyday to find Ryan, the property manager's car parked in resident parking.....WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH THAT YOU ASK?!? Well, the problem with her doing this is that she has her own marked parking space that no one other than her is able to park in. Yet, she has her company park in it and she parks in the resident's spaces in the front. Your company can either park on the street or you can have them park in a visitor's space like everyone else's company and leave the resident spaces to the residents who pay rent to live here. Your company doesn't pay to live here and therefore, you shouldn't be so careless and inconsiderate to park in our spaces. You are not special and neither is your company! Lastly, sometimes when you walk into the leasing office, Takira who is the youngest of the three ladies acts as if you've just pissed on her foot. I actually heard her make a negative comment to one resident about another resident and she didn't even know that we were both standing right outside of the door that connects to the hallway. Be careful as you never know who is listening or watching! Shante is nice. Smiles when you walk in. No big complaints about her. She is down to earth and doesn't act as if you have just ruined her day by walking in the office just to pick up a package. I can't comment on Ryan because she is never there. I don't even know how she can be considered a property manager because I don't ever see her and when I do, she isn't working. She is usually walking outside to get in her car and leave, and it is never near 6:00 PM when she is doing this. They close early to have "company parties", they think they are a school when they close for 1 inch of snow being on the ground! HOW???? The PM and the Assistant PM live there! You can come down in your pajamas for all I care. But why close the office when you don't even have to walk outside to get to your office. Call me picky but I at least think they can act like they want their jobs when there are plenty of unemployed individuals who will smile and say "Hello, how are you today?" when a resident walks in!

                                      Remington Place Is Scary

I moved into Remington Place from NYC early 2009. Shauntee talked a good game and my fiancee and I feel in love with the apartment - itself. This has been my first apartment living experience and certainly will be my last. When visiting the compound, the elevators were in disarray, Shauntee advised that Remington Place was remodeling and the elevators were being upgraded - not. It took, them forever to be upgraded. In addition, the elevators are broken almost weekly. The fire department is at the compound weekly as someone is constantly activating the alarms. There was a murder in an apartment on the 7th flr. Now you would think that management would call a tenants meeting to explain - no, they posted a note stating an "isolated incident" occurred. Huh??? what does that mean? My friend coincidentally found out through the Police Department the details of the case - drug deal gone wrong... Forget about the management office. They're rude, correspondences between office and tenants sucks - notices are written by someone who has a third grade education. Living here has forced me to purchase a home and will be moving out on the day my lease expires. Its been horrible living at Remington Place.

                                        So Far, So Good

Overall: My apt. is quiet, since I'm at the end of the hallway. I don't hear my neighbors unless they're loudly coming/going from their apt., which isn't often at all. The apartments are solidly built, which I like, too. I've never heard anyone's footsteps (or anything else, for that matter) above me, and I'm sure I don't make that much noise to be noticed by anyone below me. Bugs: I keep my place clean and I've only seen two roaches since I've been here. The first time I saw one, I called the office for the exterminator who comes in every Monday; he came and sprayed on time. The next time I saw one (a couple of weeks later), I didn't bother calling, cuz I'm not all that crazy about folks coming in when I'm not home. I haven't seen any more, though, so it's all good. Safety: One of my neighbors mentioned her apt. being broken into once, and that was a tad scary. I think her proximity to the elevators made it seem less likely to be caught, since they could run in, take what they wanted, and run out pretty quickly w/out being seen. I don't think I'll renew my lease after this, though--hope to buy a home! Parking: Lots of parking! I park where I can see my car, and haven't had any problem. Maintenance: Whenever I called for anything (heater stopped working--they left me a room heater until the part they needed arrived) they took care of it w/in a reasonable time.

This is by far the worse place I ever lived. The issues keep mounting and mounting and the old manager was at best was unprofessional and did things to to hurt some tenants in the building when I discussed this with the new manager i was told she no longer work here and its wasn't their problem, it is their problem becuase she worked for the company that manages this place.let me run down a list. 1. water was off twice a week every week. 2. air or heat was off alot 3. retarred roof had to smell tar everyday when i came home for months. 4. walls was damage twice because of rain. whice i reported and they was fixed but didn't get rent credit like the other tenants becuase "she wanted to get me" 5.elevators always broke. 6. front door always broke. and when I tried to call the district manager, she would not return my calls and let me tell you how they replaced the windows and totally mess up my apartment. I feel if you need to make a fresh start you need to start it with the tenants who live here.there will be more to come on this.

It seems as though an appartment complex that can barely manage its self is very capable of throwing vile adult parties and posting explicit posters in areas where children can see them. I cant believe we are raising our childern in a place like this. The management should be ashamed. How can they post "Big Booty" posters everywhere, but not be able to notify us when they are cutting off our power, water, or spraying tar all over my car from the rooftops. Why couldnt they post a notice when they decided to stop accepting all credit and debit cards, and had the nerve to look at me like i was crazy when i came down to pay on the last day and you tried to make me late for not having an acceptable payment. Move here if you dont mind wasting money on money orders and cashiers checks... straight ------ style. I wont be surprised on the day when i come down to the rental office to find the manager with rollers in her hair doing her toenails on the desk. ps. the driers barely dry a load of laundry, my clothes always come out damp, and there is a terrible smell in my hallway, its been there over a year. My neighbors also smoke lots of weed. My kitchen faucet also exploded and broke my dishes.

                                              RENTER'S NIGHTMARE( Manager's Bad Attitude)

Talk about ready to move. I've lived here for 1 year and a half and my first interaction with the former property manger ------ blew my mind. A couple of weeks ago I went downstairs to find that my car was missing. ------, who noted that she was off that day, stated that if I was parked in the future resident parking that i had probably been towed. After going back and forth about where i was parked and telling her that i was resident, she decided to walk off and start spreading my business to the other resident without even helping me. After I approached her about being professional and the seriousness of confidentiality when being a manager she said the last thing i thought i would hear come out of her mouth. She called me a --&%$ and tried to fight me. Long story short, i got my car back and was refunded my money ($100) and never even got an apology from ------. I remained in constant contact with RMS, the management company, and let them know about the situation and her employment was terminated two weeks ago. Since then she has tried to get in little arguments with me every single time she sees me come out of my building and has also gone as far as blocking my car in the parking space while i'm sitting in my car. Its obvious she has never heard of the term "HARASSMENT". ------ is overall the most disrespectul, untactful, "------",and uneducated person i have ever come in contact with who once called herself a manager, hahaha. She didn't know the first thing about being a manager. She was never interactive with the residents and whenever I did see her she never spoke. However, i am anxious to see who the next property manager will be. On another note, if anyone has any comments or concerns with living here, RMS is very helpful with solving the problem and the staff there is very persistent and reposive to your needs.
