Not too bad for apartment living.....
I moved to RP after having been a homeowner for almost 20 years. I've had so many nightmares of what returning to apartment life would be like, that I almost decided to just return down south (NC or SC). I'm glad I stayed in the DMV and moved to RP...it IS better than most places. The pluses: spacious apartments, nice appliances, great views, inviting hallways, washers/dryers on each floor, all utilities included (TRUST me in these difficult economic times, that IS a blessing), and most of the time its pretty quiet. The staff is usually pleasant (afterall YOU try to be happy ALL THE TIME having to answer to 200-300 complaints each day...we ALL have our bad days, TRY not to take it personal). The negatives...Yes, the elevators are down alot, water is off a few times each month (thank GOD it's usually not on the weekend), parking lot lights seem to burn out as quickly as they replace the bulbs, security..well the tow trucks are DEFINATELY in place AND on point EVERY DAY AND NIGHT (trust me on that!), finding a parking place close to the entrance has been a challenge lately, communication from the management office could be improved, and there IS LOITERING from residents and non-residents from the HH complex and those lost from the Metro both of which can make anyone a little nervous. My apartment was very badly damaged during the spring 2008 rainstorm, and it took almost 4-months to replace the walls and to paint. While there are STILL some very minor things that STILL need to be completed, I believe management handled things the best they could, and they did provide those of us affected with some rent credits during that period. I was told the 4-month delay was more with the insurance company, who wouldn't release the money for repairs until foundation repairs were completed to the outside of the building to ensure it wouldn't happen again. Yes RP has its issues, but I don't think they are any more than issues one would have to deal with if they were homeowners. The difference...Homeowners probably would take more ownership with the loitering/safety issue and call 911 (afterall PG need to EARN their salaries for all they already don't do!). Overall, I think it is a nice place to live and as long as I can afford it, I plan to stay here a few more years before I do move back to NC or SC.

PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE
This place sucks bad! The ignorant people that work in the rental office do not care. Look out for the girl named Shauntae. My car was broken into on Christmas Eve and no one saw a thing even though they say there is security in the parking lot. I reported the issue to the rental office and the ----- Shauntae told me they don't watch specific cars! I totally understand that but I've been living here since October and I've have never seen any security! Do not move here you cannot have anything nice. THIVES ARE OUT AND THERE IS NO SECURITY! ITS A ------- DUMP! Please listen to me on this one.

It can use some more security
I like Remington Place for the most part...it's close to all the highways and it is kept clean. The hallways are quiet, clean and creepy all at the same time. Every since that incident that happened in Building 2600, I feel like I have to watch my corners coming in and going out even more! Crime is happening everywhere no matter where you live, as long as you can have a better sense of security then you know you are safe. I am a praying woman and I know God has been protecting me, regardless of where I live, Amen. However, I would like to see Remington Place to become a gated community, it sits on a hill and it would not hurt to build some access points at the entrance and in the buildings. I've seen Marlborough House Apts off of Branch Avenue and they have a nice community- it's gated and it's for the most part safe. If that location is right across the street from 51 Liquors and it's safe then what is Remington Place's problem? So, if your thinking about moving here, it's a great community with lower-midclass citizens who go to work everyday and pay there bills--just like anybody else does. It's a nice view and it can be upscale. With the money we pay here, why not have it be a gated community!

READY TO MOVE
I have been a resident here since earlier this year. I have not been happy since and i can't wait until my lease is up. No i'm not breaking it unless someone is willing to give me money to do so. Anyway, the outside looks deceiving, the inside is a mess. Someone keeps vandalizing all the doors, if the cameras were working, yeah police or management could rectify that problem. There is a safety issue, if that is true, we as residents should have been notified. Sometimes the lights in the parking lot are out. Where again is security? There has been no information given of a rape and robbery, that is ridiculous. I do not feel safe. There is a funky smell in the water lately, don't know what the issue is with that. I am in one of the renovated units, but it is indeed an old apartment. My apt is spacious and there is old thick paint in some areas. Overall, whenever i have a problem the staff in the office does try to fix the problem, notice i say try. I would not recommend anyone to move here. For single women and persons with children especially no...................Unless the safety issues improves and they get those bogus cameras fixed and working properly. so the property can be monitered as it should be.

Not really pleased
I just moved in to the 2602 building and while i love my apartment. The rental office kind of sucks...first of all i paid my rent before the first and i was like okay that should get taken out on the next week of business days since i paid it on the friday before the first. They didn't take it out until the 10th of this month that blew me also I had a list of things for them to repair small things but i wanted them to be fixed...the girl in the office told me they would be there Monday to fix it since nobody aparantly works in maintenance on the weekend??? Yeah i don't understand that. It took me writing a damn letter to finally get someone to come out and fix a little bit of the things wrong in my apartment. Then i found out the reason my rent was never taken out until just recently is because they forgot to fax my credit card payment over WTF??? Don't get me wrong they seem nice with good intentions but they REALLY need to work on customer service in their office....I get the impression sometimes they aren't really paying attention when i tell them about things that need repair in my apartment. And then on top of all this they overcharged my checking account for rent and i'm still waiting for the money to get put back in my account.....I can truly say i won't be renewing my lease at this place it's nice but the staff sucks!

Dangerous
I just wanted to let the residents as well as the future resident to know Remington Place is not a safe place to live. I lived there for 1 month before I was robbed and raped. I lived next to a dark stairwell that I personally put in a maint. request for the light to get fixed, when two men came out with guns and forced me to open my door and commence to committing the crimes. Being a single mother it was the most horrific thing that your child could witness. Please be careful of your surrounding.

I'm a fairly new resident and I would not Recommend
I am a fairly new resident and i agree, someone from management is definately watching and putting bogus stories in favor of this apt complex. Since i have been living here I have called the office too many times to remember to complain, the apts had some water damage to a number of apts. in May, poor lighting has been a problem of late, where is security>?, no hot water consistently, power outages, loitering of both building, non-consistent thorough cleaning of buildings, etc.. But we as residents must take some fault with that also. Know where your kids are, the weed smokers are the same kids/young adults who live on the property and i see them everytime i come home - doing the same thing. The managing office knows and they still do it anyway. Security is supposed to be on duty at certain times every evening, but where are they? And are the cameras really working on and around the property, because if they were, the office management would see who is loitering, who is leaving the door ajar for others to come in, who the weed smokers are, who is vandalizing the building, etc...Get it together, changes are being made slowly to the cosmetics of the building, but dig a little deeper people and address the issues.

I plan to stay here for a long time!!
What more can i say!... Remington Place apartments is a wonderful place.Everyone that lives here has been cool.Nobody bothers you and parking is GREAT!! your guranteed a parking space everyday. The landscape is beautiful!!.And all utilities with brand new appliances!! Now every place has theyre flaw. The first is the water gets shut off about once every two weeks but they are putting brand new pipes in the whole building!.The one thing that is very annoying is the fire alarm that goes off at least once every 3 weeks!!.the entrance into the complex could be made a little larger because its accident prone!! Management is ok... i wouldnt say they are the best but Truman and Chante are the best people to go to!!.That other lady can b a real ----- but shes tryna run a great establishment!.Overall i recommend this place to anyone who loves and great neighborhood and great people..I have been here 3 months and i will be here for a long time! O and the little security guard they have is a lil Pervert!!! i dont like how they hey unprofessional security!.but other than that! its great

Man it's a nice place
I moved in here just few months ago and it s been fair and what ever happen in the past is fading as far as I can see. Let me say I had no problems with the water outage; of course I work during the day. There was little water from a big storm that came thru but it was bad every were in the area. But my apartment is nice and cozy. They just put new carpet in hallways on each floor and the pool is clean and nice. They got new gym and most of all security cameras in building and parking lot. It s so quiet!! I come in I always see security guards walking and riding around the lot making every thing safe. This is a good place for a single adult person. I would not recommend people with small kids? This is not a good place for small children. Management is good and there working on all if any problems as far as I can see...

DON'T MOVE IN HERE
Ok so at first i thought this place was great, the new owners have stepped up on the landscaping and it looks good on the outside. unfortunatly the inside is a different story. The first floor floods at least once a month and soaks the arean in front of the mailboxes, some is carpet and some is tile. They will leave it there for days, i almost slipped on the tile once when it was flooded and then the carpet is squishy with water for days after b/c they dont clean it properly. I suffered water damage 2.5 months ago along my kitchen/living room and den walls. They have yet to fix it b/c they keep tiptoeing around the issue and saying it will be fixed next week, but it NEVER happens! 2.5 months, going on three, is a long time to live in a water damaged apt, especially when it smells like mold. They never have anything on time, the gym was supposed to open 2 months ago as well, and it has yet to open. I am in the process of breaking my lease to get the heck out of this place!!! even if it means paying more in rent.

WHAT!!! No water and no AC..Lies Lies and More lies
Okay so the water does get cut off a lot but that is so they can get to the route of the problem. Plus it's only cut off during the day when most folks SHOULD be at work and not at home to complain about it. Plus IF U PAY ATTENTION, they always put a notice on your door letting you know the water will be off and when and they also put the same notice up letting all residents know that the ACwould be on after MEMORIAL DAY, GOVERNMENT REGULATED, HELLO. (some people are just idiots)I know since I've been here I have seen nothing but improvements and the proerty is beautiful and cozy. The staff is excellent and they are always doing what ever they can to address any issue I may have. Plus the price is right and there is nothing but plenty of parking ALWAYS!!! Can't say that about neighboring properties like Brinkley House for instance. Plus they added security cameras and an overnight guard. Who could ask for more? Overall this is a great place to live and I do stay in 2602 and I love it.

If you like Water and AC Don't move here
The water is constantly being shut off building 2602 at least every two to three weeks. I would think the problem should have been fixed by now. It is now 5-27-08 my AC is not on or working. I believe most the old AC units in the building have to be replaced. This comes from a tech. I guess they just discovered this right before summer and not at the end of last summer when you would have all winter making sure the next tenants to move in has working AC. Looks nice from the outside but property manager has issues. I guess they need a not so nice person to focus on collecting payment, instead of person to provide excellent customer service to its tenants. Assistant property manager is great. Don't be fooled by all the signs out front as you drive down towards the apartments. 1. fitness center(not open) 2.Sparkling pool( not open). Dont get me wrong these apartments have concrete floors so you don't hear your neighbor that often. That's a plus. If you like drama then move here. I read these reviews also and i still moved here only because it was close to work but i gave them the benefit of doubt. My Mistake

Don't Do It, Reconsider
I have live at Remington Place Apartments for a little over a year now. I only renewed my lease because I am saving up to buy a house next year. I don't want to rent forever but while I'm renting, I would like it to be a pleasant experience. Living at Remington Place doesn't always make it easy. I can say that the good outweighs the bad but some of these issues should be taken care of immediately. The water seems to be turned off at least every other week. I used to work at night and can you imagine getting ready to take a shower before going to work and there is no water. It can mess with your head. I had a shower floor that was cracked and told the maintenance crew about it. All I kept hearing was, "Every time we try to come in your apartment, there is something in the way." What the hell is in the way, the bathroom is right there when you walk in. So I went to management and then they came in and fixed it but I couldn't use my shower for like two days. It took them six months to come and do that. Everytime I go and pay my rent it's somebody new working in the office. Now you know its gotta be bad if the the employees don't want to work there, just think about the tenants. The new management is okay. I have read past reviews about Ms. Brice and she is okay but she could use an attitude adjustment. They are doing a lot of renovation and all that is nice but they need to focus more on the tenants needs and be more prompt with that. Spending all that money for the outside look when they need to worry about the way it looks on the inside. I would not recommend anyone to move here until they make some changes for the better. Some of the things going on can be avoided if they would pay more attention to detail and listen to the tenants and respond promptly. It's like dealing with dirty politicians trying to get your vote and then screwing you in the end.

Good To me
So i recently moved to RP, I was skeptical at first because of the reviews but i compared to other reviews this was the best, With all honesty i love the apartment i live in Building 2602, and its peaceful. ocassionally you may hear a baby crying or kids laughing and thats only if your in the hallway, The apartments are nice we needed a couple of things done but they were done in a decent amount of time, the managment is great, there nice but with anything there real, Especially Ms. Brice she will not sugar coat anything or try to sell you a bridge in broklyn, shes keeps it real with anything you ask her and she will take you to see all the apartments that are vacant not just the one thats decked out with furniture and stuff, she's not rude at all but a very pleasent person i mean its simple pay your rent on time follow the simple rules and you wont have anything to complain about. Now about the apartment itself there are no bugs the carpet is fresh and clean kitchen appliances were all new the windows were new, the bathroom is not nasty the only thing that i dont like is the tile in the bathroom but its not really that bad other then that the bathroom is really nice with mirror cabinets and the tub is nice to. the Bedrooms are a nice size with big walk in closet. the living room is huge and the way the dining room and living is set up together gives you even more space. OVER ALL i would give the apartment a low 8 high 9. Everyone i have came in contact with were friendly and polite and the kids have manners and that says alot, this is actually a oaky place to live. Everythings up to par the only thing that i would comlain about is if your in the shower after a while the water temperture seems to go down a little and back up, nothing shocking and i guess this is normal but it just anyoing to me.

THIS IS YOUR WARNING, PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!!
This apartment is absolutely ridiculous. They are always changing management companies, and the current property manager is a mess. She is unprofessional, always has an attitude even when you are only asking a question, and did I mention a mess. The assistant property manager is very professional, and he does work hard to keep things going, unlike everyone else. Can we say roaches, roaches, and more roaches, extrememly disgusting. The elevators are always breaking down and the building has 10 floors. The water always has to be turned off everyday for one repair or another, maintenance sucks, and priorities around that place are just backwards. They are all too concerned with making the outside look good, but the inside is whatever. Also please do not be fooled by the pictures on the web, the apartment does not really look like that. I regret everyday that I moved here and cannot wait to move out. So HELL NO I do not recommend it.

KEEP LOOKING
This place has had more than five management companies within the two years that I lived here. Between the hours of 9am and 2pm, I have not had ANY running water in my apartment for over 12 months!!! I was even caught with shampoo in my hair and clothes in the washing machine. I have seen numerous cars vandalized. The staff in the rental office have signed for packages and not notified the resident. And then there's maintainence. They are nice guys but are not efficient. I have had the same leak after four different guys came out to fix it. I stopped complaining because the tenant is not responsible for paying any utilities. I am too embarassed to have guests. Put your money together with a friend and get a roommate somewhere else.

DO NOT COME HERE
This has been an absolutely horrible experience since the first day of moving in. We are frequently subjected to hours without AC, water, and power. Imagine waking one hour before needed to leave for work to discover that you have no water. This happens at least once every 14-21 days. The carpet in the lobby of the building is absolutely disgusting and the are smells of garbage. There are tons of roaches. The (false) fire alarm is pulled regularly late at night. They fired/transferred the team initially brought in to being in a seemingly more qualified, yet still disrespectful manager. There have been instances where I am standing in the office and she'll speak negatively about the tenants as a whole as if I am not one of them. The only real difference I see is they spell words correctly on the BS notices that they put around the building. I think I am supposed to appreciate the fact that they installed new windows, should I also appreciate the holes in my walls, same day notifacation of the installation, and the black stains on my carpet? I also think I'm supposed to appreciate the fact that they repaved the parking lot...I can't get water or power consistently, but at least I'll have a smooth ride to my parking space! We were attacked by a group of wanna-be thugs approximately one month after a woman was raped and a man robbed on the property. We called the Rent-a-Cops they've hired to "patrol" the area and was told that they only secure the area Wednesday thtough Saturday and to call the rental office. Knowing it would be pointless, we did that and recieved no response.

If you know anything about hell you don't want to move here, cause that's what you're getting
This place is the worst. From the manager (Ms Brice) on down. They are liars, rude, and nasty as hell. I've lived here for two years and enough is enough. When I first moved here everything was in order, but now it's ridiculous. My air wasn't cut on until Damn near July. then once it was on it kept cutting off. They are putting in new windows and exposing us to asbestos and lord knows what else. I am moving out in August and I can't wait. I haven't been in my apartment the whole month of July, out of the month of July I've only been in my place for one week. Due to the asbestos. I have a 3 month old child and I am not exposing her to that. Then on this pass Monday maintenance came to fix a problem that was called in a month ago about my tub. They had to redo my tub cause the paint was pealing, but what we didn't know was when they was coming and what was going to be done. they sprayed films all in the bathroom, and again we couldn't stay there due to the films in the apartment. i told them i want some money back for paying my July rent and i couldn't even stay there she told us no. I explained to here about my three month old and she said that's not her problem. Put it this way the Lord was watching over her when she said that. So no don't rent here. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy, no one should have to go through this.

You Gotta Be Kidding Me Right ???
Some people need to find something better to do! I have lived here at 2600 Remington for two years and and i can finally say that they have really stepped it up! I mean the land scape is beautiful, when i look out of my window it's so relaxing, the hallways and lobbys are clean, laundry room is always kept clean, you dont see people hanging in the hall ways or stairway, I really enjoy bringing company home to my apartment because its so nice now. they even have camera's WOW! your community and place is WHAT YOU MAKE IT! if you take care of it then you dont have to worry, but if you dont and allow others to litter and trash your place then thats your problem. I think that Ms. Brice is doing a WONDERFUL job! she's always smiling and willing to assist with any thing, any time i request service, its gaurenteed! I love the Remington and plan on staying as long as I can. Two thumbs up for Remington Place and the Crew! if you are not happy, just move and let someone else enjoy what I am.

Remington Place... overpriced incompetence.
Do yourself a huge favor and take my advice on this one. This place is a major dump. They will tell you that all sorts of neat perks are included such as a full gym, air conditioning, two elevators, and a big pool. Sounds good, doesn t it? There is no gym. The equipment is absolutely unusable. There are two functioning treadmills. It is now the last day of May and after being told over and over that my air conditioning will be up and running, there is a different excuse every day about why it isn t. The two elevators are rarely working at the same time and it takes forever just to leave your apartment if you are on the upper floors as only one elevator is usually working at a time. After having to listen to weeks on end of construction on the pool, again, many days after it was supposed to be open, it is not. I have a balcony that overlooks the pool and day after day, I look to see if anyone is working on it and of course no one is. However, according to the office, they have someone hard at work on it. I guess they hired the Invisible Man. He sure is a lazy worker. I would move out of here immediately but the lease is incredibly restrictive. I have no problem with the lease being restrictive because I read it and signed it. However, the quality of living here has been so poor and the customer service so blatantly unconcerned (and obviously ready to tell you anything just to get you to go away) that it is a slap in the face to be held up to my end, yet they are not held up to theirs. At $985.00 a month for a one bedroom, I don t care what the excuse is. If the guy who was supposed to fix it died, then get someone else or do it yourself! At this price there is no room for incompetence and excuses based on ignorance!

DONT MOVE HERE!!!
REMMINGTON PLACE IS A UNSAFE AND A TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. MY MOM AND I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE AUGUST 2006, AND I THINK WE HAVE SEEN AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT TEAMS OF STAFF HERE. I HAVE BEEN ROBBED BRINGING IN GROCERIES AND IT WAS ONLY LIKE 8:30. THERE IS NO TYPE OF SECURITY HERE. THE LOCKS ON THE DOORS ARE ALWAYS GETTING BROKEN. WHEN MY MOM AND I FIRST MOVED HERE ABOUT A WEEK INTO THE STAY AT LEAST 4 PEOPLES APARTMENTS HAD BEEN ROBBED. RECENTLY SINCE THE STAFF CHANGE THE GARBAGE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN OUT AND ON MY FLOOR IT SMELLED REALLY BAD. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE I HAVENT SEEN ANY ROACHES YET!!! THANK GOODNESS.WITHIN THE PAST 3 WEEKS I HAVE WITNESSED A CAR BEING BROKEN INTO. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT MOVING HERE....DONT!!!!!

Do not move here unless you absolutely have to
I basically moved here after the old management company left. They seem to switch companies every year. So far, this new company is incompetent. I was told my apartment was completely ready to move into. Instead I found that my kitchen sink has a clog and my garbage disposal doesn't work. However the stove, dishwasher, carpet, and fridge were all brand new. After one month of living here, my car was broken into. That seems to happen a lot around here. This complex was just featured on Channel 4 news for an armed robbery, rape, and car theft all in one night. Crime is horrible here. On the positive side, the noise isn't bad and I have never had a problem finding a parking spot. There are some good things about this place, but the good don't outweight the bad. I don't recommend anyone move here unless they have no other choice.

Disgusting
I have been living there since June 2003. Since I have lived there, my tags have been stolen off my car 3 times and then my whole car stolen. On a whole seperate incident, my window was broken out. The rent goes up $100 each year. The trash just fills up the compactor room until it is spilling out into the hallway and the rental office is never open the full duration of hours it has posted. My thermostat is broken and has never been replaced after 3 times of maintenance coming to fix it and realize that I need a new one and it still has not been replaced. ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, they have switched management companies 3 times since I have been a resident and nobody knows anything anymore. Somebody was just raped and robbed in the A building and nobody notified us of anything to be aware of our safety because a rapist on the loose who is watching our facility. I am moving out ASAP and I am disgusted with this Looks good on the outside but full of crap on the inside "community".....
