I had a positive first impression of the community. The community was easy to locate...there were several colorful flags by the main entrance. The leasing office was also well marked. The lawn was debris free. The parking lot was in good condition and there was plenty of available parking. The entryway was spotless. The sidewalks were shoveled and salted. The pool area was closed, but tidy. The balconies were clutter free. The common laundry area was clean. There were no inoperable vehicles. The community was well maintained." The three models were freshly painted and odor free... the lighting was bright. The apartments were very clean. The furnishings were attractive and gave the rooms an elegant feel to them. The flooring was debris free and the counter tops were spotless. I was impressed with how spacious and bright the apartments were."

Updatr. Trilogy is absolutely horrible. They changed the doors on the apartment buildings but failed to distribute new keys to residents. Sometimes the doors would be unlocked. Other times they would be locked. I went to the office to let the staff know that the doors were locked and that my key didn't work. One of staff members tells me sometimes the keys stick. What does that even mean? I get back home and as expected the door to my apartment building is locked. I called maintenance twice and they never came to open the door. I was informed twice that maintenance does not handle lockouts. There is a distinct difference between being locked out of the entire building and locked out of your apartment. My bathroom also flooded with toilet water and the carpet in the hallway made the place stink. The ceilings are always bulging and falling apart around here. Do not move to this ridiculous place. I'm still counting the months until I can escape this horror.

I thought it was a great price for the apartment at first. The single washing machine and single dryer in each building was a bit annoying and I often found it difficult to get laundry done around my school and work schedule, but it was a small price to pay for such a deal. The apartments were spacious and neighbors not bad. The issue I had (a major one), was the mold in the walls and mushrooms growing out of the carpet during the summer. I actually ended up getting extremely ill as a result of mold poisoning. When I brought the issue up with Mary at the office, she sent maintenance over. They plucked the mushrooms out of the carpet and painted over the spots where mold was growing through the walls. Sorry, but that's not good enough for me, especially since the mold started showing on other walls throughout the apartment. I tried contacting the office several more times, but never got a response, until I decided my health was more valuable than a $635 apartment and moved out. After realizing I would no longer be paying rent and had abandoned the apartment, Mary decided to return my calls, but still did not care that I had been hospitalized as a result of their poor maintenance and has been increasingly sick for 3-4 weeks.

Overall Bellridge Apartments are not that bad. I live on the first floor and will say that I had problems with bugs and flooding when I first moved in. I called maintenance several times to come and spray my apartment and they never did. I ended up buying bug spray and spraying my apartment myself. Maintenance came out right away and fixed the problem with the water that was coming into my apartment and things have been good ever since. Office staff is very nice and very helpful if you ever need anything. My apartment is very drafty being on the lower level and my DTE bill since the winter has hit is very high. If you don't mind paying for laundry and dealing with minor issues, Bellridge Apartments are good for the price.

For starters, these apartments are extremely loud. You can hear the nearby highway at all hours and from any room. You can also hear the planes from the two nearby airports, Willow Run and Detroit, which also run at all hours. The trains I don't mind, but I know some do. We don't hear the neighbors next to use, but the neighbor across the hall (before he was evicted) was very loud. He had an alarm that went off every day and could be heard from the back of my apartment. Often he wasn't home when it went off, so it was not turned off and continued to sound for hours. We often hear the tenants below us (we're on the top floor), especially when they are in the bathroom. The shower is especially noisy, but so is the toilet flushing. Personally, I don't enjoy listening to my neighbors use the bathroom. Also, they smoke a ton of weed, which stinks up our apartment, too. Sometimes some younger people sit in their cars and smoke in the parking lot with the music blaring, but it's been happening less often lately. When we first moved in, we quickly discovered that the kitchen was infested with bugs. They got into every box and bag of food, which we then had to throw away. We bought insecticides ourselves and tried to deal with the problem. It got better, but it never went away, and I constantly check my cereal for bugs, especially not that the weather is warm again. Also when we moved in, the fridge had cracks inside and chunks of the inner walls often fall off, exposing the insulation. The office has been notified at least 4 times and has done nothing. The fridge continues to fall apart. The electric stove was also broken. Maintenance came to fix it after the second notification. It still managed to catch on fire after being fixed. I didn't know electric stoves could catch on fire. There is a fire extinguisher provided, it's just located in another room in the closet. There is no smoke detector in the kitchen. During the winter, when the snow began to melt, water poured into our bathroom through the ceiling fan, flooding the room twice. Given that it happened a second time, I assume nothing was done about it after I reported the first incident. Also, the gas went out to the entire complex for a few days and the township declared a state of emergency, setting up heating stations, though no pets were allowed, only people. No explanation was offered. One of the entrances to the building has its lock filled with crazy glue. You can exit by that door, but you can't re-enter. Very professional. One of the garbage dumpsters caught on fire on the 4th of July and was allowed to burn itself out. Luckily, the fire did not travel to the surrounding cars and buildings. Now the burned out husk of a dumpster still sits attractively in the parking lot and we all still use it. The dryer in the laundry room does not dry clothes. We have to go to the laundromat. The only thing to location is convenient to is I-94, which you will hear even in your dreams. There is no public transportation and the only things located within easy walking distance are overpriced gas stations. Their idea of a maintenance report if a sticky not on a cupboard. When the office tells you that a maintenance person will be out soon, take it with a grain of salt. Of the dozen or more times I have sincerely been told someone would be out, only thrice have they actually appeared. 1) To fix the stove that ended up catching on fire anyway. 2) To fix the deadbolt that had failed and was locking us out of our apartment. (This is beginning to happen again.) 3) To get the balcony door unstuck, which is a safety hazard and legally had to be addressed. (They used a crowbar and busted the frame.) This is the cheapest place around and they don't charge extra for cats (dogs are no longer allowed). I have never felt particularly unsafe here, even though the building door (the one not filled with super glue) is routinely busted or being propped open at all hours of the night, and I have seen people sneaking around in the shadows when I get home late. If you think the hassle is worth the low rent (and I know sometimes it is), this isn't the worst place you could choose to live. A tent in the woods is probably less convenient, though I haven't tried it. We also have many feral cats. They like to sleep under our cars and wander around the building. If you don't like cats or are allergic to them, maybe you should look elsewhere.

I am a current resident at Lighthouse Pointe Apartments and I have lived here for three years. I have lived in several apartments before coming here and have looked at other apartments in the nearby cities. I first came across this complex in the summer when I was accepted in at EMU. I needed a place to live that was near my school as well as my job in Novi. Every apartment complex I looked at for the price range I could afford were small, dirty, bad neighborhood, and did not include a washer and dryer. Lighthouse Pointe is a large apartment (800-900 sq ft for a 1 bedroom) with two walk in closets for storage, large balcony, and included all necessary kitchen appliances (microwave, stove, dishwasher, oven, and fridge.) I was disappointed that the room did not include an in unit washer/dryer, however, each building had a coin operated machine on the first floor and I haven't had too many problems getting access to the machines when I needed it. The bedroom is huge and can definitely can hold a king size bed. I currently have a queen sized bed with two dressers, a TV stand with TV, and a night stand and I still have room to spare. The living room is long which allowed me to split the space into living space and den. The dining room is also large enough to add a descent size table. The bathroom is also a descent size too. My only complaints would have to be the small kitchen, the structure of the room when I first moved in, and the outdated broken thermostat. The kitchen has very little counter space and can only fit one person really. They put the fridge across from the dishwasher so you can't open both at the same time. When I first moved in, the place actually looked poorly done. The paint job was messy and was all over the dark wood trim. My door had huge holes in it from the previous occupant who drilled in another type of lock in the door. Also I had a closet that didn't close very well and had a crack in it. I informed the front desk these issues as well as only having one fire alarm in my room. They filled in the holes and painted/stained it but its still noticeable. Lastly, the thermostat in my apartment is horrible. I'm very cheap when it comes to being comfortable. I will set my thermostat very low in the winter season and very high the summer season. However, in the summer my air conditioning still turns on even though I have it set higher than what the room temperature says it is. In the summer, I have had to pay over $150 dollars because the stupid air conditioning still turns on. My typical bill for this place is around 40 dollars. I have complained several times to maintenance but they told me this is how it works. I know how a thermostat works and it definitely shouldn't turn on when I set it to 80 degrees and my apartment is only 75 degrees! All in all, if you want a spacious apartment for a cheap price and nearby to everything (freeway, cities, grocery stores, etc.) this is the place. I haven't left only because I haven't found better in the area, but I keep looking.

I Love it here at Belleridge! From where I came from, there is a tremendous positive difference. Maitance is always right on their job. Very quiet neighborhood with the ability to feel safe all around. Management is to die for!! I've never met a property manager who actually value each tennants time and did everything in their power to satisfy each resident. I'll definitely be here a while!

I have lived at Archwood for over a year. I have to say I have not had any issues. My neighbors are nice, which is important when you are living in an apartment setting. Any issues that arise I call the office and it is responded to. The Archwood manager is very friendly & professional. Maintenance does an awesome job on making sure sidewalks and parking lots are cleared in the winter and work orders are taken care of in a timely matter. All in all I am very happy with my choice and plan to renew another year.

Since moving in, there has been a fire, repetitive water outages (planned by the complex apparently, but no warning was given), the parking lot is basically turning into a large pothole, the office staff is there from 8-5 w/ an hour for lunch (or an hour and a half, or two hours..), marijuana in the stairwell regularly, car vandalism, regularly issues with the hot water heater(s), and the "security door" frequently is propped open or having its locking mechanism compromised. I had heard good things about this place, and was excited about the move. My upstairs neighbors are horrible, but that isn't the fault of the complex. The complex is near the highway, which is both noisy and convenient. The fact that the residents are primarily shady or undesirable is another story. My car has been vandalized four times, my bf's once (the catalytic converter stolen from his). After complaining about water/door/parking, the property manager has basically decided I am a problem resident and am "managed" by being "placated" and ignored. This has been a nightmare.

Granted.....I wasn't happy about moving to Michigan so I wouldn't like anywhere I moved to but I have to say archwood wasn't bad. It'snvenient to.the.highway....a good midpoint to Detroit and Ann arbor. The place.could do with some updating but it was clean, and safe, maintenance was always.on top of my needs and the office manager Lori is an absolute doll. Friendly helpful and genui.Ely cares for her residents.

I never felt safe being by myself. The door to my building never locked and anyone could walk right in. I got home from the bar at 2 am one night alone and there were 2 men sitting on the stairs outside my apartment charging their phone in an outlet in the hallway. They were there until almost 430. It's pretty scary unlocking your door to get in your apartment when youre a young female and you are alone and you live alone. Parking was good. Lots of spaces for everyone. Except you weren't allowed to use the back door to the building, so if you had to park far away, there were areas outside that weren't lit so you had to walk alone in the dark to get to the front door. There are always random cars around the parking lot with people sitting in them. I'm pretty sure the parking lot there is the local lot Where 16 year olds go to hang out away from their parents. The walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbor peeing and the people upstairs talking. You can hear people walking up the stairs when you're in your bedroom in the back. I had a major issue with mice. They weren't in my apartment but I could hear them in the walls and the ceilings every night through the winter. Maintenance was probably the worst part. The toilet above my apartment overflowed and it came through the ceiling, so I had a huge hole in the ceiling. I called the office several times to come fix it and kept being told the same thing "We have to order the parts". Umm...what? You have to order drywall? So I got plaster from my parents house and patched it myself. The office never called or came to fix it. My dishwasher went out and I called many times to have it fixed and noone ever came. Didn't have a dishwasher for the last 4 months or so. I called when my first year lease was up to ask if I needed to sign another lease or if my rent was gonna go up. She told me I've been paying rent on time every month and I've been a good tenant so to not worry about it. A few months later I dropped off that months rent check and she said "By the way, your rent went up to 600 a month (from 525) because you didnt sign another lease so you are renting month to month." I had a balance of about 400 dollars to pay since i was still paying $525 a month rent and I wasn't told I was being charged extra per month. So pretty much they were just gonna charge me every month for month to month without telling me. That was the last straw. I paid everything I owed, dropped off all my keys and moved out a month later.

After reading the previous reviews, I felt compelled to write one of my own. There have been negative remarks but I have to disagree with the harsh reviews. I have lived here for two years. I first must say that the maintenance staff here is awesome. Every time we have needed them to come and repair something, they are here almost immediately and fix things the right way, not the cheap and easy way. During the winter, they do an excellent job plowing the parking lot and shoveling/salting sidewalks. Actually, they do a much better job than at some much pricier complexes. The lady at the leasing office is wonderful and very easy to deal with. There have been problems with cars getting broken into. They responded pro-actively by having someone drive around and monitor the complex after dark. The downsides are, they could definitely put some better windows in because they can get very drafty in the winter-time. Especially the window in my bedroom. It can sometimes be hard to find a parking spot, and I really wish they had a playground for kids. There really is nowhere to take my child outside within the complex except the pool in the summer. I really wish I had a washer/dryer in my apartment but they are available in some apartments for a little more. Overall, this has been a nice place to live. I don't have any regrets and have recommended this complex to others.

I moved here September of 2011.I love the location, the area reminds me of living in the country.I made the worst mistake ever, I did not read the reviews before moving in, had I I would have never moved in.If any one has recommendations on a quit well managed complex please share. My apartment is next door to the most inconsiderate neighbors ever. Their music and tv is always loud as if they are the only ones living in the building.I've made several complaints to the leasing office and got no where, their (the leasing office) only concern is if you're going to pay your rent ontime. Recently I noticed a small transit truck riding around in the early am hours. I was curious and asked the person in the transit truck what was going on, to my surprise there has been numberous complaints about someone breaking into residents and vistors cars. Mind you, We did not recieve a notice from the leasing office. IT IS TIME FOR US TO MOVE THE HELL OUT

It's apartment living
I have been here for 6 months now. Here is a list of the Pros and Cons of Bellridge Pros: 1. nice size apartments ( I live in a 1-bedroom) 2. Large parking lots: I am always able to park right next to the building walkway 3. clean hallways: there is a maid who comes through and cleans each building once a week 4. Maintenance: The building door when we moved in never locked so the next day we went and told management and the following day they had their maintenance man out to fix it. We have never had any trouble with them and every time it snowed or rains they were here early shoveling or brushing the accumulated water off the walkway. 5. large porches: we like to sit outside and grill so this is nice 6. management: they have been so awesome, I don't have a single complaint. Plus they are here 7 days a week so if you have any trouble there is always someone in the office (during office hours obviously) 7. nicely lit parking lots: I work early in the morning and its usually always dark out when I leave so its nice feeling safe walking to my car 8. Safety: I haven't felt unsafe since living here. luckily the neighbors I have right now are very nice and keep to themselves. 9. Locality: Its 25 minutes from Detroit and 25 minutes to Ann Arbor. Its right next to 94 (good and bad) so you can go anywhere. But everything you need is basically on Ford road 15 minutes north Haggerty, but there are grocery chains and restaurants 5 minutes away on Belleville road. Also, there is an awesome park less than 5 minutes away on South Haggerty. Cons 1. Noise: Its hard to cancel out the humming of traffic from I-94 and Haggerty especially when the windows are open. Also, if you have lousy neighbors that like to play music, and loudly, I guarantee you will hear it. I don't know whether to blame "thin walls" or bad neighbor etiquette. If you live in an apartment you don't blare your music or tv or throw parties, its disrespectful. you get a house for that. People here also love to listen to their music in their cars very loudly and its easy to hear even with the windows shut. It doesn't happen often and for too long, but it is still a little upsetting. You can also sometimes hear people in the bathroom (of all places) if they are talking loud. Overall, I think any apartment you move into that is moderately priced will have noise issues, its just part of apartment living. 2. Smoking: Its a blessing and curse to have a building door and sharing hallways with strangers. Its nice to have the security of a locked door so strangers cant just walk in, but if you get people who like to smoke cigarettes or something else, it can get a bit smelly. Our apartment has never smelled like smoke though thankfully. 3. Laundry room: There is only 1 washer and 1 dryer. We some how have never ran into problems like having to wait to wash clothes even though there are 12 apartments per building. Its a bit pricey too 1.25 per wash and 1.25 per dry. It is a contracted out company that management doesn't deal with, but we haven't had any problems with them being broken. So if you asked me if I'd stay another year, yes I would. But I am undecided whether I will or not. I feel like there may be a better place elsewhere, but I am afraid to move in fear I will not have such nice neighbors and management. This is my first apartment too so I don't really know what other apartments are like. Plus I HATE moving and its worth 1 more year here. I would obviously prefer to live in a house rather than an apartment, but I have been satisfied living here so far and will more than likely stay for another lease. Plus I like the location. Hope this was helpful!

All Was Well Until...
Everything was great for a little while, i was a little ticked off when me and my husband first moved in, the apartment was not cleaned at all! I had to put off moving in for a week just to get the apartment clean. Bugs left over from the summer were all still around the balcony door and the bathroom and kitchen were disgusting. The first, ide say 6 months were ok, anything we needed they wouldnt hesitate to help. The past month and a half tho! LET ME TELL YOU! If this is how the landlord treats everyone there IM SORRY! I tried to get a hold of the associates in the office about a bee/hornet problem ive had for a month and a half now, they didnt answer AT ALL for the first 2 weeks. I left messages 3 or 4 times. I finally talked to a lady who said she would send maintanance out monday morning (it was sunday) WELL THAT NEVER HAPPENED! It wasnt until a few days later that i called and left a message and threatened them with a lawyer that they sent maintanance out, worst of all the owner didnt even call me to tell me that the guy was coming into my apartment! He came in my apartment WITHOUT ME KNOWING! I was at work! I come home to a note on my door saying "sprayed areas were seen" BULLCRAP! FYI when you use MY wasp spray, put it back where you took it from! Exterminator was suppose to be out that next morning. supposadly they sprayed outside. well that doesnt work because i had to kill FIFTEEN in one day that were in MY APARTMENT! they were also coming in my kitchen there was about 10 stuck in the light fixture (still is and im leaving them there). I called again... spoke to the owner who then said she was calling the exterminator to come back and would call me right back. I was off the whole day, no call back, no exterminator, its been a week since then. NOTHING HAPPENED! Worst of all, im allergic to bees. So, on Dec. 1st when you ask me if i wanna sign another lease, guess what? NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

Leaving was the best thing I did!
Let me first say that when I originally rented my apartment here I was really happy with it. I was extemely impressed with the manager who spent so much time with me and my wife, and really made us feel comfortable applying and ultimately moving in. Our apartment was clean and for the most part exactly what we were promised. It wasn't until the management company switched up the manager, that unfortunately things were just never the same. Suddenly our peaceful existance was disrupted by poor maintenance upkeep and a cold shoulder management style. It's really a shame that companies get rid of people with personality because the ultimately we probably wouldn't have been so frustrated with the faulty garbage disposal if we were treated with respect and kindness. We moved out after just that one year, but I honestly think we would have stayed if Shawn had stayed. Hopefully she went on to something better, she was obvioiusly a great people person! You can take your chances with Archwood now... maybe they've changed the manager again....

I MOVED OUT WHILE THE GETTING WAS GOOD...
When I first moved into Archwood I was really happy with it. The manager was super sweet and talked to me like a real person. The grounds were beautiful- the grass was like carpet! I really didn't have any complaints at all untill they replaced my nice friendly manager with some old coot. I think I was as just as happy to end my lease there as I was to move in. I went back to visit a friend this past fall and was in shock at the condition of the flower beds and grounds. What a shame, the place really had potential... My rankings are based on my experience at my departure, now when I moved in...

Careful Consideration Needed
Good and responsive manager. Maintenance responds in a reasonable timely manner. Went from a pleasant atmosphere to unpleasant quickly. Car broken into, loud neighbors, horrendous smell of something dead so bad had to sleep with window open, ended up being rotten chicken in a differnt neighbors kitchen trash can. That smell hung in the hallway for a week after it was cleaned out. Seems to have a lot of turnover of tenants and with the economy being poor- I think they are not picky about who they rent to. Pool was open when I moved in and they had to close it the next week cause someone took a dump in the pool. I think I was lucky for most of the time I was there and it caught up with me near the end.

Was great now not
I lived there when Nancy was still around. She moved out and now this new chick took her place. The air conditioner leaked from the apartment above and ruined the carpet in the bedroom. The windows are not even with the runners which gets pricey in the winter when paying bills. For the winter I have to call them and ask them to fix my heater because for some reason it would only go up to 62 degrees no matter how high I put it. When I needed to pick something up in the office the new lady just lets me come in and look for my own package and not even double check it s mine. I don t do it but it would be easy just to pick up anyone s package. That is actually when she s there. Most often than not is when I need to go to the office there isn t anybody there and the door is shut during office hours. I usually wait for the weekends because the people are nicer and they keep the hours. During the weekdays, I have to guess when the office staff would be there. Nine to five doesn t mean anything at Lighthouse. When Nancy was there it was great and I loved it. Now I m looking for another place to live.

I have lived here for some time. In the beginning, it was quiet and everyone was friendly. Management did nothing to fix your problems but it grew on you. In the last few years, things have gone from bad to outrageous.
--Vehicle vandalizism and/or theft (4 times for me, 7 cars in one night)
--Security is non-existant
--Mgmt does their best not to fix things
--Maintenance could be good, by they are only as good as those that lead them
--Cracks in floors and walls of their "newer" buildings

Not bad, but there are better choices
I've lived at Bellridge about a year. The building I live in has a great view and was very quite until a woman and her two children moved in downstairs about 6 months ago. Lately, the hallways have reeked of cigarette smoke. The apartment manager is very nice, but maintenance is terrible. I had to call them three time for the same problem with my furnance. The last time they came, they left a grease stain on the carpet. I will not be renewing my lease because I'm moving in with my fiance. If I were not engaged, I would probably renew because I hate moving.
