Quiet and affordable with great staff.
I recently moved out of Lighthouse point after living there for 3 years. I first looked into renting at Lighthouse Point because it was within my price range. I choose this apartment complex over the others I was considering because of the office staff. Nancy and the rest of her staff were kind, courteous and helpful. When I first moved in there were a few problems with my apartment, the paint on the tub was peeling, the air conditioner was not working properly, etc. However, Nancy offered to fix everything and all the items I asked to be fixed were taken care of within 1 week. After that most maintenance issues were small and repaired quickly, sometimes even the same day. I appreciated that the grounds were well kept and the hallways clean. This impressed many of my friends that lived in other apartment complexes where everything was not so well maintained. My building was also quiet which was important to me since I was a college student and I always felt safe in my home. When kids from the neighborhood next to Lighthouse Point were stealing cars from the parking lot, the apartment complex increased it own security and had the Van Buren Police patrol the lot more often. I was nice to know that the management was just as concerned about the problem and took the necessary action to protect its residence. I was very satisfied with my living experience at Lighthouse Point and only moved out because I bought a condo. But if I ever find that I need to move back into an apartment in this area, I would move back to Lighthouse Point.

Look elsewhere
Quiet place to live, however, the bathtubs are disgusting and mgmt has refused to do anything for this. They don't come clean, won't reglaze, won't replace. I refuse to take a bath because of this. I should be able to take a bath for the rent I pay. Not very kid friendly and you can't even let your kids use sidewalk chalk THAT WASHES OFF! Can't play outside on the grass. No playground for kids. Laundry facilities are a joke, and laundry comes up missing. Definately looking for a new place to live.

Great Place to call Home
I have lived at Lighthouse Pointe Apartments for just one year and can easily say it is one of the best apartments I have ever called home. The groundskeepers do a great job of staying on top of everything, the pool always looks nice too. It's quiet, peaceful and everyone is generally very friendly. Whenever I have a maintenance problem...they are always available as soon as possible...(even when I lock myself out on a Saturday!) They keep the buildings clean and are always updating renters on upcoming things at the complex.

I enjoyed my stay at Lighthouse Apts. I enjoyed my neighbors and that soon became my friends. The grounds where fabulously kept, and you would on any given day see them attending to them. Maintanence completed any order for repair quickly and management was extremely friendly, warm and courteous.
I enjoyed feeling part of a closer knit community that encouraged a neighborhood feel within a apartment complex.

Nightmare experience
Don't rent a unit at Lighthouse Pointe unless you like headaches (literally).

At first, I had no problems with my unit, and everything was happy. Then, in the middle of the hottest part of summer, my A/C died. It took them 3 tries before they got it working again, and each attempt was several days apart.

Then I noticed that, occasionally, the toilet seat was wet for no apparent reason. That went on for a couple of months before I figured out what was happening...the fan vent directly above the toilet was funneling leaking water from somewhere upstairs. I called maintenance & they told me they didn't see a problem, so call them back when water was actually dripping. Unfortunately, the water came in torrents at very inconvenient times, usually late at night or early morning, never when maintenance was in. So when I would call the answering service, they wouldn't send someone out because it was an ongoing problem.

Eventually the leak got so bad that the ceiling had water stains and started growing a very nasty black patch of mold. It was nauseating. I kept calling maintenance and they came out a few times, but at the time that I moved out (about 4 or 5 months after the problem started), they still hadn't fixed anything!

Then, as I was moving out, I found nasty black colored mold growing on the walls and carpets in both bedrooms and the living room (behind & on furniture and in closets). I lost everything that was on the floor in the closet of the master bedroom because it was covered in mold.

Stay away from Lighthouse Pointe (especially the lower levels) unless you want to get sick from mold & mildew!! And don't let them tell you that any water damage problems are from people leaving their windows open when the sprinklers are on. All my damage was far away from the windows!

Awesome Place, Nice Management
I have lived here for about 5 years in two differnt apartments (moved into a bigger apartment after 3 years). The resident manager is awesome - She is always able to help with problems or concerns, she is very professional and friendly! The building is quiet, well kept, clean and during the summer everyones flowers are so pretty. All the neighbors are nice.
The parking is never full. Its a nice place to call home.

This is my first summer here and I must say I love it. The pool is great - not crowded and very clean. I can always get on the tennis courts and they keep the grounds up great. It's a nice place to take a walk.

Nancy the Manger of Lighthouse Pointe Apartments is extremely helpful and courteous to the residents. I have had need to discuss apartment issues with Nancy and she has answered the needs with efficiency and professional responses. The work needed to take care of apartment issues is taken care of immediately by Nancy. It is a pleasure and a professional relationship the I recommend other apartment managers to imitate. It's due to Nancy's business approach that I left a poorly run complex and chose to live at Lighthouse Pointe Apartments. I have recommended this apartment complex to many people. Thank you for Nancy as manager.

Average, but quiet and clean
It's been awhile since I lived there (8 yrs.), but my family stayed for 7 years with no complaints. The grounds were neat and pretty well-lit, pool was nice and hardly ever crowded. Most of the people in our building (41491 bellridge blvd) were single couples or airline pilots who pretty much kept to themselves. I was only 14 when we moved out, but it seemed like a good, quiet place to live w/a family. The complex itself is on a small street, close to freeways and downtown (what little downtown there is..)but not too close to get clogged in traffic. My only complaints were that you can hear train whistles at night (tracks are about 5 miles away), which can wake you out of your sleep if you're not used to it, and every time there was a bad thunderstorm, the power would go out; more than once for a few days. Also, in our apt. you could hear the pipes tapping in the next bedroom if somebody took a shower or ran the faucet. I haven't been there since 1996, though, so I don't know how much things have changed.

I think it's the best in Belleville
I have lived here since 2000 and plan to continue living here. I work for the airlines and it is very convenient to the airport, expressway and any kind of shopping I need, but still offers the friendliness of a small town. My neighbors are very nice and we have a lot of fun playing tennis and swimming the the pool which is a great size, never very crowded and very clean.

The staff is always friendly and any service calls I have needed have been taken care of promptly. I recommend this complex to anyone moving to Belleville.

The thing we hated most was that maintenance people were coming into our apartment ALL THE TIME. They often gave barely any notice at all, and seemed to let themselves in whenever they wanted & then would leave notes after the fact about why they had been in there. I understand you may have to fix someone elses things that may be connected to my apartment but when I put in a request they took 2 weeks to fix it. My door was left unlocked by the maintenance and whenever I requested something to get fixed(such as a broken cabinet Shelf) they would make excuses as to why did shouldn't fix it. My blinds were missing peieces when I moved in and they took a month to actually come look at it and then told me that it was my fault they were missing because it had been a month since I moved in. I put the request in the day I moved in!!!
The staff are rude and the rent is too high
DOn't move here!

Think again....
Ok here goes, think twice about this complex. First of all the manager smokes and tries to hide it from the owner. The maintenance people do half jobs most of the time. Generally if it breaks once , guess what it will again in a month. Job security I guess.
The fitness room is a joke, I have seen better equipment in a garage sale. The tile in the managers office bathroom is not the tile you get in your apartment. You can smell pot all around the complex and they seem not to care.
They arent kid friendly, heaven for bid you look a little different the manager is all over you like rubber cement if it is a nice enough day to get out of the office. They dont want you to have anything on your balcony, heck if you pay that much in rent you should be allowed to have what you want on the balcony.
The rates keep going up on washing your laundry. But the halls appear to be clean (even though I have never seen them steam clean the halls). The front foyers dont match in each building.
If your shoes are muddy dont leave them in the hall, nasty grams come out or they disappear.

Again think twice before you chose slatkin

Decent place - current resident.
I have been here for almost a year now and I really like belleville. But for what they charge in rent. I think they could make the apartments a little nicer. Tubs glazing cracksm some of the kitchen floors are bad. Toilets old. Carpeting old and horrible, i wonder how many cleaning deposits they took from people and did nothing to the carpet. Heat and air are good. Hate sharing the washer and dryer, because they are small and old, when they break you have to wait days for the off site company to fix it. All in all it´s got it´s good and bad.

Wonderful place to live!!!!
I have lived here for the past four years. It is a quite, clean, well maintained area. The neighbors are friendly as well as the grounds crew. They are also the cheepest place around with the most space. You would be missing out if you didn´t give it a look.

The Maintenace was great!
I lived at Lighthouse Point Apartments. I was not very happy with my apartment. My bathtub was absolutely disgusting! There was paint chipping off of it in large chunks! My heat went out several times and I had a water leak in my apartment. However, the maintance was very friendly and responded quickly. I never had to wait for my repairs!

Quiet, well kept neighborhood
This community is a great value! It´s close to both Ann Arbor and Detroit and literally a stone´s throw away from the airport. It´s very quiet and well insulated from noise. I have lived in this community for about 4 years and I´ve only heard noise twice, and even that was minimal. The only problem is that the windows are a bit drafty, but I installed a window treatment kit and it minimized the draft. Overall this is a great place for both professionals and families to live. In addition to the tennis court, swimming pool and workout facility, you can enjoy the mature landscaping without having to worry about your kids playing in pet run areas.

I like living here very much.
The location is very convenient to the airport. We never have to worry about falling because they use lots of salt. It is very quiet here and the pool is very nice to visit. The staff couldn´t be more helpful and accommodating. The manager always go out of her way to make me happy.

Living here is very nice
Since I am a pilot, it is very convenient to the airport. The pool area is very nice and the surrounding grounds and woods are very pretty. Maintenance is always handled promptly and the apartment manager goes out of her way to make sure my needs are taken care of.
