Good place, no problems.
I really like living at Village Square. Nice staff, pretty grounds (pool & clubhouse/gym), good sized apartment, and reasonable rent. It's quiet, safe, and they allow pets (they even have a dog park). I can't really ask for much more from an apartment complex. I haven't experienced any of the problems that others on this site are complaining about, which makes me wonder if we're even talking about the same property. I'm talking about Korman Residential at Village Square in Bensalem. I don't think there's another Village Square in Bensalem, but I thought I'd ask since I really can't understand the complaints. Anyway, I would recommend this place to anyone. I've been here for 3 years already and no problems. Hope this helps.

Not too Good....Not too Bad
I've been living here since January of 2007. Me and my husband are not renewing the end of this month (January 2009). The rent is too high and is being raised another $30 this upcoming year. The two bedroom is nice which we now would need since I am expecting in the spring. Basically its the same thing as the one bedroom except there is a door on the den, not worth it. The parking is horrible, there are so many cars that are out of state that never leave for weeks and some tenants have 3 and 4 cars. If you go out past 8 good luck finding a parking spot near your apartment, you'll be walking from 3 or 4 buildings down. The condition of the sidewalks and parking lot in the winter is horrible. No salt at all. It takes someone getting hurt for them to do something. God for bid it gets icy or snows on a weekend, forget it. Its nice that they allow pets but some tenants don't know how to pick up after them, and you have to be careful if you walk in the grass. I do have to say that it's very quiet… See More>anonymous

Really nice community
I've been living at Village Square for almost a year and I just signed my lease renewal for another year. I've never had any problems with the maintenance people or with the office staff. Everyone has been really nice to me. The pool and clubhouse are both really nice and well maintained. My neighbors seem like nice, decent people. All in all I really have no complaints. I don't think I've ever lived "problem free" anywhere else, so I'm actually really surprised by how easy my experience here has been so far. I'd definitely recommend Village Square to my family and friends.

i broke my lease last month..
i wrote a review previously.. and like i said, i was going to break my lease - i did.. so it came down to holding my rent because my ceiling was soaked and dripping water on my floor and couch, they asked me if i was going to re-new in april, i explained i was not due to parking, people not taking care of their dogs correctly, rudeness from the office, and maintaince amoung a few other things.. so then they told me, there was NO reason to fix anything in my apartment because i wasnt staying anyway.. BUT, they expected me to pay for that space every month until april, that was falling apart little by little- as mentioned about 2-3 postings down.. so i broke my lease last mth, found a WONDERFUL place in bensalem.. same size apartments, for the SAME price- and they include a deck, and your OWN door, plus mail goes right in your own private door- so, no mail boxes to go out to.. i love it, i did however have a small maintaince issue within the first week with my shower- NOT an emergency; and they were out THAT SAME DAY! also, i… See More>anonymous

great place to live
Lived there for six months while being trained for a new position at my company's headquarters nearby. It met all my needs. I had a washer and dryer in my apartment which made life much easier as opposed to other places i have stayed. Was very safe, I never felt threatened or harmed. As a middle aged women that is very important to me. The staff were very courteous and friendly and the service was prompt. I would defintly stay there if i had to go to HQ again.

BEG you...PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE
I would not reccomend this apt to anyone who expects to get their SECURITY DEPOIST BACK AS PROMISED FOR normal wear. I lived here for 4 years and I got to move to the new place part of my job and I WAS INFORMED today that they are CHARGING ME 1200.00 for some stupid charges and you will be shocked with their unknown charges. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!

Should we or not? please be honest!
I have taken the time to read all the reviews both good and bad. My fiance and I have been thinking about moving here. We have a 4-year old and my biggest concern is what the property is like now. I'd like to be in a safe, semi quiet place where my car and tires won't be stolen as well as personal items. (as read about some other apartments) Would anyone recommend Village Square to us or should we keep looking' It looks like a great place to live, but if it's not worth it we will pay more for the safety of our child.

Pros and Cons.
When I was searching for apartments in PA, I look at about a dozen different apartments (Yardly, Fairless Hills, Langhorne, Morrisville, Bensalem) and narrowed it down to a top-5 list. Korman Suites would not be what I would call my dream apartment, but it suits my needs. First, to give you an idea of where I'm coming from and how I based my decision, I should let you know that I was looking for temporary housing (1yr) and my main concerns were cost, security, and distance from work. So although Korman wasn't the nicest, I think it was the most cost efficient without sacrificing safety. Pros of Korman: Nice community, REALLY nice gym, free pool. Looked like new carpets were put in. Cons: Looks like painting is their main cleaning solution...and they don't take care to avoid the phone jacks. That being said, there was one phone jack in the kitchen that worked and the cable jack worked in the living room. Kitchen cabinets are a bit small with unwieldy knobs. I personally think the electrical plugs in the kitchen are not in the best positions. The bathroom mirror "cabinet"… See More>anonymous

MONEY HUNGRY
I would not reccomend this apt to anyone who expects to get their SECURITY DEPOIST BACK AS PROMISED FOR normal wear and tear on an apt. i was there 6,ths never hung up a picture never put a hole in the wall the kitchen was spottless. I WAS INFORMED yesterday that they kept my deposit and are NOW CHARGING ME extra 200.00 for a rug that they had to replace supposidly and for the RIDICULOUS ELECTRIC THEY USE THERE> wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too high for a 1bdrm. However the rug did have a stain in the livingroom and one in the den. nothing BIG AT ALL AND faded bc i have cleaned it several times. they claim that a professional CLEANING SERVICE came out and could NOT get it out. it was not even a liquid substance that made the stain to begin with. maybe the size of hte palm of your hand is all it was and FAAAAAAAAAAAADED! so now i get nothing back and they cant do anything about it supposidly. and how do i know for sure they put a NEW RUG In there? i dont......... it's a horrible thing to do to people. I am asking for the name of… See More>anonymous

DO NOT MOVE HERE! IT'S HORRIBLE!!!
Living here has been one of the worst experiences of my life! The management is neither courteous nor helpful and while the maintenance staff is friendly, they do not provide prompt or quality service. There is absolutely no security or sufficient lighting at night. My car along with several others has been broken into because of it and a police officer informed me that the management is very aware of the problem but apparently refuses to do anything about it except raise the rent. I've had nothing but problem after problem here which is why I absolutely hate it and can't wait to move out!

Would not recommend
I lived here for 6 months and this was my worst apartment living situation yet. I had an apartment infested with silverfish and the exterminators came out several times without any success in getting rid of them. When I asked management if they could place me in a new apartment I was told there was nothing available. There was spilled food in my cupboards and the carpeting was dirty when I moved in.

Would Nnot Choose this Place Again
We moved in last year and from the beginning things were wrong. We were lied to about fixes that were done, the move in cleaning was below par, and the things we later found wrong were numerous. Not all rooms were repainted, carpets were not new, and we basically spent hours cleaning after move in as what they call clean and what we call clean are two different ideas. It was not filthy but we have rented for the last 8 years and this is our 4th place in 3 states and we never had to clean after move in before. They did fix everything we pointed out but mostly they jerry rig things. The kitchen and bathrooms are very outdated in the non renovated models and they charge a good bit for these apartments. I refuse to pay $50/month extra for a renovated apartment. I am basically paying them for the upgrades they did. No thanks. Our single biggest complaint is the centipedes. I can deal with the other issues but I can't deal with the centipedes. We have been plagued with them since move in. They can be small or… See More>anonymous

It's not THAT bad guys...
Take these reviews with a grain of salt, EVERY place on this site has horrible reviews probably half by people who never lived there. People who have a positive experience don t take the time to write a review, so all you see is the negative reviews who people feel they need to share with the world in any way. Keep that in mind. I have had a generally positive experience in my 2 years at Village Square. While it isn t perfect, show me what apartmet is around here. Few points: -Maintenance: I ve always had requests fulfilled within a day or two for routine things from sink plunging to lock readjusting. Emergency things they were generally pretty good about coming immediately. Minor roof leak behind my wall, roofing contractor was on the roof the next day replacing shingles. When I moved in, the AC did not work. The man spent all day repairing it which included lugging a 100 lb main unit up the stairs and installing it, this all in the sweltering 95 degree heat. Never a problem with it… See More>anonymous

DISGUSTED BY THE ELECTRIC BILLS..............
This place is one of the most outrageos places I've ever seen in regards to electricity charges. Everything in the apartment is electric. I only have a 1 bedroom apt, and my electric bill is always around $120 if not more. I've heard some people say their bills were $300 or more. Our apt always has cold air blowing through in the winter and hot air blowing through in the summer. You just can't win except for spring and fall, even then you're electric bills are on around $90-$100. I've lived in other apts and never paid more than $80 and that was over the summer when my air conditioner was running ALL DAY!!! It's cheaper to pay the electric bill on a 2 story house than it is on one of these apartments.

Second of all, my apartment has 4 phone jacks, out of those 4 jacks - ONLY 1 OF THEM WAS GOOD!!! Just after moving in I called the rental office and their response was "we don't handle that, you'll need to call you're phone company". When I called the phone company they wanted to charge me… See More>RothGoldberg

Not bad compared to most apartments in the area
I work for a telecom company based out of Texas so we've been renting an apartment for the past 2years so we can send various staff to start up a satellite office in Center City Phila. The property is maintained pretty well however the lighting is very poor at night. There are many areas within the complex that a pitch black making it easy for breakins. Parking can be tricky at times but most apartment complexes have the same problems. THe layout of the property is nice, so you don't feel like everything is crowded together. The leasing staff have been extremely helpful with our company, we were treated as if we were thier number one customer. The location is not far from major highways and is centralized to most of our shopping needs. Like I stated earlier, my biggest complaint is the lighting. There were many times I would not park in certain areas for fear of a breakin. The electric was pretty high when we first rented but theyve upgraded since then and it's made a big difference. I would defintely recomend renting from this property especially if youre a business in need of short term leasing needs.… See More>iluvdisplace

lame, uncaring, dirty, can't wait to leave!
Very strange over here -- not recommended ever! Only good thing is Wawa and location to R7 train! well just to start, it took 5 years of repeated asking for new windows when the rest of our building's had already been replaced...5 years ago! broken tiles in bathroom from 3 years ago still unfixed. repeated leaks in bathroom from all fixtures. basement of our building has been flooded with 3' standing water that lasted multiple months and occurred multiple times. there are monstro german cockroach looking creatures that our cats don't even mess with and the tiny babies run all around the bathroom and bathtub. oh, and the super creepy speedy house centipedes. appliances all original from the 1970s. enegry billed direct from Korman - expected to get rammed. oh, and the cascade of soapy water that splashes down the utility wall each time our upstairs neighbors laundry is done washing. yes, we've asked for that fixed many times in past 5 years and yet - still the soapy falls of village square east leaving a nasty moldy hole in the floor direct to aforementioned nasty moldy basement. We've had dumpsters hover/roll around in the parking lot taking up spaces,… See More>anonymous

Terrible Management
The rental office staff is nice (not the management office itself though). That's about all I can say for this place. The electricity bills are horribly overinflated, there are silverfish and spiders everywhere, the bedroom door doesnt' shut, the parking sucks... there's probably more I'm missing. It's cheaper to buy a house and pay a mortgage than rent here and pay their electric bills. Make sure you give a 60 day written notice if you want to leave, otherwise you're locked in for another year lease.

OK for the price
I lived here for almost 13 years. They did take very good care of the place. Never had a problem with the mantenance or management staff. However the buildings are starting to fall apart. The kitchens are extreamly dated. The shingles are constantly blowing off with every storm. Snow removal here is excellent as is the groundskeeping. It's about the best around for the price. It's a better deal than the one by the mall

Depends on Actual Apartment
Maintenance were nice and pretty quick to respond to calls BUT they never once completed a job fully on a single visit. We got flooded several times from issues with the upstairs apartment and they simply dried the carpet with a fan and never replaced it or the underlay as promised. We had MANY attempts to fix our AC/Heating which got so loud that my chest would vibrate with the noise (not joking!). The door to the utilities was also in the 2nd BR and there was a 2" gap in the wall which meant we had to completely seal the door to keep the room warm. Fixtures are old; paint is so cheap that your dishes stick to it and the doors stick (or else don't close properly). Forget cleaning the laundry area, as the lint just seems to get kicked into the AC unit rather than filtered outside and sticks to the wall. Silverfish were a problem in the 1st apartment but not the 2nd. However, we had ants in our apartments.

Electricity is ridiculously expensive and we are now paying less than 1/4 in our new apartment compared… See More>anonymous

Don't be fooled
While the area is convenient and the neighborhood is pretty nice...the apartment itself and the staff (including maintenance) is horrible. In 2002 our upstairs neighbor's washer flooded our entire apartment. We slept in the living room on our couch for a week because our bedroom was destroyed and it took over 2 years for all of the damage to finally be repaired. The maintenance staff are not well trained at all and never finish what they start. The office staff is not very helpful either. Recently our AC is broken...maintenance said it will be a few days, the office said 2 weeks and that it is only an emergency if it is 94 degrees out! Try telling a toddler to sit down and relax so they don't overheat. I would never recommend this apartment to anyone. Also, parking after 6pm is like rolling dice!

absolutely terrible
Don't waste your time. They show you a model when reality is lots of bugs (but offers to send the exterminator in b/c he visits every Wednesday!), some rodent sounds, creaking floors above, smelly and unmaintained hallways. Looks great on the outside but, management sells you a bunch of lies. They have the nerve to ask for a deposit on this piece of crap. Oh, and beware the tiny washer and dryers in closets. I lasted less than a month. Good thing they have the money back guarantee.

DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was supposed to move into the Korman Suites Village Square on Saturday Feb. 18. Before i even walked into the apartment I could see into it because the door had two rips in it by the deadbolt. When I Actually walked into the apartment the floor was soaking wet. It smelled like wet cat and there was cat hair all along the wall where the rug met the wall. There was water ALL over the window sills. Tiles were falling off in the bathroom and a lot of the tiles were missing. Along the wall in the hall way there were brown streaks near the vents. I opened the window and the windows had green all over them like mold but it could have been something else. When I open the closet doors in the bedroom the shelf was barely hanging on to the wall it would have fallen if i would have put anything on it. The only good thing I can say is when I went to the management office they had no a problem giving all my money back.
