Not worth your Money
Upon viewing the complex, I immediately fell in love with it and signed my lease. Shortly after the problems were starting to arise. My apartment was located closest to the wall where the car wash is (beware of the carwash). The carwash is extremely loud and noisy, especially when ppl who wash their cars blast their music without any regard to the tenants. The other problem was my upstairs neighbors were way too noisy. I would always ask them politely to stop stomping around or walking so loud. (I know that they can't help walking around, but if the apts. weren't so cheaply built it wouldn't be a problem). The other thing with my neighbors was that I think they constantly had people moving in and out, but the main tenant resided there. The walls are very frail and I could hear their music late at night (sometimes til 1am) coming thru the walls. I would pay extra each month for living on the 1st floor but I don't see why since it brings in a lot of critters and unwelcomed noise. I had so many spiders and small insects all the time. I also believe my storage unit was pried open, but since I had nothing of monetary value in there, nothing was stolen. I always found the staff very nice and courteous. I never addressed the issue with the noisy neighbors because I just started to stay at my boyfriend's place instead. Parking was pretty adequate, although if I got home real late at night, I would have to park my car far from my apt. In the mornings to get to 820 traffic was unbelievable! Seeing how close I was to 820, I'd thought it wouldn't be a problem, but I would have to wait 10 min each morning to get on the ramp. Another major upset was the water billing. The water is metered at this complex. Which means you only pay for your own usage (nothing wrong with that), except that the city of Haltom charges a flat rate for the first 1,000 gal whether you use it or not. My water bill when I was living there was about $45 (for 1 person) and when I wasn't staying there it was $24 for no gal usage, which I thought was outrageous! I really liked that my unit had a washer/dryer, intrusion alarm, and some nice amenities. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you live on a 3rd floor unit, away from the carwash.

KEEP ON LOOKING
From the beginning everything seemed good. The apartment tour gave a good impression of the property. After signing the lease contract everything went downhill. The first problem was the pool. There are two pools located on the property; The pool in the back was always dirty. It was closed majority of the summer. Turning in a maintenance request did no good. Nothing was ever done to clean the pool. The second problem is maintenance. Good luck getting anything fixed in your apartment. You will have to submit numerous requests and be very persistent with the staff to get anything done. The third problem is the staff. Don't expect great customer service from them. They are extremly rude and obviously do not care about their residents. They spend most of their time smoking in the garage by the leasing office and riding around on the golf carts. Please do not waste your time here. There are plenty of other great apartments in the area much better than here.

Beware people who may have pets EVEN visit here for a DAY
The management left me a nasty gram (24 hours to remove pet or else...) after merely having a pet visit my apartment twice within a 2 week timeframe. No barks upon knocking on my door is clue #1 no pet here....couple that with no common courtesy to call me and discuss the matter since I have been a resident here for 2 years......and I am not renewing my lease. I hate to ramble like a bloody idiot...I hate to bring myself to the management's level.....but I thought it my due dilligence to advise the general public of this matter. P.S. The management will not discuss business matters after hours because they are too busy smoking, walking their dog, and overlooking blatent and ridiculous pet behaviour (loud, loud barking) on a balconies here and there. The management here forgot what customer retention is all about and hopefully as a result, their headquarters (Sentinel Corp) will feel it in the pocket book when you decide to not lease here.

Great place to live, staff is very attentive!!!!
I have had my ups and downs with Apartments and would have to say this is one of the best, Friendly.... well maintained properties by far. Mike is the manager here and couldn't do a better job! Nice and friendly crew he runs aswell. They keep the property clean, no problems with my place, well lit parking lot AND the list goes on and on,... Nothing but satisfactory with my experience! My microwave went out just a few weeks ago and without question they replaced it within a few days. Thats great service!!! If your're looking for a place to live, and havn't checked out Amesbury Court, You owe it to yourself and family to see how nice living here could truly be! Great job Guys!

I hate this place - beware of maintenance
I called the office to have something repaired in my apartment and the maintenance guy smoked in my apartment!! I don't smoke and was beyond upset that the apartment personnel would have the lack of respect for me to do that in my home. The manager has agreed to let me out of my lease - good decision on her part. Now how about paying for my new application, deposit and moving costs somewhere else! Poor management staff. I would not recommend!

Good find
Since moving in, I've had nothing but good experiences. From the start, everyone in the office was very nice and very helpful. The apartment looked BRAND new when I moved in. In the 7 months I've lived here, I think I have seen one moth, no bugs otherwise. The walls are a little bit thin, I can sometimes hear my neighbors. People running up and down the stairs can also be annoying, but what can you do? Its an apartment complex. Plenty of parking, nice grounds that are well kept. Good location to shopping, gas stations... Definitely a great place! I'll be renewing my lease!

Lay off the Crack, Whiners ... jeez
My fiancee and I moved in August of 2007. From the beginning, we had NO problems with the apartment management at all. Any time I called to have things fixed, it would be fixed that day. For example.. my disposal was not working correctly, i called maintenance and left a message. 10 mins later a repair man was fixing my sink @ 4pm in the afternoon. Other little things like.. lightbulbs that have blown out, or fire alarm batteries going low - i would call them and they would fix it immediately. Pet waste is not a problem. Only sorta-gross thing is the dumpsters get really full on the weekends and sometimes overflow by monday. I live right in front of one, and it doesnt smell or bother me. Maintenance will come and literally smash all the overflowing trash into the dumpster/compactor - they dont just leave it in the open which i think is very considerate and not their job. I rarely see bugs, and ive never seen stray cats or a scorpion etc. They are also good about killing fireant mounds. People need to stop crying about the damn gates not working correctly. I cant count how many times, in this apt and other apts, that people just sneak in behind you in their cars - fixed gate or no fixed gate. Since August 07, the gate was broken for about 2 weeks and then fixed. I havent seen a problem since. The apt complex offers a lot of parking (covered and uncovered) and some detached garages. They have 2 nice pools, a volleyball court that has been taken care of, and a tennis/basketball court that is used often. They also have free storage outside of your apartment for every apartment - like a walk-in closet you can put your bikes in, or extra things like boxes. I havent heard of a break-in or things being stolen. I have a very nice car, and the building i live in is way in the back so it could be an easy target, and it has never been touched by a burglar or dented by an -------. The only problem I have had with the apartment is the white trash family that lives below us. Some trashy --- late 20's ----- with atleast 4 kids and a sleezy boyfriend that runs upstairs at any given time and says we are noisy. It is ME, MY FIANCEE, and MY CAT! apparently, the cat makes too much noise when it runs or something. first time she came up and asked us if we play darts @ 4 am.. WTF? I dont even know what that would sound like. The general look of people is just normal, nice people, probably 20's to middle 30s - mainly college kids and young families with kids. There are occasional parties, but people usually keep them under control. I dont hear people through the walls. Ive never had a domestic dispute problem or any other stupid thing that cops need to show up for. I would def. reccommend this place. I am moving because I changed jobs, but i wish I could just move the apartment complex with me. Dont listen to these bad reviews, take a look for yourself.

good and bad
When we moved in the gates were not working, but it was also raining and lightning and the people could not fix the gate due to weather conditions. The gate only worked two weeks out of the first eight we lived here. The walls are super thin and we are surrounded by families with children. We can here when the children have tantrums. No one in our building seems to respect the others that are living around them. People on the 3rd floor go bounding up and down the stairs like a herd of cattle. The people above us have been known to play their music so loud that we can understand the words of the song that they are listening to. Trash days are mondays and thursdays and time to set out trash has been set for early those mornings, but people are setting out trash the night before. There are supposed reprocussions (fines) for setting out trash early, but I'm not sure those fines have been re-enforced. We have only had to call maintenance once and was pleased with the results. Parking is not much of an issue. I think there should be a designated visitor section at each building though. The few times we have had to deal with the office staff they have been friendly. Before we moved in and the first weeks we lived here when we needed to call the office we always had to leave a message. They were not good about returning phone calls. Our lease will be up in a few months and we are unsure of if we are going to renew our lease or move. We don't really want to move again and we also don't want to live with screaming children around us and cattle drives up and down stairs.

I rent here now...
I like this apartment. It's huge, pretty- and I can brag about it to my friends. Maintenance is fast- but then again I give the maintenance guy cookies when he comes so this *may* have something to do with it. I just think since I am nice and joke around with the staff, the reciprocate. I have heard horror stories about it from other people but it is almost like they are talking about a different place. I do not like their trash policies- pickup is only on mondays and thrusdays, and I barely get up early enough to get it out there- and I have a lot of parties and so tend to need to take out trash more often, and their little compactor kindof sucks. And you can't leave your trash on your patio or outside your door or they will send goons to come beat you up. Other than that- its pretty, nice, well kept- very quiet unless your neighbors are sir-stomps-a-lot and the lady heavyfoot. It really depends on who you are and your situation. I suggest a short lease, and if you don't like it- leave. Also they tend to blockbust- I notice all the kids just happen to be around me, and the adults are towards the back... this is by no means a bad thing.

the good and bad
If you have no pets and your life is predictable, this is a great place. But, when the carpet "has" to be replaced once your pets leave, you might as well leave your arm and leg. I left that place perfect, after only living in it for 2 months, and I owe them $300 for their "necessary" carpet replacement. Mgmt and Maint are okay, nothing wonderful. The grounds and apts are nice, spacious, comfy. But look elsewhere if you have pets.

NOT Worth the Money!
Believe me! Can't even use the amenities I pay for. Staff sometimes rude. Over priced! Can hear the neighbors having sex every night (even though they were bragging about the "well insulated" walls saying they were pretty much sound proof). Been to better complexes that are cheaper.

Mike is great!!!!
My husband and I have lived here for over a year, and love it! the property is completely safe and extremely clean. we really dont talk to anyone but Mike, he is one of the leasing officers at the main office and he is very helpful and extremely polite, anytime we ever ask for anything he does it with a smile. when we ask for something to be repaired, he makes sure it gets taken care of in a great manor. the manager at the facility was also very nice when we moved in and the entire time that we have been here. They have great useful ameneties and i would definately recommend this place to any age group. Our lease is comming up and we are considering to stay, unless my husband accepts another job offer, but I have to say that we will be very sad if we had to leave. Ofcourse not everything is perfect, when we moved in there were some minors fixers, but Mike emmediately took care of them. Over all this is a great facility with great staff, in a wonderful safe location.

The staff must be writing the good reviews....
I have lived in Amesbury court for over 2 years, and my lease is finally up and I am sooooo happy. The managment is horrible, maintenances takes forever. Everytime there is an issue, it takes them forever to take care of it. If the neighbors are noisy (and they are VERY NOISY), you cannot complain to the office about it, because they do not deal with that. They will just tell you to call the police! Every resident I have talk to is waiting to move out at the end of their lease. That is why there is always NEW PEOPLE moving in. Not because this is a great place to move, but because people move in and then realize this is not the place they want to live!! Trust me! It looks really nice driving by, but once you move in, you will know. Also, if you get covered parking, just know that people will park in the spot you paid for, and don't go tell the office, because they will not help you.
I am pretty sure the staff is writing the ONLY good reviews on this website.

Horrible!!!!!
First of all, the last day I was there we had to call the cops because the guy above us was beating his wife and we heard everthing! When we called the ----- of a manager she told us not to worry about it. We had to pay for things that were broken when we moved in! There were bugs EVERYWHERE! Before we moved out, they told us our rent was going to go up over $100 if we wanted to stay (real appealing). When our heater stopped working and it was 20 degrees outside, it took 2 days for the maintenance to get there! UHHH This is an awefull place, hopefully no one else has to deal with what we went through!!!!

Best place for the money!
My husband and I lived here for 18 months and hated to leave! Our 2b/2b apt was huggggeee. For the rent less than $800 one year ago, this place is a real deal. The complex is quiet, clean and the management very very helpful. The apts come with washer and dryer which made it irresistable! The cabana which we rented twice for parties and the business service makes this place a definite must see according to us. If we every move back to Texas and Haltom City amesbury court will be our first stop!

A Great Place To Live
It's Feb, 2006. I've lived here since Aug, 05. I'm a 57 yr old male, professionally employed, and think this is a great place to live. I don't really understand other peoples complaints. An attractive place, in a great location, with a great management staff.( No, I do not work for the apt complex!)It's as quiet as any apt complex, and I've lived in 4-5 over the U.S. during my life time. Do you ever see any trash on the grounds? On a rare ocassion, something may be dropped as trash is taken out, but is quickly cleaned up by the grounds keepers. This could happen in any apt complex you live in. This is a clean place.
Do you ever hear your neighbors? On a rare occassion. Nothing that has ever been a problem to complain about. It's a pretty quiet place. People have said the electric gate sometimes sticks in the open position.
On an ocassion it does. They take steps to fix it. Most apt complexes around here dont have any gates at all!. So get over it! It's not a problem. Maintenance is great. If you have a problem, they get there and fix it! Period! If you are a problem tennant, have trouble paying your rent on time, make noise, or make a mess in the complex, don't come here. Management dosen't want you,and neither do we(the tennants). It's a good place to live.

You can find BETTER
As for the OWNERS selling you info - is a bunch a CRAP - looks as if someone went and put that on all the apartment ratings web site - actually they can take whatever info they need and sell it to whomever they wish - they are just trying to scare you - but we have every right to say what we wish about the apartment experience - and believe me Amesbury was my third and the WORST !

Sad to leave (Amesbury, not Texas)
This Place has been great. Very spacious and well designed for the feel of a home. The staff gives a super welcome when moving in and continue to treat you well. They go out of their way to please their tenants. Where there are problems (such as people not picking up after their dogs or car alarms going off), they deal with them tactfully and promptly. The grounds are kept immaculate. In our experience, the only person we’ve had a problem with was the maintenance supervisor who is rather overbearing. We asked that someone else take care of our maintenance requests and haven’t had a problem since. The rest have been extremely kind and courteous. Someone mentioned a rude office manager here? We’ve been here two years, have met them all and have had nothing but great responses to all our needs. Also, there have been cars broken into all over the DFW area. Nice cars are targets…. There is a sheriff who walks the grounds at night (I’ve seen him plenty of times in the past two years), he’s on call all night.
I’ll close in saying that I’ve lived in apartments all of my 36 years. These are honestly the best I’ve encountered.
Stay Away!!!!!
Where do I begin? I should have seen this one coming when they offered me two months free rent to move in. First off the so called security gate is ALWAYS broken. Crime here is terrible. I can't even use the outgoing mail box in fear of having my personal information stolen. Instead, I have to drive to the post office to mail my letters and bills. Several cars have been broken in to over the past few months as well, so be ready for that. Second off, if you wish to receive a response from the office staff don't count on it. The manager is terrible, she has the attitude that "I have you locked in a contract so F You". The maintenance staff is the most rude unprofessional group that I have ever met in my life. I would have fired the whole staff a year ago. The rent here is ridiculous in comparison to other places in the immediate area. I have been counting down the days to my departure for over a month and I even payed extra to start moving in to my new place three weeks early. Third if you live on the second or third floor be prepared to tiptoe because the insulation here is terrible. Overall this place is way too over priced for what you get and I recommend you seriously look elsewhere for a place to live!!!!

Looks Good but a total SLUM
Gate always broken, car burgularies constantly, staff never in office always get recording and never receive a response - maintenance is terrible unprofessional no experience, they have reduced rental rates for a reason, they cannot keep residents and no wonder they offer to move NEW residents in for free - living here is a total mistake - go elsewhere you can find better, you would think my now the management company would come and clean out the office since they are so unprofessional and lacks people skills
