worst apartment in haltom city
this is the most horrible living experience I have had since moving to texas - amesbury staff is so rude, manager is such a &*#& people are breaking into this place, car thiefing, busted windows, etc. - now on to the INSECT problem - good gief there are more bugs inside then they have outside - I have 2 months left and already have my stuff packed to get the hell out of here

Worth the price
I've been here for about 4 months now and I can see why this is such a great place to live. This is by far the most gorgeous apartments in Haltom City/Fort Worth area. They have so many things to offer you that no other apartments have. The office staff is very friendly and willing to help you any way they can.

Good place
I just moved here and overall its beena good experience. Its a little more expensive, but you get washer and dryers included and entertainment centers built in. I dont know why people have bad comments, but I never had a bad experience. This is apartmartment living people. The only complaint I have is the hideous looking lady on the first floor letting her kids run around. Anyways, I would highly recommend this place!

Disgusting!!
I have lived here for 6 months now and this place is hideous. I thought it was awesome when I first signed, they play a good game.

Day of move in, nothing was ready. I was here with two kids, and a huge moving truck and they told me to come back in 2 hours. I wasn't from around here so I had no where to go for two hours with two little kids...very inconveinant.

On move in, the wall was painted and I had specifically told one of the girls I did NOT want it painted. I guess instead of writing it down, she tried to just remember and forgot. I had to go through a big ordeal with the manager who is a B%&*@ and FINALLY I got the wall painted back to white. BUT they left behind a lot of paint on the floor which looks real trashy.

I have called to have the carpet fixed two separate times because it is coming up where the tile meets the carpet. Both times they fixed in temporarily with a GLUE GUN for crying out loud. Needless to say it is still unraveling and not a day goes by where either me my husband or our children get our toes stabbed by the nails coming up.

We have found several roaches, and even a scorpion. We have a MILLION little worms coming out of the carpet. The ant problem is absolutely TERRIBLE. When we call about the bugs they tell us the bug guy comes on Tuesdays and if we want MAJOR bug work done we have to remove all of our belongings from the cabinets and closets....why didn't they do this BEFORE we moved in???

Yes, the noise from the other apartments is terrible, but it's an apartment so what do you expect.

The crime is bad, my husbands car and several others had their windshields broken and stereos taken, the weights from the workout room were stolen, the gate is ALWAYS broken, and even our mailboxes have had breakins. Why don't they even inform people when there is a string of crime starting?? They don't even send out a flyer warning residents. The have no security or anything here and the lighting around the cars is non-existent.

Parking...hmm...all I can say is there is none. If you come home later than 9 then your screwed. Unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for a garage or a covered spot. Speaking of the covered spots, they are ALWAYS empty so why don't they just let first come first serve park there?? Almost every other apartment does! UGH very frustrating.

Everyone on here says the grounds are kept well but I disagree. They are gross. Trash in all the bushes, muddy, ant piles everywhere, cigarette butts are ALWAYS on our doorstep but NONE of us smoke. The groundskeepers just throw their butts down wherever they please and it's gross.

There is so much more, but I think I've said enough..DON'T MOVE HERE!!!

not worth it
I wish I had known about this site before moving into place - all the positive comments are so false it is sickening - all the negative comments are SO TRUE - cannot wait until lease is up !!! staff terribly rude - property manager is so unprofessional - needs training if she plans on staying in a people oriented business !!!

Great place to live
We haved lived here for almost three years now and we love it. It really is a nice place to live. The office staff is wonderful. Everyone is very friendly and very helpful. The grounds are kept beautiful. There have been a few problems with mail boxes and the gate situation. But anywhere you live you can expect to encounter a problem or two. But overall Amesbury Court is by far the nicest complex in the Fossil Creek area.

overpriced
Lived here for 7 months now and about to get out of this place because they are rasing rent. The apartment is nice but you pay too much for what you get. The gate is always broken and the terms of the lease are very stringent. I would not chose this place again but I have lived in worse.

A couple more weeks and we are out of this disgusting place
We are so looking forward to getting out of here - this place is terrible, staff is so unprofessional, manager is awful - no wonder they cannot keep their staff - miserable place to live and miserable people to deal with, car breakins, mail boxes broken into, gates totally USELESS - leaving and not looking back - take my advice and DO NOT LIVE HERE

It's Not that bad
I have lived here for over a year and the management team has worked with me when ever I needed them too. They are understanding and considerate. The only complaint that I have ever had and my boy friend is that the gates are always broken, because some idiot is hitting it with there car or what ever. They need to install the gates that open up from the side like the exit gates. Other than that, I even renewed my lease in July for another 6 months. I recommend this place.

no problems here!
Ive been here for several months I like it here. Yeah the gates has been hit a couple of times by ignorant people. All the things that i ask to be fixed is done promptly. I dont agree about the ranch being better...I just moved out from them and I didnt like it at all. They are cheaply built and no quality in construction. My experience with the office staff has been great and dont really know why people complain. Anyways...I would recommend these apartments.

Horrible Management/Horrible Staff
I wish I had viewed this website before moving into this hellhole - everything that is said here is absolutely TRUE - anything suggesting this place is wonderful - is absolutely CRAP - office staff is the most ignorant group of people - 2 months left and cannot wait to get out of this place - moving to where everyone else moved to the Ranch @ Fossil Creek - Amesbury Court cannot keep the place half occupied even offering free rent along with a free move - The Ranch is about 95% occupied - probably 50% of the residents coming from Amesbury Court because Amesbury Court is a total nightmare !

Great place
I've been living here for the past year and I love it over here. I looked around this area for a new apt after my lease ended here and didnt find anything else nicer. So I ended up resigning my lease. I dont know why people are giving so much bad reviews and all my neighbors are pretty happy.I bet anything its the same disgruntled people writing the same reviews over and over trying to make the property look bad. I found out about the flag incident from my neighbor. Yes it was wrong for burning a flag, but we cant stop idiots from doing things. I heard there was a weird lady living there where the flag was burned....so I dont know..she might have done that herself to make a statement.Anyways....The prices here are reasonable but not cheap, but they come with washer and dryers! Again, I love it here and I had 2 of my friends move here and the office staff took $400 off my rent for referring. Also my friends havent had a problem either.

This place is a mess!
I was out this weekend and saw the police across from my building talking to some people so I asked what was going on. The officer told me there was a fire on a resident's balcony where 'someone' had burned a P.O.W. flag and a US Marines flag that was on some guys balcony!

Does this tell you what kind of people live here and how well monitored and secure the property is? I cannot wait until my lease is up and I can get out of this place. I also called the office to inquire more about this situation and the guy answering the phone said it was really nothing and I shouldn't be alarmed?! Whatever!

DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE AND SIGN A LEASE HERE!

DON'T BE FOOLED!
Don't make the same mistake as we did! Don't be fooled by the outside, and the 2 free months rent (why else would a complex continually offer this special if they could keep residents?). The owners, management, and most staff are unresponseful to your issues and requests. Management will not enforce complex rules for certain residents. "Everytime" you call the office, you get the answering machine. Get "everything" in writing! (See "Curious" review). The security gate is "always" broken. Maintenance is slow. I had to wait over a month to get my leaking storage room repaired. Numerous car burglaries and vandalism. We had two cars broken into right outside our window in broad daylight. Management said it was a problem in the area. I asked a few other complexes, and they had no car break-ins. Mail boxes broken into. The noise is horrific, sounds like your neighbor is coming through the ceiling. Cannot allow our daughter to play in the common areas because of the dog droppings.
Do your research, and ask around before moving here. There are much better to be found in the area. Check out other complexes on this website (I only wish I knew about this before I moved here, I would have rather slept on a park bench downtown than here).

Unsure just yet!!!
I moved in at the end of June 2004. When I picked up the keys and signed the lease, you would think my apartment would be ready? No, it wasn't!! The carpet was still wet, still had stains!! Just way gross. It was coming up where the carpet meets the tile. After complaining enough, I did get new carpet and it is still coming up in areas. The paint on the walls was still wet, the kitchen sink wasn't working right, the dishwasher did and still doesn't work right, ice maker was leaking...and there are roaches!!! Yes ROACHES!!! I am one of cleanest neat freaks out there...I have been called MONICA from time to time. And yes, I have roaches!!! I don't know why..but I have them. Not to mention when I did move in this place was dirty!!! I don't see how this was ready for move in. If I were an apartment manager I would not let someone move into a place that looked like this. I took pics with a digital camera..just incase.
I don't know if I would recommend this place to someone else. But I would have to say for the money you don't get what you pay for. It isn't worth it. But other then the problems I have mentioned it isn't that bad. Yes, the upstairs people are loud..but it is an apartment, yes it is hard to find some where to park time to time..but it is an apartment. So if you can handle bugs, parking and alittle noise then you should be alright.
The office staff seem to be okay with us. I haven't had a problem. I might be one of the lucky ones. If you want to move here, then fine..if not I am sure there is something nicer for less.

You won't find a better place in this area!
I leased and apartment in the #4 building that faces Beach St. in October of 2003. I absolutely love it and can't believe that there are soo many bad reviews about this property. My icemaker wasn't working the day I moved in and I called about 20mins before the office closed and they actually sent a maintenance man over and he fixed it that night! Granted I sometimes hear my upstairs neighbor walking around but it is the same as hearing squirrels on the roof of a house. Instead of going off of the angry people's opinion of Amesbury on this website, go see an apartment for yourself. I even love the office staff and can't believe that some people have such bad things to say about them. My husband has books delivered every month and neither one of us have ever felt that the staff was anything less than quick to their feet to help us when we come in. The property is as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside!

I like it here
I've been here for a few months now and I have no complaints. The office staff is very nice every time we come in. Work orders are done in a timly manner. Our move in was the best we've ever had. We are very pleased with the property. We give Amesbury 2 thumbs up!! Keep up the great work.

CANNOT WAIT UNTIL LEASE IS UP
this place totally sux - fortunately I only signed a short lease - have 2 more months of crap to put up with - office staff is horrible, property manager is totally pathetic - talks a lot of blah blah but all it amounts to is CRAP and that is all you get from the entire staff at this place - apartments falling apart, gated community now that is a joke and then they say it US who is damaging our cars to get in - just more crap - do yourself a favor and DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE - you will totally regret it once you sign that lease !!

update
Hello everyone! I finally moved out! I was the one who wrote about the copulating neighbors. Once I moved out, the office staff decided not to give my entire deposit back - without a valid explanation. They're really jerks. They really don't give a rat's --- about customer service. Bottomline: this place sucks, baaaaaad! I'm changing my overall rating too EVERYTHING SUCKS! Hey, don't forget to party neighbors!

I have pigeons in my walls!
Yeah, that's right. There are pigeons in my walls. I live on the third floor and the first time I discovered it, a maintenance worker just came and cut a hole in my wall (with a normal razor if that tells you how thin the walls are) got the pigeon out and then sent someone to seal the hole. But did they seal the whole that the pigeons are using to get in to my walls? No, that is why I still have pigeons in my walls.

In the large two bedroom floorplan, the insulation and venting is so bad that the temperature is always either 10 degrees cooler or warmer than the rest of the apartment, depending on the time of year. All they tell me is that it has been a problem in all units of that type and they can't fix it.

There are many more problems mentioned by others that I have had as well as these, such as the gate, the excessive noise, and the staff's inadequacies. I am almost done with my lease, and am getting the h*** out ASAP! I have never paid so much, and recieved so little in an apartment. Run away, run far away!!

Love It
I have lived at Amesbury for almost 2 years now and I absoutley love it. The office staff always treats me great. They take care of my needs in a timely manner. The property always looks very nice. I would recommend Amesbury over any property in Haltom City/Fort Worth.

Looks nice, till you move in!!
I have lived here for over a year now. Thank God my lease is up at the end of this month. The rent just went up to an unthinkable 1080 a month for a 2 bedroom. The buildings insulation is horrible as far as noise and energy efficency go. You can hear your upstairs neihbors cat walking accross the floor its so bad. And dont expect to pay less than 120 for electric a month, and thats being gone for a week with everything turned off, except the a/c, which has to constantly run to keep your house at livable temperatures. Building 9 is falling apart. The foundation on it is washing away, all the walls are cracking, the windows and doors dont shut right. Oh yeah, they just changed water companies too, guess what, they charge more than the previous carrier did. The, so called security gate at the front entrance is always broke. They say its because people hit it. Well if the thing would open right to begin with that wouldnt happen, plus I find it hard to believe that 2 to 3 people a week damage thier car running into this gate. Like I said, they look nice from the outside, but once you move in, you will wish you would have went elsewhere. You can find, newer, nicer, and less troublesome apartments for less a month than here. So, look somewhere else!!!!

Do yourself a favor........DONT LIVE HERE
Well for starters, this place is about as obverpriced as it gets. I still havn´t figured out how they keep the place rented out. Must because of idiots like myself. I couldn´t wait for my lease to get up here. Good thing I already wanted to move because they were upping my rent tremendously. Come on, 800 per month for a 700 sq foot apt. This isnt New York, its Fort Worth. The location couldn´t be any more horid. Need milk, 45 minutes, work, 2 hour commute, go have a beer, 1 hour....do the math. And if this isn´t enough, when I moved out they kept my deposit and tried to charge me another 300 bucks because they "said" the carpet need to be replaced. Well, if they would read my move in checklist they would see the notes I put about the carpet already being stained when I moved in. No worries for me because my lawyer took care of this real quick and they shut their mouths. Oh, they tried to send it to collection 8 months later without notice. Guess they thought they would be sneaky.....again my lawyer made them pay and I got a nice check....ching ching. Please....I beg you....don´t live here. Please spread the word.

Horrible place to live.............
I´ve never seen such a problem with people not having their dogs on a leash. I´ve been attacked by dogs like 6 times. One time a dog even ran inside my car. That is just ridiculous. They need to enforce that leashes are made for a reason. I´m ready for my lease to expire so I can leave. The staff gets rather annoyed if you tell them anything. They´re no help. I recommend not getting an apartment on the 1st or 2nd floor because the noise is too much to bear. I just don´t recommend one living here period.

Office is unhelpful and bothered by you
The builders obviously haven´t heard of a helpful tool, its called a level. The noise level between apartments is really bad. I have lived on the first and second floor and it sounds like the people above have lead feet.

The bug problem is disgusting on the first floor, more than any ohter complex I have lived in. Fire alarms randomly go off in the middle of the night jsut long enough to give you a heart attack.

The office people (all but one) seem genuinely pissed off when you come in and talk to them. They never answer the phone and when they do they dont let you talk, they just say they will have it looked at and hang up.

I went in with a scorpion and 3 worm things in a container that I caught over night (this was on a Saturday morning) and they didnt even look at them, they just said Pest control comes on Tuesday. I was moving in at the time and told them I would NOT continue moving until they fixed it. Worms were coming out of the carpets for crying out loud!
