Crime and security are not handled very well at this complex. Did not feel safe and left early out of my lease even though I would have to pay rent at two complexes. Complex is not clean, garage is not well lighted (many cars broken into and tired stolen). Drug dealers seem to be infesting the place and the low-class people that follow them.

I was followed by a man, and then my car was broken into twice, this has been the most terrible experience, and on top of all this they neglected my complaints. Vanessa is terrible, she just ignored any requests.

This place is poorly managed, there is so many break ins, and issues. My car was broken into twice and management did nothing, the alarm systems go off at all kinds of hours, and after you sign the contract the people in the office change. There are so many other apartments in the area with the same rent rates, explore those they will be safer.

I am a tenant (corporate housing provider) for 3 years now. Last Friday my guests cat went missing she went searching the complex 3 days straight knocking on doors only to find out from her neighbor that the maintenance ------ had picked up the cat and decided to give it away what makes me so disgusted by this place is that everybody in the office including maintenance and managers knows who has the cat but will not tell us the information where the cat is they left me with no choice but to call the police and file a report this is not like money you find on the floor this is somebody's family and I cannot explain to you the devastation this lady is going through ------------ the property manager does not care and will not tell us who has the cat and what she doesn't seem to understand is she's conspiring as a thief I do not feel safe here they are a bunch of liars

Horrible property that doesn't care for the safety, or well being of their tenants... Husband robbed at Gunpoint on a Saturday at 2pm and no functioning cameras or security to help with investigation... Seems to be an on going problem after receiving 911 report..I Will NEVER recommend to future clients. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!

The WORST place, do NOT rent here, even though they do have great deals. That is why!! They trap you! There is mold in the vents and they don't think there is, the AC systems are always having issues. There is NO AC in the elevators or in the halls and no openings to vent air so it smells like trash or pee all the time. There is dog pee and poo all over the hall floors and no one tells whoever to stop or fine them. Bugs, the carpet is super dirty and they think it's clean after telling them to clean it again they still think it doesn't need to be replaced and it does. They are supposed to protect and increase the value for the owners and they are surely causing the property to go down hill. There is always trash all over, the garage has never been power washed so it is sticky to walk in the garage in most spots, it is just plain bad.

It's a very nice property and I have been here for almost 2 years and every time that I need to fix something in my apartment, maintenance do it the very next day, they are fast with that, but definetly I won't recommend to rent here unless you want to get your 4 tires get stolen in the garage, just last night I found 3 cars in the 5th floor which is for visitors without tires, and about 1 month ago, a found another one in the 3 floor. Honestly i think is the people that live there, if you go the gym you can tell what kind of people that they are allowing to live here, they talk and act ------. Management has done anything to fix this, there's no cameras otherwise they would it found who the heck is doing this. I will recommend to live here because is beautiful, clean, good price and its prime location, but safety is a big issue. I'm not sure if I will renew my lease after this incident.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! I will say that overall my bf and I did not hate living here for the most part. You will get ran over in the garage by people driving too fast but still it's manageable. Then the fire alarm issue which happens in the middle of the night to almost all of the apartments for most of the night and day. Of course then there is the a/c leaking conveniently on the wknds when no on site maintenance is on staff and it takes hours and many many calls to get someone to come fix it. If all that was not enough to bother you which for us we still did not hate it, upon move out which we moved out of state we were charged for an entire carpet replacement when we DID NOT HAVE A PET! I was furious and called and pleaded saying what the heck, we didn't own a pet and they said we sent off samples under your carpet and it was urine but apparently there was no way it could have been maybe from the tenants before us (duh!). In addition they said maintenance confirmed we had a rabbit in the apartment, are you kidding me!! I don't know how to take care of a rabbit and my bf would eat the darn thing lol. So do not rent here, you will be great tenants and follow all the rules and get charged for bogus charges upon moveout! STAY AWAY!!!!

I've been here for two years. I love the place and all the staff. yeah there have been break ins and a couple of motorcycles taken but what complex has that never happened at?? if some one can break into a well guarded home that belongs to sanda bullock I'm sure the petty criminals can break into silber.'but I will say they do everything they can to keep people out. maybe the people living here should b more selective on who they bring home...just saying!

I stopped by this location twice, and I'm convinced that the leasing agent either didn't take me seriously or is an idiot. The first time I stopped by, I didn't have much time but I agreed to make an appointment to come back when I didn't need to go straight into work. I got a brochure, gave my contact info and took floor plans of the ones that I was interested in. I called a couple days later, made an appointment with the same person in an attempt to be loyal since I know they make commissions and rushed over after a work appointment. When I got there, she re-introduced herself as if we had never met, acted like she didn't understand what I was asking for, then told me they didn't have any other units available in my range. huh? Wouldn't that have been easier to tell me over the phone when I set the appointment or when I called back and confirmed? She looked at me with a blank stare as I tried to reminder her of who I am then proceeded to leave. Really? Good luck if you're trying to lease here...

BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is not worth the money all kinds of ------ has trickled in. If you like the Katrina Evacuee types this is the place for you. There's a couple that moved in on the first floor by the parking garage they rarely use the front door since they are always hopping their own patio fence. The hallways in this place are always dirty and they take forever to come clean. The construction is very shabby you can feel the people below you walk around bc the whole place shakes. The walls are paper thin I can hear peoples conversations. Summer is fast approaching you can look forward to the people from across I10 (Spring Branch) to come use the pool in hoards of about 6-10 mean while you hear the kids continuously screaming out "papi" and mgt does nothing bc there is no security.

The place looks safe and upscale...that's about it. Cars are broken into every week. People speed through the parking garage. We have ants in our apartment and they haven't resolved the issue yet (3 months of this). Just today, my girlfriend got bitten by one. So we're trying like mad to get ahold of someone to help us with a fire ant infestation, but no response. You hear every neighbor, and if there play music/TV/movie, you here the bass loudly. Front office just says they'll call, do they? I still here the bass equally as before. The law abiding people of this place are quite and often wonder if they live in fear. Because there are a lot of reckless tenants at the Alexan. How does someone that is reckless in life, afford a place like this?!?! Oh, for how much we're spending on rent (and all the other nickel and dimed items they tack onto you) there should be a full time security guard at the gate. Plus cameras everywhere. This is not a safe nor civilized place to stay. I tell my family and friends not to stay here.

I would have to say that my wife and I have been very happy here over the past 4 years. Our apartment has held up well, have not had any problems with neighbors/noise, and most importantly the management in the front office has always treated us like we are VIPs. This is a great location with easy access to I-10, and I dont think you will be disappointed with the decision to move here.

Overpriced and a pain. Nickeled and dimed at every step. Paying too much in rent for the pains of working with the office. Moving out as soon as my lease is up. Avoid if you can. Read the review from 2013 to 2013. Describes the issues more colorfully than I can.

My girlfriend and I have lived here for a year now and can't wait to move out, is the biggest understatement. We hate it here. Absolutely hate it. There is just a ton of reasons not to live, especially since there are so many other options. 1. If you own a pet, you are "threatened" that you're pets DNA will be taken with a cotton swab and retained on file. If you do not pick up after your dogs (i.e. fecal waste), the waste will be collected, examined in a lab and a fine assessed. Every resident that has a pet was required to bring their pet to the office and allow them to swab your pet. What's odd is, a large majortiy do not pick up after thier pets. I've seen waste on the grounds, in the hallways, even on neighbors mats. If you're going to threaten your residents, then follow through! 2. The apartment charges you for valet trash service. It's not an option. If your garbage is not in the properly packaged in the trash can assigned to you by the complex, a photo is taken of the trash and you are assessed a $25 fine. I.e. Say you have a paper grocery bag and you put this outside your door with a couple of trash items. If it's not in a plastic trash bag and in the assigned trash can, you get a fine. Non-negotiable. What we find odd is how many people don't put their trash in the designated cans. Are they paying $25 week or more in fines or does the complex randomly choose when to assess them. 3. Construction quality. When you first look at the apartments, they will seem new, clean, well designed; but look closer. There are tons of little shortcuts in every apartment. Additionally, all of your neighbors, above, below, side by side are all separated only by sheetrock and plywood. The did not separate the floors with concrete. So you can hear every little detail of your neighbor. We've made an uncountable number of complaints that our neighbor comes home at 10:00 pm and begins exercising or something that involves lots of stomping, etc. The neighbor often has tons of friends over on the weekends, grilling out (which we were told we could not do), what sounds like wrestling, normal guy stuff until 2:00 am . We've had to stay at hotel rooms because it's been so loud before. We begged and begged and begged management to do something and every single time they would tell us "well your neighbor said he was gone all weekend, so it couldn't be him...." or "we called and left a message, but we really can't do anything else." Really? At a minimum, maybe offer to move us to another floor? This has been going on for 7 months, if not everyday, then every other day. 4. Management - You're problems and issues, could not possibly mean any less to the management of this facility. I've been unfortunate enough to live in a number of apartments throughout my life. College, Post-College, Ex-wife and now my girlfriend and I can honestly say, I've never seen it quite this bad before. Yes, I realize that apartments are only here to try to make money. You're comfort is not their concern; but without renters, you have no product. Please remember that. For example, we've been one day late on payment, one time in the 12 months we've been here. Every other time was on-time. Again, 1 day late.... The fine was $100. Not $25, like most apartments, not even a "try to be on time next time", $100 and we don't care if you don't like it. Second, we had a package we had been expecting from a carrier (fedex or ups) for sometime. We called weekly asking if it had arrived at the office since we had never seen it. Finally after about 3 months of us asking, someone finally said, oh hear it is. It's been sitting in the wrong spot this whole time.... First, why don't you have a policy to contact the tenant as soon as something arrives? Second, wrong spot? A big box with fedex all over it is not checked to see why it's sitting in the office? Third, their ability to get your maintenance issues fixed is very slow. Our hot water heater was not working long enough for both of us to take showers in the morning before work. We only had enough for one person. We called the complex and no responded. Called again and were told someone would get to it this week. Finally called a few weeks later when we received a trash fine to advise why are we getting fines for trash; but we can't get our hot water heater fixed and then they finally sent someone, roughly 4-5 weeks later. 5. Traffic / Burglary - Two things you can expect when you live here. Cars will be regularly broken into (which I kind of expect with the complex's proximity to I-10) and that everyone will drive at excessive speeds through the grounds and garage. I don't really no what the complex could do about this; but if you have children, you definitely want to be aware. If I had children, they would not be allowed to wander around outside without being in my hand. There's just now way. 6. Directv. If you have diretv, plan on paying extra rent monthly to have your dish. You can't put your dish out as part of your regular lease. Otherwise, Uverse is really the only option. In summary, location great if you're working just about anywhere within the greater houston area. The place is fairly new and has some new ammenities. The pool is nice, the game room is nice, etc. Washer and Dryer in the apartments are really helpful. BUT, you will be fined for going anywhere outside the lease contract at this complex and management will not care about your issues AT ALL. If you still wanna move in, read the contract very carefully ahead of time and be aware of the pitfalls and if you can try to negotiate a decent lease breaking price in case you end up like us. I wish we would have!

I have lived in this apartement complex since July of 2012. When my husband and I first moved in, we were ecstatic! The gym is nice, the pool area is nice, and the apartment themselves are nice. Then a few weeks after we had a notice on our door that there had been a break in around 12 on that week day. A week later, another notice announcing a break in. About 4 months after that he had his truck parked outside and his $600 side view mirror was broken out. Ruining the motor and requring full replacement. Once that happened we started parking ONLY in the garage hoping that would help but, we couldn't help but notice other trucks of similar make and model were missing their mirrors too. About two weeks after that, a Tahoe had ALL FOUR TIRES stripped from their car, sitting up on a stack of bricks. Luckily, our cars haven't been messed with lately but, now the "new" thing is, a bug problem. I am CONSTANTLY seeing bugs in the hallways, and in my apartment. At first it was silverfish - understandable. Then, it was roaches (we had to ASK to be on the Orkin spray list. Apparently it's not standard to be put on that list unless requested. So for 6 months our apartment wasn't being sprayed. Now that, that is finally getting cleaned up let's talk about the mice. My husband and I have seen 3 since moving in. One in the Mail area, one near the trash shoot, and one - the most disgusting one - was in the BBQ PIT in the pool area. I NEVER leave reviews on any sites. And I have lived in 3 different apartments in Houston. This is the most expensive, by far, and the lowest quality. I lived in more "sketchy" areas and never worried about my safety or my car while it's parked in a garage. I hope this review helps some people make a decision before choosing this complex. (and on a side note - if you do choose this complex, you might as well choose the fourth floor, you end up having to park up there if you don't have a paid parking spot anyway.)

After reading the one good honest reveiw that spoke of how previous management did more. I was impressed to see that management must have read and taken to heart the reveiw because within days there has been a community toy drive as well as a fabulous resident party. I attended the party and had a blast! They had a bartender that served wine, great food and the office staff was involved with all the residents throughout the evening. The party was supposes to be over at 8 but several people including myself stayed until after 9pm. I am grateful for the effort that was put forth by the staff to make us feel special and appreciated. I am also very excited that the management took time to put together a toy drive to help the kids in the area. (see attached flier) I truly hope that all these great things will continue to happen monthly. I did speak with the manager and she assured me that there will be more activities for residents and community giving. I will keep everyone updated if she keeps her end of the bargain.

This place is a big scam. When I moved out due to job change, they asked me to pay full amount for the rest of the lease term. Understandable and I paid the full amoount and also the cleaning fee, total of about 3500 dollars. Now 6 months later, they are sending me another a bill for 200 dollars saying I owed them. They will try to extract the last penny out of you. They are day robbers in the name of apartments. STAY AWAY !!!!. I also lost my motorcycle here. The apartment basically said its not their responsibility and did nothing to help or improve the situation. This apartment is basically a nightmare.

I have lived here since they opened. I thought I'd write a review after reading the ones posted here. Things have changed quite a bit since they opened the doors here. The biggest changes seem to be a result of the new management company. The old management had the attitude that the customer, i.e. resident, was always right. Every time I needed something they always gave me a "Sorry! What can we do to make it better." type of response. That management company provided much better amenities such as a company that picked up after resident pets, towels, water and classes in the gym, weekly events in the clubhouse kitchen area, (cooking class, yappy hour for pets, Wine Social, some dinner thing where you could donate to a charity, etc) monthly resident meetings with updates from the security officer about crime on property and how it compared to crime in our area-with tips on how to stay safe and how to contact them if we needed anything. It was really customer centered, even if the majority of residents didn't participate, there was a greater sense that the management cared about the residents and a greater sense of community. ( I know, I pay more attention than most people, but I've been here forever.:)) The new company seems to think that punishing the residents is a better approach. The office staff is always very nice, and responsive if I need something, but there have been a lot of different people working there lately. The maintenance people are always great. My only complaint is not always being notified by the office of packages in a timely manner. Fines, towing, notes about crime, notes around the property about fees and fines are disappointing and the resident events they used to have are rare. (I even heard that the office is testing the dog poop for dna to fine the residents????? I don't think that is a real thing, but if it is, that's crazy - and expensive?) People aren't taking any pride or responsibility for their pets, their parking, their safety, etc because the attitude is to punish the residents into obeying. All this contributes to a bad attitude from all the residents and it's hard to find anyone who is happy living here anymore, even though the property itself hasn't changed and is beautiful with a lot to offer. I love my apartment - the details are awesome- giant closets, granite countertops, crown moulding etc. I work at times that I don't have to deal with traffic. I have a reserved parking space so I don't deal with towing or a long walk to my apartment. (BUT I did have a date come to my house once and they got towed. It was SO embarrassing. Yes, they were parked in a regular space but not on the designated floor for guests) I set my apartment alarm and don't leave my doors unlocked, so I feel safe. (BUT my neighbors car did get stolen from the parking lot a couple years ago ) I expect to hear my neighbors walk around from time to time since they live on top of me. It isn't possible to live in any town of this size, in the middle of everything and NOT deal with traffic during rush hour so that's expected. I can see that the mgmt is trying to remedy the problems with the added security guy, the towing of non-residents for taking up resident spaces, fines for dog poo in the hallways etc, but I just think it's the wrong approach. This really can be a great place to live and has been for me. Apartment living is not perfect but with realistic expectations it can be pretty great. (Where else can you live and have someone else change your lightbulbs, your air filters, mow your lawn, and clean your pool for so little money?) I'm staying! My suggestions, in case anyone who makes any decisions reads this, and cares- QUIT TOWING people at random!!! There is NOTHING positive about that experience. Let a resident call if their assigned space is taken. Everyone knows you get a kickback from the tow company or why else would you randomly tow people and their guests from the parking lot???? Assign parking spaces for each person on a lease (with 5th floor for guests), get those pet pooper scoopers back here, re-designate all that red paint as loading zone with a time limit for people who live far from the garage, (it's not deterring criminals as a fire lane) host events, at least monthly, so that residents have the opportunity to know their neighbors, talk with management and God forbid, enjoy themselves and feel appreciated, invite residents to listen to a local officer discuss the crime here, what they are doing about it, and how we can help ourselves. This is not the management's forte and the wandering security guy apparently is not easing anyone's mind or scaring off would-be criminals. And make all the changes and efforts known to residents so they feel like you care that they pay a lot of money to live here!

My living experience here has been horrible. I loved it at first because the grounds are very nice, but once I started getting towed it was all down hill from there. Then I paid attention to my paper thin walls and the loud tenants on the other side of them. True story: my neighbor played and sang (badly) to Guitar Hero all night one night the evening before I had an important business meeting. Then they left their alarm on every morning for weeks while they traveled (I'm guessing). A loud boombox alarm that blared every morning for hours starting at 6AM. I was exhausted, filed a complaint with management in person and they never actually did anything about it. I'm seeing this is common now, too. The reviews about the traffic I've seen are dead-on, and I have no clue how anyone could say different about this place because it's obvious. If you don't mind creepy, unguarded hallways filled with dog poop, loud and rude tenants, and getting towed because the parking is a disaster, then this is the place for you.

I love my apartment I think that there is one angry person that is continuing to write negative reviews because they have nothing better to do with their time. I was approached by a staff member that told me to give a honest review about my experience after living here for over a year. I personally have nothing negative to say. After taking a few minutes to read all the post I feel sorry for anyone having a bad time but maybe they should follow the rules and their life would be better. No matter where you are there are always rules put into place for a reason I might not always understand why the rules are the way they are but in order for me to have a peaceful life I just follow whatever rules/boundaries that are in place.

Alexan Silber has been a good fun property to live at!! I moved from out of town with another girlfriend and we have had the time of our life!! We work for an Oil and Gas Company (not free to disclose where) but within 10 miles of Alexan Silber. We are very fun happy girls that just love life and are not sure why people complain about things that can't be changed. Good Luck to all but as for us we love our home!

Me and some friends went out to Washington to a couple of bars and took a cab both ways. $10 each way and 10 minutes. We would spend more than that for parking on Washington and then have to worry about drinking too much. For a single person or a couple that likes to go out, this place makes taking a cab really easy and cheap.

Have seen the reviews of this place lately as I consider a move and wanted to set one record straight: the traffic really is pretty bad here. I'm attaching pictures so people can see for themselves. It's really common sense if you look at a map though. This complex resides on the old 7777 Katy Freeway car dealership lot and the design of the place kinda makes sense when you consider this. It used to have a semi-famous jingle "7777 Katy Freeway..." and if you ever travel by here, it's obviously right off the I10 almost exactly where it merges with the 610 North and South. These are major veins of the city, and they do get very congested in morning traffic. This is not the fault of the complex, but to anyone who finds traffic frustrating, it is something you should consider. I do think it's about as bad as it can get especially on the 610 service road, which is the only real path a person can take heading south out of the apartment. You can try to avoid the service road by taking Silber and turning on to Memorial, but the route is really no better because the entire area gets congested. Post Oak gets bogged down by the morning traffic turning into the Houstonian, so there really is no way to avoid the service road before you can get on the 610 which unfortunately is down past Woodway. In morning traffic, that trek can take you a solid 20-30 minutes just to get there, too. And if you try to head west on the I10 to head south down Chimey Rock or something, that won't work for you either. Again, the entire area gets jammed up. You also can't get directly on the 610S from this place without backtracking because it is just far enough down the I10 service road, just off the Silber ramp, to miss any entrances to the 610. So you're really stuck using the service road, trying your luck down Memorial, or backtracking which costs you time no matter how you try to change it up. It's a nice place, but it certainly has its problems. So I will speak up about the comments on the traffic because I think people should know how bad it is. I would not have moved here if I did my homework about this particular problem better, so consider this a friendly warning. Please note that my pictures were taken at 9:00 AM and I'm heading south down the service road. Notice I'm a ways back in the traffic line, but there was still a long line of cars behind me. It took me 35 minutes to get to work that morning and I work in the Galleria. If the traffic were not so thick in this area, which it always is especially when an accident happens, then I could get to my work parking garage in about 10 minutes which is usually how it is on a Sunday afternoon.

I lived here for a year. 2011-2012. I would never recommend anyone living here. Woke up the second week living here to the truck next to my vehicle on blocks and windows were smashed out. Luckily it was not my vehicle but I did not feel safe beyond that point. There is no place that's not disgusting to walk your dog.. There is animal feceis throughout the hallways that never get picked up. They will send you an eviction notice a day later if you miss pay your rent by 8 cents. There is no security except for the towing company that walks through the giant obnoxious parking garage just to find cars to tow... Mostly they tow your guests which makes you seem like a great host if they just so happen to park in the wrong spot. I had my car towed for being one spot off on the wrong floor. The towing place doesn't open till 8am in SUGARLAND... Which is no where near this apartment complex. $218 is what it costs to get your car out. But the icing on top of the cake is waking up one morning to a strange man in my entry way clearly ready to ran sack my place and expected nobody to be home at 8am I guess... The would be thief quickly ran away in his close by get away vehicle. Nothing was ever resolved from any of the incidents I described above. I would never feel safe here nor my belongings. Random people who clearly don't live here use the pool on the weekends. There is no place to unload your vehicle ex groceries.. Large items... Because if you leave your vehicle unattended outside they will surely tow you. I lived on the first floor on the pool courtyard.. I would be sitting down in my living room or trying to sleep and it sounded like a herd of elephants lived above me... It got to be rediculous. I just had bad experience after bad experience here. And after talking to other occupants it seemed to happen to everyone... I had one couple tell me that the day they moved in because they had not put their parking sticker on their cars yet .. Both their vehicles were towed and they had no way of retrieving their vehicles from the towing place in SUGARLAND cause both cars were towed.. Talk about welcome to the neighborhood. This same couple had their used running shoes stolen from their front door later that week. I hope this helps anyone trying to make a decision on where to live because this is NOT the place to live.
