The staff is personable and never hesitates to help the residents with whatever it is such as: carrying groceries to your door to just the simple "how are you today" while walking by. Everyone in the community has a smile on their face and the complex is beautiful and at a fair price!

Although I love the area, being close to surrounding areas, I am not satisfied with these apartments at all. The rent is extremely too high, the water bill is just ridiculous and maintenance is horrible. For the amount of money that I pay, I would like for things to be fixed in decency and not patched up. The mold inside the house is terrible as well. Even though they may attempt to power wash, the hallways look terrible. I am sometimes embarrassed to invite friends over. The staff is friendly, and I know that the staff is just working for the company. I am just disappointed. Recently, I just found out that Section 8 is offered out here as well. Definitely not trying to judge anyone, but I feel as if we all should pay a sufficient amount.

The initial staff were friendly and concerned. There has been an almost complete turnover - so you do the math... The keyfob to access the gym after hours hasn't worked ever. the fees and rent rises yearly. the value for what we use - doesn't add up.

Due to limited space, I feel this apartment does not meet my family settings. Many military are here on the grounds but they may have their complaints too.So one from Corporate need to relook at the way pets are allowed to be on the porch unprotected without a screens.

The best apartment in the area! It so close to Suffolk, Newport News, Chesapeake and Norfolk. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly and the amenities are awesome. I have 2 dogs that I was worried about having in an apartment and they love it here. Maintenance is always fast and efficient.

Overall I have been content with our rental. I have had some maintenance issues like problems with cable coax ports not working, calling fans going out, patch work on walls were lazily done. Mostly minor however its my home for the time being and I'd like it all to work and be nice for the amount of money we spend.

Nothing but good things to say about every aspect of our lease. Everyone is very friendly at the leasing office and always meet our needs. They go beyond their duties to make us feel welcome and offer extra assistance. We are first time apartment dwellers so the transition was smooth. We rarely hear noise. Maintence personnel are always quick to serve us and friendly. We feel safe and secure. I love that the pool stayed open til 8pm this past summer. We hope that doesn't change. It would be nice if it stayed open til 9pm. Generally, the people who own pets are respectful of other people and pets.

I love where I live. The management is great. Anything ever needed worked on or replaced was taken care of ASAP. We renewed our lease because of the people who work there and the friends we have made. The newer apartments are so pretty!!

Eagle Harbor is a great place to live. It's a nice neighborhood, the staff is friendly, and its a great value for everything that you get. I also have a pet and the community is very nice for pets. There is a small dog park, several potty-stations, and plenty of places to walk the dog.

I absolutely love Eagle Harbor. I really do feel that this is one of the nicest apartment complexes I have lived in. I live in a one bedroom/ 1 bath, and it is a very decently sized apartment. It is nice to have a washer and dryer already in the unit, in an actual room (not a small closet). There is crown molding, which makes the apartment look great; the bathroom is big, with a garden tub. If you have any kind of problem, maintenance is there that day to fix it. I had a bug problem once, and they had some company come out and spray about 2 days after I called. It is very quiet, I hardly ever hear my neighbors, and when I do it is usually just the larger woman who lives above me. The front office is very nice and the actually care about their tenants. The only things that somewhat bother me are the people who do not clean up after their dogs (but that s any apartment complex), and the children who climb all over the bricks outside of the complex. Oh, and the fact the AC/heat unit is right outside of the bedroom window. If noise bothers you when you sleep, that will be a major issue for you if you re on the first floor. The rent may seem kind of pricey, but remember that your NOT in the ------! Not even close to it. You will also get a lot of extras worked into the rent that you will not get at any other apartment complex in Hampton Roads.

If you enjoy noisey neighbors, kids stomping in the hallways, useless security, and managment that isn't very helpfull all while spending a lot of money then this is the place to live. I love coming home to here kids stomping and slamming doors in the hallways, and it gets even better when the people above us stomp all day and night so bad that our light fixtures shake. I've lived in some rough places but this place is worse then section 8 apartments. I would move out in a heartbeat but breaking your lease here is about 5k. On the bright side tho this has made me realize that I will never live in another apartment ever again

I moved to Virginia from...
I moved to Virginia from out of state and these are the some of the best apartments we saw. We saw the apartment and immediately signed our lease. We've been here for almost a year and have even renewed our lease for a three bedroom apartment. And very excited to move into the phase two apartments. The biggest downfall to me is typical apartment problems, a noise neighbor. If the neighbor kept the bass lower it would be almost perfect especially since I have a two month old that fights sleep enough as it is. Overall we are extremely happy and have even recommend these apartments to friends.

There are some great...
There are some great pros and a few cons to living her. The apartment offers GREAT amenities like a dog run, pool, gym, trash service and paid internet and TV along with other services. It is also wonderful to be living so close to a shopping center with a grocery store. The apartment staff is friendly and caring. It feels good to have staff that knows you by name and really cares about your living experience. Our only con is the noise level of our neighbors above but the staff has been on top of handling it. This is a great place to live.

I have lived here for almost 4 years and have become increasingly disappointed. Since about a year and a half ago, when they had MANY vacant apartments, it seems they have lowered their credit requirements and it shows in the demographics of the new tenants and their behavior. The office staff is mediocre at best and disinterested at worst. A previous reviewer mentioned the grills and I can attest that for years they have been in disrepair and when you complain they just patch them together with more chewing gum and duct tape. Since opening the new annex, the rules regarding children's behavior and parental supervision seem to have been thrown out in favor of profit margin. Maintenance has always done it's best but is still at the mercy of the management of the complex, who always is ready to give assurances that it's being addressed when actually it's on the back burner. It seems to get any attention, you have to contact Breeden. When I first moved in here, this was the next best thing to a gated community. Now it's just another apartment complex. It has gone steadily downhill ever since while the already exorbitant rent has continued to increase. If I could find something comparable on this side of the river, I would move IN A HEARTBEAT!

I have lived here for nearly 5 years and it has been a good place to live. I have never had any problems with the maintenance staff or management. It is a bit pricey to live here, but I have found it to be worth it during my stay. There seems to be a mix of military families, college students, and law enforcement personnel who live here. It is typically a quiet community and I have felt very safe and comfortable living here. Road noise from the heavily-traveled Carrollton Blvd (Rte 17) could be a slight issue to be dealt with if you face that road. In the time that I have been here, I have never had an encounter with bugs in my apartment. At times, the mosquitoes are a bit annoying, but that is only for a brief few weeks. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

Do not live here. This place has the worst apartment contract. If you need to go month to month, they will charge you over $300 per month and you will still have to give a two months notice to cancel. You still have to give a two months notice to cancel when your contract is up. I am currently going month to month on a two bedroom apartment and its close to $1500 per month. That is CRAZY! When I first moved here, I went to my new apartment. It was the nastiest apartment I have ever seen. Cat hair was all over the floor and floor boards, the walls and ceilings were dirty, and it smelled like old cigaretts and cats. I was so mad. My fiance actually cried because we both didn't want to live here, but we had no other place to live. I immediately went to the office and demanded a new apartment. Looking back, I wish I would of got a hotel and found a nicer and cheaper apartment in Suffolk or Chesapeake. The staff is very rude. They are only nice when you come in to look at the apartments. The maintanence workers come in your apt every month to fix these cheap places. My first red flag when I looked at this place was how empty this place is. People are constantly moving out and not in. I am really scared to move out because my apartment previously had a small stain on the carpet. I feel like when I move out, their going to put the blame on me and make me pay for new carpet. I just cannot wait until I am out of here. Its horrible. Some of these reviews are true. The ones that made the apartment sound good are people that work for the company. If you don't care about wasting your money every month on overprised rent to live in a horrible place, then live here.

My personal experience
We have lived here about 7 months and we also have has maintenance almost every month and never does anything so it must be that they are looking for something else..who knows My fiancee also sleeps during the day so that is frustrating. Also we have only been here 8 months and they are already upping our rent by almost 100.00. I have never heard of any of this. Just seems like an invasion of privacy. The office staff seemed to be helpful and the maintenance is quick and I would know becaise I have had to call several times. The dryer still does not dry, I have to run it twice. They have been out 2 to 3 times for that. Now they are getting a phase 2--I dont know how much longer I will be here. I do like smaller communities. Guess I will just have to see! Good luck to everyone!

Better than most in Hampton Roads
I currently live here and have been here for about 3 months. I have to agree with the last review. The maintenance seem to do "preventative maintenance checks every other month. I have been here 3 months and they have done it 3 times. Once when we first moved in and twice after we have moved in. My boyfriend who works at night and sleeps during the day is woken up every time. Also, 7 days a week 12 hour shifts so its a bit frustrating. Also, they never replace anything so I feel it is just an excuse. I have lived in many apartments and usually cannot get maintenance to come out at all. You do not have to worry about that here. If you have any problems and I have had many, they respons really fast. Unfortunatley, nothing was ever fixed but they seem to care about trying to take care of it so that says all to me. The grills do not seem to be maintained because they do not work properly. YOu can cook on them but you dont get that great of a flame. The office staff has been great and the grounds are nicely kept. It is nice to be away from the hustle and bustle, yet still close to shops and Hampton Roads. Also seems to be pretty safe! Good luck with your search!

Great apartment but some issues...
I lived in Eagle Harbor for 9 months and it was a really great apartment. The heat and A/C are great, the wireless was nice and our view of the pool was fabulous. The staff was okay...certain ones are nicer than others. My major complaint was that the maintenance people are in your apartment WAY too much. They come stick a note on your door (hello...e-mail? Save some paper...)and say they will be in your apartment between 9/12 and 9/15 and then they don't even show up. We used to mark our air filter and they never changed it. Also, it's "pet friendly" but you have to lock your pet up whenever they feel like coming in your apartment to "inspect for the fire marshall" or "change out your wireless router" (which never actually happened.) I'd suggest this apartment to others because it was nice and we enjoyed living there but they really need to get with the times with e-mail and give you specific dates they will be dropping in your apartment.
