The apartment overall is nice, peaceful and pretty, the downsize is that it has no pool and they did not clean the whole apt before I moved in and is been 7 days and I have still seen anybody come and fix the issue.

The apartment building and parking garage feel safe. Rent is expensive but it is a new apartment building and has a good atmosphere. The parking garage is great, especially in winter. Drive carefully in it. Jimmy John's and a new barbershop are conveniently located in the retail spaces.

Just moved in, but it seems really nice. Located close to a lot of stores, as well as the gate to Ft Belvoir. The gym is great, staff is nice, and neighbors are quiet. The only downside is they use Cox internet, which has pretty terrible customer service and prices.

We are almost done with our first lease at Belvoir Square Apartments and we will not be renewing next year. -Parking is "fairly secure". You need a remote to get into the garage. The lease says to report if you notice other cars getting in behind someone who has a remote, but literally everyone does it. I had another tenant honk at me to move when I waited my turn to enter the garage so they could get in too. We also had a tenant in front of us ask us to use our remote so they could get in because they forgot theirs. There is a tow truck that tows cars away if they don't have a parking sticker which is only obtained by registering with the office. When we first got here, we listed we didn't have a car but that we are looking. No one gave us a sticker or temporary pass. Did they think we wouldn't even rent a car? Idk, they never asked us. We did borrow a friends car and it was towed after day 2 or 3. We had to Uber to the lot and pay to have it released. Max tried to help us get it credited back to our account since it technically wasn't our fault, but Chrystal only credited a portion to it. Max also made sure to put our guest pass in our mailbox so that it was there when we got back from the lot. Max no longer works here unfortunately. We absolutely miss him. Other than that, parking is secure. No weird people hanging around or making you feel unsafe. Do NOT pay for reserved parking: there's no point. Reserved parking is only 4 spaces on ever corner of the garage. This means, There is the door into the building at the corner and 2 spaces left and 2 spaces right. You can park in the 3rd or 4th space from the door and save like $25 a month. They won't tell you this when you sign your lease. Last thing for parking: there was a power outage once and the garage was PITCH BLACK. There are zero emergency lights in there and if it wasn't for auto start on our remote, I wouldn't have left my apartment. Elevators: Most of the time, it's clean and smells nice. Sometimes you'll find dog pee on the floor or it will smell heavily or body odor if you take the one by the gym or a service elevator after someone is moving in/out. Apartment: We can't lie, it's one of the nicest and newest in the area. The ceilings are decent compared to many low ceiling apartments nearby (very difficult if you're tall or have tall furniture). The floor plan is large unlike many that are narrow and cramped. Appliances are nice, but they're small. Washer/dryer is stacked but is still somehow called a "full". If you have more than 2 people you'll probably do laundry a lot throughout the week. The outlets in the kitchen keep turning off for some reason so you'll have to hit "reset" every now and then. We still don't know why, but it's not a big deal. Some stove coils are also kind of slanted so if you're cooking in a little bit of oil or sauce, it might just move to one side of the pan. It's weird but we just figured we'd mention it. Lights: They have a bunch of light switches that don't do anything. It's clear that when it was built, they made places for ceiling lights, but the apartment just didn't pay for it. You can see caps on the places I'm talking about and I'm sure one of the switches is connected to it. They do walkthroughs during the day so you don't notice how little light there is in the bedrooms/den. We had to buy lamps the first week. Summary: 3 light switches in our bedroom; 1 goes to a non existent ceiling light, 1 goes to nothing, and the 1 goes to the top part of one outlet in a room that has 5 outlets. It's ridiculous. We made the smart idea to plug the lamp into the one outlet triggered by the only working light switch in the room. Neighbors below us: When we first moved in, we immediately received a letter from downstairs explaining how much noise they can hear as we walk through the apartment and settle in. We took it upon ourselves to be as quiet as possible since then and have not received any other complaints. Neighbors above us: It seems there has been a few changes in tenants above us in the time we have been at this apartment (Only a few months). We have heard noises intermittently and at some points, very loudly while they are cleaning out their apartment. Unfortunately, the most recent tenants who have moved in have made living in our unit unbearable. Regardless of our complaints to management, it has not changed the level of noise. We believe that the "soundproof" statement that was made when we initially signed our lease was only in regards to the walls and definitely not an indication of the floor/ceiling situation. The noise also happens in the middle of the night so don't even think about a good night's sleep if you have inconsiderate neighbors. Neighbors on our floor: For the most part, everyone on our level is quiet. We rarely ever heard neighbors through our walls. However, there are young children whose parents allow them to run down the hall almost every day and they are often heard screaming as they stomp down the hall. Other neighbors near us also seem to be smoking marijuana. The stench is often noticeable on Friday-Sunday and has only been addressed by management once. We were told that it would be looked into, but seeing as it is still occurring, we don't think any action has been taken. We called emergency maintenance once when our AC went down and received no call back. (This was during a heat wave when we were hitting 90?+). It wasn't until the next day when we put in a request through the online portal that maintenance came in to check on it for us. They were able to help cool down our apartment not long after we submitted the electronic request. Our poor puppy suffered with his thick coat all night. Our apartment is on the trash pickup side of the building. On this side, we have often heard the garbage truck emptying the bins and the workers flushing out/scraping the bins. It can get loud so don't try to sleep in either. This side of the building will often get foot traffic since there is parking, a small dog play area, and benches. Because of this, we have often heard people talking to each other, phone calls being made, and music from cars. This is with all doors/windows closed and normal noise within our own apartment (TV/music/conversation). It's quite strange to ask someone in the room if they accidentally dialed a number because you can hear it ringing only to find out that someone outside is making a call. We aren't even located on the first floor. We have taken our dog for walks and always notice feces left by other dog owners. While having poop bags and trash cans available on every corner is helpful for responsible pet parents, it isn't enough to enforce cleaning up after. We've noticed at other properties, they do DNA testing so that any feces that is found left behind could be tracked down to the individual pet and tenants are held accountable. Implementing something like this is more likely to enforce these rules. We'd hate to have to deal with the DNA testing when we move in, but I'm sure it makes a big difference. It would be incredibly helpful if management gave new tenants an idea of floor/ceiling noise. Tenants would greatly appreciate being notified of a tenant moving in/out above them as this greatly impacts their quiet enjoyment as well as their quality of life. This is coming from someone who has been working from home and dealing with noise while trying to conduct virtual meetings. Considering the state of the world right now, Belvoir Square can expect to have more work-from-home tenants. There has been many occasions when we've noticed mail just sitting outside of the front office during the pandemic. While yes, they should take all precautions to protect themselves, the mail could easily be picked up by anyone else (especially if it is at night when the office is closed and mail is still outside). Not to mention it is mostly large boxes which probably contain expensive stuff like workout equipment or TVs. Mail is also misdelivered sometimes. You can walk into the mailroom any day and see mail left out from other tenants who got someone else's stuff. We once had a tracking number say "delivered" but never got a code to open our locker. We eventually asked management and someone I never saw before opened every locker to help me find it. We found it, but that wasn't very secure. They offer storage in the apartment which is helpful but it can bleed you dry financially after all the other expenses. We moved our stuff into the extra bathroom and saved $150/month. They made us pay for the half-month we used at the beginning, and then each month we used after. On the last week we used it, we still paid for the whole month and didn't get a credit for the days we didn't use. Management changed 3 times in just our time here, that doesn't look good from a tenants perspective. Some things we liked: it's close to many things. You can get to a lot of restaurants easily as well as grocery stores like wegmans. There is a REX bus stop out front which is probably very useful for people who take public transportation. It is right across from the Fort Belvoir Tulley gate which is open most of the time. Overall, we are looking for a house and won't ever rent an apartment in this area.

I've only been here for less than a month but the staff has been responsive with the issues I've had. Only had two so far, one minor (I could feel the carpet tacks at the transitions between rooms and then a cockroach pest problem.

Great, just no other way to explain it. A little disappointed we haven't been able to use the gym and other common areas, however it understandable these days with the pandemic social distancing restrictions

There is room for improvement. Lots of billing issues that need to be worked out since the new management took over. Each month we have had a billing issue. Our rent was even posted to the wrong tenant's account. Each month there are these so called "catch up" utility billings, etc. Like when are things going to get better? If it wasnt for us working on Fort Belvoir and wanting to be close to base we would not be here past 1 year.

Belvoir square is conveniently located for commute to fort Belvoir and surrounding areas. It is expensive when utilities, parking and trash is included. The facility is secure and accessible with your FOB. The staff has generally been responsive, especially the previous staff and management more friendly it seems. Trash pick up is inconsistent. In the nearly year that I've paid for trash pick up I cannot recall one time they have actually picked up my refuse.

Nice Facility, good air quality, clean, better than other apartment is this area. Not much interior space. This is the most expensive apartment in this area, but everything functions up to standard, this includes AC, Water, Washer Dryer. This is one of the very few apartments in this area where everything functions up to standard. The extra 100-200 dollars I pay a month is worth it in comparison to other apartments. The other apartments in Northern Virginia are also very expensive, but they are substandard facilities --don't let the high prices fool you. They only look good on the outside, have lots of maintenance problems.

Experience thus far has been ok not too bad or good. When signing my lease it would’ve been nice if management would’ve honored the advertisement on the app I found this place on. There were a few discrepancies that they did not honor nor consider honoring. On the app it stated parking was included in the rent and apparently it’s $25 more, it would’ve been nice for that to be honored because that was a big reason I decided to rent here and spend 100 over my budget. Furthermore the leasing agent didn’t accommodate the fact that I traveled with my grandfather who has dementia and was clearly elderly and harmless and she didn’t allow him to come along for our tour because he no longer has a license because he doesn’t drive due to his ailment. My ultimate reason for renting here was because of the convenience to my drive to work. If it was solely based on customer service this wouldnt have been my first choice. So far the experience has been fair.

I have not had a great experience with this apartment complex. Last week I placed a service request on the website for issues that I was having with the water temperature. The showers went cold as my spouse and I used them 10 minutes apart. The completed service stated adjusted thermostat and replaced heat element, However the water is still cold. Ideal temperature is 112 degrees Fahrenheit this temperature is enough to wash away environmental dirt and bacteria. Hot water from the tap can get as hot as 140 degrees Fahrenheit and that's too hot, according to many doctors. I don't think this temp is even close to the ideal temperature to kill germs or any bacteria.

Very enjoyable staff was great, apartment is very well maintained, responsiveness has been extremely efficient. I would like to see something started in the leased retail spaces and be kept up to date of the status of what is possibly going to be developed down there. Other than that, so far these apartments have been very nice and the community seems to be very nice at this time.

This place is amazing, inside and out. The staff was knowledgeable about the property from the time I walked in for the tour, to the leasing process and move-in. This place is quiet, secure and in a great location in reference to Fort Belvoir, I-95, and Washington D.C. There parking garage is incredibly convenient too! I would highly recommend this place to anyone moving to this area.

If you really want someone to take time to complete a survey do not make a character count mandatory or make it skip able. I like living here, but do not like filling out a kind of survey such as this part with a required character count.
