Feels like home!
I am not sure what all of these bad reviews are about! I have lived here for over 3 years and I have never come across any issue's like this! I just found out about this website becuase I wanted to post a comment about how great this place is...and I log on to find all of these comments that I am sure have been blown up! This is by far the BEST apartment that I have ever lived in. The staff is great and they make it feel like a close community. The apartments are taken great care of and any issue I have EVER had has always been taken care of right away. I Love these apartments...in fact they feel more like a home than an apartment!

Assistant Manager Responds:
This is in response to JCHERNOV . You moved out of here March of 2006. Obviously you have a lot of time on your hands to try and bring this all back up. But I would like to state the facts: First of all, the incident at the pool was handled by police; the residents were not Native americans, one was African american the other was Caucasian. These resident were military personel, but had certainly not come back from Iraq. Reguardless, military or not, they were told by police that they were distubing the peace, and they were completely insubordinate with the officer, and that is the ONLY reason they were kicked out. You obviously do not understand the definition of racism. When your air conditioning went out, you were given a concession that took care of the time that the air conditioning was out. That was at your request. You stayed elsewhere and as soon as we got it fixed you were back in the apartment. As far as your Black Mold , people die from it! If there is ever mold in an apartment, it is because water has been sitting and not dried out. If the office staff is not told that there is any problem, how is the issue supposed to be fixed? You stated the Mold was found upon your move out . Why did you not say anything or have any work orders done for the issue, if you infact were concerned about mold while you were living in the apartment for 2 years? That is why we have a Mold Addendum, letting any resident know that at any time if there is any indication of a mildew issue, or water leak they are to notify the office immediately, it is an emergency. The painting contractor that we have use a chemical that is called Kilz for any issues involving moisture, which they do Paint on or spray on . It is Arizona law that an apartment has to be painted once the tenant moves out. There were no charges involving anything with mold or mildew in your apartment. The only charges that came out of your deposit were standard cleaning charges for a dirty apartment! As far as the issues with the cars: We have talked to the local police department. They advised us that Arizona is top 5 in the country for stolen vehicles. We did send out letters to all of our residents stating the issue. We received phone calls back, some thanking us for the concern, others upset that this is happening in our community. Believe me, we undestand. I drove a 1995 white Honda Accord that was stolen from this parking lot when I lived here, wasn t happy about it, but I knew that I had everything possible to avoid it. I had a Viper alarm, and it did not stop them. If you have not seen the cameras you need to look up when you drive in. They re there. We do have cameras at both entrances in the front parking lot. As well as cameras for all of our ammenities. We will be installing cameras at the East gate this year. Our recommendation is to take the necessary precautions; lock your car doors, invest in an alarm, and be aware of any suspiscious activity in the parking lots and notify the office. We have had a great response from many of our residents calling and letting us know if they see something out of the ordinary. We encourage this, we are only acting as a community by doing so, and helping out our neighbors. Other than that, we do not control the actions made by others. We can only hope that in the event that someone s car is broken into or stolen, the person who s done it is caught so they may not continue to do so. The standards for renting here have actually increased over the last 2 years, and everyone that lives here qualifies by the exact same Criteria as the next. We do not rent to any TYPE of person/people . I m sorry that you feel that way. I hope that whoever reads this understands that there are always two sides to the story. I have worked here for almost 3 years, and lived here almost a year before ever becoming apart of the staff, and Sonoma Ridge is a great community! We have great residents, our location is excellent, and we have lots to offer our residents with amenities! Please, if you are reading this and deciding whether or not you want to consider living here, stop by and meet the staff, see the beautiful community and decide for your self! Not very caring about vehicles being stolen or broken into...
Had my vehicle window smashed, dash trashed, stereo and GPS stolen. The response is they will put up flyers on everyone's doors??? Know of two other vehicles stolen and a third broken into recently and that was there reaction then also. Don't seem top be interested in security in the parking lot. Other owners asked for cameras at the gates, nothing done..... Big difference in the type of people renting here in the last three years. Lowering their standards.

This place is PERFECT
Sonoma is by far the best place to live. Within one day any maintenance problem or complient we have ever had has been fixed! The staff is friendly and it is a small close knit community. The apartments are beautiful, they throughoughly clean each one before move in and they all look brand new! This community is safe, quiet, well kept, and family oriented. You will make a mistake if you do not live here!

I love where I live!
I really love where I live.... I moved in from out of state last year. I was very unsure coming to a state that I did not know and was not comfortable with. I was not able to see the apartments before I moved down here. I had to trust that what I was told by the office was true.... Indeed it was! When someone tells you that they have a "Very quiet" community you think, okay, on Sundays between 7-12am..... Sonoma Ridge is a VERY QUIET community!! Really, you can walk out at 6pm on a Friday or Saturday afternoon and it will be so quiet. I was so happy with my apartment when I moved in!! It was beautiful!!! I asked to see the model before I got the keys to my new apartment, and my apartment looked just like the model...(Without the furniture obviously) Every time I need something maintenance related the office is so helpful and my requests are taken care of immidiately! I really like my neighbors..... I can barely hear my upstairs neighbors.. aside from the water running from upstairs. I am very happy with my apartment and I would recommend this community to anyone that I cared about and would want a quiet, beautiful home like I have.

Good place to live but has security problems
I have lived here for 2 years now. I enjoy the place, have no real issues with it except security. The rent is a bit high and the parking has issues but the apartments are nice and when there is a problem it is promptly fixed. 2 weeks after moving in, my motorcycle was stolen from the complex and last week my car was stolen. The managers of the apartments have little or no sympathy and believe it is not their responsibility in any way. We have asked for gate cameras and there is a camera that covers 2 of the gates but you can't see anything on it and there is a third gate completely uncovered. The security staff is a joke and cars leave the lot here at an alarming rate.

So far so GREAT
My fiance and I moved into the larger 1-bedroom in mid-September. We moved from out of state, and Marissa in the office was super helpful. The complex is always clean (except some people don't pick up after their pets, but I guess that is to be expected in a pet-friendly complex). I feel like I'm at a vacation resort when I'm at the pool/jacuzzi area. There are always PLENTY of guest parking spots, that has not been an issue once (although the location of your one assigned spot seems very illogical and random). So far my fiance and I are loving it here, friendly office personnel, clean grounds, safe neighborhood and awesome neighbors.
I would definitely recommend Sonoma Ridge to my friends and family!
The only negative I have is that only two weeks after moving here our car got broken into. It's a "controlled-access" community, and the neighbors who have been here for a few years said it's never happened before...BUT our car and 6 other cars got hit in one night here. Other than that, everything has been above my expectations.

One of the better complexes I've lived in
The area is very quiet, I've only been woken up a few times by neighbors, but it was when they were doing some kind of redecorating downstairs (it was during regular mon-fri 9-5 hours, though.) The complex is kept clean, and I don't see strangers walking around the premises. I've had solicitors once and it was within the first week I moved in, and I called the complex security and they took care of it immediately. I love living here, and it's nice to feel safe in the area you live in.

"Nobody told me it was the Ritz!"
9246...it's not even the right address!
2 years and still going strong, I have no intention of moving anytime soon. I moved in here expecting that there may be a turnover in office and maintenance staff- it happens in ANY job..duh! I also expected things to break in my apartment, because that's a fact of life. I also realize that an apartment complex does not have the protective powers to block car theives from breaking into my car if they wanted to. So if you have common sense, but you don't have the means to own your own home, and you have seen the difference between luxury and non-luxury apartments. Then this place will be a piece of heaven. If you beg to differ, go spend some time living in south Phoenix. I have had nothing but a positive experience living here and I would recommend this place to anybody.

I love my apartment
I am just moving into Sonoma Ridge and I ignored the comments that I had seen on here and discovered for myself that the community was great! I went in and saw the models and they were beautiful! My apartment is great, I love it! The office staff is so friendly and helpful! I would recommend this to anyone!!!

Dont move here
I have been here for a year and a half. I moved in to this complex when the management was wonderful. Since then the management has changed twice. Now there is a horrible manager in charge. She does not work weekends so if you have any complaints she is not available to talk to. If you have a complaint about anything going on in the complex, they all blame each other. There has been a change in the maintenance crew twice since I have been here. There are two nice maintenance guys the others appear to be sort of scary. I am uncomfortable when I see them. For a place that claims to be upscale I have an expectation of professionalism in all ways....including the way the management looks and acts. Unfortunately there are management people that do not act professional on a regular basis. There was security that checked the place at night. However the company has changed and their hours have changed so they are no longer around through out the night. If you are looking for a place to live you might check anywhere but here first. Just a warning...I can't wait until my lease is up. I have lived in many complexes through out the valley this is the first negative opinion I have ever had about a complex. For the money move somewhere else. I have also spoken with other tenants that have been here as long as I and they totally agree with my opinion of the place.
