Stay away from Camelback Cove Apartments!
I lived there for 4 years. When I told them I was purchasing a home, and I gave them my 30 day notice and signed their form. I paid my June rent and asked that if be applied to my contract that I was breaking, I moved out June 11 2010. They said yes, and I told them I was turning in my keys in the drop box. They were fine. When I left and got moved into my new home, I got a bill for $1000.00 They kept my June rent and didnt apply to my breaking of the lesase. They said I didnt move out until July! That is such a lie! The manager knew I moved out and what was going on. The manager will screw you over anytime she gets a chance. The place is out dated, has roaches, the Jacuzzi is always closed. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors and when they close their door your building shakes!! People working on cars in the parking lot and it just a mess. Then you have the strip joint next door. The drunks come over to the back lot to break in your car, or fight. Oh and they are drugs being sold in the complex, the police are always there. I would just stay away!

Imitators Managers and leasing agents trying to be citizens of the world.
I moved there in early 2005 and I saw just some of the things wrong with it such as drug dealers who were selling at my neighbors door at night it was so obvious this is when Danielle was the manager of the property before Maxx property took it over and there was another girl who was the assistant who was knock-up and not married who was showing the property as if she was a decent citizen. I needed a place right away for me and my teenage child. I finally left in 2008 in the middle of the year because the manager at that time would give me excuses about transfer to a larger one-bd-room for more additional money; she was asking for $400 dollar transfer fee as if I was a new tenant breaking a lease when my lease was up. So I knew then It was obvious she did not want to rent to me so therefore I was forced to moved. the leasing agent now that is still there is michelle she is a chunky little mexican girl who plays dirty and favors her own kind which I do understand up to a point. Also they allow their tenants to hang clothes over the rail which looks like a inner city housing project and the walk thru area by your apartments are cracked and in desperate need of repairs. Basically what I found out in living in certain parts of Phoenix is that the quality of customer service is poor because we do not have a strong landlord and tenant act. These type of people are not fit to clean my shoes. I believe there is a leasing agent, Yolanda whose kids were vandalizing my vehicle so I had to leave or I was going to hurt someone. The State needs to take these kids and put them in the system because their parents surely don't seem to care how they behave on the property. Now that the rents are even more lower I could just imagine how much riff-rafts you have in that place. All the managers and leasing agents keep hiring poor non-qualify mexican american imitators trying to be a citizens who really need a kick in the rear.

ehhh... not great, but not horrible.
Been in better apartments, but also been in worse. The complex is definitely showing its age. The second floor apartments are connected by walkways that go along the front of the buildings. there are many cracks and several areas where you can tell the walkway is sagging. We lived in the apartment for 14 months, and in that time period, both tubs had to be resurfaced due to cracking and leaking into the apt below.

Don't Rent Here
The office people are rude. They do NOT treat everyone the same. Good luck getting your maintenance problems fixed in a timely manner. Good luck getting your phone calls returned. They do keep the grounds looking nice, but the majority of the residents don't take care of the public places. The gym is always broken. Too many kids. Where are the parents? or the condoms. Too many thugs at the pool at night. For a few extra bucks, you could rent something nicer.

Service is good when you can get it.
I'm at Camelback cove apts in Phoenix AZ. The place itself is pretty average. My complaint is that they don't respond to service issues in a prompt manner. I've had 2 incidents with them now, 1 they classified as a 'non emergency' which I had to wait until the following week to have it fixed, (a/c was leaking a lot of water on the carpet.) The second incident, my heater quit working last week, I called that in, and it's classified as an emergency, and yet no one has showed up yet to fix it? Called the problem in at 5:30 PM Friday February 13th, today is thursday the 19th. Poor rating for service calls.

STAY AWAY!
I moved to Camelback cove in October 2007 after relocating from another state. The leasing agent was very friendly when showing the place, and at the time I liked the location because it was close to my employment. Upon moving in my dishwasher was filled with dead cockroaches. I also killed several roaches upon moving into my unit. I advised the property management that I was not related nor did I pay to house roaches. The management company quickly sent a third party company out to spray my unit. This did not correct the problem so 2 weeks later they notified all the residents in my building that they would be spraying everyones unit. The apartments are small. The laundry room is somewhat clean, yet the dryers or washers are always broke or in non working function. Mail does not get delivered until 5pm or later Monday through Saturday, and the gates are always broken. They have turn over non stop in the rental office, and make sure you get a receipt when paying your rent because sometimes they do not log your rent in the system on time and you end up getting a notice to evict and late charges that are astronomical. Seems anybody can get a unit there, and yes there is occasional shootings and fights you will hear throughout the night. For the money you can find a lot better.

Reasonable, affordable
Overall: After living here about six months can report apartment owners are responsive and move quickly to remedy problems and keep complex in reasonable shape. Apartment complex is safe and well-maintained. Although I hate the bug problem,I would recommend living here. Pros: Price is reasonable. Maintenance repairs fine with quick response if talk to manager. Quiet apartments available. Sometimes hear kids or parking dogs Did have a noise problem with car honking every night for about a month--then suddenly, no more noise. Laundry is close by and when door jammed or machines damaged by thieves, laundry owners/apartment management fixed quickly. Apartment is in wonderful location. If walking is a favored exercise, the walk to Central Ave. where existing bus line and new light rail is located is terrific one way and excellent grocery store (Frys) other way, with library and shopping. Both cats and small dogs allowed. Apartment appearance: Shrubbery well maintained, area well lit, different step heights painted safety yellow. Occasional morning trash problems gone by night. Cons: Staff needs to be better trained--communication minimal. If request is not going to happen, staff does not call and leave message. Tenant has to stay on the ball, make sure if request not done, find out why, and ask repeatedly "is there is anything else I should know or do?". Took over a month of phone calls, written messages to office staff, talking to staff, standing over staff to get on apartment bug spray list. Also had a problem getting remote for gate set up. Had to be physically present and insist with staff to get properly programmed. Apartment has a chronic bug problem--must be commercially sprayed every week and every morning first thing. Old wiring: wiring for cable tv/internet is old. Picture pixelates, voice slower than video, internet occasionally slow. Wiring needs to be replaced.

The good and the bad
The first two years at Camelback Cove were great. After Maxx Properties took over, the complex went downhill - fast ! The good points are: good location, cheap rent and surprisingly no roaches. The bad part is that it went from being a halfway decent complex to ------ in a matter of months. It's full of gangbangers and trashy people. Don't expect to get a good night of sleep. Dogs constantly barking, noise from parties even during the week and kids running wild and screaming at all hourse. I've never lived in an apartment where I can hear my neighbors talking like they are in the same room. The walls are so thin they may as well not exist. Security? The gate is broken about 28 out of 30 days a month. This is a great place to live if you want your car broken into or stolen. Both my car and boyfriend's car were broken into. The property is 25 years old and the water lines are always broken causing the water to be turned off at least twice a month. One year my apartment flooded twice in 45 days due to faulty water lines. My advice is spend the extra money and stay away from the ------.

Pretty good place to live
I just moved in October of 2007. Now I myself am a property manager for a different company and have no connection with Maxx. I work for ConAm and as a property manager I have high expectations of the management. I like this complex. the problems that people have complained about are normal things that happen with apartment living. This is the problem. MOST PEOPLE DON'T COMPLAIN TO MANAGEMENT!!! You have to complain so things can get better. I always go to the office when I have an issue in my courtyard and things get taken care of right away. Like last week there were kids screaming at 11pm and I complained the next morning. Since then it has not happened again. The residents were served with a notice. But don't stop complaining. If it happens ten times then complain ten times. FYI management has to serve a resident with 3 ten day non compliance notices so they can be legally evicted. So if you stop complaining then you are hindering managments ability to take care of these matters for you. As far as plumbing, I have never had an issue. I haven't experienced the water being shut off and the gates work just fine. Although when they do break it's because a RESIDENT ran into the gate with their car and broke it. I live by the gates and saw it happen a few times. PEOPLE! STOP WHEN YOU GET TO THE GATE AND WAIT FOR IT TO OPEN!!!! Also i'm happy with the fitness center. I use it almost every day and all the equipment works. I have two other friends that I reffered and they are happy too. Since I've been here I did see a car broken into. I saw the broken glass on the floor. People this happens everywhere. I used to live at Lexington on Central where you pay $900 a month for a 1 bedroom and someone stole my car. It was a Honda Accord and I had just purchased it 3 months prior, brand new. I was so heart broken :( But so far no one has messed with my car. HERES A FEW TIPS. 1) Lock your car and roll the windows up. I have had so many people say someone stole something from their car and they admitted it was not locked. 2) Get an alarm. 3) Get a CLUB. It works!!!! Thieves want easy targets. If your car has a CLUB then they will pass to the next car to avoid the extra time to cut through it. 4) Park where it's well lit and 5) DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR. IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PURSE WALLET CHANGE MONEY BAGS ETC THEN YOU ARE MAKING YOURSELF A TARGET!

It's OK, but.......
...the service has left a lot to be desired since Maxx Properties took over. They cut out the courtesy patrol which had been a big help in cutting down on noise, damage and vandalism problems. Besides perpetual noise problems with the neighbors the kids who live there are often unsupervised and make a lot of racket. Those who run the laundry machines there haven't been too responsive to maintenance problems and the doors to the laundry rooms keep being proped open for various reasons. I'm glad I'm finally out of there; 4 years was too long to be there.

Good Location
Like the location, staff very nice. Always glad to take care of your problems. The complex very old, have water problems, at least once or twice a month water needs to be turned off, if not told in advance tends to be a inconvenices. Plenty of parking. Have tenants who park their cars in fire zones after hours. Also tenents use the ground as their ash trays. noisy early in the morning loud talking, some of us work various hours.

Great Deal, some ------ turn offs, but still alive to tell the story!
My sister and I lived here for a year (AUG 2005 - AUG 2006) on the second floor, #2103. I'm a penny-pincher finishing school and did like the cheap rent.

positives:
-covered parking, always a close-by space
-courteous office staff
-easy access to highway 51; trader joes and grocery stores just down the street
-quickly responding maintenance staff
-grounds kept clean, in spite of messy residents
-pool clean
-no roaches
-low electric bills (even on 2nd floor)
-decent washing mch/dryer complexes throughout the complex

negatives:
-residents are loud (apartments have thin walls, no?)
-graffiti on my vehicles and a slashed tire (1 time) and I swear I have no enemies
-and these two negatives you'll get in any complex

where's my refund check!!!
I've lived on this complex for 9 yrs. My first year was great. As time when on, manage change, property owns change. By the time I left, this place was complete another complex of when I first moved in. After moving there 4 months ago. I still have not received my security deposit back. I've called several times, and dropped by the front office a couple times. They're always say " I will try." - but nothing yet. I must be an extremely patience man!!!! Or I have been taken advantage of.... you decide.

Not All That Bad
I spent a year here, and overall it wasn't all that bad. Management was okay, pool was pretty nice, laundry rooms were huge, and covered parking was adequate. It's an older complex, so expect some of the problems that come with that. Neighborhood is iffy, but it's close to some really nice areas. There are also some iffy residents, and more than one I saw eviction notices on doors. I would marginally recommend C-Back Cove if you want a cheap place to live that's close to work.

GREAT PLACE TO LIVE!
THIS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE. I ENJOY THE WAY THAT THE STAFF TAKES CARE OF THE PROPERTY AND THERE PROFESSIONALISM. MY WORK ORDERS WERE ALWAYS DONE RIGHT AND FAST, THE GROUNDS LOOK GREAT AND THE POOL IS ALWAYS SPOTLESS. I HAD TO RELOCATE BECAUSE OF A JOB WHICH SADDENED ME TO LEAVE.

Mixed location; Mixed quality; Mixed Service
I moved here because the management of the complex was recommended to me, and the location was going to be somewhat convenient to where I work.

And to be fair when I moved in the management was great. They left you alone, you left them alone. They genuinely seemed to like the residents there, tried to make good things happen (if you had questionable credit you generally could still get in if they felt you were trustworthy) and if you had a problem; they fixed it.

However the apartments themselves were poorly designed, and the mailboxes desperately needed to be fixed. And the area... well we are between a fortune teller and a strip club; what does THAT tell you?

However you are 12 blocks away from the swanky Biltmore area with Borders, Ruth´s Chris, Godiva Chocolates... you get the idea.

The new management has been there about 14 months and they sorta suck. They´re not bad or evil people. They just think they´re the best and all these changes they are making are so exciting. But they often fail to get the big picture. The mailboxes have been my one sore issue since day one. They´ve supposedly tried to fix them...twice...and not gotten it right either time. They added gates that no one wanted, and that make me feel like a prisoner, not to mention inconvenience me when there is some dumb---- person at the podium, who didn´t call ahead, trying to get to an apartment where the person ain´t home.

When they redid the laundry room, I was like "All right, new machines that will work." That´s not what they redid... the prettied up the floors. Something I could have freaking cared less about.

The new management trashed the old management. BIG NO NO!

The plumbing and water sucks, and there is a roach problem too.

However, this is not exactly a craphole either. Parking is adaquate, pool is decent, the laundry room is at least open 24 hours and almost never a waiting problem.

It´s just not as great as the management thinks it is.
