I've been living at San Paulo for about a year now and it is by far the best apartment complex I've ever lived in (and I've lived in many). The reasons I love it are: 1) The management - Rebecca and Tricia are amazing managers. They truly care about each tenant and they work hard to get to know everyone on a personal level. I look forward to visiting the office once a month to pay my rent because I know I'll always be greeted with a smile and pleasant conversation. 2) Maintenance - Lincoln is an incredible worker. He is extremely competent, courteous, friendly, and trustworthy. The complex has 24/7 emergency repair service. My a/c unit went out at 8:00 on a hot (100 degrees) Saturday night and Lincoln came within half an hour, knew immediately what the problem was, calmed me down, and had my apartment cool again by 9:00. Service can't get better than that. 3) The apartment - I love the layout of my apartment because it's very spacious and has an open feeling. There are good ceiling fans in both the bedroom and the living room. The apartment has smoke detectors and high ceilings in every part of the apartment. 4) Security - San Paulo is a gated community. In addition to the outside gates, all apartments have two front door locks (key lock and deadbolt). I feel as safe as can be. 5) Grounds and facilities - The grounds and all common areas are kept immaculate. The gardeners keep the grass and trees trimmed and the landscaping is lovely. There is a beautifully shaped pool that is maintained all year. The fitness center is small yet well equipped. 6) Neighborhood - The neighborhood is a safe one with many conveniences close by. San Paulo is an ideal environment for people who don't have a car because everything you need is in walking distance. Overall, great place to live!

We moved here out of state. Beautiful community, friendly neighbors, friendly & helpful office staff who wud make you feel at home the moment you walk in. Closer to 3+ schools, handful of parks for kids to play around and adults to walk. walkable distance to Frys (grocery store). The only problem we face is the safety of our cars, although it is a gated apartment community, cars are vandalized on regular basis. First week of moving in side view mirror was broken (filed a police complaint which lead nowhere). Over the last six months I have constantly noticed that the mirrors were played with (folded or mirrors moved), multiple intentional scratches on the car etc. Have complained to the apartment management, still not helpful in our situation.

We have lived here a year and love it! The staff Rabecca and Bethany are always friendly and take care of our needs in a timely manner. We have not had any issues here and will continue to stay because they make you feel "at home." They provide excellent customer service. We would recommend this community to our friends and family! Come in and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

I love this complex! The friendly, responsive staff and maintenance crew have always taken care of any issue I've ever had during my tenure here. It's a smaller, quiet complex that is incredibly clean with units on the larger size, and with great layout plans (including full-size, in-unit washers & dryers!). Many of the units have amazing views of the surrounding desert foothills, and the location within Mtn Park Ranch is desirable.

We recently moved to AZ from out of state and have really enjoyed living at this community so far. We were kind of nervous leasing from a community without being able to tour but were very happy with the 1 bedroom apartment that we received. We had a few light bulbs go out since we have been here however, Lincoln has always been quick to respond and he is very friendly. We have had a lot of questions for the office staff since we were not familiar with this area and they have always been very helpful. I have dealt with Rabecca mostly, she has been super nice and is very knowledgeable. Also, I have to say that I love the way the plants and landscaping look, VERY clean! All in all - I would definitely recommend this community!

The office staff is friendly (Rebecca/ Bethiny in particular). If there is any concern or issue they get it taken care of immediately. They were so helpful with my move in and answered all of the questions I had. Parking is somewhat tight but Its really not so bad. Maintenance has done an amazing job with addressing the few concerns I had and getting small things corrected. So far, I love it here and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a great place to call home!

Unfortunately, this is the single worst renting experience I've been subjected to endure to date. If you are a current resident, take note: either video tape your apartments condition and have multiple witnesses at the ready to back this up upon moving oit, or don't even bother cleaning, because they will charge you anyways. I know what you're thinking- you're super clean...you are never charged when moving out. Yeah, that was me too until this place. If you're considering residency: please be warned that our car was broken into our last week we were there and their maintenance guy told us there had been several others the previous week, which is not shocking since their gates are broken and remain open more often than not. Their 'security guy' on site is only good for selectively writing parking tickets on expired registration tags. Parking is an absolute joke. Several tenants who were assigned parking garages decided to utilize them instead as storages and gobbled up the precious few 'open' spots. We were forced to park across the street at Frys more than once. I called and stopped in every few months for over a year begging for resolution for this with only empty promises of enforcing their parking policy, which never occurred. Also please take note that if they repave their parking lot, and give you a coupon to their carpet cleaners they they will charge you extra for 'extra soiled spots'. Final straw was upon moving out we were told we'd be contacted for a final walk through with maintenance. Instead, of that happening, they decided to rip the carpets out and charge us for it despite having our apartment professionally cleaned, and providing pictures of the apartments condition upon move out. Our professional cleaner even wiped down the light bulbs, and yet there it was on their invoice: cleaning. These guys appear not to care about the facts and proof supplied to them and will pass on cost to you at their leisure. I'm not talking a few bucks- this was over $600 I was forced to pay for the first time in my life after years of renting. I've never experienced more unprofessional and egregious practices in the apartment business. I can only hope that all Pillar properties are not the same as this! Good luck. Proceed with caution.

The maintenance staff and management are second to none. Super friendly with our kids and always saying hello. We feel very safe when they come in and do maintenance requests. And they do a great job keeping the complex look like a resort. We've loved living here. We were on the wrong end of a noise complaint with our three young kids and the staff handled it so well making sure we felt welcome and safe in our 3 bedroom apartment. Even with kids, San Paulo is a great place to live.

My family and I have lived at San Paulo for almost 2 years and we love it here! The staff in the office are amazing. When ever there is a problem it is taken care of promptly. The grounds are clean and well taken care of. It is a beautiful quiet apartment complex. I don't see myself moving anytime soon!

Lived here for 8 months. Loved it. Excellent staff. Always responsive and quick to come if any maintenance requests. Love the location. Our kids love being so close to mountain trails. Best price for quality and square footage in Ahwatukee in my book. I've recommended this place to several people. We love it here.

San Paulo Apartments is a fantastic place to live. It's well kept and families and nice humble people live here. It's close to the mountain and grocery stores and local shops and restaurants. It's far enough from Interstate 10 but still close to lots of Phoenix.

San Paulo is a great apartment luxury complex near South Mountain in Ahwatukee, Phoenix, Arizona. It is perfect for young professionals, families, older retirees and all inbetween. I really enjoy how well the grounds are kept, how friendly and attentive the staff is and how clean and nice the pool and hot tub are. This is a great place to live if you are on a budget because the place is super nice and it is a great affordable place!

Called on 6/27/16 to get help on a package that was shipped to this apartment complex in error. This package was for a former tenant/friend /classmate who had moved without my knowledge. REBECCA the Manager/Front Desk Receptionist was HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE and stated..."I shouldn't even be talking to you right now". I wasn't trying to get information on anyone or my friend who I had already been in contact with...just trying to track down her gift. What an experience first thing in the morning. Maybe the company should invest in some Customer Service classes for their Manager.

San Paulo is the best community in Phoenix I have lived in. The staff are extremely friendly and also welcoming. Any maintenance issues are fixed the next or same day at times. The pool area is always clean and great to use. There are gas grills that work great. The neighbors are friendly and always say hello when walking past. They keep the grounds very well kept. I have recommended the community to friends and co-workers.

I moved in April 2015 and love it here. Such a good location, hiking trails off of the property, wonderful sunsets, they have Community events that are so much fun, the pool and grills are great and the staff is wonderful. They are so friendly and helpful, not to mention the apartment its self. Large rooms, kept well and just truly a nice floor plan. The only thing I really don't like is the kitchen storage or lack there of. I really like to cook and this kitchen is not really set up for that. But hay trader joes is an awesome hike away and they make great pre-made food :-) Make the best of what you have and I have a small kitchen but a walk in closet and a gated apartment nestled in the foothills of ahwatukee.

Moved in February 2015 and LOVE it!! Always quiet, no fear of late night coming and going. Clean and well kept grounds. Office staff are genuinely kind and courteous and always inquiring of how they can be of greater service. Maintenance is fast, nonintrusive and will ask if there is anything you forgot to put in online request. This complex goes the extra five miles in taking care of residents and their professionalism is top notch, always.

I moved here by phone. I did not see the complex before I moved in. The office staff was amazing and actually went above and beyond to help me. They took pictures of the specific unit I was going to move into and was very detailed and patient with me. I did bring them some Firehouse Subs when I moved in though, so be sure to take care of them! They work hard. This place is absolutely fantastic. I have to admit that I did write a bad review at one point, but it was due to rent increases and budget constraints, though rent did not increase much. The office staff do their jobs and do it well, within their means. The office staff is always fun, professional, and upbeat. They always address me by name and are polite, even if one of them called me the wrong name for a few months, haha). Maintenance is perfect, they are honest and trustworthy. You can file work orders online and they always fixed the issues by the next day. The complex is fairly old, but it is very well kept. I do hear my upstairs neighbors turn on their water for the shower at times, but it honestly does not bother me. I am sure they can hear mine as well. They have free doggie bags! They do have grounds maintenance at early hours of the day, usually when everyone is at work or getting ready. Sometimes it is on a weekend when you try to sleep in, but I am not complaining because it isn't that big of a deal. I know some people do take this seriously though. I have one car to park, and my own spot. Always had my parking available. I did get a second vehicle and sometimes had to walk a couple of minutes to get to my apartment. Not a big deal at all. Key takeaway is that parking is not that plentiful, but you typically will always be able to find a spot, but not always right next to your unit. Pool is always clean. I have great neighbors!

What can I say? Just the best place ever! Moved here a few months ago from out of state. The Office staff is very friendly & helpful! The maintenance team is prompt & hold to the 24 hour promise! The area is amazing with all the hiking & wild life, we love it! Then the shopping & restaurants so close! Can't imagine better!
