I have lived here for 2 years now. The apartment layout is awesome, tons of storage and even though it's not that much square footage it feels very spacious. The washer and dryer in unit are also great. The downfalls are definitely the cost and the noise. I can hear everything my neighbors are doing upstairs and next to me. Also, the pipes and vents are super loud and squeaky. You can hear when people run the water and if you're just sitting in your living room watching tv you constantly hear creaks and pops. The other downside is the cost. You have to pay for every little thing on top of high rent - water, gas, trash, utilities and of course internet and cable. I agree with the other reviewer that they do not value the loyalty and even though it may save them money in the long run with so much turnover the rent never fails to go up quite a bit each year. As far as safety, even though it is 'gated' the gates are stuck open half the time and anyone can really get in if they wait for a car to pull up.

Overall the property is a great place to live. I have enjoyed getting to know the management staff and have appreciated how attentive, helpful and courtesy they have been. The maintenance team is always responsive and knowledgable.

Overall the apartment is nice, people that work there are extremely nice and helpful. Only complaint is rent prices going up yearly, dog poop piling up, and dead bushes. Really not a lot when you think about it.

I have lived here for 4 years and it's been a nice place to live. The management is always absolutely wonderful and always helpful, the maintenance is spectacular and always so nice! The only downside is of course the rent, it's completely outrageous... After 4 years you'd think we'd be a valued resident but instead they keep jacking up our rent. But that's apartment living for you... Overall I'd recommend these apartments, they are pretty nice. Parking does actually really suck, there aren't enough spaces.

I have lived here now for 7 months and am very pleased with my apartment. For the most part its very quite. Occasionally I'll hear my upstairs neighbor, but thats to be expected. Every concern I have had has been quickly addressed by maintenance. The staff at the office has been nothing but friendly to me. While the fitness center is small, it has everything I need. And the pool is great. As long as my rent doesn't increase by horrible amount I will be staying for a 2nd year.

The management is absolutely horrible and they have hidden fees for everything. They are unable to give you consistent amounts that you owe and when they can't make them match up they lump large fees into the category "Other Fees" that they refuse to explain. They never take the blame for when things are their fault and they have horrible customer service. The apartments themselves are cheaply built, noisy and unsafe. The complex is extremely over priced and overrated. The gates are NEVER closed or secured. And they jack your rent up ridiculous amounts each year. Do yourself a favor, DON'T EVEN BOTHER LOOKING HERE.

In general this is a nice place to live. There were apparently some administrative changes this past year and so far it appears that they have been for the better. The people that live here are so-so. Some of them have cleanliness issues but you get that everywhere you go. At least there aren't usually issues with noise, at least for us, which is nice given that the average age of the people who live here is generally younger. There are plenty of nice amenities and things to do (pool, gym, clubhouse) as well. Hopefully someone will find this review helpful!

I have only lived in Riverton on the Platte for a few months, but I am really happy with my decision to live here. The staff is really friendly and really helpful whenever I have needed anything or had questions. The grounds are really clean and neat. The pool is gorgeous! There is ample parking. I feel very safe living here and I feel that I will be here for a long time. The is one of the best apartment complexes I have been in and I have lived on the East Coast and the South, this is the best.

Between the crime, obnoxious neighbors, and poor apartment conditions I do not even know where to begin. During my time here my car was broken in to during the night, and it was parked in the parking garage. I was followed through the gate almost daily, and several times to my apartment. Just before moving out I got to walk past graffiti on the wall of my building on the way out to my car. As a female, I did not feel safe there and purchased mace and was constantly checking my surroundings as I was walking around. After several complaints about my upstairs neighbors creating so much noise and banging around that it knocked pictures off my wall, nothing had been fixed. They smoked in their bathroom and the smoke filtered down in to my bathroom, closet, and bedroom. I duct taped the vents closed to try to stop this to no avail. Then, they threw their cigarette butts down on to my balcony and created burn holes in my patio furniture. My unit was absolutely filthy when I moved in. Lint still in the dryer, cobwebs on the windows, cigarette burns in the carpet. The pantry doors had been damaged by a pet and were just painted over. The countertops in the kitchen and bathroom were peeling off. I should also add that you are charged exorbitant fees upon move out for issues that fall under normal wear and tear, such as worn carpet. If you do choose to live here, make sure you photograph EVERYTHING upon move-in and make sure it is timestamped so you can make a case for yourself and save thousands upon move-out, or else you will be footing the bill for upgrading the units.

I have lived at Riverton for 8 months now. I have NEVER had any complaints against me in other communities I've lived in. Since the complex got bought out this winter the new staff are the most rude people I have ever dealt with. I had my car stolen from this "gate secure" complex. We have non handicapped drivers parking in handicapped spots repeatedly with no consequences. I have asked the staff for information about my transfer from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom during the time of transfer of ownership and they claim that they can't find my old lease agreement from less than a year ago. This place sucks --- and I feel bad for whomever moves in here

I have been living at Riverton for 4 months now and I love it. The apartments are nice and spacious. I love the patio and that I have outdoor space to relax on all of the sunny Denver days. I live in an upgraded apartment and enjoy the extra space and appliances. There is a large wash closet with washer/dryer in unit which is wonderful. I love that I have a separate closet to store my cleaners, vacuum, etc. and it can be closed away from guests and company. The apartment and complex is quiet, which I appreciate because I work weird hours; it allows me to sleep when I need to. I have never heard any of my neighbors. The pool and workout room are great - I appreciate that they leave the hot tub open all year round so residents can enjoy it anytime. The maintenance staff is quick to respond to requests and I appreciate they leave a printed request signed off on in your apartment so you know they were there. The grounds are kept nicely. I have two dogs and one of my biggest pet peeves about pet owners is not picking up after their dogs. There are bags and trash cans all over the place and yet some people just can't seem to pick up after their pets. I know this is an issue everywhere, but what I really appreciate is that the maintenance staff is out picking up after those who do not pickup for themselves! That is so great and makes the apartments so much nicer. It would be nice if they had a fenced in area for dogs. There are so many dogs on the property, which is great to be in a dog-lover community. There are a lot of areas around the complex that could easily be fenced off and made into a dog park. I would think this would be a great benefit to the complex itself as then it could advertise a fenced in dog park. The only downside of this complex is the parking. Although I have never had much of an issue finding a parking space, the problem is how far away that parking space might be from my building. They have a parking structure but you have to pay extra for a space, even though the garage is half empty all the time. Half of the problem is there are not enough spaces, and other residents are just inconsiderate parkers. The complex is a short drive to lots of restaurants and stores. Platte River Dr. actually goes underneath Hampden, so you don't even have to drive to some of the stores. I have enjoyed walking or riding my bike to Target, the movies, Broken Tee golf course, and all of the Riverpointe shops. Bear Creek trail runs right outside of the complex so you can run, walk or bike as long as you like with very easy access. Overall, I have enjoyed my time here and am very happy in my decision to rent at Riverton on the Platte. I look forward to staying here a long time.

Riverton on the Platte is our 3rd apartment complex we have lived in in Denver. We looked and looked for a decent place to live in after the first two apartments were absolute nightmares. We've lived here for almost a year now and we really like it. We wanted something that was nice and gated. Though it is gated, we still get numerous flyers and people knocking on the door to sell stuff...we just don't answer the door. I think the quality of the apartments are very good....SO much better than what else is out there. They have a great work out room, pool and hottub. When we first moved in the complex was owned by another company and we really liked the office people. They have now changed ownership and I have yet to meet the new crew, but we haven't had any issues to where we have needed to contact them. The maintenence crew is awesome and very nice. This apartment complex is very dog friendly and have poop bag stations everywhere. The maintenence people pick up after the lazy people who dont pick up after their dogs so poop is never really a problem. We rent a garage and its large enough to put our boat in there plus all our ski equipment, tool boxes, storage tubs, and bikes...so its really big! The apartment complex has many different lay outs to choose from. The only problem we have is the carpet wasn't brand new when we moved in so we bought a carpet cleaner to clean our floor regularly, but im also a clean freak. We have absolutely no issues with out neighbors, in fact we have made friends with people that live here. We never have noise problems or cops being called. Another issue that does bother me is our neighbors always put their trash outside their door, so it would be nice if the complex would send out a newletter tellign people not to do that anymore bc its gross and nastiness leaks out of the bags. My minimum issues are not that bad compared to other complexs. So i think this place is pretty great! I've noticed a lot of young couples living here before purchasing their first home.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! This place is horrible. From the cheaply built apartments that are falling apart (you will get charged for this once you move out), to the horrible staff, to the fresh sewer smell from the "river" across the street. This place is a joke. Don't waste your money because you will regret it.

Ok, from the outside these apartments look great! Before we moved here, I was very hesitant to put too much thought into negative reviews, as most people that take the time to write a review do so because they are bitter. Well, I have decided that if I can in any way save 1 person from the experience that we have had it is worth it. We have lived here for a total of 3 months. Well, here you go. First of all, don't even let them sell you on the "Business Center." We have our own computers, but have needed to use the center a few times. There used to be 2 computers and there still may be but only 1 computer has a mouse so make sure you bring your own. Also, get ready to wait. Every single time we have needed to access it, there has either been a teenager or adult on it. They have absolutely no regard to the people waiting and have no problem spending an hour on Facebook while you are waiting for the computer. Don't even think about printing anything out unless you bring your own paper either. Then when you do ask for paper they will hesitantly offer you 2 pieces. The gym is actually ok, as not many people use it. The pool is ok if you are not arachnophobic, there are tons of little spiders all over the ground so stay on the lounge chairs. Disgusting. The pool gate however is not properly cemented into the ground and rocks back and forth as if it is about to fall out of the ground. Oh and I should mention that every single time I leave it, my hand is cut from the knob. There is a little hole that has a jagged edge on it and there is no way to get around grabbing it. The awesome part of this is that I actually mentioned it to someone from the office who told me that it would be more beneficial to actually file a complaint because they may listen to a tenant. They gave me an excuse that it had just been changed and so I go back 1 week later to the gym, cut my hand again. The parking is a nightmare. People will actually park in a parallel position in front of your cars The security gate is a joke. Actually, for the past month (I believe it was just fixed today) the security gate was completely unattached and lying on the ground. Even though it is repaired, it will not make a difference as usually every single night the back gate is left wide open. We are new to Denver and this area is pretty sketchy. We totally knew that when we moved BUT because of the "gated community" promise we felt safe. You can forget that here. A gate only works if it is always properly closed unless you have a key fob. Neighbors are nice and quiet but the sound of incessant barking dogs left on patio is a nightmare. The inside of the apartment is just OK. We were actually supposed to have an upgraded apartment that was pre negotiated. HOWEVER, I would insist on seeing the actual apartment you are signing the lease for. We were completely lied to. When asked to see the apartment before the lease was signed, we were told that it was really dirty and the carpet needed to be replaced. When we arrived with our packed U-haul from another state, we had the basic crappy lighting/countertop apartment. At that point, they pretty much apologized for our confusion. Horrible horrible business ethics. Maintenance comes to these poorly built apartments on a bi-weekly basis to fix random broken things. I will say that maintenance is great and very responsive. I am highly dissatisfied and will make sure that every client and friend I come into contact with that is in the market for an apartment hears my experience. Now for the generic response from the office...

It's only been a month?
The apartments are very nice and new with many modern features I find appealing. All this is overshadowed by the fact that less than a month into living here we found out the air conditioning did not work on a record heat day hitting above 100 degrees. Not only did they not fix it the next day, they did not fix it the day after, and the day after that. Right now it is on day three and they still need to come back a fourth day. The service worker showed up and kept disappearing without any communication to where he was going and if he will return. I kept having to call the office in order to get an update. Very very poor customer service in regards to maintenance. I may be jaded right now because I'm sitting here as the temperature starts to rise inside the apartment. Parking is crazy and allowed all along the drive way as well as behind garages which includes mine. It makes it more difficult to enter and exit my garage when there is a vehicle parked behind it. I hope they don't allow this when it starts to snow as I'm afraid I will slide into whoever's car is parked there. The tenants are interesting as well. Mixture of young families with kids speeding out on their bikes in front of you, young professionals and students, and a handful of white trash. Already had the neighbor screaming she hates her husband followed by smacking sounds and half an hour of some guy knocking on a door and commenting that "so and so must not want to open the door'. Really? Oh, and the apartment of young guys smoking in the patio followed by a broken window boarded up with wood. I'll be ready to move after my lease is up.

Excellent
I lived here for two years and only moved away because of a work relocation. Otherwise I would still be living here. The staff was great, the price was fair, and my renewal price stayed the same year to year. Maintenance was quick and responsive, and the view of the mountains I had was terrific. The location is awesome since you can be in downtown in no more than 15 minutes, or in the mountains in 25. The only cons were how challenging it is to get to the light rail (you have to cross santa fe and there is no shuttle) and sometimes one particular neighbor was very noisy at night, though this was rare. Highly recommended; as nice as downtown places that charge 1.5X as much but with much better views.

Loved it here!
I've lived in a few different apartment complexes since moving out on my own, and this has been by far my favorite so far. Everyone in the management office is kind, funny, and really amazing. They throw events every couple of months - summer pool party, holiday BBQ, and a few others - and they're always great. No matter the size of the crowd, big or small, everyone seems to be having fun. As far as my apartment itself: I had a one-bedroom, the second-smallest. 744 sq ft, I think. I really liked the layout of the apartment, though I did think the bedroom was a little small for the size of the apartment. But then, it could have been that my furniture was oddly shaped for the size of the room. The closet was a very nice sized walk-in. I liked how close the complex was to Target and the Riverfront shopping center, as well as the lightrail and Englewood Shopping Center. My apartment didn't get a lot of sunlight, so that was a little sad, but I knew that when I rented my place. If I had to pick some negatives, it's a little difficult to get to the Visitor Entrance, especially since GPS units took guests to the wrong gate. And I'm not a huge fan of the industrial Sheridan neighborhood where the complex is located. Overall, I'd give this place a strong A and recommend it. It's definitely worth considering if you're looking for a place to live!

Best Place I've Lived in CO
Living at Riverton has been fantastic since well before we even moved in, so let's go back to the beginning. In late spring/early summer of 2011, my girlfriend (now fiancee) and I were looking for a larger apartment space than our old place in the DTC. Additionally, given that her job at the time was in Golden, CO, and I was still working in the DTC, we were looking for somewhere that was more central, so we were looking along Hampden and even more into Lakewood. Riverton was among roughly 4 communities that we had decided to visit after looking at photos and floor plans online. I remember walking into the lobby area in the clubhouse thinking that the style was really much more in line with my style than any of the other places I'd seen previously, which had good space, but older and cheaper styling. Then we met Mike. Forgive me to all the rest of the wonderful staff, as I know I've probably interacted with all of you at one time or another, and you've all been wonderful, but Mike is really the face of Riverton for Krista and me. You have to understand that the first two folks we'd met with earlier in the day were not very personable, and they seemed rather robotic in showing us their apartment homes. We almost felt like we were a burden on those folks as we were touring. Mike was completely different. As soon as we walked in, we could tell that he loved the community, he loved what he did, and he was actually interested in having us there. For lack of a better term, it was almost like he was recruiting for Riverton. Mike was incredibly personable and was more than happy to show us what we wanted to see as far as floor plans, and yet he wasn't pushy at all. Something else I keyed on as we were riding around on the golf cart was how many of the residents he knew, and how many of them knew him. I've rented for years, and I can't remember a single person in the office who I knew or knew me very well. Fortunately for us, you had our ideal apartment available with a fantastic view and upgraded finishes (which are just are style, by the way). We jumped on the opportunity, and honestly the hardest part of the entire process was having to wait until my old lease was up to move in. Fast forward a couple weeks before move-in. I had my mother and uncle in town from out of state, and we were passing the community and I decided to drop in and see if we could see a similar floor plan, so my family could get a feel for where we would be moving. Of course, Mike was there and dropped everything to show us (yet again) a comparable apartment to the one we would eventually move into. I noticed that the attitude and energy never changed. He was still recruiting for Riverton the whole time. Move-in day came and went, and I was interested to see whether or not any other online reviews were true. I'd heard of two shortcomings at the community, 1) the walls are thin, and 2) parking can be a challenge. I was happy to find out my experience has not been the same as whoever wrote those reviews. I haven't had any noise problems, and I've been able to hear conversations maybe once or twice, but nothing I wouldn't expect anywhere you're sharing a wall. Parking can get busy, but the area to the right side of the office is always open, so who cares? You can still get a spot fairly close, and you can still have the security of the gates. Since then, it's pretty much been smooth sailing. We haven't attended the parties in the clubhouse, so I don't really have much feedback there, but I can say I've never gotten as many nice pieces of communication, whether offers like lease extensions, or even just invitations, and 'Thanks for being a resident'. The treatment and care shown for residents has wildly exceeded my expectations. Even maintenance appears very friendly, although I've yet to have anyone in my home for more than a few minutes. Even when I've seen them out working on the gates when we've had a lot of snow, they always stop to wave, which is a nice touch. On facilities, obviously we love our apartment. It's a great space, beautiful cabinets and finishes, and just very comfortable. We've both started using the gym much more and I've found it excellent given the space. Rarely is it extremely busy, so it's been nice to go down and get some running in without having to drive to a 24-Hour Fitness. One piece of feedback I'd provide is to consider getting some spray and paper towels in the gym for folks to wipe down equipment. It's not a huge issue, but might be something that's not too expensive to implement. Also, if I'm missing it, and it's just around the corner, please let me know. We're both definitely looking forward to spending a summer at the pool. All our friends who helped us move were very jealous when they saw the pool, so I'm sure we'll be taking advantage of that regularly. As a final note of appreciation, within the past week, I had some food deliveries go to the office. Unfortunately, the FedEx driver failed to leave a note on my door. Mike actually called my fiancee and told her that normally he didn't call, but given that one of the items was a cooler, he wanted to let us know that you had the item in the office. By the time I picked it up the food was spoiled, but a replacement is on the way. It's just really nice to have people you like and who look out for you in a community. Like I said, I've lived in 6 apartment communities in the last 10 years, and I've never seen anything like this. We'd actually considered having a party in the clubhouse and inviting the staff to have fun with us, rather than just lock up (I'm not sure if policy would allow for this). Unfortunately, we were looking at New Year's Eve, and the space was unavailable. But truly, that's how we feel about the people we've encountered here. The apartment is wonderful and comfortable, but the people truly make the difference.

Great place to live
Riverton on the Platte has been a great place to live. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. I had a concern with a smoking unit and they immediately took care of it and resolved the issue. They also make the effort to make it a fun and friendly community by hosting events and competitions. Maintenance in the complex is always well performed and in a timely manner. The amenities are always clean and in great condition. As a female, I feel safe living here on my own. The staff has proven to be reliable and trustworthy. I would recommend these apartments to my friends and family.

Overall very nice apartments
This will be the third year that we've lived at the Riverton Apartments. Overall, we have enjoyed living at this location. We have had some difficulties and complaints, but overall we have had a positive experience. Since we live over the pool area, we've made quite a few calls to the security company complaining about the noise in the hot tub at night. Fortunately, this hasn't happened as often in the past couple years, but it seems in general that some people in the apartment community do not respect the residents in the pool area - as most of the time we hear them between midnight and 5AM. That by far would be my biggest disappointment about living here and when I recommend this apartment to other people, I highly suggest that they do not live in that area. For the most part, the staff has been very friendly and helpful. There have been a few times were miscommunication has created an issue, but the staff was cooperative and understanding, which we most definitely appreciate. We love the look and the layout of the apartments. I would have to say aside from the appearance of the apartments, I would rate the maintenance staff as one of the most positive aspects of the Riverton. Whenever we have a maintenance issue, it is taken care of in a timely manner and that is very much appreciated! We have only been to a few community events, but we have enjoyed them so far! I think that it's very thoughtful of the staff to put on these events and reach out to their residents - it gives the Riverton a very personable atmosphere. Overall, I would recommend living here. It's a good location (a little hard to get to), but the surrounding area is continuosly improving and conveniently located to restuarants, entertainment and the lightrail.
