DO NOT RENT!

I“m not here to tell you what to do but I“m here to warn you. BE careful to read everything before you sign.

Here“s the thing..... After the 3rd you are considered late on your rent, in which most cases you pay a $100 or less late charge.... NOT WITH WESLEY HERRINGTON.....

You lose your special for that month so that meanD you will have to pay the difference of your rent based upon the market rate.... OK I UNDERSTAND THAT, WHICH IN MOST CASES IS NOT THAT BASED $150 AT THE MOST BUT THAT IS NOT THE END, ON TOP OF THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $100 LATE FEE.... ALMOST $250 MORE IN ADDITION TO YOUR MONTHLY RENT....

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

That is the worst.....

Wesley HErrington sucks!!!!!

    Some good, but more negative

My roommate and I spent almost two months "shopping" for apartments in this area before we decided on Wesley Herrington. We were very impressed by the friendly office staff who remembered our names every time we came in and by the apartments themselves. They have very high ceilings and a nice, open floor plan that makes the apartment seem larger than it really is. The high-speed internet is also wonderful, and we liked the fact that our first-floor apartment has an alarm. One of the reasons we picked the apartment we did was because our deck looked out on a small forest and it seemed quiet.

The surprises started right away. Within a month of moving in, construction crews started chopping down the lovely pine trees and clearing the ground for 4 more buildings in the complex. I wonder to this day why the leasing agent never mentioned these plans to expand, as they were clearly already in the works when we were exclaiming delight over the view. Not only are the construction crews still there over a year later, they are extremely noisy and rude. Many times the equipment they use has made our entire building shake, and they have discussions right outside my bedroom window early in the morning.

The construction has also created other problems. All the creatures that used to live in those trees (think crickets, spiders, roaches, ants, etc.) decided they also liked the open floor plan and moved in with us (via a poorly sealed door threshold). The leasing staff said that someone came and sprayed while we were at work, but we still had to buy roach traps and stalk noisy crickets at midnight cans of bug spray. The dirt they piled up twenty feet from the building also caused water to back up, which caused mold to grow in one of our closets. Maintenance made two half-hearted attempts to clean and repaint this, but we ended up having to do it ourselves.

All this is small potatoes compared to our recent troubles with the new staff. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the staff turnover is ridiculous, and the current staff has the personality of a rock. There was a small typo on our original lease and it took almost two weeks and dozens of phone calls on our part to sort it out. Not once, despite having left several messages and making follow-up calls, did anyone from that office EVER call us back. We always had to call them or go see them, EVERY TIME.

So I have to say, although we liked our actual apartments (once we got rid of the bugs, and in spite of the fact that everything people are saying about the noise of the neighbors and thinness of the walls is absolutely true and really annoying), we are very happy to be leaving Wesley Herrington behind. I would recommend that you ask for everything you could ever want BEFORE you sign your lease, get it in writing, and keep three copies for later reference. Because once you sign your name on the line, they forget your name and the fact that they aren“t just there to take your check every month, but to make it pleasant to live there.

      Bath tub nightmare

I moved in to Wesley Herrington in August 2003. In October 2003, my bath tub cracked for the first time and it did not get repaired until 2 months later and it ruined the apartment below me. When they did repaired it I got a note to not to use the tub and I had to ask my manager Peter Hendrickson if I can use the corporate at Wesley Paces to shower and I had to send my child with a friend so he can bathe there. The second time it cracked it was in March 2003. Again I was inconvinenced and it took a month to repair and I was there with the contractor and he stated that they need to replace the tub because it will continue to crack it is thin like paper and I had go spend the night and at a friend“s and once again send my child away with his father since we could not use our bathroom. The third time is when Missy Moyer was the manager of Wesley Herrington and I reported the cracked again and the tub was patched with metal tape until they could get a contractor out again and she also stated tha maintenance assured her this the problem has been corrected, and once it was repaired I was inconvinced again and I stayed again at a friends house and had to send my child away because we could not use the tub. On New Years Eve, My tub cracked again and I was given a role of metal tape by maintenace to tape my tub everyday. They now decided to replace my tub on January 23rd of which I walked into a incomplete job and I was not notified by management about the status of the tub. I walked in on my bathroom in total disray.Tape and black plastic around the tub and a hole in my closet. They left a mess in my apartment and was smoking i my apartment. And I was supposed to allow my child and myself to bath in the tub like that. They act as if I was not supossed to be upset about not being notified about the status of my bathroom. They trying to corrected the situation and getting the repairs done but the fact of the matter is. I“m paying $695.00 for a brand new apartment home and I haven“t gotten the full use my bathroom. I“ve been inconvinced to many times and still haven“t gotten the full use of my bathroom since. This is a brand new apartment, everything should still be under warranty. The walls are very thin, I have deal with my neighbors loud noise. I pay $725.00 for this crap I live in.
fake reviews - WOW and AWESOME?

I“m trying to find an apartment in the area and am happy to learn about this website, but wary of fake reviews. The two reviews WOW and AWESOME claim to be from different residents (who have lived there at different periods) but sound like sales pitches. Both writers spelled "recommend" incorrectly. Perhaps the rating on this apartment is falsely inflated.

          I“M BACK!

          Are you ready for this,

Previously I wrote about my experience with Wesley Herrington prior to my move in date. I ignored the warning signs. After holding a lease with Wesley Herrington for 2 months prior to me moving in. I walked in on January 15th ready to move in. A leasing agent asked me who was my leasing agent. After telling them who I was dealing with, she comes out with an attitude stating that she“s not my leasing agent and that someone else was. Well I signed my leasing agreement with her so I assume she was the one that made the final arrangement. THat was besides the point.... she replied stating that my leasing agent no longer works there. So what was the reason she took me thru all of this, I DON“T KNOW. Ok so after she gave me my keys to my apartment.... Walked in just to find out the apartment was filthy. I made a trip back to the leasing office to tell them ... THey told me that I will have to wait for the Maintenance Supervisor to do a walk thru with me. (now I found this kind of strange because most apartment complexes will not give you a key unless a leasing agent does a walk thru with you) I sat there for an hour waiting. Do you think at least one of the leasing agents or the manager would at least come to my apartment to view the conditions of the apartment. NO.... I then had to wait 5 hours for a housekeeping to come in and clean AROUND my boxes and furniture.

THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER....

There“s no laundry facility, no linen closet in your bathrooms. The apartment was cheaply built. Now I have to say that my apartment was a palace next to my friend“s apartment. We moved in on the same day, they told her that no one ever lived there before her. Her apartment was 10 times worse than mine, she had bugs every where, she had several maintenance issues that have not yet been resolved.

I don“t recommend this apartment to anyone. The staff is bad, the apartments are cheaply built. The only thing that attracted me to the apartment was the french doors and that island in the kitchen. But putting up with the staff is the worse.

            New Guy

I hate to hear negative comments. Of all the places I viewed, this was the nicest. I am moving in soon, but we got the best building in there. Everything looks clean and new. I will cautious of mice, but wouldn“t you have to leave a door open to let them in. I think you can make a brand new place as nice as you want and half of these negative comments are high maintenance people anyway. Maybe the mice will leave with the poeple who don“t like it. I am psyched and will be back to give my opinion after living there.

              Great location but....

I am finally out of my lease and am happy to be away from Wesley Herrington.

I found I had mice in my apartment after I moved in. I asked several times to have someone come and set bait or traps. I ended up buying my own traps and catching them myself.

Hot water went out six months into the lease. I had to give the maintenance guy my own voltage meter because his was broke. He left a grease stain on the carpet.

Office Manager "Kim" is rude...avoid her at all cost!!!!

Berber carpet frayed while vacumming...I was charged to have it fixed.

Neighbors were loud and rude. Most of the people living there have no respect for others in the community.

I swear there was a drug dealer living in one of the buildings...cars would pull up, leave the engine running, go in and come out in a matter of minutes.

They shut the pool down on a holiday...Memorial day or July 4th..can“t remember exactly due to some sort of occurance that happened a day or two prior.

I would say be careful about committing to this property. If you at least here these things I am telling, you will go into a lease at Wesley Herrington better informed than I did.

moving in is hell!! don“t live here!!

every week there is a new leasing agent. we came to these apartments thinking we got a good deal. the girl who did our paperwork said it would take 2 days to get an approval and after those days we didn“t get a call. we had to call them back and still no answer on the credit review. we called back on monday and still no "okay". finally, on tuesday we got approved which took a freakin“ week and not two days. we had 4 people working on our papers. how many leasing agents does it take to get crap done. the first girl left to somewhere else and so did the second, without letting us know. we got a third lady to try to finalize it and made an appointment to meet her. when we got there she was late and didn“t get anything done. the manager had to go through everything with us and the whole time we were being patient and calm. they give us our access cards and they didn“t work. they worked on the gate cards several times and nothing was achieved. the moving truck was outside waiting forever and blocking the gate. the lady even gave us an attitude about it after we written them a damn check for the month. the only reason we“re staying here is the fact we“re under the lease and gave them all this money for the deposit. it“s a nice complex, but i guess with all leasing offices there is always people there to piss you off because they don“t do any work.

Talking about the most unprofessinal, unorganized propert I have ever resided at. The office manaer is never there, they never follow up on their promises and they will let tome,---- or harry into your apartment and let them rip you off.

I am a new resident at Herrington and I am so pleased that I made the decision to live here! The staff is awesome; very friendly, personable and helpful. My apartment is "fully loaded" with washer and dryer ALREADY IN THE UNIT!!! I have beautiful berber carpet, arched doorways, and even 2 lighted art "nooks" on the walls for statues and/or pictures. I especially love the island kitchen and maple cabinets (which are huge!--tons of storage space)! I would definately reccomend this place to everyone!

I must say that I have lived in several apartments in the area and I have never seen this kind of apartment before. My apartment is so spacious and the kitchen is awesome, it even has a ceramic tiled backsplash. My sister is so jelous...she just moved into a brand new house and her kitchen doesn“t even look as good as mine! The office staff are really great as well..they are very patient and friendly. I would definatly reccomend this community to anyone looking for a nice place to live.
