I have lived here for 12 years and have really like living here. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It is a quiet community with easy access to expressways and Valparaiso and shopping and entertainment.

    Hampshire is a quiet complex for the most part and the maintenance crew is really good. When you put in a ticket for maintenance they get back to you within 24 hours. Hampshire needs to upgrade the apartments their's a lot of old amenities. They go up on the rent every year but no improvements.

      Was amazing when I moved in 10 years ago. Management has gone down tremendously since then. It used to be beautiful here now it's almost like living in the slums. Dangerous conditions aren't fixed for weeks to months. Concerns aren't heard. Rent has almost doubled. Very disappointing after being a long time resident!

        I love the apartment I just wish that the carpet would have been better or had laminated floors and I wish they would fix the security door its been broke for 2 years with broken promises to fix it , has not happened

          Good based on price, space, and neighborhood. Downtown is within walking distance. Quiet neighborhood. Maintenance is 75% reliable. They have fixed most of my issues but others have remained unusable since moving in 3 years ago. The property has a gym on site but it's usually unavailable as staff has to leave and lock up building at random times of day and the gym it's self is open 9-6 so those who work usually have a one hour window to use it. Winters are rough here, the plow job after a snow storm is subpar and they usually don't salt the parking lot or shovel the sidewalk.

            I have zero complaints, I've had the a/c unit go out on me & management had it repaired immediately. The management team has been great at responding quickly to any questions I've had moving in. The apartment itself has been peaceful,the location is convenient .

            My living experience here has been disastrous to say the least. Based on my experience, I would never recommend someone to ever live here. From my AC going out for over a week in the summer with my newborn, to now moving to a different unit and now having water come from beneath the floors in my kitchen. This is not even half of what I dealt with in the small amount of time I've been here. You couldn't pay me ANY AMOUNT to stay at this place again.

                I BEEN A RENTER HERE FOR 31/32 YEARS . AND THIS NEW MANAGEMENT HERE IS FOR ----. WE HAD NO POOL OPENED THIS WHOLE PAST SUMMER. 85 TO 100 DEGREE WEATHER ALL SUMMER LONG. THEY GAVE ALL KINDS OF BS ABOUT WHY WE DIDN'T HAVE A POOL... THEN SAID IT'S NOT PART OF THE AMENITIES. ALTHOUGH THEY RAISED OUR AMENITIES FROM $25 TO $60 OR $75.. NO POOL LAST SUMMER FOR OVER 45 DAYS. I GUESS THEIR TO CHEAP TO HAVE A POOL COMPANY TO CORRECT WHATEVER BS THEY SAY IS WRONG WITH IT. THEY RAISE THE RENT EVERY YEAR AND HAVE HAVE ONE PERSON IN THE OFFICE OCCASIONALLY. THE OLD OWNERS HAD 2 GIRLS IN THE OFFICE ALL THE TIME.. THEY CUT OUR SERVICES BUT KEEP RAISING THE RENT.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPLEX TO ANY ONE .. LOOK ELSEWHERE ..I WOULD MOVE BUT I BEEN HERE TO LONG..AND THEY KNOW IT TOO EXPENSIVE AND A HASSLE TO MOVE..I LONG FOR THE OLD OWNERS AND THE WAY THEY WERE PAST RESIDENTS...

                  Before the newest management team it was not a good experience most times. Things were bad when they came in and some things still are. New management is trying and comminicates way better. I think there was just a lot to deal with, I have ab issue now thats is being resolved and I am glad things are getting better

                    I would highly recommend hampshire apt. The place is spacious and pet friendly .close to shopping and work. People who live here many of them are friendly. Not to much noise. Also it has laundry facility. And security door.

                      It could be better but my main complaint is, we need better parking with better lights outsides, paying attention to cars that are parked in "normal" spots for an extended period of time.That DO NOT GET TOWING stickers. Cleaning the carpets in the main entrance instead of putting air fresheners. It doesn't help it makes it worse?

                        I MISS ANDOVER MANAGEMENT! Nothing is as good as my first 10 years here. Can't afford to move unless I can get into senior living facility. RENT IS RIDICULOUS; SENIORS could never afford this on their own; my son pays half the rent and I am still broke between paydays. There should still be discounts for those who work at public institutions (Police, Fire stations and schools) as well as senior discounts.

                          bathtub keeps chipping although it was supposed to have been redone twice. Unit i toured is not what i was given on move in date. Apartment is not updated and no lights in any of the rooms so make sure you purchase lamps. Stove is gas although unit i toured was electric. Laundry room only has 2 working washers and dryers and has ants. Hallway of complex very outdated and unfinished compared to the rent price.

                            The community is great. It's quiet and we feel safe. Most of the Neighbors in my building are neighborly. We dont see a lot of crime around here. If the rent didn't go up every year we would probably stay longer.

                              I live on the south building but only use the north entrance because the south stinks so badly. The carpet in the entry, up the stairs, and down the halls probably have never been cleaned. Since everyone has a dog in this building, I'm assuming that they are tracking in urine and whatever else from outside.

                                When we first moved in, we had an issue with the employee turnover rate. The person you'd directly deal with in the office was there for 3-5 days and then a new employee would be there. It made it really frustrating because it was their word against yours. After the management changed, it got a lot better. They finally opened the community hub on the Hampshire Park side and since that point, they had become very accommodating and considerate to their residents. Raven has been extremely helpful and so kind. Her kindness has been extremely wonderful. We've had bad luck with many apartments, and by far, this has been the best community that we've lived in.

                                  The updated apartments are beautiful on the inside. Very spacious with a lot of closet space. It absolutely feels like home. I face the court yard and during the summer and fall nights, its very peaceful with nothing but tree frogs. My son and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.

                                    So far it's living here is okay, downside is hallways aren't clean especially with big dogs the neighbors have and also neighbors don't clean up after their dogs, EVER! so the sidewalks/grass are always filled with poop literally everyday, other than that decent community.

                                      Everything has been good so far except this year. On October 23rd I called in to have my furnace fixed. Didn't have heat until November 18th. I had to call almost everyday to hear next day it'll be fixed or parts in the mail. They did give me a lil portable heater to heat my 2 bedroom apartment.

                                        I would highly recommend that you NOT choose Hampshire Apartments. The only nice thing about them is the rooms are big. Lord how I wish we had done our research. They are very old and dirty. Water issues are a major problem. Hallways, entree ways, mailboxes, laundry room are totally disgusting.

                                          Several major leaks in the building in common areas. Neighbors are nice. Only hot water comes out of the tap. It's not the worst place I've lived, but there's work that can be done. No outdoor sockets even though you can only use electric grills.

                                            I like the community, but I would like for my apartment to be more up-to-date and renovated So I would like somebody to please talk to me about getting my apartment renovated and if not, how do I move into a new renovated apartment to keep me to stay? I'm willing to have my apartment renovated and stay in it while they do it and if we could do something about the noise of the people upstairs running all night sopping my head.

                                              We loved it the first year. Very affordable and spacious apartments. The rent renewal increase was a bit much for us. So much that It makes our apartment not worth what we are paying. We have a 2 bedroom 1 bath and with doing some research we can definitely find more amenities elsewhere for the same price we are paying here. We do plan to move out of this community this year. It's a shame. We really do like it here but the increase just made it not desirable.

                                                Very pleasant atmosphere....however newer residents do not honor the protocol! They do not pick up after their pets, I've seen some dropping trash from bags and don't pickup behind themselves! Clutter the laundry room with debris...etc. I love my complex just wish there was more care involved towards other residents! ??
