I have been here almost 10 years now. The rent goes up ten dollars, so what that's apartment living. The parking is only a problem on one building, and the management is working on that. They don' just rent to anybody, they do a complete criminal background check, and if the people pass and have the credit they can rent, as for the music, complain to the management and they will take care of the problem. the staff is most helpful and will fix the problems.

The parking is terrible because of other tenants that own more than one vehicle and lately, they have leased out apartments to people who play their music extremely loud every day. Also this apartment complex goes up on the rent EVERY year, and they are so desperate to rent their vacant apartments, they are renting to almost any one. The grounds are well kept but I am tired of the increases in my rent every year.I will not be renewing my lease next year.

I have lived here for almost 4yrs now and love it! This is not just "a complex" but a tight knit community of friends and neighbors looking out for and making happy memories with each other. This is my little slice of heaven year round and club med in the summer for me. The pool is a great place to go on those hot summer days and an awesome way to meet your new neighbors! Most weekends there might be an impromptu community grill out with neighbors coming together with whatever they might have on hand to share. The grounds are beautiful and always kept clean and trimmed. The courtyard is a great place to walk the family dog or sit under a shade tree and watch the parade of people and pets or even toss the ball around with the kids. The buildings, (hallways, entryways and laundry rooms) are kept clean and smelling nice. The maintance of the outside on the buildings are also clean and cleared, Exspecially in the winter! The office staff is very friendly and always there with a welcome smile and eager to see to any problems I may have, though they are few and far between for me. When I do have something that needs attention they are quick and very efficient to see it gets done promptly. The maintenance crew is also friendly and happy to help. They are efficient in doing their job and go above and beyond their job! Like when the dog I was sitting for ran away and without me asking they dropped what they were doing to help me coral the dog. See, the staff is caring and happy to help in anyway. My apartment is spacious with an awesome view of the courtyard. I simply love it here and I really can't say anything bad about this complex and could go on and on about why you should live here. MS

Nice place with one MASSIVE drawback
My husband and I love the complex, love the community, love the area, love the size of the apartment - but there is not a single building that is smoke free. And by that I mean that every single building smells like an old bar and the owners tell you it's the "cleaners they use" that cause that smell. No. It's not. It's the constant cigarette smoke. I was really upset to find out that the building doesn't as much allow smokers as cater entirely to them. We are the only people in the entire building that aren't chain smokers and IM ALLERGIC. We managed to slog through the last couple years here because the balance was about 50/50 on people who smoked but we are not the only non smokers and despite every one of them having lovely patios, they all chain smoke as much as possible inside. My advice: Be aware, because they certainly didn't tell us. In fact they went out of their way to CONCEAL this fact by lying about the smell. If you smoke, well then you'll probably love it here. It'll be like a party...all the time. If you don't, RUN. Do not come and live here. Especially if you have children and don't want them having a constant source of second hand smoke.

I have now lived at Hampshire Park Apartments for a year now and am so happy that I chose this as my home. It is such a friendly community filled with warm, caring people. I have felt "welcome" here from the first day that I moved in as I walked through the courtyard and residents would say, "Hi, my name is.....welcome to our community." I have never lived anywhere that has been as friendly and welcoming as HP. I am so happy to be here and can't imagine living anywhere else! I absolutely LOVE my apartment which overlooks courtyard. My apartment is spacious and so beautiful. The grounds are always kept immaculate filled with beautiful trees and flowers. It is so nice to walk my dog around the complex during the day and night. I always feel safe here and feel so at peace! Our staff is always so friendly and helpful and will stop whatever they are doing to listen to any request--or just chat!! They ALWAYS take care of everything promptly. The staff really does care and makes sure that we are happy and content here. It is so great to have a pool and clubhouse on the property...It is like living in a small resort in the middle of little ole Hobart!! I haven't seen any "cabana boys" at the pool as yet!! Thank you HP for giving me such a great place to live!! I am adding so many happy memories to my life....BG

wonderful living
Since moving here, I have found the managment staff a pleasure to do business with. They actually care about the residents and grounds. Any concern that I have brought to their attention has been handled in a professional and timely manner. The maintenance staff is professional and clean The grounds and pool are kept up and clean. There is ample parking and the grounds are well lit. It is a quiet propety with security on site, with the residents looking out for one another. I would definantly recomend this place to any one.

Great place for first home
My husband moved in a year before we got married. We had a great wooded view. The amenities at Hampshire Park were outstanding. The maintanence department was always right there for us when we needed them. The staff at the complex are amazing. Living here was like living in a beautiful new home. We were so thankful to have such a wonderful place to call "home".

Great place to call home
My husband and I moved here in April of 1998. Our apartment was very large and spacious. We enjoyed the great ameneties such as the grills, laundry rooms, and heated pool. Our apartment faced a nature preserve and we were able to enjoy the wildlife. This was like having our own home without any of the homeowner worries and problems. Thanks for the great stay.

not for a million
Ive been reading the review wars for Hampshire Park & cant help but laugh. There is a little bit of truth to everyone's statements. The apts are big but they're old & in serious need of updating. When I lived there none of my items would stay plugged into the wall because all of the outlets were old/loose. Everyone would agree the grounds are lovely & its the best thing about Hampshire Park. From MY experience, my neighbors were loud, lots of kids, loud music, running in the halls & dirty laundry rooms w/ machines that wouldn't work. I also had items stolen from locked laundry. I mean if a resident is low class enough to steal towels & underwear....We had a lot of car break-ins too & while the lone security guy lives on the premises he doesn't patrol 24/7. I was also aware of the drug users in the hallway for hours. In my opinion, hes there to keep the cops from coming for all of the neighborhood disputes etc. that go on. Apt living isnt ideal. People can be rude & thoughtless. Its important to me that mgmt take care of those issues. Instead, I witnessed office staff gossiping about residents. I was glad to get out of there & into my own home. Would I ever live there again? Absolutely not.

Nice Apartment Living
I live at Hampshire and have been for for 11 years.. I had always owned a home. When my children grew up I decided to try an apartment. Well here I am.. all these years later.. I LOVE it here. The staff is great, they take pride in the grounds and are very speedy to fix or resolve any problems a resident has.. We have wonderful residents and very friendly surroundings.I love it so much that now my parents live here and my brother also had lived here.In the summer time I feel like I am on vacation, the pool is nice and everything looks beautiful! I Plan on staying! Keep up the good work staff, you are wonderful! Thanks for making my apartment living experience a great one.

So So
I lived here for a summer. It is an OK place. The office staff is friendly, however, almost impossible to catch in the office. The grounds are well kept. There were a few dog owners that didn't pick up. I have a dog and I really enjoyed walking him in the praire preserve directly behind the apartments. The price is steep compared to the amenities you can get at other apartments in the area.

No, No, No, No, and No.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. Me and my family had to move here while we were in a pinch. We lived in a third floor apartment, and the stair cases and hallways were nasty. Poorly kept and extremely dirty. That was the least of my problems. The staff was completely rude to us and looked down on us. On multiple ocassions we would wait to speak to someone, while standing in the office watching and listening to them, for over half an hour. They're snide and ignorant aditiudes were iicing on the cake. Before we moved in, they replaced our carpet. The replacement carpet was a great perk, but the marks the "handy men" left on the wall were not. We were blamed for them, and they eventually tried to charge us for them. I flatly refused, and I had pictures and a recorded conversation to prove they were their since we moved in. The laminate in the kitchen was also peeling up and rather sharp. In the entire time we lived there, we could not get anyone to tend to this. Our apartments were also smoke free, but since when has that stopped someone from smoking? We often complained that the smoke from other apartments would leak into us from the vents, but management just ignored us. I was pregnant at the time, and I am allergic to cigerette smoke. We also lived next to one neighbor that thought it was cool to crank his "system" up at 2 in the morning and blast music. After complaining many times to management, yet again, no resolution. It ended with me pounding on his door after his music woke up my child. He attempted to deny it. At that point, I had a few rude words. The neighbors on the other side of us were complete drunks. Yelling and screaming at all hours. No disreguard for anyone. On top of that, my car was broken into. They took their sweet time to do it as well. Tore through my trunk, busted locks, then stole my radio. Management did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, even after I filed the police report. They claimed it wasn't their responsibility to maintain security. At this point I was so fed up, I left and refused to pay last months rent and additionals they attempted to charge me. The only decient thing to do with this complex was the grounds. They were always nice looking and flowers well kept. Too bad they couldn't put this much time and attention into their tenents and buildings.
