Like lipstick on a pig!!
Beware of the mouse superhighway if you rent any bottom floor appartment here! The "renovations" are cheap and mostly cosmetic. The lowest grade padding and carpeting is placed over dirty floors which cover unplugged mouse holes throughout the corners!! Maintenance came and put one block of poison and one glue board down and never returned! We had to get on hands and knees and shove bags full of steel wool into the half inch gaps in each room and all closets!! We pulled up the carpeting in the corners to find very old mouse TUNNELS where the floor had been eaten away by the vermin!!! There are nicer places to live and better for your health!!

Good place to call home
We are moving out because we are moving out of town but wanted to post a positive comment because all I am seeing are negative ones from people complaining. I guess only the few that have something to complain about take the time to post. I have lived at Fox Hall for about 3 years and we have had a great stay. Sure, the rent has gone up in that time. But what hasn't? We looked around each year when our lease was up but chose to stay because it was the best deal in town for us. There have been many improvements happening lately including the parking lots. Great location was the big plus for us. The rental office always treated us right and had the answers for us although we didn't really spend a lot of time in the office. Good neighbors, sometimes noisy but that is apartment living. We keep hearing and seeing that a new community center is opening soon. It has been in the works for awhile and we are sorry we won't be around to check it out when it opens. Overall, it has been a good place to call home. If you are using this site and postings as a place to help get a feel whether this is a good place to live, I wanted to put in our opinion so you can have something other than a few complainers from this large complex. If you are one that will only use this site as a way to complain, you can just disregard my posting because you won't agree with anything I say anyway.

Problems Galore
This has been the worst renting experience I've had and it started on the first day. Constant mantainence must be done to keep the place from falling apart literally. Only lived here 4 mos. Already, AC leaked and soaked the entire bedroom floor(first day),bedroom door doesnt shut, bathroom door doesnt shut, problems with bugs and mold, closet doors dont stay in track(resulting in an injury requiring stitches),Have had problems with theft by mantainence people, leaks in bathroom, broken AC as well as heat, as you can tell, nothing but problems.

MY SON IN LAW BORROWED MY SMALL PICKUP TRUCK TO MOVE SOME FURNITURE, WHEN HE RETURNED THE TRUCK SAME WAS GONE. HE CALLED THE POLICE TO REPORT IT STOLEN AND THE POLICE ADVISED THE TRUCK WAS TOWED AWAY BY ENSOR TOWING TO THEIR IMPOUND LOT ON YORK RD. IN TOWSON. I CONTACTED THE TOWING COMPANY ENSOR TOWING AND ASKED WHY THEY TOWED THE VEHICLE AND THEY STATED THE PROPERTY IS POSTED AND THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO TOW ANY VEHICLE THEY WANT OFF THE PROPERTY, AS THE TRUCK HAD FURNITURE STILL STACKED IN SAME I ASSUME ENSOR TOWING THOUGHT THIS WAS A DUMP JOB. THEIR SIGNS AT THE ENTERANCE TO THE APARTMENTS ARE VAGUE AS WHAT CAN BE TOWED. I WENT TO ENSOR TOWING AND THEY WERE RUDE, IGNORANT, AND DEMANDED $228.00 CASH BEFORE THEY WOULD RELEASE MY TRUCK, THEY BEING A WOMAN AND ENSOR WERE SMART MOUTHED AND DEMANDING TOWARDS MYSELF AND MY WIFE EVEN AFTER I GAVE THEM THE CASH. THE PERSONNEL AT FOX HILL I FEEL SHOULD GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK BUT AS BUSINESS GOES I DID NOT WASTE MY TIME, THEY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR SIGNS AND TOWING COMPANY AS I KNOW MY CASH WENT RIGHT INTO THEIR POCKETS FREE AND CLEAR WHICH MAKES THEM MORE THEN THIEVES AS THEY CAN JUST RIDE APARTMENT LOTS AND TOW AWAY CARS WITHOUT QUESTION.

I hate it here!
My fiance and I have lived here for about a year and we had enough! We have gone without water, no heat in the dead of winter, no air conditioning when its 97 degrees outside and no laundry facilities and NO ONE at Foxhall Apartments even cared. The staff was so friendly when we first moved in, but right after that, they were rude and always seemed like we were bothering them if we had a problem. If you call the maintenance staff no one will answer and they will send your call to a so- called "call center". Your call and your problem gets lost in the process so you have to call 3,4, even 5 times to get a problem resolved! Foxhall is taking away the "ammentities" that they boast sets them apart from the other apartments such as free heat and free laundry. That all is going away! Even when they did pay for those things they controlled them, so if THEY didnt think it was cold enough for heat--they didnt turn it on!!! The washing machine broke and they didnt care! Dont rent here!!!

Great Office Staff!!!!
After reading some of the reviews, I am shocked. All of my experiences in the leasing office have been very good. The manager has always been available to help me with my concerns. I have recommended this community to many of my family and friends who have moved in and they are pleased as well. Another great thing is that there is no charge to do laundry. Thank you to the staff for being so wonderful!!!!!!

overall bad experience
My wife and I lived at Fox Hall for one year, and we had enough. The people in the leasing office put on a smile before you sign your lease and then once the ink is dry, they are extremely rude, snippy, and impatient. Maintenance is also poor. We had a literal hole in our ceiling above the toilet, and dirty water was leaking down for about a month before someone finally came to "fix" it (after about 4 phone calls requesting maintenance). The leak stopped for a few weeks and then came back. Eventually we just learned to live with the ugly hole above our heads and the dirty water dripping down into a cup. Also, the washer and dryer, both from the 1980s, were a joke. Our clothes would be very damp after 90 minutes in the dryer, and I had to turn the knob with a pair of plyers. We made several service requests on that, and the dryer was never fixed. I'm not the type to write a review about any product in general, but I felt so strongly about Fox Hall that I felt compelled.

horrible!!
Do not move into Fox Hall Apartments. we have lived here for only 8 short months and have had 3 major plumbing problems and 2 small ones. Maintence is awful! You call and your lucky to see someone within 4 hours (even for emergency issues). The people who work in the leasing office, know what a dump this place is but will show no sympathy. The only good thing about this place is there is always a place to park.

Post removed so reposting to save others
Besides decent rent, good neighbors, and location there s not much more to say about this place they call Fox Hall. Neighbors were genuinely nice and would help you in the event something had gone awry. The rent has gone up recently, but I am assuming that it is less expensive than other apartments in the area. Lastly, the location is great considering it is close to many convenient services we all need on a daily basis. It is located right off I-695, Walther Blvd, and Whitemarsh Blvd. Outlined below you will find the laundry list of problems that is the subject of my review. # 1 Parking was always an issue. There were many times where I had to park around the corner from my apartment because there simply weren t enough parking spaces near my building. Parking was so bad that people began parking in front of dumpsters and parallel to curbs near entrances where the flow of traffic and driver visibility was heavily restricted. That only lasted until the ravenous tow companies, that many of us know all too well, came in the dead of night to take their car for a ride. The only exception to this rule was one maintenance man who parked his car parallel to the curb opposite to the only entrance/exit in the complex. I presume this was also evidenced by the dent on his door, which probably happened when someone didn t have enough space to maneuver his or her vehicle. # 2 Noise is a problem. Especially when you have a neighbor who likes to blast the music in his car at three o clock in the morning on a workday. You can also, by default, pick up the conversations of your neighbors through the paper thin walls. # 3 The grounds were not well kept at all. When you would pass by the rental office and go toward the community center , they will often fail to mow the lawn on the left where there is a hill. The grass at the top of the hill is cut, but not on the hillenous side. Also, when there was snow and ice they never shoveled the walkways. They just threw down salt and left residents to fend for themselves when walking to their door. The sun did a better job of melting the ice than the salt. Be careful about where you park after you ve had your car washed and polished. They will often trim the lawn or mow the grass and leave your car a mess. You will find grass clippings, dirt, and all types of unwanted debris on your car. # 4 As far as safety is concerned; my car was broken into and pillaged. When I first moved in, there was not enough lighting upon the approach to my building. They later installed a brighter streetlight, which did little to help the dimly lit ambiance they have created at Fox Hall. The knob lock to my front door did not lock and could be forced open with little effort unbeknownst to us. Luckily, we found out by accident before anything disastrous occurred. Lights will occasionally go out in the hallways, but maintenance will be in no rush to replace them. Considering that the front doors to the buildings do not lock, one would think proper lighting in the stairwells would be of utmost importance to safety. # 5 The construction of the apartment was horrible. The toilet and entire electrical outlet had to be replaced in my apartment. The fuse box in my apartment melted causing all power in my apartment to go out. The entire fuse box needed replacing and maintenance was reluctant to even come out and take a look at the problem. The maintenance man told me that someone would be out to repair it in two days. I pressured him and was able to have an electrician come out the same night and replace the box. This was good news, but having to hear saws and hammers till two in the morning on a workday was not. I awoke in the morning to find a huge hole in the kitchen wall where the fuse box was located. It was left this way until maintenance came a month later, using drywall and chicken wire as a means of repair. The toilet would leak and so would the dishwasher. The water pressure was weak and the water temperature would change without warning. There were times when we were almost scolded because of abrupt water temperature changes. Not to mention the A/C blew warm air during the summer and the clothes dryer did the opposite. # 6 Maintenance was nothing short of horrendous. On average it took maintenance one month to resolve issues. You were told to call the emergency maintenance number, but the repairman would show up at his discretion. If you move here, which I suggest you don t, make sure you make note of the reference numbers for each call you make to maintenance. The problem was more than apparent when I had to write a handwritten letter in the rental office at the rental office employee s request to escalate the issue. The maintenance men I encountered were nice, but this means nothing if they can t fix what s wrong in a timely manner. Maintenance issues were seldom repaired the first time meaning a subsequent follow up was required. Maintenance issues could single handily be the downfall of the Home Properties management staff. # 7 The staff was typically incompetent and unhelpful with the exception of a few. There were times where I paid my rent in full, but was sent a letter from their corporate office claiming I owed money. Their bookkeeping is not up to par. Some staff members will not acknowledge you when you walk into the office. They will continue chatting amongst themselves or simply continue with their daily tasks. You should not as a resident have to say, excuse me , in order for someone to help you. When a customer is in your presence, drop what you are doing to help them. Residents pay your salary. When you express interest with Fox Hall, they will tell you about the state of the art Community Center they are building to lure you in. The so-called Community Center is a miniscule block of concrete a few yards away from the rental office upon which nothing has been built for over a year. To boot, Fox Hall has recently increased rent. I have not detailed all of the issues I experienced at this apartment, but what has been outlined so far should be sufficient enough for you to pass sound judgment. As stated before, once you are able to look past the issues that have been outlined above, you will notice a few nicer things about Fox Hall. Decent rent, good neighbors, and location at this place they call Fox Hall. If you would like a less than average renter s experience, then Fox Hall is the place for you.

I have lived here for 3 years now and every year it gets worse and worse. I will be moving out at the end of July because of all the maintanence issues I have been having. The property manager has not done a thing to help out. There is a serious breakdown in communication between everyone who works here. It is best to just pay a little bit more and actually get the service you deserve.

In response to Foxhall
Dear Foxhall, though you are taking steps to better the area in which we live, (yes I currently live there) you still are overlooking one of, if not, the most important thing, CUSTOMER SERVICE, from your rental office AND your mntc. staff especially. Its something everyone expects and to be honest, we sorta pay for it on a monthly basis. We pay for things to be fixed in a timely manner. We pay for calls to be returned to us. For Christ sake we pay you your paycheck. The arguement you use about owning your own home is petty at best, I own a home and live here, so save it. I must admit, your mntc. team is 90 percent of your problem. i own a business and deal with issues everyday, and from an outsider sort of looking in through a window, you need to clean house ASAP. As far as making everyone secure, I dont think thats what the person is getting at. What you should have done at the very least, and what I think they (as in residents who work hard to pay your rent) were looking for, was some sort of warning. A letter perhaps about the CONVICTED child rapist that now is a part of this community or the lady that was attacked walking to her car and literally kidnapped. You owned up to and acknowledged nothing, making people believe you simply dont care. Just give me the rent and go away, that is what we see from you. Personally I have 4 issues in my apartment that have yet to be addressed, my calls are still not returned and nothing has been fixed. Par for the course it seems. Shame on you Erica (property manager) for allowing things to go so out of control, and shame on us (the residents) for thinking things would ever change with Fox Hall

Hell On Wheels It just Keeps Rolling!
We have lived at Fox Hall for 2 Years. Our First was great until my husband and i came home to find that there was a leak in the apartment above us and water had leaked all over our bathroom. They came and drilled, left a mess and said Maintenance was here. I called fox hall to complain and they told me to call the maintenance office. Then Mold began to grow in our Bathroom. My husband has asthma and so do I. We then moved to another Apartment within the community. Why, oh Why did we do that!!!!!!!!!!!! We had Mice, Mice and More Mice!!!!!!!!!They could not kill The mice. I would see the m in the Middle of the night and I had two small Babies. The bathroom sink was falling apart and there was more mold behind the toilet .The hot water would not work at time, we had a leak in the Bathroom that lasted for more than 2 months, The water stopped working and they never bothered to tell the tenants that the pipes froze. Hell on Wheels come from when we decided to move out early w/o breaking our lease they gave us a hard time. They charged us more to move out than it was to move in. If you have kids do not move here. They are going to charge you for every mark or spot. They even took away free Laundry, heat and free water. I would not recommend this place to any one.

hell no- THEY ALLOW CHILD MOLESTORS TO LIVE HERE~!!!!
Where do I begin. When I first moved in 3 years ago I thought it was the best place to live. Then I guess we got new management. Every year they jack the price and then take something away. First it was the free water and then it was the cable. This time around they are taking away the free heat and making the laundry rooms coined units so bye bye to free laundry. My apartment has flooded 4 times with other peoples fecal matter coming up in my tub...YES MY TUB!!!! Then last week I find out thay a CHILD RAPIST lives in the building next to mine. I have a 3 year old daughter and when I called in concern they told me to MIND MY OWN BUSINESS....maybe they hate white people I dont know but I think they do. They dont even do crimnal background checks on the maintenance men who have keys to your apartment. One time I walked in and a guy was in my apartment for NO KNOWN reason. and they always try to keep your security deposit...all my nieghbors had to fight to keep it. Also a woman was kidnapped right at her car in the complex and robbed and dropped off in the city ....check for it at wjz.com and search parkville and the story will come up. When I asked if they were going to warn people they said NOOOOOOOOOO. Nothing is new yet you pay the same price as all the other nice surronding apartments.

its apartment living...what do you expect???
why is it that people only post things when something goes wrong in their apartment and not when something is done right?? i would just like to say that fox hall is a very nice place to live, maintenance is not perfect but they do their best and if it is something that they themselves can not fix they will get a contractor to do it. it does sometimes take them a little while to fix small problems (like a door coming off the hinges) but major problems they have always done in a timely manner, whether it be that they got it all done in one day or they had to order parts/get contractors it has always been done right and to my satisfaction. I have never had any issues with the girls in the office, they have always been attentive and very nice to me when i come in, they are always smiling and when ever i have been in the office and they were dealing with an irrate residnet they have always held them selves well and tried to do everything they could do to fix the problem. The pool i think is very nice and they keep it up and it never seems to crowded when ever i am there, the fitness center is a nice convience and i have never had to wait to use any equpment. The communtiy over all is very nice and quite, it is kept up very nice and I dont have any complaints. All i would like to say is that people need to understand that you live in an apartment and things happen from time to time, there is nothing that managment can do to prevent your heat/water/ac from not working they can just send someone out to fix the problem. there is nothing that management can do to prevent mice or any other bug for that matter from getting into your home. it would be the same if you owned a home you would have to call an exterminator to come out, and Fox Hall has an exterminator that comes out every week. I live on the top floor and the same week that I called to complain about a squirell in the attic the exterminator came to fix the problem then came back to do a follow up. If you owned your home you would come across the same problems that you would have in an apartment the only difference is that you would have to pay out of pocket to have the issues fixed and there would be no one for you to blame!

Management is Fu***** A*******!!!!!!
I'll say this! Management is the worst I've ever seen! Those lazy ----- sit in the office eating candy and donuts and don't do a damn thing! They don't respect they tenants who pay there damn paycheck first off! They are rude as hell and quite frankly it shows me how either dumb they are or simply uneducated hood rats! Simple requests from them turn into literally knock down drag out fight and makes me lose my temper because of such poor attitudes and I'm simply a better person then them! Hell you gotta watch if maintenance comes in and does work and make sure personal items don't disappear! The parking is horrible! You got people with so many cars you don't have a place to park! The lighting is terrible! During the snow they don't even get out there early enough before people get up to goto work do salt the walkways or plow the parking lots so either you bust your behind walking out or worst! Dog crap all over the damn grass cause ignorant tenants are to lazy to clean up after they friggin dogs! You can hear every damn thing thru these walls! Loud doors shutting in the halls wake you up in the middle of the night! Trash don't get empty soon enough and pours out! Its like cmon no people! I can keep going on and on about Fox Hall Apartments! Its not worth moving here or even considering a place like this to live! Beware to all who lives here....in the end you will pay dearly for a bad choice as i have! DO NOT TRUST MANAGEMENT HERE! THEY ARE FISHING FOR BONUSES, and once they get you in here, you're stuck! Ima god fearing man so take this how you choose to but THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST APARTMENTS EVER!

Worse bunch of idiots ever to manage an apartment complex!
I saw these reviews before I moved but thought oh no it cant be that bad! I was absolutely wrong. They got me with the cheap rent special they were running but never again. The day I moved in I realized it was a bad idea but I already had signed the lease when they told me my money needed to be in the form of a money order or cashier's check. I've never heard of an apt complex not accepting a personal check and I've rented several apts through Maryland and other states. And of course they told me this at 12:05 pm after the banks were closed. I was so pissed and set on moving ASAP! But the cheap rent and free heat and laundry, I said ok I'm over that, I can stick it out. Then, my oven stopped working. I called maintenance and the rental office, several times over the past 3 weeks and guess what? My stove is still not working. I called left messages, no responses or returned calls from people who had no clue what was going on. So now its over 3 weeks and oven still broken and supposedly the part that is going to fix the oven came in today and I should have my oven working my tomorrow at the latest. DO I believe them? Hell no! Anyway I am in the process of writing a letter complaining about all the problems that I'm having to the property manager as well as the CEO of Home Properties. I do not believe Fox Hall is in any way an indication of how all Home Properites properties are managed, just the bunch of idiots they have chosen to run Fox Hall Apartments. Listen, I don't write reviews and don't listen to them, but head my warning, cheap rent on a rent special is not worth it because you end up getting what you paid for...... Here is the list of people to contact to address your concerns. I am mailing my letters to them today. The letter that I wrote to ERica Morgan was cc'ed to Michael Stark and Scott Doyle who received their own letters from me indicating my EXTREME dissatisfaction with the management staff here. Please write with your concerns and hopefully changes will be made...... I wrote the property manager, the regional property manager and the Sr. VP of REsidential Property Management. Here are their addresses Erica Morgan Property Manager 2 Duncroft Court Apt TC Baltimore, MD 21236 Michael Stark 6 Garrison View Road Owings Mills, Maryland 21117 Scott Doyle 850 Clinton Square Rochester, NY 14604

SIMPLY AMAZING--of course I am talking about the ingenious ways they keep finding to cost you money-How DO they do it?
First -they hike your rent every time you renew-no surprises there But OH! There's so much more! Then there's the way they keep taking out all those Free benefits you have come to know and love-like water and trash pickup. But hey, the laundry is still free (i guess for now) And it's so nice to have that gas stove and heating!-or it was until we found out they would be charging now for that too-and what makes it extra special is you can't really control what's used and thus the costs-you just gotta take their word for it-yippee!! And for the grand finale .. Drum roll please... their nice habit of getting your cars towed!!! Now I know there are rules to be followed. However, it would have been nice to know the rules when we first moved here-when we interpreted commercial vehicles to mean, well, commercial vehicles (as defined by MD state code) not as defined by Fox Hall. This means my husband now has to park his car on the main street (since they tow it if he doesn't)-and thus it just got hit recently leading us to spend hundreds on repairs and car rental costs. SO if you love throwing money down the drain and the trite response of an uncaring staff- then boy, is this the place for you!!! Ta-ta.

Don't live here
Fox Hall puts on this great impression but as soon as you move in it goes down hill from there. The staff and managment are rude and degrading. My place always has something wrong and they take forever to fix the problem. I never have hot water and the toilet hasnt worked properly since I moved in. There are huge rats that run around the trash and they do NOTHING to correct the infestation. I can honestly say that I rather live any place but here. The staff is dishonest and they act like you are the enemy once you become a lease holder. I hate fox hall and the Rude ppl that they have working here.

We have a winner this time folks
And by that I mean a winning way to anger residents! Wasn't I just thrilled to find that whoever was in my apartment cleaning the air ducts left their mess all over my new couch!!!! I came home after a 16 hour shift to find a huge vent cover, filth, paint and mouse droppings all over my sofa. While I was aware that someone would be here I was not aware that the mess would be left as well. I also found a large piece of broken glass in my hallway when I stepped on it while walking to my bed room. Way to go guys you've found yet another awesome way to treat your residents like crap!!! I have included a few pictures, this is only some of what I walked into last night. Also, since it looks as though my last review was removed when I wrote this one, let me say again that my apartment has flooded twice in the last year and a half. This has caused mold to grow in my unit. our laundry room was also infested with mold. I will include pictures of my bedroom where the pipes busted and flooeded as well as the mold.

Not Satisfied
After completing our contract, we were very happy to be out of Fox Hall. Service was no as bad as some places, but management never answered their phones, if you wanted something, you had to take time off and go over to the offices. I did not like the fact that they controlled your cable or heat. If I am having to pay for these things out of my pocket, I think I should be able to dictate when I would like heat in my home or ac. Also, I did not like the policy concerning the swimming pool. If I paid to live in the complex, I do not think that I should have to pay for a card to swim. I know that all these things seem minor, but it's the little things that count. Also the noise level inside the apartment is ridiculous. Kids are in the stairwell on a regular.
