Everything has been pleasant except the response time and follow-through from maintenance. I have had work tickets that have been open for months. The bbq grill ignitions have been unrepaired for 7 months. The laundry machines/dryers are constantly out of order.

Blair East is an older building, so it has its issues, but the maintenance staff is extremely responsive and helpful. The neighborhood is fantastic with grocery and drug stores on the grounds, and downtown Silver Spring just a few blocks away. The location really makes this an ideal place to live.

The professionalism of the staff needs improvement. Instead of spending time and money to emphasize this sense of community, please use those resources to fix the many hardware issues the building currently have.

Great and convenient community, 1 block from the Silver Spring metro. Giant and CVS and other food and convenience shops within the community. Excellent services and amenities. Staff are for the most part courteous and helpful.

As a first time resident moving from CA, this apartment complex is safe, clean, reliable and honest. We enjoy being minutes from Metro station and DC. We also appreciate the security team on the property. The activities are fun and healthy and we appreciate the fast maintenance team.

Constant, never ending construction. Unreliable elevators and laundry facilities. You can get a much better deal in the area. Says they are a pet friendly building but building is not conducive to owning a pet.

This is a very convenient place to live. I like that I can travel to anywhere in the city as well as walk to the grocery store/drug store. I have enough living space for everything I need and am thankful for the high quality of service from the Blair House staff.

Roller Coaster. I have had the pleasure of knowing a friendly staff and wonderful neighbors, but have had the following occur... sewage leak, bed bugs in the "hospitality suite" and a peeping tom security guard.

So far my experience here has been excellent. The area is convenient, the staff is friendly the apartment itself is very nice. Current issues are that we have light switches that don't appear to control anything and the garbage disposal in the unit is of subpar quality.

Very mixed. Some not very good. In fact, my 96 year old mother is the only reason that we are still residents. Rent has doubled since first year. The current top manager is not a very nice person. Thinks that she knows everything about our unite and really only knows "hear say".

I leased an apartment at the Blair House because of the convenience to my work location; and have had nothing but maintenance problems throughout the years. The contracting firms have been a horrow story. Example: I was informed that during my kitchen's construction work the contract workers would close the kitchen off by draping a large plastic cover over the entrance to the kitchen. I moved everything out of the dining room and covered most of my furniture. When I returned home from a trip, I found everything covered in saw dust. My couch was damaged by all the saw dust and had to be discarded. The workers had even used my personal vaccum cleaner and left saw dust in the cannister. My apartment has never been same. Also, some of the work in the kitchen was done incorrectly; and as of today the microwave has never worked. A maintenance worked attempted to repair the trouble, but could not; and evidently did not care. Now I understand I am facing a new construction project in July 2014. My apartment facing the construction area. All I want is to move to another apartment and get away from "911." Sorry I could not be a little more positive. The Towers Company should hire more employees with outstanding quality control and follow-up experience and skills.

The Blairs of downtown Silver Spring are ideal if you are looking for an Urban Life- Style. It has all the bells and whistles of an active city and yet offers the green space and serenity of a gated community, without the iron bars. It is lined with trees and well kept gardens. I and my little dog feel safe in our daily strolls.

It has been good so far. While the noise level is good, we often can smell the food being cooked in other apartments. One neighbor seems to cook fish a lot and then we smell this throughout our apartment. We wished we had a way of stopping this.

The Blairs is very well run community. The staff is responsive and courteous. The buildings are well maintained and clean. For me the bottom line was the combination of location, price, amenities and size. The Blairs fit the bill totally. I have recommended The Blairs to friends and would do the same again.

Thanks for taking the pool away from us guys. They don't like to mention that one too much i guess. The elevators are problematic and the laundry facilities are in constant need of repair.

I truly enjoy living at The Blairs. The location is ideal for the DMV area. I'm near everything...right across the street from the metro, a short drive to the beltway, and a walk across the parking lot and I'm at the grocery store! Maintenance is very responsive and the concierge are all very nice.

For us, the positives of living at Blairs complex outweigh the negatives. Positives include: strong sense of community with a dedicated LifeStyle Activities Coordinator; promotion of 'Green' Living principles and processes; nearly-100% walk-ability of the area (groceries and liquor stores, pharmacy, top restaurants, barbers/salons, hardware store, movie cinemas, stage theatres, music/concert venue, Metro train and bus, Rock Creek Park, etc. are ALL within a 4/5 block walking radius); pet friendly; some Town duplexes have a fireplace and/or loft area, as well as separate car garages; access to new and convenient 'shared' amenities, like club room and outdoor patio with grilling stations. Negatives include: major construction planned for SEVERAL years in the area of the Towers buildings (then, later, in the surface lot of the existing Giant grocers); the poor/unusual design of the Towns duplexes means that some residents (depending on the duplex) are constantly bothered by opening and closing of garage doors directly below their unit, as well as noise levels from activity that occurs in and around the garages, and around the garbage collection sites in the parking lot. Units including Town and House could likely benefit from a general programme of updating of living amenities (wood instead of carpet, kitchen counters and cabinets, appliances, etc.), since rising rental rates do not seem to match the outdated level of amenities within each unit.

I have been leaving at The Blair tower for 1 year. This property is very very nice location and very convenience for anyone who do not have a car because it closes to the metro station, Giant,Bus station, Downtown Silver Spring,FedEx and Zip car. I love the Blair because their the officers are very friendly and kindliness. Further more, the community is very nice and comfortable, especially fitness room, computer room and many funny activities.So,I love The Blair like as my home.
