There are two aspects that make The Blairs stand out to me. First, the complex is in a truly convenient area - close to the Metro, downtown Silver Spring, a grocery store, and restaurants. Second, the staff is very responsive to maintenance requests, comments, and questions. It's a great place to live!

Nice place to live. Millions of people use when searching for a new apartment home. Your feedback will be read to help make educated rental decisions. To support that, we ask that your review contain a minimum of 200 characters (including spaces), with the hope that you will leave valuable comments for shoppers to read.

Blair east was great, had problems in blair towns. Now in blair house and so far so good with exception of some noise upstairs. I can't fault maintenance for issues at blair towns, appliances do age. Did have small miscommunication about parking, but it is now resolved.

The officers are very friendly, and the weekly community activities are pretty good. The blair east is close to Giant, CVS, which is quite convenient for living. My roommate likes the gym and goes running every day. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the community.

When all my service requests will be finished, I will be happy. Otherwise, so far so good in this new place. Very friendly people here. There is definitely a sense of community and I'm looking forward to the nicer weather when everyone is happier

Our experience here has been quite good. We've enjoyed living within close proximity to the metro station and markets/restaurants. The staff is very friendly and does a good job of keeping us informed of all activities. We would recommend

I've been here about two months, and so far everything has been great! Very convenient location, clean buildings, and friendly staff. Enjoyed some of the Blairs resident events, looking forward to more of those in the spring. I also appreciate the recycling and composting programs available for residents.

Hard to say, just moved in? We've been here less than three weeks. It is nice that they allow pets because we have a cat. I don't have much else to say but have to fill in a few more characters for this stupid survey that I now regret doing etc etc etc

We have lived on the property for the past 9 yrs. roughly. It seems customer service has become much better. And the amenities and community activities has increased exponentially. I would recommend The Blairs to others who are interested

My girlfriend and I just moved in last week. So far so good: the building is nice and we were able to get a parking spot pretty close. However the move-in was not very well designed by the building and there are certainly aspects of it that need to be changed.

We moved to Plaza from the old Blair Towers after 6 years as tenants. Other than some apparent disorganization with accounting/main office, the Blair apartments have always been satisfactory. The concierge, maintenance and leasing personnel are consistently friendly and professional. Would be great if somehow internet service could also be supplied with lease.

I just moved a month ago, I'm really satisfied with the quality of the people, and how clean the building is kept. The staff in the building is friendly and polite. The location is great I drive to work and the commute is 25 min each way. Really great chose.

Things are good here. The building, the neighborhood, and maintenance have always been good. The staff was a little grouchy when we moved in, but the company has made friendly service and adding fun activities a major focus. I think it's going well. There's a knitting club, a jogging club, a book club. It's a nice place to own a dog (I can only speak for Blair Towns on this). It's about a quarter-mile walk to the Metro, and about half that for the grocery store. Downsides - odds are you'll have a bit of a walk from your parking to the door. Occasionally people zip through the parking lot to skip the light at the traffic circle. All-in-all, I think it's a nice place and a good deal, especially if you want to be on the Metro without too much of a big city feel.

Experience at the Blairs has been a good one and perhaps the most satisfying apartment environment that I have lived in. Well maintained property, helpful and courteous staff. Maintenance is always fast and does a good job fixing problems. Overall a good community.

We lived at Blair House for almost 6 years. There are several good and bad things about this building. You can walk to the red line, walk to Giant and CVS, and walk to downtown Silver Spring. The maintenance staff are usually very quick. The workers at the front desk are friendly and helpful. But, this is an old building with several issues. The windows are old, flimsy single-pane glass. The windows do not form a good seal and they do not keep out the wind and rain. The elevators are very small and not good for moving furniture. The building does not have a modern HVAC system, instead there are convectors mounted on the walls. The problem is that management decides when the heat is on and when the A/C is on. So every April/May, interior temperatures in our apartment would reach 80 degrees because management took forever to switch the A/C on. Also, you should know that Blair House has a significant problem with mice. We lived in two apartments in different parts of the building and had mice in both apartments. Our neighbors had mice too. No matter how well we cleaned or how many traps we put out, the mice kept coming back. They enter by coming under the doors or through the holes in the walls where the plumbing comes in. Management has never been able to adequately address this problem. You should know that mice are very well established in this building and they will find their way into your apartment. Finally, the Blairs has been raising rent significantly on all their properties. They are trying to market themselves as "luxury" apartments, comparable to all the new buildings in downtown Silver Spring. But, Blair House was built in the 1960s and it just isn't worth what they are charging. Also, parking and utilities used to be included, but no longer. Parking now costs you an extra $75 month and they just started sub-metering for utilities. So for a 2-bedroom you can expect to pay $2,600 or more. For an old building infested with mice, it's just not worth it. I would look somewhere else.

It is an attractive community - professional landscaping, pleasant building engineering staffing who are very capable in handling apartment repairs and maintenance; good concierge service. In the snowy weather, staff makes every effort to make it safe for us to walk and drive out.

Overall experience has been good. Rntal rates are pricing out seniors that have lived here for over 20 years . They have no need for all of the amenities . Pets are not becoming to me also. I beleive the Blairs have taken a turn in the wrong direction by trying to compete

Good location and I like the facility. Be aware that they will give good rental rates to start, but will then jack up your rent dramatically every year thereafter. My rent has gone up 50 to 80% over 5 years depending on how you slice it. They also will start charging for things - parking and utilities were free for several years and now they are starting to charge. So, a good place to live but don't expect to get any love for being a multiple year resident. They don't think twice about raising your rent 20% in one year. As a result, they have really high turnover. Also, I love having a balcony, but Blair House doesn't stop residents from smoking pot and cigarettes on the balconies. So, it's hit or miss if you can keep your windows open.

the walls are thick and soundproof, they fix things quickly, doormen are friendly. Not sure if I will stay once construction starts- between losing the pool and the expected noise and debris, I expect the quality of life factors will go down.

I really like the "greenness" of the Blairs. I like the upkeep/clean and the recycling. I moved from Tak Park & am pleasantly surprised to find an even greener/caring community. The staff is very helpful.
