Generally pretty good--I think the management of the property has improved and that the concierges and security is very cordial. We had to move from one of the Towers building. My one complaint is that we were given a $1000 credit to cover moving--we had a two bedroom, and this did not cover the expense. A few months after we moved in a get your first month free special started--it would have been great if the residents who had to leave Towers and chose to stay at the Blairs had been given the first month free. The discount on parking for the first year was nice, but it is still less than a months rent.

My wife and I have lived at the Blairs since 2007. Great location, reasonable rent for a pretty decently sized 1-bedroom apartment. The Good: very responsive to resident issues, prompt maintenance of minor issues in the apartment, lifestyles program provides a nice selection and variety of community events. Some nice lounges recently added to two of the three high-rises; residents of the third have access to one of the others. Tough to beat the location with metro across the street; as well as a Giant, 24-hr CVS and other shops. Can't speak for all buildings, but our apartment in Blair Plaza has been rodent free, knock wood. The bad: windows in some units are a bit old (occasional leaks and rattle during storms, though we're on a higher floor). Some community repair projects will not be completed successfully the first go-round, i.e. an elevator or door repair may require follow-up work a week or two later (not terrible, just noting). Community pool has closed due to pending redevelopment of part of the site, my understanding is no pool for a number of summers going forward.

The Blairs is a great community to live in. The location can't be beat only a block from the Metro and the shopping center has most of your needs covered. Very pleasant and professional staff from concierge to maintenance. I've had to request maintenance services a few times and they always respond in a timely manner and finish the job typically in one visit. Very spacious apartments with good walls (I rarely hear my neighbors). I would highly recommend living here, I love it!

The Blairs has been an incredible community to join. Since the first day we have felt completely at home. The apartment unit into which we moved is, of course, comfortable and perfectly enjoyable. But what stands out to me is the sense of community I have felt sense moving in. It is easy to tell that management cares about residents and interests in mind. I hear often about new updates and events focused on providing residents with the things they want/need. And thus far I have not been at all disappointed. The Blairs is truly a place that I am happy to call home.

Best community to live with. The property management offers activities where you can meet your neighbors. They always have great ideas such breakfast on each apartment buildings once a month. I feel safe inside, near by the Blairs.

The community is beautiful, safe and convenient to shopping , restaurant and close to the Metro .The people are friendly . I love that the community is animal friendly. The recently renovated areato include to outside porch is beautiful for entertaining when the weather permits. The front dest clerks Carlene and Cheryl are amazing.

It was fine until management seemed to give up on maintaining the building. Now there are bugs, there's trash everywhere, and it seems like they have to shut the water off almost monthly to make repairs. I cannot wait until my lease is up, and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

So far Blair apartments has been a pleasant experience. Maintenance is real good, accessibility to basic needs is an important factor for residents to be satisfied and happy. Closeness to the Metro essential for residents to go to work and to visit interesting places in D.C.

The fact that we have been here 10 years speaks for itself. We occasionally question some of the decisions made, but the size and location of these apartments is unbeatable. In addition we love the tree outside our large balcony. We miss the pool.

The apartment is comfortable, although the building is old. The main negative for us noise from staff throwing large items into the dumpster, which is very close to our windows. We did not anticipate this. Equipment for unloading groceries, etc has been unavailable for some time.

Have only recently moved in, but so far the property seems very well managed and maintained. My only complaint would be the smell of the hallways (from cooking, lack of fresh air) seems like they could really use some fresh air. Same goes for the fitness room - could benefit from some fresh air.

The blairs are clean convenient and quiet, I like most staff. I do not like broken dryers and I hate that there is no pool. I was not told there would be no pool until the day I was to move long distance. Very concerned about upcoming construction noise potential and lack of communication about how I will be effected.

The community is good. There are a number of things to work on, but the renovated apartments are nice. As long as the amenities are maintained and the apartment value to the rent prices is good we'll stay. They like to raise rent though after 1 year.

Recent move in. Punch list of things to be fixed never processed. Our copy of lease not received. Asked Sisay at front desk for help getting punch list items fixed and Blairs staff fixed those items within two days. On noise, one resident was blasting music with windows open at a volume that made sitting on balcony unpleasant. Otherwise pretty quiet.

I have absolutely loved living in this community. The staff is polite, knowledgable, and helpful. My maintenance requests have always been dealt with promptly. The amenities are really beautiful and well maintained. The neighborhood is really nice, the grocery store is right next door and the metro is a 3-5 minute walk. My only complaint would be the noise - my apartment is next to the laundry room so I can hear the washing machines and the AC/heat from the laundry room. Also, the apartment's door isn't soundproof at all.

The community is very good and many nice people live here. Its close to everything and well maintained for the most part. Many interesting events for residents. My main complaint that has never really been fixed is the laundry machines on the 8th floor are always inoperable and put back to service to take our money.

Overall The Blairs have met all of our expectations upon touring the community, which we were very impressed by. The cost-to-amenities ratio is the best we found anywhere in Silver Spring. The front desk staff, with few exceptions, is friendly and attentive, the common facilities such as the gym and community room are clean, new, and well maintained (although I think the wall-mounted TV control system leaves something to be desired, but I'm not here to complain about silly little things like that). The location is ideal; when friends visited this weekend we were able to walk out for every meal, and direct them to the metro easily when it was time for them to leave. Overall highly positive living experience.

Overall, my experience has been great at the Blairs. I?ve lived in various apartments on/off (mostly on) for the past 7 years. The location, proximity to transportation and downtown Silver Spring, and rent to amenity ratio is excellent. I have had a few issues with the Business Office within the past year that have made it clear, the Blair?s is turning away from resident appreciation/accommodation and courtesy- especially for tenants there longer than 1-2 years. As I said, I?ve lived there for 7 years and that has no significance with the Blair?s, when it should- I?ve only had 2 significant issues in that time and I feel they could have been handled much better by the business office, and that is a reason why if I were to recommend the Blairs to any one, it would be with both pros and cons.

The rent kept on increasing with utilities added in the middle of our lease. Dogs were everywhere. i dont dislike them, but that was too much. Barking at midnight was normal. With false fire alarms at 2:00 AM and at 6 AM in three months. The worst part is that there would be a huge project including knocking down three buildings right next to my windows and rebuilding them! Nobody ever told us during our stay and obviously there is no incentive for renewing lease.

Love it here...a no-pet building with large closets and plenty of room for storage. Maintenance is good...have had no problems at all and would definitely recommend to others. Could not be more convenient to shopping, restuaruants and downtown Silver Spring.

Blair has been the best apartments that I have ever stayed in. Everyone is so friendly and matters are handled immediately. Blair has 24hr security, beautiful and clean grounds, green and clean living, pet friendly and friendly staff. All matters that I have had are always resolved quickly and efficiently. I have no complaints with living here and plan to stay here as long as I can afford it.

I already sent this a couple of days ago.. The faucet in the kitchen was fixed; the convectors seemed to be an issue and they told me they had to discuss those with management and I would hear back. Now I have a reminder to do this survey again.. I will but already did., and this is not the same survey I did.. the survey was on how well the maintenance was done. I have lived in this bldg. since the 1980s.. I do wish when folks lived in a unit as long as I have that it is taken into consideration that more maintenance or some changes need to be made.. things wear out or don't function properly. The worse thing is the windows, it is like a draft in the winter especially after the sun has set.
