Here are the positive factors: 1) close to metro; 2) close to the grocery story and dry cleaners; 3) spacious apartments; 4) nice kitchens, if you like to cook and upgrade to the ecopads; and 5) great gym facilities. Here are the negatives: 1) the hallways can be loud, especially on the weekends; 2) old crank-style windows are poor noise and energy insulators; and 3) bathrooms are small and have no vent.

Stay clear from this place. The price does not match the value. The communication between staff and residence is horrible. Poor management staff. Poor Customer service. I will be telling my company's relocation depratment the experience I've had living here and will tell them to tell new employees in the DC area to stay away from this place.

Top notch leasing staff. Residents are so nice and courteous. Located in the heart of Downtown Silver Spring makes you very accessible to Metro's Red Line and the 495 beltway. Can not beat having a grocery store in the parking lot... along with other shops and restaurants. It is a pleasure to call The Blairs HOME!

I have been living at The Blairs since 2012 and love it! Best place in downtown Silver Spring! They have really gone the extra mile in providing fun and diverse activities for residents. Even with the construction going on, they have been good about accommodating any issues.

close to the public transportation and it only take 30 mins to D.C. downtown and 30 mins to DCA. It is easy to find parking and the shopping center is just nearby. Personally, I like the club house most in this community. It has verity facilities to use. Oh, I have to say the coffee is free to have everyday.

The place is great- clean, new appliances, close to the metro/bus, and extremely safe. The move in/on-boarding process is quite hectic. It seems that management was not prepared for my arrival. Otherwise, they are usually quite responsive.

I've been very happy with the blairs overall. While it is a bit on the pricey end, and has had very minor insect issues, the apartments, amenities, and staff are very nice, with a great location. I've also received prompt attention to all maintenance requests.

I greatly dislike the dogs on the community and their owners who have a complete disregard for others in the community, allowing their dogs to urinate and defecate with impunity all over near the apartments. Furthermore, I greatly dislike the smoking outside the apartment buildings and feel there should be no smoking ANYWHERE on the property as I smell cigarette smoke outside my apartment, see cigarette all over the property, and smell marijuana smoke increasingly throughout the property, including the Blair House parking garage, the front of Blair House and Townes and elsewhere.

Great apartment and very close to metro and restaurants/shopping/entertainment. Pet friendly and very safe building. Having a full grocery store so close by is terrific. So far, everyone has been very friendly and patient while moving in to the building.

I have lived here for over 30 years. I moved in here in the fall of 1977. Over the years I have seen changes both good and bad. For the most part, I have not been too disappointed with what has been done. I guess my complaints would be small ones and not that significant.

Go with Verizon here, not Comcast. I have had nothing but gracious amounts of trouble with Comcast. As far as everything else goes, make sure you have the keys to the apartment before you have the Ikea furniture delivered. It can get to be a hassle otherwise.

I have found friendly, knowledgeable staff who respond well to concerns raised. My apartment has good usable space and is well maintained. My neighbors are friendly, making my transition to high rise living from a much smaller apartment facility enjoyable.

One of the best things about this community is the maintenance team. They are incredible, always responding quickly and fixing the problem as soon as possible. The concierges at my building are also fantastic -- always friendly and helpful.

The apartment is a fancy place to live. It is safe and convenient. Residents here are friendly. You can always find all kinds of activities to meet interesting people. However, you can hear sound if your neighbor is watching TV when the volume is too high.

I moved in last winter. I enjoy living here. Safe, quiet. Concierge are very friendly and genuine. Very convenient location. In house yoga classes are awesome. Courteous staff. Nice neighbors. Bike friendly. Eco-friendly: Provides composting bins, electric car charge stations, etc.

My apartment is by the trash area so it is loud when people put trash in the dumpster or there is trash pick up. The fire detector is too sensitive and goes off very frequently when the oven is used at higher temperatures or I fry anything. I can hear people walking around in the apartment next to me and above (floor squeaks). I think the pool should have been open this summer especially since construction/demolition didn't start. Or we should have been given free access to a neighboring pool.

I have enjoyed my stay at The Blairs thus far! My only disappointment would be the closure of the pool this summer. Construction has not begun and it seemed to been poor planning not having the pool open for the summer. A missed opportuinity!!

Overall my experience with the Blairs has been great. It's a friendly community, great neighbors, lovely front desk staff, and great maintenance. If you're looking for a place in Silver Spring, the location can't be beat (proximity to the metro and grocery store). My only complaint would be that my experience hasn't actually been smoke-free - I often smell smoke in my hall and room but it can't be pinpointed. Management has sent letters to neighbors, but the reality is you pay a premium for smoke-free and the Blairs can't do much to stop people from actually smoking.

Everything is convenient! You have 24-7 concierge, a grocery store right next door, the metro within a 5-10 minute walk, plenty of places to eat, nail salons, cleaners, a liquor store - we couldn't ask for anything else to be more nearby! Usually, you expect higher prices associated with that but we got a great deal for a two bedroom, one bathroom in Blair East. Best decision we could have made moving to the area from out of state.

The staff at Blair House has been very helpful. It is clear that they want to make things comfortable for you. Although everything has been wonderful with the apartment itself and with Blair House staff the move-in process was difficult, due to poor communication from the leasing office.

Love prox to metro, shopping, patio, most loved the pool. lost very important next amenity, replaced with another bldg w/o no comm pool. Not right. Plus the BE benches! Punished all for smokers habits.

Really good staffs. Safe and friendly community. Facilities are new. The eco option for the home appliances are great if you live a quality life. Free grills and clubrooms are perfect for friend gatherings. Best for the price in the region.
