This building is simply pretty on the outside and ugly on the inside. Extremely noisy from the halls to the AC/Heat vents. Small apartments with little to no space for your belongings. Rent is high but now they are running specials, wonder why. Half the building isn't full for a reason, and no one that's been here has renewed their lease either besides the PM. She is the only one that seems to be reaping all the benefits of the George! Charge you an arm and a leg for parking in your own building! Events that run up on the rooftop are supposed to end at midnight right? Nope. Events go up until 2 am! with no one in sight to regulate it, people cant sleep and there's random people walking the hallways with these events. Place is just a mess thats not getting anywhere with their poor management.

I enjoy the convenience of The George Apartments. The staff are super nice and the apartments are great. The George is smack dab in the middle of Georgia Avenue, which is pretty busy. You can expect to hear sirens, trash trucks and traffic at any given time of the night.

This community makes an effort to ensure their residents are happy. They have monthly events and makes an effort keep clients informed through email communication. The Safeway, Wheaton Mall, and Starbucks is close by for your shopping convenience.

I've been living here for a year or so give or take, and I'll have to say that living here has truly been an eye opening experience... and not in a good way. The reviews of people seeing roaches, spraying roaches, killing roaches... either you brought them in with all your sht or it's from the homeless/drunk population in the building, which is a large group. Sometimes it feels like I'm walking into a group home when coming home to The George. For the record, I've never seen a roach or any other insect/ rodent... I'd be OUT! The amenities, forget about it.There are none. Electric bill... mine was over $500 during the winter months... one resident had to get space heaters!!! say what! It feels like a dorm living here. Everyone sleeps with everyone at The George, even the PM:/ really though. Half of the residents here are either unemployed, homeless or have undesirable professions. There ARE SOME young professionals in the building, two or three maybe. Safety is a big concern here. Every single week we have police, animal control or the fire department here. Over the summer there were gun toting thugs that came into the garage behind a resident and made their way into the building. Police were EVERYWHERE! Did residents receive an email, reminding us to be safe... NOPE, nada. We do now have a "courtesy officer" on staff. I feel a lot safer now. NOT! What do they do again? Lock the pool.. Uh, we have no pool. He does absolutely nothing but wobble around. I thought cops were supposed to be in shape... I digress. Anyway Maryland must have a surplus in resources to pay someone to lock a pool that doesn't exist. Side note, visitors parking is limited to two spaces. Everyone else has to either park in metro parking or park on the street and risk being towed. Residents have to pay for parking, however if you're parked out front and go inside to check your mail then back out, your car may not be there when you return. Visitors parking passes are limited and only available during certain hours. Inquire within... If you dare.

It has been wonderful from day 1 that I found the apartment. Then I scheduled to view the apartment and got the offer as expected. The service in the lease office is brilliant! I want to thank the team for working hard to make my life comfortable.

Please take heed to ALL the reviews even the positive ones that the actual management team are posting anonymously. This place you cannot call home. The staff of the George are liars, the rooftop deck closes at 11pm, not 12. You can go up but you will not be able to use your fob to enter any of the amenities at 11. This is wrong, especially when you tell residents that it's open till midnight. The only way you can get in is only if another resident is there and they open the door for you other than that forget about it. I HATE THIS PLACE. I would NOT be renewing my lease, things aren't changing. Management responds to nothing asked, they always have an attitude. It's just hell living here, I will say the tenants are friendly and kind. The topic of conversation amongst majority of the tenants are about how the building is ran. I honestly think that if kettler takes its time, interview and hire the right professionals for the job this place would be better. Presently its managed by a property manager that uses the amenities for her own shendigs, leasing staff that's lovely and easy to talk to until you sign your lease then they snap at you when you call in and ask a question. Also every review on the electricity are completely accurate, it does not matter how little you use your electricity your bill is always going to be in the $300 or higher zone. Bottom line try next door in either direction, you will be better off. You do not want to put your hard earned money into a property where you're not respected as a tenant or you're lied to by management.

I was trying not to even bother with writing a review. However ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. After speaking with several residents in the building we are teaming up to contact The George's corporate office. Please, take heed to the reviews that are on this platform. This entire building is a huge rip off. First and foremost management is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. Like many other tenants I to was fooled by the shiny amenities. Truth is you are paying so much money for amenities which cannot be used. Yesterday management had an event on the rooftop from 4pm-12am, well that was supposed to be the cut off time, needless to say the person that threw this "event" was the property manager herself whom by the way does NOT even reside in the building. The party went on until 2 in the morning. There were loud obnoxious people everywhere not to mention the elevators were unavailable because of the high traffic. To make matters worst today 8/16/2015 a spur of the moment email comes in stating that the rooftop is once again booked, mind this is short notice and residents should not enter. Wth is really going on here? Mind you this is an ongoing problem with this place. Next thing is your electricity bill is always going to be sky HIGH why you ask? Because management once again failed to inform tenants especially the tenants from floors 1-5 that the share meters. Every last tenant complaint is the cost of electricity. My next door neighbor he was in North Carolina for a month and returned to a $250 bill it's ridiculous. Next beware THERE ARE ROCHES, huge ones. There is absolutely NO PARKING unless you park in the metro where you are likely to be murdered or mugged upon getting in or out your car. Most of the good reviews on here are from the George management team because the majority of the tenants have had it and we are presently figuring out a time to host a residents meeting where we can get some written signatures and complaints together to send to the owners of this place. DONT MOVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. To the PM I heard from your own guests on Saturday that you hosted the club party, hood, extravaganza and you were seen here in the middle of it. UNPROFESSIONAL.

I just moved in but the building is nice and the staff is very helpful. I really enjoy the convenience of having a gym on site. The other amenities are great. The best part is the convenience to the metro. The only slight issue is parking as the onsite garage and the first alternate garage are full and you have to pay to part 2.5 blocks away.

The staff and the community is very welcoming. When I had an issue it was fixed that same day. I was also locked out of my apartment late at night and the maintenance was there to help me enter my apartment. I feel safe and comfortable living in this community.

The George is an amazing place to live. The building is right next to the metro, Safeway, the mall, and a excellent restaurants. At The George itself, the residents, staff, and maintenance are so friendly and helpful. The building and apartments are beautiful, with a clean, modern design. The appliances are attractive and work really well (when they don't, maintenance is quick to fix it). I love our apartment, and everyone I show pictures to thinks it's beautiful too. It's modern without losing that comfort factor. I have two minor complaints. One is the very loud air conditioner. I haven't used the heat yet, so I don't know what that sounds like, but the air conditioner is so loud that I have to make large adjustments in my TV and computer volume every time it turns on and off. The second is that the cabinets in the kitchen are just slightly too low for a kitchen-aid stand mixer. Luckily, the island provides a great location for the stand mixer when we're using it. Neither of these things would have prevented me from renting. The common areas are lovely as well. The rooftop lounge is probably the star with the water/fire feature, great views, and two outdoor kitchens. For me, the gym is a close second. It has free weights, a Smith machine, and a giant TV. The space is decorated with vibrant motivational murals, which I find to be really cool. The cardio area overlooks the same view as the rooftop lounge. The game room/business room is comfortable and has another large TV. All the common areas have free wifi. Besides the trendy decor, The George really shines in the features that it offers. The keyless entry and usb outlets are two of my favorites. In the mornings, I sometimes make myself a coffee at the complementary coffee bar and then check for the metro departure times at the transit center. The package concierge is so convenient, and the staff offers carts to carry large packages. During move-in, a big selling point was the loading dock and freight elevator. If you come to tour The George, be prepared to fall in apartment love!

Note that the positive reviews here are linguistically similar, and mostly sound like ad copy. They are being written BY the building manager and/or staff. The building is attractive (it's new), conveniently located, and the staff will be friendly...at first. Things are not always what they seem, however. The residents in this building are a mix of obnoxious students and what I can only surmise are recently released convicts. Sure, there are a few "young professionals" among them, but they are a small minority and, from my experience, eager to move out. There is noise. Constant noise. It isn't just the endless parade of fire trucks and ambulances screaming down Georgia Avenue, it's the delinquents who live in the building. Yelling, slamming doors, blasting music, partying, and being generally sociopathic at all hours, any day, all the time. The residents here are rude, uncivilized children. It's Lord of the Flies. And those kids have animals. Pit bulls. Not just the well-behaved, properly raised, friendly ones, but the ones trained to be aggressive and violent. The police and animal control people have made numerous visits. Beware. The staff here will of course be friendly when you're a prospective tenant. They work for one reason: to get leases signed. After you're a captive tenant, brace yourself. All those attractive amenities you were shown back then, before you signed a lease? Kiss 'em goodbye. The manager sells access to anyone who wants a place to party, so the lounge and patio will be "closed for a private event" on a REGULAR basis. It is a huge middle finger to rent-paying tenants. Have a problem with the building or your apartment? You'll get friendly words and no action. The location is great, right next to the Wheaton Metro station. Be advised, though, that downtown Wheaton is far and away the hottest hot spot of criminal activity anywhere in Montgomery County. There are frequent muggings, assaults, and thefts. Even a homicide recently. How about that nifty apartment, though? Looks great in the photos! Look carefully, though--the "wood" flooring is a really cheap plastic product. The cabinets are cheap. The fixtures are cheap. The appliances are cheap. It's a terrific example of show over substance--all marketing, and little quality. The heating and cooling are lamentable--the HVAC units sound like airplane engines and they have to run nonstop to even come close to maintaining a livable temperature. On the plus side, it does drown out some of the noise your neighbors will be making. Outside your apartment, you'll find nearly new but puzzlingly filthy carpets and floors, nearly new elevators that occasionally just don't work, and garage doors that get stuck open. The building is reasonably attractive, but it is an illusion created with cheap materials. Last winter there were burst water pipes--in a new building!--followed by weeks and weeks of fans and blowers and other industrial dehumidification equipment living in the corridors to remedy the flooding. This is not what happens in a well-designed, well-built structure. "But the staff were so friendly when I visited!" Sure, they're not terrible people. They are just sales staff, though. They aren't all that effective at taking care of residents' issues. The noise? Maybe they will get things quieted down for a couple of days, but the problem will return and persist. The smoking in the building? Yes, it happens all the time, and the smoke infiltrates everywhere thanks to the poorly fitted hallway doors. The staff will send an email, and everyone will go on smoking, and you will continue to smell cigarettes and weed in your own apartment. Nothing will really change. I got out of this place, mercifully, and relocated to a very nice property in Rockville. It is quiet, well-managed, and populated by *adults* who are considerate and respectful. The difference is stunning--such a tremendous increase in quality of life.

I live right !!!! ABOVE the GARBAGE COLLECTION TRUCK TRASH PICK UP AREA in apt. 107. Each morning when the professional GEORGE GARBAGE trucks roll in for collection, as well as the noise/banging also from the other nearby neighboring apartments garbage pick up ?- Its understandable!! However, I just wanted to VENT! ABOUT THE GEORGE garbage collection trucks, i.e. (the rising TOXIC fumes coming up from the truck operation into my apartment daily. I rush to ensure my windows are closed immediately and even if closed the fumes permeates and lingers for a while in the apartment. I do UNDERSTAND, as garbage collection is a must for sure. Thanks for listening. I do love living at the GEORGE A beautiful fresh inviting hoe

The George Apts are great overall. They are new, clean and the residents are friendly. There are only 2 things that bother me: the window panes are very thin so the outside noise is a constant and the air conditioner/heater is extremely loud.

Excellent staff, convenient location. Has everything needed. The only thing that I am not happy with is the noise that comes from outside (both traffic and some kind of maintenance work near the apartment building) and from the pets of the neighbors.

We moved in first weekend of June. It?s a beautiful apartment & when you enter the lobby it looks like those boutique hotels. Its right by Wheaton mall & conveniently located by Wheaton Metro station. The pro-love the layout, the club room looks amazing even though I haven?t had a chance to actually go up and enjoy it yet. The leasing staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Cons-The AC/fan has an extremely unusual noise for a residential property. At first we thought something was wrong and requested a main, but we were told nothing wrong with it. We have to turn TV louder and our voice even loud whenever its goes on. Had I known this before renting, it would have altered my decision. Another thing that was such a disappointment is the amount of noise from outside. For a brand new building (opened about a year ago) one can assume that the windows will be soundproof, but not at all. Our unit faces the main road, and there is excessive traffic and car noise even if there are group of passing by a talking loud. Again I would have not rent it if I had know.

Although I have not officially moved in yet, I have just recently decided to make The George my new home. The apartments are brand new with beautiful interiors (wood floors, new appliances, etc.) and it is located right next to the red line. I have looked at several different apartment complexes in the surrounding area, and I found The George staff to be some of the most helpful and accommodating - especially Serita. We looked at SEVERAL floor plans and apartments together, and she really listened to my concerns and needs. I would definitely recommend checking it out!

I recently moved here along with my husband and daughter and might I say that this place is as nice as it looks in all the renderings and photos. The staff was very instrumental in helping us with our long distance move from Miami, Florida to Maryland. Everyday, I thank my husband for finding this place. Rhonda, the Property Manager and Sheldon are fantastic, super professional and nice to speak with. Surrounding Area: The neighborhood is cool with Safeway less than a block away, the Metro station is literally around the corner (which is a favorite of ours for getting to the museums and bypassing the traffic that comes along with driving. There's a shopping mall with all of my favorite stores down the street and many cool places to eat. There is a new LA Fitness down the street and tons of new properties in the surrounding area. There is traffic but is hasn't seemed to bother us while inside our apartment- the builders did a great job with the quality of windows because the sound does not travel through during the day or night. Safety I feel safe when going for a walk with my baby during the day and for me this is a very important factor. I also feel safe while running in the evening, as I often see others working out and exercising. There is garage parking which will be very helpful during the snowy winter months. There are also some outdoor parking spots. The gym, club room, lobby areas and rooftop are kept up nicely.
