angry newcomer
hi people, i just started my lease on 10-31-08 and im already having problems with maintenance! my toilet has been running non stop since 11-13-08 and no one seems to care! i do pay a seperate bill for water so i have every right to be angry. then when i do talk to the "property manager" named cheryl, she acted sooooo unconcerned told me i would have to wait until tomorrow and tried to get smart which was very unprofessional in her end! they are really nice until you sign your lease. looks like i'll end up suing this company real soon...

Potentially dangerous area, nice grounds, rodents in walls, HORRIBLE maintenance, and a carousel of leasing agents
I have lived here since 2002. I wouldn't say I hate this place but you have to go in with your eyes WIDE open. The area can be dangerous... I've seen police raids, people selling drugs on the stoop, and numerous police helicopters scanning the complex for criminals. Someone was robbed at gunpoint in front of my building. A few times random guys have knocked at my door loudly without identifying themselves (I'm assuming attempted home invasion). The grounds are nice... They do a good job cutting the grass and planting nice bushes, but they do pay contractors to do that. LOL Rodents in the walls... I've killed 3 mice since I've lived here. Initially I've had roaches and mice. Boric acid took out the roaches and humane traps took care of the mice. However despite my best efforts, I still hear rodent stampedes above my head late at night and in the mornings. The leasing office claims they are squirrels. Though that is possible, no steps were taken to eliminate them. Fortunately I have seen no sign of them in my apartment. HORRIBLE maintenance... I had a pipe burst in the ceiling of my bathroom. When I notified them of the leak, they covered the hole with a cardboard box. I thought it was a temporary fix initially, but it persisted for a week. I called or stopped by office almost weekly for about 6 months to repair the still leaking ceiling before I called the county to strong arm the repair. They came out promptly and did a half---- job. Of course they didn't bother to paint ceiling and it looks like crap. During this time, one of the repairmen stole a bluetooth ear piece from my apartment. I can't prove it but I find it was odd that both the ear piece AND charger were missing. Carousel of leasing agents... Not really a big deal but during my ceiling ordeal, I visited or called the office often. Not once did I see the same people there. They were too lazy to file maintenance requests that they used to say they only take requests over the phone when I stopped in and they only take request in person when I called! They have horrible office hours. They open at 10am-4 during the week and the agents aren't there during that time. It was a perpetual lunch hour there. They love to enter your apartment.... They like to "inspect/replace XYZ" or turn off the water on a too regular basis. They give a 12-24 hour notice, but usually it's after the fact. Sometimes I have to stay up late hidding my valuables.

Move in at your own risk!
I am not sure if the last three reviews are from the same person. From what the person described, living in Tuscany Woods is like living in heaven! Wouldn't that be nice? But the truth is not exactly nice to hear. That place is fully infested with roaches....tiny little suckers that showed up out of nowhere. No matter how clean your place is...there is always some roaches.....not 1-2 but you will find like a dozen of them roaming around! Police constantly shows up at the location...once I even saw DEA agents coming out from one of the apartment. The management is absolutely hard to deal with....they are very unprofessional and lied to me when i was there. Also make sure when if you do decided to move in...make sure everything is in writing! For the price you are going to pay, might as well move into apartments complex nearby. They are whole lot nicer than Tuscany Hoods! p/s They take anyone that want to move into the apartments..this is why you will see a lot eviction notices at the 10th of the month...

NO PEST PROBLEMS FOR ME
Before I moved in almost a year ago I was wondering what were all of these bad reviews about posted on this web site, but I still went to see the property anyway, and I am glad I did. The staff was great. I know for a fact that moving into my apartment at Tusany Woods was one of the best choices I could have evere made. All I can say to those who roaches wants to cary them out is that, maybe you should try cleaning up for a change. I don't have these kinds of problems, because for one I carry my trash out daily, I keep my kitchen clean, I don't keep food out, etc. We are all adults here and we should all know how to keep a clean home.

I LOVE MY APARTMENT !!!!
I don't know about the previous residence, but my experience with my apartment and the staff at Tuscany Woods has been absolutely wonderful! I just love my apartment and the convenient area that it is located in. The the staff was very informative and pleasant. I really like the leasing consultant Tiffanie who made me feel welcome and was very helpful whenever I needed her.

What???? Unbelievable...
I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to live at this place. They do lie about the ammenities. Ther is no workout room. They have a pool, but you have to buy a membership to use it. WTF are we paying rent for??? My apt has had a roach/mouse problem since the day I moved in. Even though I ask for an exterminator about every week. I am a clean person, but my stuff is getting ruined by living here. I think I will be getting new furniture when I move. I don't want to bring Tuscany Woods filth into the next place I live. The washer and dryer, dishwasher, and water pressure suck. I called for maintenance on a friday afternoon and was told someone would be there in 20 minutes. Saturday afternoon they still hadn't showed up. I call again and am told I have to call emergency maintenance. No answer. Left a message. Monday morning rolls around and they still hadn't called or showed up. So I call the office again and get the same answer again "20 minute". Nope. Tuesday morning I STILL hadn't seen a maintenance person. So I call the office and ask for the person in charge. The girl who answered the phone wouldn't let me talk to her. She kept asking me why I wanted mgmt. Eventually she just hung up on me. It got fixed after a few more phone calls. This place is just trashy. Don't move here unless you want to raise you blood pressure.

refused to help. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
It will be the biggest mistake you have ever made. I asked them to come exterminate my roach infested apt and they told me they only exterminate on mondays. THIS IS TUESDAY!!!! I HAVE TO WAIT 6 DAYS???????? They are horrible here! They were rude to me when I called. I just ot back into town after being gone for almost 3 weeks. My apt was clean when I left. I come home and I can't walk into my kitchen without seeing roaches running off. They are everywhere. I told them I need exterminated today or tomorrow and they said no. Even when I told him that I have a toddler. Oh, and you have to mail in the rent. They refuse to take the rent money in the office unless it is late. PLEASE DO NOT RENT AN APT HERE! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS ------!

ROACH WOODS APARTMENTS
Please help me break this lease! I am trying to find legally how to break this lease. I have been living here for approx. 1.5 months. One week after moving in, the rack in my walk-in closet fell down and it took maintenance 2 weeks to come and fix it. The entire time my clothes were placed all over the floor. When I was able to place my clothes back in the closet, I noticed rat drippings all on the floor where my clothes had been. I had a coach bag, great condition on the floor and it now has bite marks in the leather. The strap and front of my bag has torn marks in the leather. I wonder who or what was eating at my coach bag? Then, if that wasn't enough... three weeks after moving in, the roaches join in the fun. I am making light of this but I am really pissed off! I am a very neat person and can't stand the sight of any bug! I have spoken several times on the phone and in person with the leasing manager. Her response is always the same, "we will take care of it". I call so much that she knows me by name and face. I thought I was getting a great deal with a discount due to me working in the medical field. The apts look great in the inside with the new remodeling of french doors (balcony), laundry inside, kitchen with built-in microwave... but that is all a joke b/c is was remodeled on a pile on roaches. And don't let me leave out the rats!!! I have a hole in my kitchen that a emergency order was placed a month ago to be fixed! I walk in the kitchen to see a LARGE RAT running from the hole! I am still waiting for the emergency maintenance order to be filled ! The sad thing about it is, the last apts. I just moved from, Liberty Place Apts. was of top rated quality, no rats, no roaches, maintenance done same day or next day. However, I just received a new high paying job and wanted a new start with a more modern looking apt. I got modern, but the quality lacks!!! And not to mention all the others problems that I got along with it. Any suggestions, please respond to mail. I can't take much more of this and I haven't even reached six months yet. I am afraid that I will be at work one day, open my bookbag to get my stethoscope out and a roach will crawl out onto my patient! Any legal advice , better business bureau info on breaking a lease without penalties. Just b/c you make good money does not mean that you want to spend it all on breaking a lease for apartments that should be deemed as slums.

I understand
My family lived in "Tuscany (can kiss my ---) Woods" for a year 05-06.NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THE FORMER MANAGER BEFORE RITA WAS A DOLL.IT GOT TOO CRAZY SO SHE RETIRED (I DON'T BLAME HER) MICE AND ROACHES EVERYWHERE. COULDN'T HAVE A PET,AFRAID THE MICE/RATS WOULD KILL IT. RENT WAS RIDICULOUS FOR A 1 BR. RITA AND CREW CARED NOTHING ABOUT THE RESIDENCE,ONLY THE PAYCHECK. MAINTENANCE (3 PPL) TOOK 3 WKS TO FIX MY MICROWAVE. SECURITY--WAS NONE..CAR WAS BROKEN INTO TWICE,MY WIFE WAS ATTACKED IN THE PARKING LOT,IT TOOK POLICE REPORTS TO COVINCE THE MGMT TO HIRE 1 OVER THE HILL SECUTIRY GUARD. DON'T MOVE HERE ! IT'S PUNISHMENT! RIKER'S PRISON HAS BETTER HOSPITALITY.

They should have told me i'd be sharing my apt.... with roaches!!!!!!
The office staff is extremely rude and not helpful. The apartment is disgusting. I can't use the dishwasher because the dishes come out dirtier than they went in. The place is COMPLETELY INFESTED with cockroaches. I also think I saw a mouse or a rat once. I do not feel safe here at all. The "play area" has broken glass all over it. And cigarette butts. I can't let my son play out there because i'm afraid he'll get hurt. The bathtub and sink were clogged with mold and hair when we moved in. I really hate this place and I wish that we never moved in here. I cannot wait to move out and I am SERIOUSLY considering breaking the lease. I have never lived in such hellish conditions. And the rent here is not cheap either!

If you don't run, the roaches will carry you away!!!
I have lived at Tuscany Woods since April and it has been a lie since day one. I was lied to about the following:
1. Rent - Was almost $70.00 more per month.
2. Apartment I was getting - Upgraded my ---!
3. Features in the appartment - Doors, microwave, laundry IN THE APARTMENT.
4. Utilities - I was told they were included.
5. Cleanliness of apartment - I was told they cleaned before I moved in.

I could go on and on. The roaches are everywhere, the rats are everywhere. The paint job looks like my 2 year old cousin did it. The bathroom ties consistantly fall off, the noise is CRAZY! The staff in the office especially RITA are the most ridiculous, unprofessional people I have EVER come in contact with. It's almost worth the fines to break the lease.

The nicest thing I can say is that the maint.guys say hi in the morning!

Living at Tuscany Woods is probably worse than being in hell. It is so roach and mice infected. The property is supposed to be remodeled. It seems they remodeled over a bed of roaches. I have lived here since march and cannot not wait to move. If I could break my lease with out consequences, I wouldn't hesitate. I eat at work and other places to keep from eating in a roach infected apartment. Imagine coming home and a roach falling in your head when you open the closet door. Going to be at night and waking at 4 in the morning to roaches crawling on you. My advice to anyone is to RUN as fast as you can when considering this place to live. They always seem to tack a late fee onto your rent even though you pay on time. I am counting down until I can get out of this place. I have been talking to different places to see how I can break this lease. If anyone has any advice of how to break your lease, please let me know. The office staff is of no help.

BAD MANAGEMENT
i am a resident of tuscany woods formarly known as town and country.i wont recommend any one to have a lease at this complex because first of all they are not at all co-co-operative.the staff is rude they increase their rent without any services to the residents.if you will be calling for maintenance no one will be coming out to fix it for days.you will end up calling and calling.they will just make the rules themselves not letting their resident know that you have to come in for a problem or you have to call.sometimes they say all maintainence reqs have to drop in and sometimes they tell you u can just call.laundry facilities if you are renting without laundry or the earlier residents who are residing there without the laundry at their appt their on site laundry are most of the times out of order without any note and laundry rooms are always a mess.im so upset for making this apartment a choice to live and will be moving out as soon as my lease expires.and yes make sure that u get a copy of signature card when u send them the notice of vacating the appt otherwise they will play tricks on you saying their fax is broken and you will end up with another yr of lease without knowing!
