      A lot of things were unfinished but the staff/maintenance are completing our requests. They gave us an apartment that was newly renovated but it was rushed. We enjoy living here and we are aware that our staff are on top of things!

        The staff has been great. I received an excellent tour and my schedule was accommodated in all cases. The apartment renovations are good. The common areas and facilities are well maintained. The neighbors are friendly.

            I've lived at Hawthorne since January of 2016 when it was Arden Woods apartments. It was bought by Hawthorne in late 2016 and has already improved a great deal. From the start, the office staff has been incredibly kind and attentive. Prior to becoming Hawthorne Midtown, maintenance could be a little slow but since the transition they have been on the ball with addressing all of my maintenance issues. The staff is kind and quick to help when needed. The unit I've been living in has not been renovated and does show it's age some with the paint and how well the windows and doors are sealed. However, the updated units are looking great and they have already gone into my unit and started the process of updating the wiring and replaced the roof fairly early on in the year. I never have had any issue with crime in the neighborhood myself and have had no issues with the appliances in the apartment since move in. All in all it has been a pleasant experience.

                I am pleased with my stay so far. The office staff and maintenance are helpful and courteous. I am not pleased however with the current renovations taking place. It seems more attention is being given to the units near the front of the complex in a effort to attract new residents. Some of the building numbers in the back (close to where maintenance locks up the equipment) where I live are partially covered which could be a hazard in the event of an emergency. There are unfinished/half done projects and there are pieces of the fencing that was removed left in the ground. There was an old tree in front of my unit that was cut down and there are now chips on the ground but it looks ugly. It was a major disappointment that the bushes were cut down as well. I wish there was a little more effort put in to make the area in the back of the complex look more attractive.

                  My building is overrun with mice. I am currently being charged for the exterior breezeway light so my electric bill is always around $215 per month. I would not recommend this community for these exact reasons.

                    Very quiet and peaceful. Great place to live if you have small children. Also, they have extended office hours to ensure that help is provided when you need them. I would recommend these apartment homes to anyone.

                      I really enjoy living in this neighboorhood. The apartment layout feels like a townhome style. The neighborhood is set back from the busy street and very is generally quiet. The amenties, such as the gym and laundry need to be updated asap, but it is a great place to live overall! I would recommend anyone interested, come check out Hawthorne Midtown!

                        We love the fact that we don't have anyone above or below us. The trails to raise and walk a dog are beautiful year round. I love the location here, you are very close to hopping on the highway for a quick commute!

                          New management does not respect renters. They enter the apartments more than once a month with insufficient notice. When we signed the lease we specifically asked about the policy for entering the property and were assured that this would not happen. Lease holders have been told that they have to move all of the furniture in their apartment that is near a wall on the whim of management's schedule. Renters are never asked about their schedule. Electricians have entered my apartment more than once, when they should have been schedule to do all work at one time. Lease holders are told to crate or remove pets. This means removing pets for an entire work day. This is impossible. I pay monthly rent for the pet. The pet lives here. Stop coming into my apartment. Stop bothering me. I just want a quiet and peaceful place to live. In addition, the apartment is poorly insulated. My electric bill is more here than it was in my previous townhouse which included a W/D (none here), 3 roommates, an extra bedroom, and a much larger living space in general. The electric bill makes the cost of living here through the roof. Not cost effective. The neighbors are mainly nice with the exception of the young males who hang out in the breezeways and on the steps. I don't appreciate being harassed by these people when I'm in the parking lot. The pool is always full of kids so I've never been able to use it. You get one parking spot for a two bedroom apartment. I can hear every word my neighbor says.

                            Noise: Barely any. You will enjoy the sounds of natuer when relaxing on your balcony. Grounds: Neutral colors of the buildings clash well with the natural scenery. Safety: Tall trees with their branches cut provide visibility up close and also at great distances. Shrubs are very organized, you might spot a few families of birds living in them! Neighborhood: Very close to many restaurants, movie theaters, parks, lakes, schools and bus routes. Maintenance: Maintenance workers have brilliant personalities here and will do their best to assist you ASAP. The main office will also follow up with your request to make sure your request was completed. Staff: Staff are very knowledgeable and professional. Every other week staff will send out invitations to friendly events down at the apartments lounge. Overall Random Thoughts: My family has resided at Hawthorne Midtown (formerly Arden Woods Apartments of Raleigh) for a long time now and we have not faced regrets, even through the different managements. It has always been peaceful and you will find yourself feeling relaxed when you open your blinds in the morning or even at night. There are a lot of trees in the area but we have never faced a major outbreak of pest. And if they do appear in your apartment you can request the exterminator that usually shows every other week. The Apartments are very spacious and sound stays within each room very well. Overall I would suggest Hawthorne Midtown (located on Loft Lane) to all growing families and up and coming college students.

                                  I had a wonderful experience with the move in process and still do 5 years later as a resident. The front staff is professional and nice. They aim to please and I love living at Hawthorne at Midtown. I highly reconommend them.

                                    My experience started off rocky, but quickly turned for the better. The floorplans on the website don't accurately represent the actual apartment layouts, especially the one bedroom. It can be very deceptive! Adding to that, is the lack of a model apartment to show. This was almost my downfall! Fortunately, there was an suitable and immediate resolution, otherwise this survey would have gone completely different. Everything has been great since!

                                      Older community, so expected maintenance, but not always prompt or long lasting. ex: air conditioner, in the summer was broken for a few months. Still not certain if completely fixed (fall came). Constant bug spraying, lots of bugs find their way in.

                                            I have enjoyed living in this community. I it is a quiet, safe neighborhood. The office staff are very friendly and helpful.
