I have lived at Arden Woods for almost two years and I highly recommend it. The new management is great. Since coming on board they have helped make Arden Woods a desirable and safe place to live. The grounds and greenspace is kept up and the maintenance staff is very professional and respectful. Maintenance has always been quick to fix any problems and always have time to answer my questions. Unique and her staff are just what this place needed and I consider them to be among the top of some of the best property managers I am aware of.

Arden Woods is my new home and I couldn't be happier. The staff has been so nice and has taken care of all my needs. I am glad there is assigned parking. I love the floor plan and the gym and the pool.

I have read some interesting and hateful reviews on here and I find it amusing based on the fact my husband and I have been here for 2 years without hardly any issues besides parking. It makes me wonder as I read about the staff being horrible, if the writer was evicted & the only way to say anything was to go on here and slander the management & staff? I have enjoyed both Unique and Laurie since I've been here simply based on how polite, respectful, and professional they BOTH are. As for living here, let people makeup their own minds. Also, about u of my neighbors have been here 3yrs and if it really was as "------" as some have said don't you think they would have left? I know I would have!

Ive lived at this apartment complex for six years. I must say there were good times as well as the bad. Keep in mind like many apartment the objective and bottom line is tenant occupancy. The Loft aka Arden Woods from my experience has never been concerned about the rodent problem that causes unsanitary conditions for their tenants. Before I moved out I discover mouse dropping in my top cabinet. A lot of these apartment units have mold within the walls because once maintenance has been made aware of this instead of cuttings out the sections affected with mold they paint over it. I've seen this done on more than two occasions. If you have a funny smell in your unit that never goes away it's probably mold. If you stay with allergies this could be the cause. As many of you may already know there is a serious insect problem mainly the large wood bugs, so if you have babies this isn't a place you would want them to live for they come out at night and if you kill them cause a nasty mess on the walls, carpets and floors. Please be careful when renting from with Arden woods. I referred a college classmate of mine a few years back and his unit was broken into and property stolen. Since this I have bought a home and wouldn't suggest that anyone rent from Arden woods. Be safe!

I moved in Arden Woods in February 2012 and I am moving OUT TODAY! I was there one month and water got into second bedroom numerous times. They used a fan to dry carpet etc. It is freezing on bottom level...cooling & heating is a nightmare. Parking is a nightmare & they tow you just to get monies. Last evening I got in from work and my bottom floor was saturated with water. The maintenance man came over and opened the air condition unit and it was bombarded with "MOLD". Now I know why I stay sick. Most of the plugs in the unit don't work, my floor upstairs was falling down, my electrical things were going out constantly and my refrig was off when I got home, therefore spoiling my food, but the lights were working. I am reporting them to the Health Dept. Monday morning. I am also filing a lawsuit.

I am out after only one year. First of all someone got shot and robbed. The police are always out there. The apartments are upgraded but they are old and keeping them heated and cooled will cost you an arm and a leg. They marked all areas we were parking in and no parking and parking is horrible.

As a new resident. I will say the same as others. I didn't expect a new place and didn't get it. But with the rent what it is it is well worth it to me. I love the quietness of the complex and management as gone above and beyond other complexes here in Raleigh to make us feel welcome. We did have a few maintenance issues that were handled right away. So far so good and would recommend the complex to friends and family.

A review from 3 year tenant
We have been here to see change from lofts to arden woods, to know the tenants who have been here 10 , 5 years, those are the people reviews should come from not these people who move here and leave the same skeptic. you got to remember people are good at judging things about how to tell it like it really is apart from the personal insecurities. i would go so far to say that any review that is below a 3.0 has something to do with their personality not being stroked and affirmed. Harsh? reality, just like the stock market we are driven by our emotions. Arden woods have undergone changes and most for good and a few bad, namely no more renting of two-story clubhouse. consensus was to keep the civility and quietness of community, yeah i didn't like that but trade off is my wife can walk here anytime of night day whatever and be safe. a great place to live close to great amenities, bus stop is literally 5min walk (chuckle.. have to live here) we used to live in those homes in brier creek those 2000 sqft ones, they had waterbugs every now and again, never a rodent though (wait only because of our cleanliness and neighbors) here at arden woods with dogs near by, people nearby have seen two mice and 4 waterbugs and a few spiders ( not bad especially since the house down street had more than that and they mortgage is twice our rent) we live in the woods and if you stay clean stay clutter free ( use recommended methods that people tell you, you are great. this is coming from someone who gets his wife to kill bugs cuz i hate them stinkers. over and out

We are happy
I have been living at Arden Woods apartments going on nearly two years now. This is my honest review of my experience after changing management companies several times. The current maintenance guys are great. Hasn t always been that way. But right now anytime I have had an issue, they show up by the time I get off work. Sometimes there s a note, sometimes not. That could improve. Overall I would deem the apartment complex as being safe but there is a high school nearby and the kids walk through the parking lot. I heard that there were a couple of car break ins and the management has sent out some newsletter stating to lock the car and not leave valuables visible. I say if you are dumb enough to need them to tell you that, then you deserve to get robbed. There is a signal 8 security patrol in the evenings that drives around. I stopped and talked to the guy patrolling and he said that he most gets calls from the tow company. Which brings me to parking, its tight, but you do get a reserved spot. My wife and I have two cars so I leave the spot for her and I park in visitor. It s cool as long as I m not home to late. I have had to park on the main street before. Not cool. Parking would be the closest reason for us to look elsewhere when the time comes. The leasing staff has changed a lot over the years but I feel the current three people are pretty professional. I haven t interacted with them much but my wife likes the manager and said that he is very friendly and easy to talk to and always knows who she is. I usually call in and speak with Michelle who is also friendly. Overall, Arden Woods is a decent place if you want an affordable and nice place to live near North Hills.

Didn't expect to pay for a new place, Didn't get one.
We have lived at Arden Woods for 5-months and really enjoy living there. The property has more of a townhouse look and feel rather than an apt building. The grounds are well maintained. This place is quiet and very well kept even though its older. Any time I have any issues in my place the maintenance guys are here within a couple of hours or the next day. The office staff is always nice and the manager seems very about your needs and well being. The neighborhood here feels safe and my kids have made a few friends. I also enjoy my neighbors. The location is great except for turning south on six forks in the AM. I highly recommend living here if you are looking for a really good value.

Renters beware!
I want to start off by saying I have never written a review at any apartment I have ever lived in but I feel like I have to warn future renters! First I want to start off by saying the last review is completely false. The biggest problem with this complex is parking. There is only one assigned parking space per apartment. I get home around 5:30 most days and and I am always hesitate to leave my apartment because I am afraid I will not have a place to park when I get back. Needless to say the parking spaces near your apartment are filled quickly (this includes guest parking). I am nervous for my wife who has to park past the clubhouse to walk such a long way to get home. What if you have groceries? 2 or 3 trips? The apartment manager has even admitted to not having enough parking. The other night my wife and I were driving to get out so we could get something to eat when 3 teenage girls were moving as slowly as possible to get out of the way while harrasing my wife when she asked them to move. I wont place the blame entirely on them because it seems like no parents here know how to control their children. Moving on, they did have a decent maintenance team. Not sure how good it is now just because we haven't needed anything done in awhile but I did hear complaints about the old team going through underwear drawers. Also, The layout is good and there's a lot of space which is the only good thing I can say but the downstairs is freezing during winter mornings which is where your bedroom will be. Apartment manager has no plans to fix this so your bill will be sky high. Walls are like paper and I am constantly awakend by loud -------- music on weekend mornings. There is absolutely no security! I believe what the previous comment was talking about is the tow truck that will flash its lights and tow your car late at night. Looks like the complex should spend more time managing instead of playing with renters dogs (note: previous comment). Please believe me when i say this, I would NOT spending this much time and be writing this review had I not been so displeased with this complex so far. Good luck future renters, you were warned! Forgot to add that they don't tell you that you need a miniature washer and dryer. Full size won't fit!!!

I love my Apaertment--Thank you!!
---I put in a request to get a few things looked at and the maintenance team went above and beyond!! --I didn t realize I had a leak at my window and team immediately clean up the little mess for me and called the roofer to fix the problem, When I got home the window was prefect and the hole are already fixed!! ---Also each of our apartments has assigned parking and I LOVE this!! I get out of work really really late and I do not want to walk to far to get home I can always depend on security to watch the parking lot for people parking legally and just to keep my safe home just that ---I wouldn t live anywhere else, Arden Woods is a nice place and has a great community! ---The management team is so kind and frindly, they will work with you on whatever you need and there really helpful!, they even take the time to chat with me and play with my dog from time to time, and jello is delicious !

DO NOT MOVE TO ARDEN WOODS!!
Arden Woods is under new management. Now owned and operated by a company named Pegasus Residential. The property manager is completley useless to say the least. In my opinion he would need help managing a bowl of Jello. There is now a severe parking problem here often times forcing tenants to walk across the community at night just to get home. What are they doing to assist in the parking situation? TOWING YOUR CAR!! They have now designated what use to be an acceptable amount of parking spots as "NO PARKING" OR "FIRE LANE". Obviously fire lanes are needed in case there were to be a structure fire in the community, however many of these fire lanes are in a place where the majority of the parking is needed. Parking may not seem to be an issue to you but i would imagine that if you grabbed a handful of current tenants, they would tell you it was getting out of control, and i bet you at least a couple of them have had their vehicles towed. Lets talk about insulation, or in Arden Woods' case, the lack there of. The insulation is severally inadequate and the HEAT/AC equipment they have is dated. Not to mention that your entire upstairs, if you have a split-level floorplan, has (2) sliding glass doors which are EXTREMELY DRAFTY. My energy bill in the late Winter last year was north of $225.00 in one month!! *NOTE* I had my HEAT/AC turned off for 7 days while i was on vacation durring that month! Overall Grade?? If i do not count the times that my neighbors have had the police called on them for throwing parties into the early hours of the morning, or the two separate occasions cars were vandalized by kids in the parking lot, or the cross-community hike of a parking situation, or the roach problem many of the tenants seem to be having, or the uselessness of the "manager".. i would give them a solid "D". I know right? A, "D" you ask? yes, i bumped them up (1) letter grade because maintenance does a decent job fixing the dated apartments when your place falls apart. Please keep in mind that i would not waste my time writing this review if i didnt want to caution future tenants from making a decision they will likely regret.

So far so good!
My roommate and I just moved in to this complex. So far we couldn't be happier! We rented a 2x2 model and love it! The living room is HUGE and opens into the dining room which makes it feel that much bigger. Everything seems to be in great condition so far. We have found a few issues we need maintenance to address, but it's nothing deal breaking, and no place will be perfect when you move in. The community manager has been extremely helpful to us and seems to care about our satisfaction. Maintenance was there the next day after we moved in to start fixing things we noticed. All of our neighbors seem to be friendly (haven't met a rude one yet, anyway!). The grounds are well maintained, it looks like the apartments were recently given a new coat of paint, and the view off our back porch/balcony is awesome! There are only three minor things that might be a problem for some people. One is that the 2x2 models have 3 sliding glass doors in them. This could cause some people to pay more for their heating and cooling bills. However, thermal curtains, insulating window film, or a blanket/fan can remedy having the air/heat run a lot. The other small problem is parking. Every apartment gets one designated space. Around our apartment there are 19 or 20 free-for-all spaces. These fill up quick. So parking is a trick, but again, no deal breaker for me. Last but not least, if you're a pet person, they do limit you on animals. No more than 2 cats and there are breed restrictions on dogs. No pets can visit, and no pets are allowed outside unless on a leash (and I believe that includes your balcony). Overall I love this apartment so far! I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a nice apartment, in a nice community, in a nice part of Raleigh.

Please Dont
This is the worst living situation that I have been in and I'm from New York so you can only imagine. The complex is old and looks nothing like the model. This complex is infested and I recommended two different parties who hate it as well. management constantly changes and the worst part is that you might be living with mice, roaches, water bugs and spiders. I wouldn't recommend this complex to a homeless person. do not move here save yourself!

Slums
The apartments are of poor quality, old, and extremely energy inefficient. Gaps around doors and windows unfortunately not only fail to seal the apartments but allow critters, small and large, into the apartments. The management is rude and dishonest. Try to go elsewhere if you can.

Great Staff
My husband and I recently bought a home. To our surprise our first house sold after 4 weeks on the market! We were in a bind and needed a short term housing option. From the moment we walked in the door, the office staff took great care of us. The apartments themselves are lovely and we enjoyed our time at Arden Woods, but we are glad to finally be in our new home! We would recommend them to anyone needing an apartment!

Horrible Experience
My wife and I moved into Ardenwoods Apartments back in late 2009. When we moved in our apartment was not ready. The carpets were wet and the kitchen was still still wet from cleaning chemicals. During our lease our electric bill ranged from 250-325 dollars for a 1000 square foot apartment. The heat went out in the middle of winter and our air conditioner stopped cooling the apartment half way through our lease. Needless to say these were only a few of the problems that we encountered with this apartment complex.

3 years and still here
I have lived here for 3 years and I would not live in another regular apartment complex in Raleigh. They have always been fair and responsive to our needs. Lived in 2 different units and have had your typical maintenance issues, but thats why you rent. If you want a regular apartment, in a good area, with good staff; then live here. I love the pool and there are not many kids here... Good for single's...

Im sad to leave
I have lived here for 3 years and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff is awesome and easy to talk to. The only reason I am moving is because of work, I highly recommend living here. The pool is a great place to meet neighbors in the summer and there is anyways something going on there. I am a 22 yr old female and I lived alone and I felt very safe.
