Rethink this move
My daughter was held at gunpoint and robbed in the parking lot right outside of her apartment. "Security" showed up 10 minutes after the police and when I went in to talk to the leasing consultant, she didn't know anything about the incident. Two weeks beforehand two young ladies were robbed by someone hiding in a dumpster and this incident was never reported to the residents. If it had been my daughter would have stayed at her friends house instead of going home that time of the night.

The office staff was overall pleasant and helpful, as was the maintainence staff. When we had any issues (emergency or not), they were addressed promptly and professionally. Moved here over a year ago while we waited for our place to sell out of state. Our experience was great. Great location and well maintained grounds.

DON'T MOVE HERE!
My fiance and I have been at these apartments for a month and we are already trying t find a way out. I was shown a completely different apartment than what we live in and the one that we are in now is a disaster. The walls are paper thin you can hear the neighbors running around next door. I was outside one day and my neighbor offered me drugs and told me where I could find him, which was next door. Theres only one parking space to every apartment. Our toilet overflows on every other flush. In every room you'll find at least one hole with exposed piping. Today I just found a dead rat in the kitchen, and all they said was sorry it must have been the people before you. Our AC had a leak, which they came to fix but when it wasn't an immediate fix they did not return. The tub will not stop up and so we are confined to showers only. We turned on our oven and eye that heats it caught on fire, and of course the emergency line does not work and so someone came the next day. Someone put carpet over a loose floorboard so every time you walk around upstairs the floor creaks. The pool man is very rude and looks very unruly. There are no overhead lights in any of the downstairs rooms, kind of a plus for them when they show you the apartments in the daytime. They tell you they have an on-site laundry but it is not part of the tour they give. I found out why once we moved in. Its on the backside, in a poorly lit unsafe area, and its a small shoddy room. None of the washers and dryers work, and I'd say they are from the late 80s early 90s. They were all filled with dirty water. UGH! The doorways are covered in cobwebs and they way they are placed anyone could be waiting at it. I am trying desperately to get out of the lease after a month, so if you know anyone that could help!! WOrd to the wise... I talk to the maintenanence man more than my mother don't move here. You can if you want to pay lots of money for a bunch of sorrys and we'll send someone right out.

i keep renewing
When I first moved to Arden Woods I only intended to live here for 6 months. I was new to Raleigh and found these apts online. I have since renewed my lease 3 times! after listening to friends complain about their apartment complexes, I sure am glad I chose Arden Woods. it s a very quiet complex, the neighbors are all very nice that I have met. All of the staff are friendly and responsive. whenever I have had a maintenance issue it has always been resolved the same or the very next day. the girls in the office, Jennifer Is one of the nicest people ever. Whether you have a problem, need some advice, or just want to shoot the bull, they are always fun to talk to. I stop in just to say hi to them quite often. All in all, this is my first apartment experience and it s been a good one. i would DEF recommend Arden Woods to anyone looking for a place to call home. I have lived at Arden Woods Apartments for over a year now and have been very satisfied. The staff is very professional and when I moved in the apartment was very clean. If I have a maintenance issue it is always taken care of the same day. The pool is always clean andI would recommend these apartments to anyone.

Are you crazy!!!!
First of all, staff lied about utilities, first of all they said that they where going thru renovations and the apartment that I was moving in was one of them. NOT!!!! They patch up things here. It's the worst. Their maintenance is incompetant. they have major problems over here. Their management changes every few months, I've been here a year come June and have been thru 3 dif managers. The electric bill is off the chain. Why? Because the doors, front and sliding needs to be replaced. You can seem under my front door which allows air, bugs and rain to come through. My electric bill runs about $350-400 a month. I have seen people move in and right back out w/in months. These apartments needs to be condemned. They are very old and it shows. I am just trying to tell the truth to the next person before they move in. I'm running with my shoes tied up and furniture on my back...NEVER will i suggest this place to anyone and be able to sleep at night. This place SUCKS!!!!!

Excellent Service - Resident Happiness is the Focus
Arden Woods does an excellent job of ensuring the satisfaction of their residents. Their desire to please is very evident in their actions and words. Specifically their property manager Rebecca is very polite and willing to go the extra step. The focus of this apartment complex is clearly on pleasing the resident in all capacities. By far my best experience.

Good management...
I'd like to add my comments to the other positive comments here; this is a well-run apartment complex. I feel that I lucked out finding Arden Woods because I came from New Orleans and didn't know anything about the area when I rented. The location is good for me. There is all kinds of shopping close by and a good selection of grocery stores. If you have a family, there are plenty of kids here and good schools in the immediate area. I think you have to credit management, especially rebecca, for a well-run complex. The grounds are always kept nice and the grounds staff has been here for quite some time and are friendly and prompt with upkeep. I've had a few small repairs and my experience is that maintenance is always fast and does a complete job. Noise is to be expected because people have to live their lives, but I find that it's pretty tolerable, even with a family with small children above me. I've considered moving to a larger place but I stop when I realize that it might be newer, bigger with more amenities, but not as well-run as this complex.

I see in other posts that a common complaint is thin walls and floors. I have to disagree in that I NEVER hear my neighbors other than MAYBE when they're leaving their apartment and the door slams. The management is very nice and helpful. I do have to agree that the power bill is outrageously high. We love having the washer/dryer in unit and our assigned parking is very close to the walkway. Many of our guests have mentioned that is a "homey" apartment. Overall we do really enjoy living here!

I H8 it!!!!!! Dont Move here!!!
Outdoor lighting SUCKS!!!!! It does not feel safe at all. There are CockRoaches and MICE problems GALORE!!!!!!! There is supposed to be 24 hour maintenance but they never show up until 4 days later. They just changed the name of the apt complex and did not make residents aware. It is a very quiet area but property needs to b renovated..when we moved here they said they were renovating and under new management and the only thing that was remodeled was the OFFICE!!! There's only one parking space per apartment and hardly any blank spaces ever available...The apartments are old so you light bills are sky high no matter what season. The vents are near the patio doors which triggers the AC system to come on entirely too much

I still live here!!!!
Hi, so i am have stayed in Brier Creek(don't ask), and Ramblewood area. I don't like mice, roaches, huge water bugs, drafty doors, cold upstairs, a single a/c unit for two floors, vents right near a patio door(what builder did that/ a ------), patio wood that is rotted(did that pass building inspection), shower pushes out too much water while taking a shower, outside storage not fully built(did we move in too early for you?), wow, i could go on(wouldn't be hard). I live here because thought to be close to Church, Work, Shopping, Access to interstate. It is actually quite quiet out here, had problem with lighting(oh yeah, i had to call the Energy company), walls are quite thin though. If, If, If...somehow they were rid of mice, huge bugs(by the way we didn't have these mice problems till people next door moved out) if somehow the complex rid the building of these problems and upgraded the apartments THOROUGHLY it would be a great apartment in a 5 mi radius. But, not there yet! Would love to move right now! We pray all be well, till then going to call apt complex, complain, get mouse traps and pray the best, Love you all, God is still wonderful!

Pretty good place
We moved into these apartments in early 2009. They are great! The parking lot is well lit and the management team is great. They're very helpful. Our air conditioner broke and they had to come fix it a few times but it was always done in a timely manner. It's very quiet and a calming place to live. I absolutely love it here!

love the area
I moved into the community a few months ago. The staff members are very nice and are willing to help out readily. My apartment is great! I love the area. There are many restaurants to walk to, and shopping is less than one mile away. I don't think that I'll be moving for a while.

A home!
Get what you pay for! I have been here for about 5 years and decided that I might want to look around for something new! So I looked round Raleigh and surrounding areas and yea decided to stay. You get what you pay for if you want a quiet safe place this is it. Everywhere I went seemed busy loud!

Sanctuary away from it all!
My family moved here last summer and we have been completely satisfied and content. The grounds are gorgeous and it is close to everything. The maintenance staff stays on top of anything that needs to be done and always has a friendly wave and smile for us. The office staff and management have been extremely professional and friendly. The people who have rated these apartments with a negative write up is very confusing to me, as I have never witnessed or experienced any of that negativity. I trust she will have a positive experience as well. The lifestyle here is perfect. We are hidden in a sanctuary-like setting as if in a nature reserve with a private lake, beautiful plush trees and peaceful wildlife. I can't express enough how much I enjoy living here and I would highly recommend it to anyone!!

be weary
i lived in the 2 bedroom here and although very large and open, i never felt safe. the lighting in the parking lot was very poor. i was 21-22 when i lived there and am a female, would NEVER stay there alone at night. the parking absolutely sucked. i often had to park on the side of the street, which is very common here, and i paid for it. my car get completely wrecked, over $3000 worth of damage. another tenant, i'm sure, although not proven, hit my car and never left a note or anything. it was considered a hit and run. great size for the price, but old and run down. kitchen is TINY

HUGE
We lived in one of the three bedroom apartments for a little over a year, and really enjoyed it. The office staff were helpful and friendly, and the maintenance was fast and responsive. The amenities were awesome. I loved the running trail and gym, and my daughter couldn't get enough of the park. The fishing in the ponds is actually pretty good. My daughter and I caught fish almost every time we tried fishing, and we made some great memories.

Is it June yet?
The apartments here are okay, they just need some renovation. Im not going to sit here and list every single problem, because I would be here all day. They are very old, maintenance takes a while, and I hope you have one car because they only assign one parking spot, then you have to hassle to get a good park. Another major problem is the utility bills, they are OUTRAGEOUS only in the winter. They don't clean up around and to me, the curb appeal is not good. There is some new managment, so maybe there will be some new change coming. I am also upset that AIMCO did'nt notify us that they were getting taken over by other people. The old managment use to send you a monthly notice on how much you would be paying for the month in writing, now these new phonies make you go online to see them, what if you don't have a computer? You can come here if you want, but come June 13 my family is out of here.

It's ok
We moved to The Loft in June. The best part of being here is we're in the middle of every where. On a nice day, you can walk to North Hills (which I have). The extremely downside is the electric bill. Fotr the past two months my bills have been anywhere from $200-$250, which is outrageous. The majority of dog owners are inconsiderate. They never clean up their dog poop. No matter how much I complained to management about the dog poop, there always seems to be some. I honestly don't see my neighbors, which I like. The laundry room is always dirty. So I've opted to do my laundry elsewhere. I have a problem with the fact that AIMCO never told us they planned to sell the place. But, it is what it is. We like it. And don't really want to move. But with the electric bills the way they are in the winter time, do we really have a choice? With that being said, please read the reviews. And ask to see the entire facility, i.e. laundry room, gym, etc.

Getting out now before it gets really cold
We're leaving this place before it really starts to get cold...so far I've noticed my power bills climbing to over 150 a month and it isn't even really cold yet! I moved in last winter and I had never seen power bills so high! Take my word for it: the people who have mentioned the high heating costs and horrible insulation AREN'T KIDDING! I dont know all the people leaving the positive reviews, but I bet it's the staff. I know several of the people here and none of them feel anything like those reviews. The staff has been unhelpful with any major issues...sure, they'll fix a broken toilet or a busted light bulb (but can't seem to fix the garbage disposal), but won't take care of the blatantly noisy tenants with their noisy cars. I would give the staff -3 stars, but I can't...they are some of the snobbiest people I've ever dealt with and a major pain...or at least they are _after_ you've signed the lease. Free advice: READ ALL THE REVIEWS. Don't be fooled...there are better places to pay hard-earned money to.

Where quality doesn't get lowered...just the rent!
As for someone who is getting married and eventually wants to get a house, The Loft is a great place to "camp". The prices were in our range and we only had to pay for the electric. They also have a great deal with the electricity. When we went in to find our apartment, we really loved the fact that the staff was so knowledgable and that they had more than just one floor plan to choose from. My fiance works late at night and so I was worried about feeling comfortable or safe in the apartment, but I was very please to find out that they have 24 hour maintenance and management. Overall, we have been very pleased and have not had one complaint yet. I think that people sometimes have to realize that this is the city and you can't always control other's actions, ecspecially in an apartment complex.
