It is quiet, kept up well and I have decent neighbors. I also like that it is close to everything for shopping and it's close to the freeway. It's relatively inexpensive and has good amenenities. Compared to other apartments it's pretty good.

So far great; onlly been here 2 weeks. Relatively quiet especially with the neighbors who share a common wall. I like there is a lot of parking surrounding my location. Trash bins are convenient. Yet to visit pool. Basketball board is crooked and expect my child to practice often.

It is very quiet and safe. Pool could be better kept. There is things floating in it all the time. Also would be beneficial to hav pool heated. No problems noted. I have enjoyed staying here. I would recommend this community to others.

Huge infestation of roaches. This needs to be solved. They come out at night. You'll see hundreds of roaches around. This property also has a huge ant problem. This is the major reason why I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great location. new property staff great. But get new carpet before renting. Old carpet does not clean up well. Open gym 24/7. Maintenance ready to help and friendly. Pool area well-done, Covered parking close to our appt. Additional parking available within property.

So far, the experience has been great. But upon move in day the washer didnt work nor was the apartment clean. I cleaned it myself and found bugs, foot prints, etc., everywhere. The office staff made my fiance and i feel like we were an inconvience to her. Starting with an attitude, sighing and rolling her eyes any time we asked questions, and on move in day when we went to pick up pur keys, she said, "really? Youre moving in right now? I was about to go on lunch." Handing us our keys was all she had to do but instead we felt like a bother. The land scaping is beautiful but there is trash everywhere and i never see it moved for days.

I've been here over a year and have always had a great experience. Staff if polite & excellent and responsive group of maintenance workers. Just resigned another 6 month lease. Ventana Canyon has always been responsive when it's needed. It appears to be well managed from office staff to maintenance. 2 thumbs up here folks

HORRIBLE! Since Mary left it started falling apart here. Mary was the manager, and she cared about the residents. Mary kept this place clean and was always on top of things. The staff was completely replaced. Now the only people here don't care about anything but themselves. I'm confined to a wheelchair and need help with some things that are heavy or big. I needed to get a satellite dish off my porch because the company didn't want it. I asked the office to help me and they refused. Their reason? As they said, "it's not our property." It was MY property and I gave them permission, but they refused just the same. I am getting bit daily by some kind of nasty little ants that are right by my door. The bites swell, burn, itch, last for days and make me feel sick. See photo. Instead of sending someone out, they "put me on the list" for next time they come. It took 5 days to get someone here, then 4 days later the ants were back. This place used to have some class, now it belongs to the slums. The security gate was broken for over 3 months. Nothing like paying for security only to let anyone in day and night. The clubhouse has recently been redecorated, and now it reflects the personality of this place perfectly: Sparse, Sterile, Tacky and Unwelcoming. Besides that, they have this powerful "air freshener" in there that is so strong it literally makes me nauseous. As for the apartment itself, it is your typical apartment. Nothing stands out as great, nothing as horrible. Cheap carpets, thin walls, all your typical apartment features. The grounds used to be clean and kept. They still mow and trim shrubs, but no longer clean up the messes. I think the ants came from candy/junk food wrappers the person who lives above me thew out into the bush by my front door. That same bush has something that smells liked it died. It could be trash in the bush, but it smells like a dead rat has been in there for a while. I have asked the staff for 2 years for the person above me not to throw the dirty mop water (I hope it's mop water) onto my porch. The office wouldn't do anything about it. For over a month it looked like someone emptied their bladder on my porch from that nasty mop water. See photo. Most residents that were here for years moved as soon as the new staff came on board. I would not recommend you move here unless you like being disrespected and ignored.

I moved in with my family from out of town in 2016 and although most reviews were adverse I have found this apartment complex to be fantastic. Overall the experience has been worth a referral of the complex for me.

If you need a place to sleep they'll do. A little old school, no lights so I hope you have lots of lamps. The pool/spa is constantly under maintenance and locked up which also means you can't use the 24hr gym outside business hours. . . If it's broken, it'll probably stay that way. I had maintenance come out because the dishwasher wasn't working, he snaked the kitchen sink and declared it fixed, it wasn't. The screens are constantly blowing off of the windows. Neighbors are pretty loud at least in the area of the complex I was in, constantly drunk and smoking which then stinks up the place. But again, if you need a place to sleep, it'll do.

My mom just moved in Ventana Canyon from Michigan. So far no problems. Rita the Leasing Agent is fantastic. She has been very accommodating to me and my mother. The transition has been very smooth for my elderly mom, this I am thankful. The rent price is within range of other apartment complexes in the area. Like the fact all the places my mom needs to get to are within a 5-10 minute drive. The apartment is very spacious and was very clean at the time of move in. I would like to commend both Marie and Rita for their professionalism.

The location of Ventana Canyons seemed perfect for our needs but after reading reviews we were reluctant to even consider the place. Once my husband and I noticed how whiny most of the reviews were at most EVERY complex we decided to at least stop by and check them out, WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID. Having been living here several months now, we couldn't be happier. The entire staff from the office to maintenance has been great to work with and really help us feel welcome. We were really worried about living in an apartment after losing our house. We really didn't think that we could get the "Home" feeling and enjoy the safety and security we felt in our old house but Ventana has given us all that. Amenities, atmosphere, friendly and caring staff with a great location, what more could we ask for. We are so happy we decided to take a chance and come see the property for ourselves; we love it here and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice apartment community in Henderson!

I moved here from Tacoma, WA and this is the worse apartments I have ever lived in. I don't know if many people have standards, but I do. When I arrived to my apartment my first mistake was signing the lease prior to my walk through because had I done my walk through in broad day-light I would have never rented this apartment. I just spent 3 days on the road driving to this hell hole and I barely made it before the office closed to sign the lease so by the time I arrived I just wanted to get the movers to move my items into my apartment. The nightmare began that night when I walked around taking endless photos of all the unclean areas in the apartment which consisted of dust in corners of bathrooms, bedrooms, carpet not vacuumed and smelling of dog/cat urine, drawers in master bath and kitchen dirty, ceiling fan dusty, carpet not even touching the wall in the master bedroom, chalking in both bathrooms old and cracked, appliances are not modern(they have the nerve to describe their apartments as luxury apartments). Damage to counter tops in kitchen and master bath, a gated community with a gate that never shuts "How is that Secure!". Guest bath tub that does not drain when taking a shower, but the most DISGUSTING thing of all is ROACHES!!!! this was my first night experience here. 3 roaches, I moved in on Nov 15 and so far I have killed a total of 5 roaches. One I actually found in my BED! Also, crawling outside on the building wall as I entered my apartment. I'm very clean and don't even wear my shoes in my house so for me this is unacceptable and not tolerable for me. Prior to renting the apartment I asked countless questions about the carpet, the upkeep of the apartment and explained that I have really bad allergies and can not live anywhere that is full of dust or animal hair, let alone urine. I expressed this more than once and I also expressed if the carpet was not new or smelled if it could be replaced. Cheryl from Remington which is the sister complex of Ventana Canyon explained to me that Mary would make sure that the apartment was up to her standards and I had nothing to worry about. Well I guess Mary, the apartment manager "who doesn't even live on the complex" standards are to live with roaches and filth. I truly do not believe anyone in the leasing office ever walked through this apartment before renting it. The apartment looked like the old tenants moved out and they moved me in. The are rights for tenants and laws that protect us "the tenant" against slum landlords. Look up your tenant rights under NRS 118A.050 code health, safety, sanitation "I don't find it very sanitary to live with roaches that carry diseases." NRS 118A.290 code Habitability of dwelling unit "states that landlord must maintain the dwelling unit in a habitable condition and a unit is not habitable if it violates health codes. "well living with roaches violates my health code" When I brought the roaches into the office inside of a bottle, everyone said to me, welcome to the desert. Hello, I have lived in Arizona and never had roaches and I am from New Orleans so I know how roaches come about and it is not just from living in the desert it is from filth and once a building is infested with them spraying does nothing. So the managers attempt to tell me they spray every Thursday does not do any justice when I have residents in my building unit leaving their trash out on their front door steps. The health department really needs to come and investigate MAXX Properties because this is beyond the office people, they don't care, their all just full of excuses because their job is to make money for the company they work for not to care about living conditions because none of those women live here. I moved here in good faith unseen based on what I was told the apartment was based on their advertisement and as everyone in the office stated. I spent over 2200.00 for this move on gas, movers, my time, the U-haul, the application fee, the $200.00 security deposit, the rent, etc and I have spent 4 hours of my time re-cleaning this apartment because I told the managers they needed to fire their cleaning company and I would do it myself because obviously if they didn't clean it right the first time I did not trust them in the apartment to do it. I've been inconvenience with my time since I've arrived here with having to call management repeatedly about the issues, waiting for carpet people to come out and look at the carpet to see if it needed to be replaced. Even their own carpet cleaners that came to access the carpets said the apartment smelt of a strong urine smell, also having to have maintenance come in to fix things that should have been done before my arrival. The last tenants moved out in October 2013 and I didn't move in until Nov 15, 2013, so there was plenty of time to get this apartment properly livable. As it is now it is not. Especially when I cant even sit in the living room without lighting scented candles so that I can tolerate the smell. It is very sad that managers will LIE just to get vacant apartments filled. When you ask them questions they act like their complex is golden, but make no mistake NEVER RENT AN APARTMENT UNSEEN AND DON'T EVER RENT FROM VENTANA CANYON, unless your standards are very low.KNOW YOUR RIGHTS because slum lords are banking on the assumption that you won't know your rights, don't let them intimidate you into thinking you have to accept their non-sense and lying ways. The manager will probably read this and respond that she offered to have their maid serve re-clean apartment, that maintenance came in and re-chalk the tubs, snaked the tub drain, changed the cover on the dusty vent, and replaced the shower curtain bar; which is all fine, but the one thing she will not be able to fix are the ROACHES, no matter how much they spray. Management had the nerve to try ask me if I wanted to move to a upstairs apartment; that was management's resolution for the roaches, as if roaches don't crawl walls. Plus who would move all my items? Had management been honest about the roaches in the first place I WOULD NEVER HAVE MOVED IN THIS HELL HOLE and I believe management knows this, that is why they lie and with hold this information and get you to sign a lease under false pretenses.

Having lived here for two years, we thought it would be a good place to live. Boy, were we wrong. First, the walls are paper thin, and we can hear everything ( and I mean everything) that our neighbors do. This can really be annoying when someone is walking around at 2 am. The construction of the property was shoddy to begin with, and has gotten worse since. There is a huge gap in the front door, so we have all kinds of problems with crickets and roaches and such. The roaches come up the drains, and I half expect one in my shower every morning! The lighting in the complex is abysmal, with lights always out and never replaced, and the gates are always broken. The management is a nightmare to deal with, as they never answer their phones and when they do, all but one are short and mean. One person in the office was always helpful, but as she isn't the manager, oftentimes her hands were tied. Apartments in the complex were flooded when it rained, and the windows are only single pane, so in the summer it's sweltering and in the winter, it's tolerable. I will never be back to this property, and consider it a waste of two years, and a ton of money down the drain.

Happy Living Here
I have been living here a while now and am happy with it. Looking at the prior review, I can't say I have experienced anything negative. I have had a few minor maintainance issues but they have been fixed promptly and properly. I also have had one problem with a noisy neighbor, and called and complained and the noise stopped right away. So far they have handled problems well, it's safe, usually very quiet complex. It's a great if you have pets, very pet friendly, I have cats but lots of grassy areas for dogs, they do charge pet rent though, the one thing I'm not happy about. Nice gym and pool area, the office/computer room has come in handy more than a few times already. As far as the gate breaking down, that's true, but I have witnessed it myself, some people pound the keys repeatedly at the gate code box as if it will make the gate open faster and then next thing you know, the gate is stuck and everyone acts surprised. There are even instructions next to the unit, of how to properly enter your code and give it a minute to process. But obviously not everyone is paying attention to that. So that really isn't the apts fault its the other tenants and their guests fault. So overall would recommend it here, I am happy here, will probably renew my lease unless they try to increase the rent or don't offer any kind of deal. Great neighborhood, clean, quiet, close to shopping, food, the mall, anything you need is within 5-10 minutes from here.

Not Worth The Hassle
We lived there for two years however it was two years of hassle! When there was a maintenance problem it took forever to get a hold of the leasing office. They never answered when you called and if you left a message it took them a day or so to return the call. When you finally got to tell them the maintenance problem it took two to three days for maintenance to come fix it. They changed managers/staff three times in the two years we were there. Just when you got comfortable with the staff they brought in a new one. We wanted to move out when our lease was up however they were hurting for tenants so they dropped our rent $200.00. In this economy we could use the extra $200.00 so we signed another year lease. We ended up getting a house and had to break the lease, so we were told an amount and told we could sign a monthly payment plan, which we did. Two months later they sent us a letter stating we had to pay the amount in full within 30 days of the letter or it would go into collections to affect our credit! The letter was dated twenty four days prior to us receiving it, which means we had four days to come up with the money! Obviously if we had the money we would have paid it in full. You're not allowed to reverse in your stall, which to me is dangerous to reverse out because everyone speeds in the complex. The front gate was always broken, what's the purpose of having a gated community if the gate is always broke?! I don't know what kind of place they are running there, but it is not worth the hassle. Let's just say you get what you pay for.

This Is A True Story
My wife and I had been living at Ventana Canyon for about a month. One evening, at around 10pm, we heard loud music resonating through a wall we shared with our next door neighbor. We both went over and knocked on the neighbors door and ask politely if they could turn it down. The music was turned down. Two days later, my wife and I were awakened to a man screaming at the top of his lungs "I'm going to F----ing kill you!" over and over again. We initially thought that one of our neighbors was having a domestic dispute until one of our bedroom windows shattered. At that point we realized that the same neighbor we had asked, two days ago, to turn down his music was either drunk or high and wanted to kill us. I immediately called 911 to get police here as soon as possible. He then started beating on our door while still yelling "I'm going to f----ing kill you!!!" I then called 911 a second time. The police finally showed up and my neighbor was so out of control that he threatened the police and they ended up tasering him and hauling him off to jail. Our window had been shattered, there was blood all over our door and we did not feel safe at Ventana Canyon. We moved out the same day.
