I love it here!
Some people will not be happy any where. The Chesterfield is not perfect but living here is easy, safe, and pretty fun. I have had three small maintence requests since I moved in and all have been taken care of by the time I came home from work. I have three friends who have moved in and no one has had any major problems!

It's a good apartment overall
i lived there for almost 2 years. i would have stayed if it weren't for my new job. the apartment is good. staff are friendly. garage is a little tight, but i can live with it. heating is included in the rent, that in the cold weather like cleveland, believe me is a bargain! it's much better comparing to my new apartment. i'd like very much to move back when my lease is up. i don't care about the distance i'm gonna have to travel to work. i just want to live in a nice place that makes fairly happy.

glad I'm out
Way back when I first moved into the Chesterfield, it was a wonderful place to live. Sadly, I watched it go downhill for so many years that I finally decided it was time to go. When I turned my keys in on the last day, not a soul in the leasing office even knew who I was or even seemed to care at all that a long-time resident was leaving. I had a nightmare of a neighbor and tried to get help from the leasing office, but what little effort they did make was useless. I finally decided if I was going to live downtown and be happy, I had to move out of that building. What a smart move...

ok if no other choice
living in downtown cleveland is real pain considering the lack of decent accomadation and demand for housing.
apt is overall ok but lacks in customer service. the staff are rude, their attitude towards indian residents are particularly racist. specially julia rankin and shirley.they always talk to ------- in terms of legal notice, evictions etc.

Can't wait to move out of here
Don't consider living here unless you go to CSU and cannot afford the Statler Arms or Reserve Square.
It's the worst building I have ever lived in. Management is not responsive at all, they don't know the meaning of customer service once you sign the lease. People at the frontdesk are useless. The entrance to the building always smells like food, and the garage area stinks most of the time. It's also noisy not only because of contiguous apartments, but there also homeless and god knows who else screaming on the streets until late at night.
Can't wait to move out of here.

I Dont know who these PICKY people are that are so ticked off about everything here. Here are my complaints. THe halls are warm and yeah Julia can come off a little mean at first. BUT to be honest with you, this place is fine and i LOVE living here. The people giving this place bad reviews must be pretty demanding!

No WAY!
I recently got married and I was looking for an apt in downtown, 2 bedrooms for young professionnals. I like Statler arms and Scott was amazing! However, the idea of 150$ parking/month/car was too much. I went to Chesterfield, next door. The Lobby is small and it´s noisy. Moreover, The person who was showing us the building was kind of rude. Her name was Julia. We are essentially foreigners and do not understand What Utilities include and We needed specific details. She was not patient and asked us several times to focus on What she is saying because obviuosly we are dumb...Her attitude did not change when she knew that were doctors and she said that" you understand just in the medical field". I wanted a view of the lake and she showed me a view of the city (very ugly). When i told her that I do not considered as a view , she was rude and said that SHE THINKS IT IS A VIEW. She is also VERY loud. I will NEVER EVER consider renting there.

just just OK
living in chesterfiled is good if you are studying at clevelnd state or if you are working in downtown. its always ocasionally noisy. people just bang their doors shut. i guarantee you that you will definetly think that there is a blast when some one shuts their shut in taht way and wakes u up anytime 24/7.
management staff are so sweet to talk and opposite to sweet when it comes to getting your things done like complaints, work orders etc.

elevators are good....fast..hardly seen problems since i lived here since jan 2003.

neighbors are OK. most of the poeple who live here are students whihc is a pain in the --- for families with children. they are always noisy in the lobbies, hallways and sometimes some people are damn uncouth. front desk jsut sucks bigtime. expect nothing but a grin on their shabby face. not at all courteous.

gym is good. except for the fact taht most of the time it is filled with outside people who dont even live there.

GARAGE SUCKS BIG TIME and its FREAKING EXPENSIVE. 75$/month. very poor service. only 1 floor which has individual spots all other floors you have to park your car in the aisles and leave your key if you are blocking a car in the aisle. garage stinks like hell every now and then. the basement gets flooded in the garage...have your swim suit handy when it rains and if you park your car in the basement. the laundry is a haven for thieves. beware of leaving your poor in the laundry clothes alone or u will get a surprise.

oever all just OK... recommended if you are a student.... hope this helps out.

this place is a nightmare
This place advertises itself as luxury apartment, but I do not know where the luxury is here. The management refuses to turn on heat or a/c at the turn of season. Therefore, it is always cold around October and extremely hot in May. The staff is extremely rude and unknowledgable. I often get different answers to a same question from various staff members. The wall is paper thin. You can hear all kinds of noise in the hall and from apartments above you. and if you live by the elevator, you can hear it running all night!! In the summer, the front lobby and parking garage smell like trash. It´s absolutely disgusting. The building prides itself as the only one with a roof top pool in downtown cleveland. I´m scared to dip my feet into the pool as it is poorly maintained. The security staff lets anyone into the building, so theft and break-ins happen quite often.
Needless to say I can´t wait to move out of this place.

It is time to move on
Convenient - yes. Nice front desk - yes. Great work out facility. Response time is not good from the office staff. Parking is expensive. Lobby and garage either smell of trash or fried food depending on the day.

Overall Satisfaction at the Chesterfield
The location next to the currently under construction Statler Arms building has brought 2 years of jackhammers and smashing concrete. An entire year with the Parking garage in a state of disaster with minimal damage to my own car that was fixed and paid for by the construction company. Living through all the elevator renovations and having to deal with one elevator working for months in a 20 story building was rough. I am moving out now and was wishing that I was only moving in? I was here for all of the growing pains and now that they are all done and everything is nice it´s too bad that I am leaving. Positives besides the pool, workout room, and club room that has a pool table and a big screen tv is the laundry room. It contains a card system that allows you to use your debit card to pay and elliminates the need to hoard quarters until your laundry day.
