About a year ago, I started my search for my first apartment. The very first place I checked out was The Chesterfield in Downtown Cleveland. I looked at reviews and I saw that people were not leaving nice comments whatsoever, but the comments were from a year or so ago, and I assumed that things had changed or the people that wrote these reviews had poor hygiene. When I first moved in last August, I didn't see anything for about the first month, then I started seeing roaches in the hallway (yes, the little ones AND the big ones.) I thought that if I kept my stuff clean that I would be okay, and boy was I wrong. Recently, my boyfriend started feeling really itchy all over his body and he had little welts as well. We assumed that he was having an allergic reaction because he was the only one that had these "welts" on him. Then I started getting them. I got freaked out and started looking up bug bites, and then I discovered that they were bed bug bites. (We easily had over a hundred bites on us). Once we realized what it was, we got a mattress cover and sprayed the furniture, and the bugs started coming out. We were so grossed out, so we decided to take a walk up to the roof top pool, one of there "amenities", so we could relax and figure out what to do. When we walked out into the hallway, the carpet literally looked like it was moving because there were SO many bugs. That's right, we're talking roaches of all sizes, spider, bed bugs, ants, and a few other bugs that I have yet to identify. So we go up to the pool, and that was just as gross. There were beer cans floating in the pool, along with cigarette butts, bugs, and a little slime too (My skin is crawling at the thought of it.) The following morning, I went to my landlord and told her about the bugs. She looked me dead in the eye and said she needed a sample of the bugs, (although I had shown her pictures). I handed her my keys and told her that if she needed one that badly, that she should let herself into my apartment and get one herself. She changed her tune real fast after that. The following day, my apartment was fumigated. I walked into my apartment later that day, and I kid you not there were at least 20 GIANT cockroaches hanging from my ceiling. I started crying and went into her office and gave her an ultimatum: that she could let me out of my lease early and remove my furniture free of charge, (there was no way in hell I was touching that stuff now), and give me my security deposit back in full, or she would be hearing from my lawyer Monday morning. She let me out of my lease immediately and is giving me my deposit back. If you are seriously considering this apartment because of how cheap it will be, then you need to reconsider. I lost all of my furniture, and some of that stuff was timeless. Is it really worth losing the majority of your belongings just to save a few dollars? Save yourself the headache and don't EVER consider this place. These are just the problems with the bugs. There is also the lovely permanent odor on every floor that never seems to go away, the creepy doorman who at one point followed me and a few other female tenants on Twitter and said a few provocative things, (I reported him, and the apartment took no action whatsoever), the fire alarms that go off at least once a week, and the list goes on and on. Trust me, I thought I would be okay and my stuff would be okay, but I was so so so so so wrong. My skin still crawls at the thought of that place. If I could give this place a zero a would. WORST APARTMENT IN THE CLEVELAND AREA WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Reading these old reviews actually brought back real life skin crawling feelings of how paranoid and traumatized I was for MONTHS after moving out of here. I used to sleep with a nightlight on because of CONSTANT nightly fear of bedbegs. Even after I moved to a luxury apartment highrise in South Beach that's clean as a whistle, I still had nightmares about my skin being feasted on by blood sucking insects. I don't even know why I'm taking the time to write this right now, as it brings back such vivid and horrific memories. It's 2:31am as I write this, and I'm POSITIVE I will get nightmares because of it. But hopefully I can spare just ONE person from getting sucked into this hellish nightmare trap. My friend Kelsey and I were 18 and 19. We grew up in Columbus and thought it would be exciting and fun to move to Cleveland on our own, and get an apartment downtown and live like "big girls" in a "big city" all by ourselves. What we ended up with, was a literal version of hell. Being two white girls from suburbia, you can only imagine what I'm going to say next. I'm not racist by any means, but there are no white people here. It's 100% ------. Not that thats a bad thing either, but the place literally wreaks of -----. ----- bleeds through the walls. Trash PILES up in the garage. The walk from the garage is so powerful sometimes your eyes will actually well up. Your guests will look at you like "where the hell are you taking me?".. Your family will be worried for your safety before you even invite them in. Security is a joke. I remember watching a security guard roll a joint while sitting behind the desk. The technology at the front desk is laughable, as it's extremely dated How can you feel safe? You can push open the "key locked" doors. They have a am/fm radio transmitor. Weird glowing red buttons. Nothing advanced. Looks like a time machine back to the 60s. But that's not what gets your skin crawling. First came the roaches. The very very very first night I ever stayed I saw one crawl. My mind was never the same. I slept with lights on. Had dreams about them. No matter how much I cleaned, they came. In my cupboards. In my bathroom. I never was able to sleep. But at least the roaches didn't like my bed. I went to Miami and came back after 8 months of living there. I never had any problems. My old roomie found a piece of furniture and didn't examine it properly. I fell asleep in it when I came back to visit and HOL-Y-----. I was covered. Literally. COVERED IN BITES. All over my back. Like at least 65 bites. They ate my back like a chinese buffet. (Yeah, theres an actual Chinese Buffet downstairs. It's just as disgusting as this building, so it's in a suiting location). The "free internet" in the basement is a joke. Everything is covered in bugs and I think I saw some skinny guy whacking off down there in the private back room once. I'd be afraid to ever go into that pool because of skin conditions, and nobody wears proper swimwear. Guys swim in their underwear??? Seriously. Management is a JOKE. I remember when I told them about the bugs they literally said they were bankrupt and couldn't afford cleaning products. Like literally, no shame whatsoever, flat out admitted that they CANT and WONT do anything about it lol. Hey at least they didn't lie I guess?...? Nights of amusement were created with my girlfriend and I by watching ------ thugs in the parking lot who lived in the section 8 housing behind our windows selling drugs and pimping out teenage women. Oh, and then there was the double murders execution style that occurred in the parking lot across the street when I lived there. That was lovely for my personal psyche as a young, female white woman. The garage is WAY OVERPRICED.. considering it's $100 to park there and I live in South Beach now and it's only $150 in my building. It should be like... $40 lol. Theres no lights and the "office" is equipped with a old-time loud ticket-hole puncher from 1945 and a TV-VCR combo that plays static white noise 24-7. Literally if you walk into that parking lot, it feels like the scene in a scary movie before someone gets violently murdered and chopped up into a million pieces. Can't forget LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION... lots of subsidized housing and abandoned buildings around. Oh and the gym actually has film on the machines. I remember that too. The entire building just has a level of ultimate CREEPINESS to it. Like it's been untouched and unloved since maybe 1986. The bathrooms in the gym have no soap or toilet paper or anything, just an old fake potted plant. It's very errie. I'm telling you. Trust me. I remember everything from that scary --- building. It's like a nightmare you can't wake up from. It's been 5 years and it all comes back to me. The smell. The bugs. The feelings of sleeplessness EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. Although, I do owe The Chesterfeld for somehow meeting a dental student who by chance introduced me to a young dentist who was from Cleveland but living in South Beach. He was there on Christmas Break. I ended up moving to South Beach because of that building... in a karmic chain of events. So.... I guess the moral of the story is... living in this building will raise your karmic cloud to the point something awesome MUST have to happen to you! It's like a year long prison sentence! NOTHING WORSE CAN EVER COME OUT OF YOUR LIFE AFTER YOU LIVE HERE. You could literally be in jail and think it was Club Med compared to this wildly creepy, bug infested, abandoned, smelly, erry as hell, piss poor excuse for a livable apartment building. And if you DO decide to get tricked into these units for the cheap prices, remember.. you will be paying the price. In many many many many many many other ways than you think. Oh check out the laundry rooms. They have hand painted wall murals of giant socks and t-shirts straight out of like... Saved By The Bell. Can't even describe. So incredibly outdated. I had to throw away all of my furniture because they were crawling with real live bed bugs. DO you know what a bedbug looks like? Google it.

I'll post a link to a video that I'll record about the roaches that is all over the place to prove why I'm reviewing them along with more detail review about the whole building and all the employees.

I make my home in The Chesterfield. It's not an apartment to me but my home. I have good neighbors and bad neighbors. The good ones are great. They throw their garbage where it belongs. If they drop something in the common areas they pick it up. They keep their homes clean and are respectful of their neighbors. The bad neighbors do need to leave. Do we have problems? Of, course we do. Roaches come with the territory when you have tenants that don't clean after themselves. But the building exterminators come twice a week so if you have a problem let management know. And if you do let the exterminators in to exterminate. Bedbugs? Have you bothered to read the news? Their a national issue. And again tell management and the extermenator will be their. Of course, if the tenants wouldn't bring them in we wouldn't have them. The staff are great. Holly responds to any issue. And by the way she was not the manager when the pool leaked. Mark our maintenance supervisor is fantastic. Shawn who has been working for the building for about three years is friendly and helpful. We have new carpeting through out the buildig (put in before the pool problem) and new wall paper due to be installed. The common areas would be cleaner if the tenents would clean up after themselves. Management is making vast improvements. Do we have issues? Of course, but instead of complaining help us maintain the building. And yes it is your responsibilty. Oh, by the way my name is Sundra Chalid. Don't need to hide who I am.

I've lived here 2 years, but this lady "holly" that is running the building is a total idiot and the worst!!!!!!! She is the reason this building sucks and I will move out. The building is covered with roaches and bed bugs!!! Its horrific. Not to mention the pool breaking, the lack of communication within the building and the lack of maintenance. The whole building is falling apart. Part of the parking garage collapsed. The only reason why anyone lives here is the location. Not to mention the rents are kind of affordable and larger apartments, but its too much now. Time to move. February please come fast!!!! My neighbor has lived her 18 years and she is finally moving out next month because of the management here. Dont move here. just dont. You will be sorry. Also the security guard at the front door is a 16 year old kid who comes around and bothers people.

This place is the absolute worst nightmare you can ever imagine. The swimming pool on the roof leaked a couple of weeks ago and knocked out power to the lobby elevators, only the service elevator worked and that was always so crowded, you were better off using the stairs. I should be thankful my apartment was not damaged by the water; yet, many apartments were flooded and forced tenants to move. As a result of the flood, I have noticed an increase in roaches throughout the building. I am more concerned about possible mold growing in the walls from the water trapped in there. As a final note, wallpaper was removed from the hallways, it appeared as though something black had already taken hold, the walls were spotted with something.

Student Dorm with Roaches
Like another reviewer before me stated: the location and size of the apartments are prime. Unfortunately the building is so old and so poorly maintained that it's not worth staying. We lost electricity and water at the same time one morning during prime hours (6:30am until 11am). I was in the middle of my workout in the penthouse gym (which is not well equipped at all!). If the folks in the penthouse hadn't come out of their apartment with a flashlight, I would have had to feel my way down the stairs because there wasn't even emergency lighting! Aside from this incident, the building is constantly needing to turn off the water supply during the day so they can fix something. They also do regular apartment inspections (remember those in your college dormitory?) to make sure you are keeping your apartment in good condition. There are alot of students that stay in this building because it's affordable and as a result there is alot of trash and petty vandalism in the elevators which can be embarassing when you have visitors. The front desk staff is only available at nights and they generally don't care to speak to you. Lastly, yes, there is a horrible bug infestation. There are always roaches no matter how much you clean or even how often you clean. It's a shame because I really did love this apartment despite some of it's challenges, but I draw the line at bugs!

Dont do it, you will regret it
I am really not a hard person to please, but this building is so poorly maintained, it cant even be explained in words. My apartment size and location was awesome, until we realized the building was infested with roaches. We clean scrub, exterminate, but the roaches will not stop coming. The Chesterfield extermination person came to exterminate our floor and I guess he came from an apartment that was more infested than ours and a roach was litterally crawling out of his jacket pocket!!!! I am not at all a dirty person, and I have lived in many places and have never had bugs. I am so busy Im not even home long enough to make a mess, the roaches enjoy the apartment more than I do!!! I you love roaches .. the chesterfield is the place for you !

Still dealing with them months after i left= huge hastle
I lived at the chesterfield for a year from 11-01-10 to 12-15-11 and can personally say that is was my worst living experience ever. I had cockroaches and other bugs, the management company did not do anything about the bugs for about 7 months. I even emailed and wrote their management company and they did nothing to help. At one point in the lease I received an eviction notice, I went to the office to investigate and they said; have your stuff out by tomorrow morning, the sheriff bailiff is coming, you didn t pay rent. I immediately went to my bank got the receipts from the cashier s checks showing that the chesterfield had cashed every single one. They still decided to charge me other late fees and said if I did not pay, once again the sheriffs bailiff would be there. After I was finally able to leave the chesterfield I received a phone call on march 12th 2012, it was a collection agency threatening my credit with a $1039 collection from not paying the electric bill and last month s rent. Flashing back to my last day at the chesterfield, on my move out day I went to the office turned in my keys and had the check book ready to pay any fees due. The lady pulled out my file and said we have taken care of everything, you are all set to go . I asked we do not owe anything? The lady- no sir, sorry for the inconveniences , we are getting another new management and hope you will conceder us for the future I was happy, I asked if they needed any addresses for my mail, once again they did not want anything from me and said they had it covered. Now back to present time, the chesterfield has not returned my calls in attempt to pay the bills ( just to get them out of my life) and I am facing a collection for not paying. This will affect future renting and any purchases I will do. Not to mention my employment. These are my complaints but please take them for what they are! The rooms are huge, the rent is cheap, but the quality is horrible. The halls are always dirty, the 19th floor has mold and Is condemned, there are some 2 bed rooms with 8 or more people living there, the pool is closed half the summer and is green the other half. THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE IF YOU TAKE LIFE SERIOUS!!!!!!! I read many complaints like mine before I moved in, I didn t trust them and here s where we are. The other apartments down town do cost a little bit more but are well worth it!There were 2 loarge fights and one stabbing while i was there. the fire alarm was pulled by unwatched kids about 3 times per month.

If i ask them they same some stupid reasons and told me in october 2011 the apartment was carpet was not good when we moved out. It sucks, The management was worst and lady named holy huges was even worst. they always try to steel money from people. and MPA was not diffferent they were also the same. I am not moving to this apartment and i dont suggest that to any one. Not only this any of these sucking MPA apartments. They were lot of good places to stay than these apartments for the same price.

Not Nice
My daughter lived there for one year until July 2011. It was okay until she got a call from a collection agency telling her that the Chesterfield said she owed $300 for not giving them enough notice. She wrote them a letter the end of May and moved out the end of July. Her apt. was clean except for some nails she hung pictures on. The Chesterfield NEVER notified her of this bill, just sent it to collection. She gave them plenty of notice and they are so unprofessional there that I want to throw up. It is UNPROFESSIONAL and they are not very nice when dealing with their clients. They are to get you in but then if you need something done, they make you wait for months. Good luck to anyone who lives there.

Full of Bedbuggs and Roaches, Ringworm from the gym!!!!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!! THE PLACE IS CRAWLING WITH BLOOD SUCKING BEDBUGGS WHICH AFE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL!! This place is a slum and was featured on 19 action news twice for black mold and other problems (check the 19 action news website). Their follow up story showed 70 some building code violations. No matter how clean you are bedbugs can get to you. I am extremely neat and clean, it does not make a difference. Please look them up online before you come to look here. The low cost of rent is not worth the expense and time of washing everything you own. Your entire closet will have to be rewashed or dry-cleaned (It will cost me a few hundred dollars all together just to wash all my clothes). The building will pay for none of this, not even the mattress covers... I am warning everyone!! This is TORTURE. These bugs feast on you while you sleep. I haven't slept in days. The building has taken a week to schedule someone to come out and exterminate, and I was told it is a three week process to kill all of them as their eggs hatch in 7 day cycles. Save yourselves, don't even walk in this place or you may track them home with you. There are other things that are problems as well. The second floor patio was not open all summer because they can't afford to fix the rotting boards and it is unsafe. The pool turns green and has to be drained every year in the middle of summer because of lack of money to buy chemicals. The basement flooded and has been in disrepair for months on end. My apartment flodded. My shower gets burning hot then freezing cold, back and forth. The washers and dryers are always breaking. Some of the dryers don't get heat and don't be surprised if the washers stop mid cycle without draining and leave everything sopping wet. Maintenance cannot fix anything properly because corporate will not give money for parts and supplies. I got ringworm from the filthy gym. I have lived here for years and the bedbugs are the last straw. Try going to work with no sleep and massive welts all over your body. Oh yeah, don't forget the roaches... They seem like welcome guests compared to the bedbugs. Watch "Joes Apartment" you will feel like you are living in the movie if you move into this dump. Roaches hang in the halls and company gets to see them as they pass by. The trash compactor was broken for months and trash was backed up to the 19th floor. Gnats were swarming the hallways in droves like I have never seen before. Cars get broken into in the garage regularly. The 24 hour security was cut and there is none from 12 at night till 8am. I swear all of this is true and unexaggerated. Please save yourself the nightmare of living here. They will not tell you about any of these issues because they are dying for rent money and are afraid of losing their jobs.

WORST PLACE EVER!!!
tell everyone you know, DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! the actual apartment is alright, to look at, but that's where it stops. water temperature sucks, i have never had a comfortable shower in the year that i lived here. it gets scalding hot and freezing cold, back and forth, and never settles at a safe temperature. the building always smells like garbage, there were cockroaches in my kitchen, and my apartment flooded more than once. but that's not even the worst part. the laundry facilities are TERRIBLE!!! they are dirty, half the machines don't work, and the change machine has NEVER worked in the past year. every time i have done laundry i have lost at least $3.00 in quarters because the machines will take the money and not turn on, or i would have to run the dryers 3 times. the WORST part is the management. the property manager's name is catherine johnson and she is as dumb as a bag of rocks. she assures you that she will take care of any problem you have, but then go and talk ---- about you to other building employees, and before you know it she is dodging your phone calls and ignoring emails. she is TERRIBLE. same with the -------s who work at the front desk. DUMB and RUDE and INCOMPETENT and HOSTILE. plus, the building is UNSAFE. anybody has access to it at all hours, the back doors do not lock, ever. the "security" personel are switched out so often that they let people onto the elevators that don't live there, and apartments have been burglarized because of this. this place is cheap, but you get what you pay for

NO NEED TO DEFEND THE CHESTERFIELDS HONOR
Why is it people feel the need to come on here and try and defend against the negative reviews. All we are trying to do is give people our honest experiences and opinions. Yes some people exagerate. Yes some people may even lie. The truth is The reviews in regards to The Chesterfield are not lying. They are not exagerated. The management sucks and bed bugs are a real problem that they cant afford to take care of the way it needs to be. Hot water/water at all IS A REAL ISSUE....leaks are a REAL ISSUE/fire alarms, elevators, laundry room, computer room(infested with bedbugs) are real issues. These things are happening here. We post these negative reviews (well most of us) to help others from making the same mistake we did. Bedbugs are a time consuming and serious expense. The apartments are not cheap and the quality if far from adequate. If you dont believe me, and the reviews then feel free to move in and find out for yourself. You are entitled to make that decision. You are entitled to spend your money and realize you made a bad decision all on your own. I am no liar and I wouldnt waste my time to make up stories. Truth is Im pretty sure every apartment complex has atleast one apartment with bedbugs. Its life as we know it now but The Chesterfield doesnt have 1 apartment or 2 apartments. It has in the realm of 200 apartments out of the 600 with bedbugs. Not including the Roaches. Thats another topic in itself. My opinion would be have the exterminator check the apartment before you move in and be aware of the serious possibility of just walking down the hall or standing in the elevator and taking one home with you. (yes i have actually seen them in the elevators and hallways) The choice is always yours just make sure its an informed one because otherwise you will be on here later telling your sob story.

Unsanitary Conditions, Uncaring Management
I'm absolutely convinced that any of this site's more admiring reviews have been written by unscrupulous Chesterfield management members themselves. This complex should be condemned. I moved into an apartment whose kitchen came equipped with an obstructed garbage disposal, an antiquated stove housing three inoperable burners, and air ducts clogged with inches of decade-old dust. I found myself the owner of a bathroom whose air vent was inactive, whose walls were still soiled by a previous resident, and whose sink drain was still clogged with a former tenant's hair. My new living room housed an obsolete smoke alarm, patchy and fragmentary wall-to-wall carpeting, and judging from the thickness of accrued debris an AC unit whose filter had gone unchanged for years. The maintenance crew arrived within three days of my request for a replacement, but left a trail of dust in their wake; similarly, if asked to clear drains, they tossed their dirty supplies and chemicals in residential waste bins without thought of disposing them in a more safe and professional manner. The windows were unclean inside and out, the view horrendous (necessitating a craning neck to see the lake), the blinds in disrepair. The apartment windows are unscreened, allowing vermin convenient entry (expect to see moths, midges, flies, spiders, and small red ants, even on the upper floors) and are unsafe for small pets. If living on the side facing E 12th Street, your apartment will be blasted with the full intensity of the afternoon sun, so beware the western exposure. The neighborhood itself is raucous and slummy, plagued by panhandlers loitering five steps in every direction (they linger directly outside the entrances waiting for passers-by) and inundated with sirens, pre-dawn wrecking crews, and traffic. Faulty wiring rendered outlets unserviceable. Thefts were reported in a neighboring room on our floor within the first month of residency. During my stay, the Chesterfield was in dire need of new, more obliging personnel. As the apartment complex's ambassadors, the administration members' vital importance cannot be overstated. The surly clerks at the front desk glowered at visitors, and the security guards routinely engaged in unprofessional behavior constantly chatting on their cell phones, taking smoking breaks, napping on the job (!), and playing video games or browsing the internet at the front desk. Worse, the senior citizen who doubled in the leasing office regularly harassed residents. On move-in day, she tried to charge for an additional copy of keys when she had entirely neglected to provide the original set she had promised. She never once apologized for her error, and she treated me nastily at every subsequent encounter. I found her hostility and lack of professionalism confusing and totally uncalled for. Conversely, the maintenance staff was ALWAYS kindly and genuinely amiable, but severely understaffed. This building was too ungodly filthy for only three custodians to manage. The parking lot absolutely reeked of rotting garbage. The smoke-free stairwells were littered with spent cigarette butts. The gym was manifestly unhygienic and the machines were never fixed or disinfected. The laundry room was similarly grotesque, with inoperable washers, dryers, and vending machines. Unsightly blemishes like peeling wallpaper in hallways went unrepaired for months on end. The elevators, though prompt enough, would operate erratically, so only one of the three would work at any given time; beyond this, the lights indicating ascent/descent often failed to work, resulting in confused and annoyed passengers. Though the downstairs business center touted free wireless internet access, this would inexplicably stop working. Water was shut off by whim for hours at a time, usually with only a day's notice or less. The locks on the apartment doors stuck; the locks to the front door sporadically failed to work, as did those on the laundromat and gym... I was once locked inside the downstairs family room for the better part of an hour because the locking mechanism was malfunctioning. A word on bedbugs: these pestilential creatures are notoriously difficult to eradicate (in the apartment complex setting in particular) and often necessitate the complete removal and replacement of furniture. Both the flat elliptical body of the bedbug and its tiny, grain-like eggs are so well-adapted to concealment that even professional exterminators have difficulty extricating them from their hiding-spots. Within my final month of residence, I grew aware that my furniture had become a midden for these grotesque blood-red vermin, their presence made known by their tell-tale pattern of feces stains smeared over bedsheets and pillow-cases. Oh, and discovering the insects crawling in my bed upon awakening helped, too. Imagine my horror and annoyance at having to kill insects engorged with my own blood in my own home. The crushed insect corpses release unsightly swathes of human blood (red, brown, or black depending on the recency of the insect's feast) and emit a pungent cinnamon-like smell. Being nocturnal, bedbugs are typically most active during the hour directly preceding sunrise, but can strike at any time; I discovered them feeding on me both at 4:30 AM and during mid-afternoon naps with equal frequency. Be prepared to flood the apartment with sunlight (which the bugs reportedly avoid) and have all furniture steamed (which reportedly kills their larvae) or discarded entirely. Incidentally, I only ever saw one cockroach in my kitchen; most of the infestation complications came from the bedbugs. I urge all Chesterfield residents to contact Cleveland Health Department about the blind eye being turned to the infestation. No one should have to live under such horrible conditions.

Finally Trying to get it together
I have lived here for years and the conditions were always dismal at best. That was because the owners never hired good people. They have finally hired a new maintenance manager with balls, Dave Swann, since he has taken the reins here there have been drastic changes. We now have lighting where we didn't before. He is making the patio clean, now more people using it as a dog poop area. We now have security camers that work. The place is kept much cleaner. You should see the amount of old junk he is having thrown out weelky. The hot water issues we had in the past are going away. The heat issuse we had are all gone, in fact it's too hot sometimes, cant complain about that. When you call with a problem, someone comes the same day, not a week later like before, and the problem gets fixed. I have personally spoken with him about some issues and they were corrected. He listens. I just hope that they don't run him off like they did all the other maintenance managers. The office staff has also changed for the better, they have some attentive people working there now.

DON'T LIVE HERE!!!
The management is horrible. You can expect to get the run around or get things fixed after multiple times complaining. I would never recommend anyone to live here bc there is so much hassle trying to get any answers or anything accomplished. Roaches, bed bugs, broken elevators, broken laundry facilities, water damage almost on every floor, tennis court with no net, dirty pool in the summer, broken workout equipment...the list goes on and on. Not to mention the building next door is all section 8 and a safety concern- the cops are called constantly for issues. Greyhound station is also a safety issue- unless you like being hassled for money every time you walk outside. If you are still reading...you obviously need more convincing. THE PRICE IS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE OF HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND BROKEN EQUIPMENT FOUND EVERYWHERE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED--- DON'T LIVE HERE!!!

The worst place in Downtown Cleveland!!!
Hello Guys. I lived in that building. I read a lot of reviews. I am 100% sure that positive ones are written by MANAGEMENT! They lie!!! It is horrible place! It is very dirty place; full of bugs. They do useless treatments! There are very bad odors in the entrance because of Chinese restaurant!!! They have very different pricing; some residents pay a lot some pay very low for the same apartment! If u want to rent a home, do bargain do not trust them in the beginning! Very very bad management; hiring new employee each month. Always different security guys!Every week a new guy! They have 450 apts but with 2 security guys. Since they do not pay good, they hire always new ones! The building has very old carpets!!!!! there is free internet area in the low level but it is closed at 10 pm!!! A guy was collecting signatures to use the area 24 hours; as far as I learned they did not care about the signatures of a lot of people. A lot of people wanted but they DID NOT CARE! Fire alarms are not good! They do not work properly! We were waken up a lot of times by wrong alarms. Refrigators are old; if u have a studio, it disturbs u! If you rent 1 or the 2 bedroom ones it is ok! Laundry has very bad machines; they do not clean well! However they have only one positive thing: very cheap heating bills! DO NOT BELIEVE POSITIVE OPINIONS WRITTEN BY MANAGEMENT!

Move in if you LIKE Roaches and Bed Bugs! They are your Neighbors and Roomies!
This is an awful place to live! Never move in here! the Bug issue is outrageous and the staff pretends like there is nothing wrong! i had bed bugs within the first 15 days of living there and have since had to buy a brand new matress! i had a king size bed and is now down the drain! i had to leave my couch there because no place would accept any furniture that i would be transporting from that roach motel! People swim with there day clothes in the pool and there is no smell of clhorine anywhere to be found! the management will give you the run around until finally they are caught in a web of lies! Corporate is no better! they are al equally crooks! save your money! dont move in here! the amount of money that you pay is not worht the things that you will get! the trash chuttes are horribly disgusting and at the end of all of this you will not receive your security deposit back no matter what!~ DONT MOVE IN HERE!

Be informed!
It's definitely worth the $$$. No, these are not 5 star accomodations, but anyone who expects that is insane. This is a 40 year old building and if I wanted high class luxury I'd go pay 1000 at one of these other Downtown apartment buildings that have the same exact issues I see brought up here. All I can say is anywhere you go, you should go look at it and ask questions and also be aware of the fact that all apartment buildings have some form of bug issues and downtown parking will cost.
