Prior to sending in my application, I was mislead that I could sublease a unit from (08/1/2020 - 12/31/2020) via the leasing office & the current tenant moving out of the unit. Instead the leasing office tried to push me to side a (13 month lease / 18 month lease) after submitting my application this is when things took a major turn for the worst. I refused to sign the lease because this is terrible communication coming from the leasing office. You charged me $100 for a application and told me that "Subleasing apartment to end of the original lease can happen no problem" in reality you knew that I wouldn't sign a 13 month lease. This was seriously a cash grab & quote to hit for July I believe. Because I explained this to your leasing office when I first called i was only looking for short term. - the leasing office refuse to allow the current tenant to sublease without signing a new lease (12+ Months) - the leasing office refuse to take any responsibility in miscommunication of your employees - terrible customer service ( I was called this morning and was greeted very rudely because I refused to sign the lease and that I changed my mind and demanded a refund.) So as I write this review and explain my experience with the leasing office. This is just one part for me as a new possible tenant. Just imagine the stress level of the current tenant who was supposed to be moving out in less than 5 days from now and have to pay for more months under terrible management. I'm lucky that things fell through for me. But I feel really bad that this is what the current tenant has been going through. Think twice before signing a lease with "The Luckman" it's a sad Management & leasing team they got running the place and please listen to the other reviews before considering applying/signing any lease here.

This place is a disaster. I will just list the issues I have had in the past year... - Tub backflowed sewage - Toilet consistantly doesn't work properly. It was inoperable for 2 weeks once; It leaked urine from the bottom of the bowl onto the bathroom floor which was not fixed for a week and when it was they did not clean up the leaked urine. - The radiator leaked onto our carpet, again no cleaning was done to avoid the possibility of mold - The maintenance staff enters the apartment without notice which I am pretty sure is illegal - There has not been consistent hot water in over a year - There was NO running water for 3 days. The management solution for this? "Go shower in some vacant apartments we have" - Entire building had no heat for 2 days during the recent Polar vortex which they claim is the city's fault, but when I contacted them, they said the issue was fixed within a day so I don't know what the extra 2 days of no heat were caused by - The elevators have never all worked. Most of the time they have 1 that works, and occasionally you have to use the service elevator, because all the others are broke - The security guard has slowly been disappearing. They actually transferred the only one that was regularly awake at night. - They are raising rent despite all of these issues and their on going construction. How much? My $795 apartment now lists for $1350 - Don't do it. You will regret it!!!!!

It's really easy to see through some of these reviews. If you live downtown expect some level of noise from outside. This is the third place I have lived at downtown and by far the quietest. The walls are thick. Floors are thick. You hear things like fire trucks and the occasional car with a busted muffler. The leasing staff told me during the tour the ac is systemwide and turned in spring. There was like two days it was really warm in my apartment but the windows let in a good breeze and I got a small fan. Never had an issue with bugs. The last two places I lived at downtown were newer and I would see roaches probably once a week. Here it's been two years and the worst I had was a spider in my window. Cons: I wish I could pay more for an insuite washer and dryer however ever since I got a laundry trolley it's not that bad using the facility. And they recently replaced the AC I'm the laundry room which was welcomed. Overall it's a great place to live and not that expensive. The people in the office are always helpful and responsive.

I cannot wait to move out of this place. The building itself is outdated and the hallways smell bad from the trash compactors. Maintenance is not useful at all, didn't even inform me when they were coming OR that they had been in my apartment in 1 of the 2 times I've made requests. The updated units are alright but it doesn't make up for incredibly loud street noise that seeps in with ease through the old windows, the inconsiderate neighbors whose music can be heard clear as day through the walls past midnight on a weeknight, or the central air that can only be either A/C or heat at a time. I couldn't sleep at all for a couple weeks when the heat first turned on because, even with the heat off, my radiator would still give off heat & I'd come home from work to a 79 degree apartment. Couldn't even sleep with the windows open because of crazy loud noises coming in from the street. Would NOT recommend.

I recently left Sphere after living there for just under a year. In the 11 months I stayed at Sphere I had my vehicles broken into twice, my apartment flooded three times (I lived on the third floor), I had a broken AC unit for weeks, the third floor constantly smelled like trash or weed, and the management staff was less than helpful in fixing any of those issues. The location of Sphere was great, it is on the edge of Playhouse Square and in walking distance of East 4th, and all of the sports stadiums in Cleveland, but this simply doesn't make up for the poor quality of the building. The biggest issue, as noted above, was the plumbing, which resulted in my apartment flooding three times over the year I spent there. There are known issues with the plumbing in the building and neither the previous or current management has done enough to mitigate the issues and I was told by the management team that I "wasn't the only apartment that flooded three times in a year, so there's nothing I [management] can do." To go along with the shoddy building, it took three weeks for the water to be completely cleaned from my apartment and have the floors and carpets cleaned and/or replaced as necessary. The location is great, but the old building and poor management team made it impossible to stay at Sphere another year. My experience is surely not the average experience at Sphere, but be aware that there are plenty of issues in this building, should you choose to move in.

If I could rate this place a negative I would. This place is HORRIBLE. the manager Holly has no business being a manager anywhere. She and the whole building is horrific. Have you waken up with itchy bites yet? Probably because you have bed bugs. This place is infested with bed bugs. Honestly should be shut down. Do not live here. Bed bugs are alllll over this apartment building. This needs to be condemned.

I believe a lot of the reviews on this site are out of date. As of 2017 I would say this apartment is the best place to live downtown for under 1K/month. They have fixed any bug infestation that may have existed in the past. Out of the five people I know that have rooms in this building, they all love it and have had no issues. Staff are great as long as you're a good tenant ( I am so I have no idea how they are if you're a bad tenant) and maintenance responds very quickly.

I do not personally live here but my significant other does and I visit often. At first it seems to be a nice place, but once you have been there for awhile you start to notice things that they do not tell you when you move in. For example, the roach infestation. If you read other reviews they all say that they have had this problem as well and if they haven't they probably just moved in and do not have the issue yet. The management will say that they are taking care of the issue by having exterminators place traps to "determine the type of cockroach infestation is in your unit". They are supposed to come and pick the traps back up, but they never have! They have been there for months and no exterminator has returned! You will see them run across the floor! Nothing is more disgusting than opening your cabinet to grab a plate to eat off of and seeing a cockroach or seeing one crawl up the wall while you are taking a shower! So it is a persistent and DISGUSTING issue that is never going to be resolved! Maybe the bugs are there because the hallway constantly smells like sewage and dirty garbage. I have also heard from a number of people that they have a bed bug issue. I have personally never came across that issue, but If my boyfriend does that may just be the last straw. HE ALSO HAD IS CAR TOWED FROM HIS OWN PARKING SPOT!!!!!! When he spoke to the manager Holly about the issue when it happened she did nothing but SCREAM at him on the phone! His parking spot had a SEWER LEAK that was dripping on his car so they gave him and his roommate another parking spot so one car could park behind the leak and the other in a new spot. When he went to pull in there was a car in his spot so he pulled behind it thinking it was his roommate and maybe that they actually fixed the 2 month long issue and NOPE!!!! He got a call that next day saying that his car was towed! Did not give him the chance to move his car OUT OF HIS OWN SPOT before they did it or anything, just towed it! When he spoke to Holly about the issue she said that he was a liar and that she had never heard of this sewer leak. Yelled at him for parking in his own spot, stating that "This car had been parking in this lot number for 3 weeks" when no one else was except him.... Wanted to charge him $110 for them having to tow the car! I could go on with more issues that we have come across and how unprofessional and childish the management is, but I will not waste my time or yours. Do not move here. I only gave management one star because I had to. Save yourself the stress.

Positives: Very courteous staff. Good location and price in comparison to equivalents. Respond quickly to concerns. Negatives: The roaches are still a problem, even with immaculate cleaning and roach traps they come out of all the walls. Pretty sure I kill at least 2-3 per day. Despite the cool app for the Maytag washers & dryers the whole system goes down (App doesn't work at the same time the machine that takes credit card goes down...). A few 'troublemaker' residents have stolen parts from the machines in the workout room, and you can occasionally find their spit on the ground in there... gross. I still give it a reasonable review because it seems like their doing everything they can with the bad situation.

Second year living here and I would honest to god never recommend any one to ever move in to this place. I have been dealing with bed bugs for months and the only thing that happens is I am lied to about when the exterminators are coming. I have had to move everything out of my apartment 2 times now and it is clear that the whole issue has a bug problem. For that reason it will never actually be fixed since they are just "spot cleaning" the issue from time to time. The manager Holli, is one of the most direspectful women I have ever met. I have had her call my cell phone and scream at me telling mt the bed bug issue is not her fault and it's my fault. DO NOT LIVE HERE, EVER. The ONLY good reviews on here are from management. Probably in hopes that they dont lose their jobs.

Thete seems to be a lot of positive reviews lately, interesting. My review is based on a 2 year experience in a studio unit. Pros: Affordable. My apt wasn't updated but clean with not cosmetic issues. The old rates ($550)did allow me to take advantage of the parking garage ($100). Electric is set up for you and the monthly bill was never more than $22.00. Spacious. Kitchen, Storage, and Bathroom were a nice size. Enough counter space for hobby chefs. Location. Not exactly the heart of DT Cleveland but a decent walk when the weather was good. Laundry. Just be glad its there. Maintenace service. Average turn around. Never a revisit for a single issue. No Loitering Policy. It's nice coming home after a long day and not seeing people hanging around the lobby. I entered from the garage and never saw people at the entrance. 3 Elevators+a freight for moving. This made move in/out easy. Cons: Discomfort. The windows are pivoting panes. No screens mean bugs and birds in the apt. The AC/Heat system comes from the same inlet and not independently controlled. You only get to decide "how much" vs "when and what". Early Fall and Spring was very uncomfortable. Pest Control. Roaches started surfacing in my unit after my renewal. Had them up until I moved out. Bed bug complaints overheard while in the lobby. Smells/Trash/Noise. Not from food as much but Marijuana and trash. Cig butts in the stairwells and litter in the halls. Noise from stereos and tvs. If you thought having professionals and grad students as neighbors = quiet and clean think again. The Mgmt. The prop mgr on my way out wasn't very professional. Seemed a bit irritated and confrontational. She is the reason I didn't renew for a 3rd term. The staff turnover is extremely high except her. Again very interesting. Security: Saw the desk empty on quite a few occassions after hours. Neighbors complained about missing pkgs. Corporate Office Communication: Don't bother. Moving out was my way of resolving my issue. No interest in resolving issues with residents. Issues resolved right before/after move out: Gym was reopened. Sec Dep refunded in full Lots of cosmetic changes and repurposed common areas. Average overall experience the 1st year. Below average the 2nd year. Advice: Look at all your options, especially if you're relocating. Breaking your lease is expense so make sure you can handle some of the things listed or have an attorney. If you have an issue with diversity this is not the place for you, I enjoyed it. Don't expect more than what you pay for. Don't be afraid to ask residents what they think of this place when you visit.

I've only been living here for 2 weeks. Lydia was very helpful about my settlement. The apartment is clean when I first moved in. Maintenance people are very quick to response when a outlet in the bathroom wasn't working. However, hot water for the shower could go too hot sometimes. Overall it's been pretty good.

Things I like about Sphere apartments - Clean - Quiet - Great management - 27/7 security which means you can pick up your packages whenever you want. - affordable rent. I've lived in other apartments in the downtown area and this is really the best for the price. . I give this place five stars and strongly recommend it.

Nice rooftop swimming pool. The heated parking garage is very convenient. Leasing staff is very approachable, friendly, and promptly address apartment-related issues, which, I think, are pretty rare and minor. Overall nice building. I like it at Sphere.

Excellent apartments. Very well maintained. Prompt management. Only thing is I wish there was parking on per day basis. It becomes difficult if guests come over for the weekend or so! Other than that pretty good!

I've lived at the Sphere for 6 months and love so many things about it. The staff is always friendly and courteous and maintenance is always prompt and responsive. It's the perfect location with East 4th, Ohio city and Tremont within a few miles. The heating garage is a great perk during winter as well!

I have been living in sphere apartments for about 6 months, and i have enjoyed everything about it here. The large windows are great for city and lake views, and just having natural light in the apartment. The security guards are extremely friendly, as well as the front office staff. The bedrooms and overall layout of our apartment unit is perfect. Also, you cant beat the location. Only a short walk from tons of bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend sphere.

The Sphere has been my home for almost two years. In that time, they have updated the lobby, hallways, workout room, and many other spaces. Every time I have a maintenance need, it is taken care of the same day. The Sphere has created a comfortable, easy living space for me!

I lived in Sphere for a year and half now, and unless I leave downtown Cleveland, I will never leave! I am within walking distance of sporting events, night life, and thanks to Heinen's, even my grocery shopping. I found Sphere affordable compared to other apartments downtown when I was doing my research. The gym located in the building has enough equipment to get a solid workout in. The roof-top pool is a nice retreat to have during the summer months, not to mention, it's one of the best seats in the house during the Cleveland Air Show. Anytime I have made a maintenance request, the issue was resolved the following day (my issues weren't urgent, which I'm lucky to say I've never had). I think Sphere can only improve from this point on and become an even greater place to call home!

Excellent apartments and amenities. This is my first time renting apartment and i had an excellent experience with the poeple in the leasing office. They understood my urgency for an apartment and helped me processing the application very fast. Parking Garage has heater which is perfect for in the winter time. Location is perfect, walking distance to the supermarket, bars, restaurants and clubs.

Nicest apartment I have ever lived in. I like the location and have been without a car for eight years. I like the renovations, and enjoy the hardwood in the new suites. The club room and fitness center renovation were really well done. Been here almost eight years and don't want to leave. I like the people and sense of community.
