Horrible Place to Live
I moved here from out of state 8 months ago and have constantly been disappointed by management, the unit I received, and maintenance. Not only was I given a non-updated unit when originally I toured (and applied/was accepted to) an updated unit, but when applying I was completely left un-contacted after paying my first deposit and waiting for a move in day. My deposit “was lostâ€� after the agent helping us was fired or quit and current management didn’t think to check on the prospective tenants that he may have been doing business with. I should have taken this inconsistency as a sign, as when we moved in we received the wrong key and couldn’t get into our apartment. What has pushed me over the edge is that there has been a leak in my ceiling for a month and a half that has only just been addressed. My maintenance request was ignored causing me to have to go physically to the office to get someone into our unit to fix the problem. I guess they finally thought it was serious after plaster began falling from our ceiling. Impatiently waiting for my lease to end. This place is a scam. Do not be tempted by the false photos or low rent. Every local I’ve met knows this place is a scam.

Affordable rates but….
I went to the leasing office twice before my rent was due to proactively communicate that I would need a few extra days. Instead of working with me, the assistant property manager filed for eviction anyway. When I returned to pay, I was hit with nearly $600 in added fees. I asked if any of these charges could be waived given that I had communicated in advance—and was met with cold, evasive responses like “I can neither confirm nor deny,â€� as if I was speaking to a legal defense team instead of a housing office. This wasn’t a misunderstanding. It felt like a system. The Alden presents itself as affordable and accessible on the front end—but the backend penalties, lack of flexibility, and cold/dismissive treatment from assistant property managers create a very different reality once you’re locked in. If you’re considering moving here, understand this: communication and good faith may not protect you from aggressive fees or eviction filings. Proceed with caution. Beware, beware the Alden snare. I understand policy, but their enforcement feels predatory and heartless. They need new assistant property managers.

Nice Commuinity
Cali was spectacular on our tour, she was very thorough, knowledgeable and very good at what she does. I’m expecting in a few months and she was able to go over all of the 2 bedrooms available. I will be moving forward with joining The Alden.

Good for the price
I was welcomed by the staff who were friendly and professional. My agent Cali showed me a a few different options in my price range. I was very pleased with the options and there is stores close by the apartments.

The Alden has been a very positive living experience
[Incentivized Review] I have enjoyed living at the Alden the past 8 years. The leasing office is always very helpful with answering questions or providing information. The maintenance staff is always very professional and takes care of any issues in a prompt manne. Roger is always very helpful and courteous over the years. In summary, the Alden has been a very comfortable living experience that is conveniently located to many businesses ,etc. Thank you, Mark Sussman

A few years ago I gave a raving review about this apartment complex and the people who manage it. Today just after 10:00 a.m., the sidewalks from my apartment throughout the complex are covered in snow. This has been true all winter. I have missed appointments because I will not walk on ice and snow covered sidewalks. Maintenance and the crews motoring around the complex no longer exist as they once did. This is not a place where you want to live these days.

They do not care about people, only money
This is the worst experience I have ever had at an apartment complex. I can’t even pay my rent. Portal constantly goes down on the first of the month and isn’t fixed until they are able to charge you a $100 late fee and $300 in court fees. After that, portal magically works again. Don’t bother trying to call, the number on Google goes to a call center, they’ll then give you a number to the main office, but no one EVER answers or returns calls. If you ask why corporate isn’t aware that they’re phones aren’t working, you’ll be met with a shrug. Haven’t been able to get ahold of ANYONE regarding the mold and water damage in the hallways, let alone a regular maintenance request. When I toured the building, Kayla was so condescending I couldn’t believe she’s allowed to still work there. She lied to me about amenities that would be available (like laundry or the pool, which they charge you monthly for, but if you visit, you’ll still have to pay a fee to enter). She even lied about the parking situation, which was the main request I had when applying. There is only one road available for street parking, and they will tow your car if you park in their lots, even if you have a current sticker allowing you to park there. I have seen a lot of nice reviews for Gwen, and she is kind, but she is the sole reason I was charged over $400 in fees, because I went to the office to ask what my balance was, she told me, I wrote a check for that amount in front of her, and was STILL charged late/court fees because she did not include the gas/water charges when she told me the total. Just all around incompetent staff that does not care what they are doing to people. I cannot tell you enough how much I regret signing that lease.

DON'T DO IT
I have lived here a total of almost 3 years and they can care less about you. You ask for a mold test they tell you it's your problem not theirs even though they are REQUIRED BY LAW to do the test if there is a risk. I ended up having to pay for the test since they refused to tell me the result if they did it themselves, and guess what, 3 forms of DEADLY BLACK MOLD that they painted over. Not only do they not care about your health, but i did NOT feel safe in this community at all. I live alone and had asked if i could add a latch to my door for extra safety and was basically told no, even though there is proof on my current door that they had a latch before i moved in. The only person on the staff that even cares is Kelly (she's leasing i think that's her name) as she was the one that helped me push to get an issue in my bathroom fixed. I know they're going to charge me for my carpet even though it is water damaged from a situation that could have been AVOIDED by fixing a pipe when i told them about it 2 years ago and they only taped it. I applied for rental assistance that told me they would be able to help with past due rent, and they told them that i didnt owe any rent and basically disqualified me from the program. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE THEY DO NOT CARE AND LITERALLY LET PEOPLE SLAUGHTER ANIMALS OUTSIDE (This was confirmed to me by a maintenance employee that i will not name because i dont want anyone losing their jobs) I would search elsewhere unless you just need something in a pinch for a few months.

I was in a bind and need a place to rent readily without having the opportunity to look at multiple properties. The move in costs were overwhelming. The pet fee is 300.00 non refundable. 75.00 a month there after. The living space is clean, new paint, carpet. It has extremely limited space to keep in mind. The maintenance crew are efficient in answering service requests. There is a horrible rank smell coming from the apartment across from me that is so bad it has actually smelled the entire second floor of the building up. I have resorted to burning incense to deal with the retchid smell. The laundry area is downright scary. It smells of urine, and trash strown on the floor. It asks for a credit card to pay for wash/dry services. On an upnote, there is a laundry mat close to the property. All the negative reviews are pretty well on point. I have seen a vicious Pitt Bull in the kids play area unleashed. I am so sorry I moved here. Pay the extra to have central air, a dishwasher and in unit laundry at another place. Stay away from the lengthy contract that make you sign. Renter beware....

If I could give 0 stars I would. 1. Infested with bugs, spiders and roaches. We are very very clean people due to my mental illness lol 2. Infested with mice/rats, could literally give us diseases. 3. Our apartment is on the bottom level which is the same as the septic tank, or whatever is used for plumbing/sewage. It started to leak or it bursted and flooded our apartment from the outside in (from the outside hallway), AND from the inside in (from our toilet and bath tub). It took us having to call the police for maintenance to show up 30-45 minutes later. Just to ignore us while we tried to explain what's going on and where the sewage is, talking over us while we were trying to do so, and downplaying the situation to their boss literally right infront of us. (Example: he was on the phone with their boss and we said that sewage soaked our carpets not only at the front door but soaked them at the bathroom door, and he said "they said something about it being a little wet by the bathroom". EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SOAKED). My boyfriend had to clean the sewage up in the apartment because they took so long to reply and to get to work. Which made him get very very sick, and had to go to the hospital, and had to miss a weeks worth of work. My roommate also got sick for a few days. This could've made our pets sick as well if we didn't pick them up to carry them everywhere, since they clean their paws and would've seriously infested raw sewage. It took them a WEEK to get our carpets professionally cleaned, and my boyfriend HAD to ask them to clean it even deeper. They didn't even compensate us for 2/3 people getting very ill, for the work they missed or ANYthing. Rent this month was HIGHER????? After them not being able to work due to the illness they caused from bad management, bad maintenance, and bad reactional help. 4. Pool passes are $15????? And $5 EACH TIME YOU HAVE A GUEST, not reusable the next day or anything?? This place sucks, it doesn't care if you are in danger. It's money hungry and I wish we never moved here. Please listen to the negative reviews, they are most likely all true.

This place is a ---- hole. All the live videos do not show the true reality of this place. It is dilapidated and not even up to code. As soon as I notify BBB and code enforcement of all the deficiencies all will be revealed. Plumbing isn't up to code, nothing is maintained, there are abandoned vehicles parked in all the lots, trash everywhere, 10foot weeds and the grass is so long it has gone to seed! Ants, roaches, mold, you name it, the Alden's got it! Sheer disgust at these living conditions.

This place is a SCAM & they will charge you ridiculously at the end of your lease so watch out for that. When confronted, they ignored my phone call for weeks. Management is unreliable and all over the place. I wish I could give this place 0 stars but I was unable to do so. One of the residents warned me about this place but I thought he was only fabricating the situation. I only lived at this place for three months and they charged me 3 years of carpet stains…. Which there was NEVER any carpet stains to begin with.From the jump I should have known this place was a SCAM! They gave me a HANDICAP apartment which I didn’t even sign up for. The property was filthy as well as the residents that reside there . One of the maintenance guys told me that they do have roaches and bedbugs on the property. The hallways smell like death. They say that you can “control” your heat but you really can’t..My lease was for 12 months but I could not stand the filth so I opted out early. So if you want to stay in filth and STENCH this is the place for you !

It’s great for the price, I won’t say it’s the nicest place but it’s definitely one of the nicest places for the price you pay. It can be pretty noisy sometimes but it’s not too bad. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

I moved into these apartments because of the location and the value. I've had nothing but positive experiences with both the girls in the office and the maintenance staff. They have taken care of anything I bring to their attention and look forward to the future with them.

Terrible paint job, terrible maintenance. I would not recommend to anyone. I had cockroaches and my door is also broken and they won't come fix it. Never got a safety inspection that we were guaranteed.

Terrible place to live. The staff is inconsiderate and rude. Told my washer was gonna be replaced twice by two different maintenance staff members and that was months ago without it happening. Staff came to my door and into my apartment while I was sleeping to check my light switches (which I didn't ask for) without even calling first. Live somewhere else and save yourself the headache

DO NOT MOVE HERE! They have roaches!! that come from behind and underneath kitchen cabinets. Also may run into small cracks you wouldn't even notice until you see one hurry into it! Plain and simple DO NOT MOVE HERE unless you don't mind ROACHES

Been here 4 months and the customer service is horrible. I called, and emailed for over 2 weeks requesting a new parking spot in the garage because of cement and debris falling from the ceiling. I sent pictures and put in a work order only to be told there was nothing that could be done. Only after my windshield cracked and I showed up in the office did I finally get a new space but the manager refused to pay for the damage to my car. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I can go on and on and on for the many reasons not to move here. My basement flooded MULTIPLE times while living here not to mention it was flooding SEWAGE from the connecting townhouses. Yes I had ---- in my basement; ruining all of my things MULTIPLE TIMES. What did Alden do? Take their sweet time to get it fixed- maintenance request put in 1 day they come 3 days later with a temporary fix while I have ---- in my basement. Yup. It wasn't until I told them I was going to call the health department that they actually sent professionals to look at the problem. Let's move on....I had an infestation of roaches! Out of no where!! I'm not sure if they bombed my neighbors house but they came all to my kitchen. I called them in PANIC BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY BUGS! -they closed my maintenance request while I was at work the NEXT DAY -I had to call them to figure out why they closed it considering that I hadn't been contacted. They told me pest control would tend to my apartment on Thursday- IT WAS MONDAY! Poor...Poor...Poor management! Haha! The whole office is filled with uneducated and unprofessional people. Please don't expect to get your security deposit back lol! Don't give them your money!

Really 2019 everything is great besides there being loud children being allowed to scream at 7am, I like how the apartments are in the center of many townships and 20 mins away, the police on site is even better, the walls are thin and the other residents don??™t care if there are pest or not and keep the hallways stinking children screaming 24/7 but minus that it??™s a great place

Other tenants in the complex makes the propetty look bad trash outside their doors the stinch. People throw trash in the lobby and the roach problem is out of control but I love my apartment its just. There are some things that can change to Mae the apartment complex a little better

It??™s been a standard lackluster experience. Nothing to write home about. But on the same note, it hasn??™t been terrible either. Wish all main doors had locks instead of just some. Wish the noise was quieter coming from upstairs. Which they would trim some of the vegetation and garbage sticks in front of our building.

Expensive. I hate the parking situation... hear the neighbors all the time. Drug situation is horrible. For the mount of money that 1 pays to live in the projects I would expect better living conditions. I cannot buzz anyone in from my apartment I have to go downstairs to let the in. I should be able to buzz my family members in..
